Don’t miss this store when in Greune, Texas! Located right across the street from the famous dance hall. So much to peruse, you’re bound to leave with something nostalgic or unique. Friendly staff and a beautiful, old building. The sounds of walking on the old wooden floor is a delight in itself. What a gem for Greune!
Very polite!! Didn’t get a chance to see him face to face. He gave some good advice.
Always a great selection of vintage and antique items. Old signs, dishware, jewelry, clothing, books, Texana. Must stop for any antique lover!
Walked in with a drink, missed the sign that asked that drinks have lids. The woman behind the counter yelled at us and told us that there were no drinks allowed. When I politely said ok to get request, she continued to tell at us on the way out, saying it was required that we never have drinks. I was so sad because I was excited to show my parents this store. Dont go if you dont want to be yelled at. Plenty of antique stores down the way.
Im not an antiquer by any means but this place was fun to wander around. There is PLENTY of stuff to see - great stuff for guys as well as the women.Just go in there and do your own thing - dont try and follow your significant other around.Plenty of stuff for the women to look at but also lots of stuff for the guys to check out too. Cool beer signs, tap handles, beer bottles, clocks, neon signs, and my personal favorite: some old plastic beer cups from Hemisfair 68 for two bucks each - talk about nostalgia!Check out the original vault in the far wing - ask the staff about it and they can explain it to you but probably not get you inside of it. Still pretty historic an cool to view from the outside!
A very nice shop with some interesting items all throughout. Very helpful staff. My only complaint was that the shop was a bit cluttered.
Great place with lots of variety. The staff couldnt have been more helpful, even when we took forever to look at the jewelry from the lockbox. I bought a large item and I live out of state and they offered shipping for me. Cute place.
Basically just trinkets and nostalgic items. I thought there would be furniture but there were only a few pieces.
Such an amazing and unique place to shop!! There are so many hidden treasures here, there’s sure to be something here for everyone.
Gotta love a good antique store with a lot of interesting character.
Lady at the store was very nice. They have some beautiful pieces of furniture.
Nobody wearing masks and overpriced. But large collection of antiques.
Helpful staff and a huge variety of old books, farm implements, toys, oddities, clothes, knives, swords and vintage military gear. I was very happy with my purchases, which included a wwii bayonet, and said I felt like I was taking home a piece of history.
Misleading labels, inflated prices. The most overpriced antique shop Ive ever been to. They had a WWII-era ceremonial wooden ornament in the shape of an artillery shell, used for retirement ceremonies and the like. Not that uncommon, some military commands still use them. Their label claimed it was a dummy cartridge used for training. I can assure you it never had, now or 80 years ago, any usefulness as a training item. They also had some revolutionary and other WWII-era items with false or misleading labels. Either theyre lying, or when they dont know what something is, they just come up with whatever story makes it sound more valuable. Incredibly dishonest.
Its basically a large antique mall with sales displays from all sorts of vendors. Prices are average for most things. Ive dug out some interesting and useful stuff from Gruene Antique Company on several occasions. After you visit there a few times, its easier to find the stuff of particular interest since the vendors dont move in and out frequently. Ive found a few really nice older books there.
Turning you into the the Texas AG for a federal ADA violation. Tell me I can’t come into your business without a mask when the governors orders say I do not need a mask. Read the governors order page 2 very carefully and have your lawyer re-read it carefully. EO-GA-29 page 2. See you in court for violating the EO and violating the federal ADA act.
A large store with a great collection of vintage cameras.
No social distancing, no masks required. large groups being allowed to enter without masks on. store is dirty and staff is rude
Very interesting store with friendly staff. Ikr time-feel. Prices were very much within reason. High foot traffic in a destination location. Make sure not to knock anything over as the place is packed with goodies.
Beautiful older store packed with beautiful items floor to ceiling. Very friendly staff and a fun walk through. Parking can be a pain being right in the middle of a touristy area but can be found. Prices also reflect being in a touristy area but a good deal can be found if your willing to really look/dig a little.
Lots to see here but prices are a bit too hight. It’s a fun place to go look around though.
This place has a little of just about everything you can imagine. Vary friendly staff and enjoyable atmosphere.
Always have fun a Gruene, tons of great things to look at
Unique things.
What a pleasant antique store! The staff is like Johnny on the spot, and even though it’s a tourist attraction the prices seem to be fair retail. I was able to find a few booths with some deals. My husband enjoyed looking through the vinyl dealers and I enjoyed using their clean restroom!
The same stale overpriced stuff and Grumpy dealers. Need to change merchandise out and lower the prices.
Not for locals or buyer/sellers, prices reflect trendy location for tourists.
Found an excellent restaurant on the river. The River House Grill. Excellent food and wait staff plus a really unusual dining spot. Highly recommend
Great place to look around.
I love real antiques not imitation antiques like other places have
Every hill country trip we stop in here! Huge selection of antiques and prices are perfect. Most antique shops in little historical towns try and rob you blind, not Gruene Antiques! Love it.
A fun place to go antiquing. Theres some pretty cool stuff in there and should you need to use the restroom they have a clean one
Nice place to walk around and see all it has to offer.
Well, shoot! My toys from the 70s have hit the shelves of a doggone antique store! Other than that, this popular place is packed with so many trinkets and treasures. Almost every piece has a story to tell. So interesting!
Found a film camera here and was interested. I couldnt test it in the store because I didnt have film with me. I asked one of the workers if the camera work. His exact word were not going to sell you something that doesnt work. Took it home. Loaded he film. Doesnt work. Took it to a camera repair shop and they said there is no way to fix it. I called the store and the just said sorry no refunds.
Definitely one of the best antique stores in south Texas. They have a huge selection of items and the place is well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their prices can be a little high though. I highly recommend this store if you love collecting antiques.
2nd time here and love this place. Has so much to look at and shop for. I could spend hours but this time was really packed with spring breakers. We have always walked out spending at least $100 but really want to spend more!
Neat shop to stroll through and waste some time. Saw lots of things I remember from my grandparents homes and some things I have that I still use! Lots of variety in the items they have. Im not an expert in antiques, but prices seemed reasonable for an antique shop compared to others Ive been in.
Love this place
Great antique store with something for everyone! Friendly, helpful staff, good jewelery prices. Have been shopping here regularly for over 2 years, enjoy!
Very nice collection and assortment of antiques here... If you plan on going, try to plan for a few hours to look around... I spent 3 hours and still didnt get it all in... Will have to gobavk
I absolutely adore this place, they have sooo many antique trinkets. You could literally be in there for hours looking at all the things they have.
Nicely preserved things, very nice staff
Amazing displays with an abundance of antiques. The ladies at the desk know exactly where each items are located. You will not be disappointed at Gruene Antique Co.
Great Antigue shop! Have been enjoying it for many years! Always find a few treasures! Lynn was especially helpful! Thanks
Always love picking this shop. Only Brady Texas has a shop similar in quality of goods!
Didnt find what I was looking for but it was never seeing all of the things they had. It almost seemed like the store was expanding while I was in it and things that I didnt notice were there all of a sudden.
Something for everyone here.!
To much to look at seriously if you like good food music a couple of beers and walk through old houses full of antiques an Unique items then go for it
As long as youre white, you probably wont be bothered. Ruined a nice time out with my mother by employee stalking. Sad sign of the times.
Very friendly and knowledgeable proprietor- especially on the local history of Greune. Discovered some hard-to-find antiques as a bonus.
Beautiful people service excellent.
This place is a blast from the past for all ages! I am an 80’s baby and found several items that made me go, “Oh man, remember this?!” Great antique store!
Love everything there Fonda has great jewelry, Larry was great. Go look and have a great day.
Tons of cool stuff to look at! Many items reminded me of my childhood. Items a bit overpriced in my opinion but might be worth the purchase if you find the right item. Friendly and helpful staff!
Hard to get help, at least during peak summer traffic. Pricey, so so customer service, usually elbow to elbow crowd year round, no dedicated parking and NOT ada accessible. Great merchandise selection.
Nice selection, yet alot is over priced. German steins from schloß kaltenburg 500ml used and not in good condition was like 25 bucks. Ive been to kaltenburg a new 1l is 10 euro XD.
Lots of cool finds. A bit pricey. Was like taking a trip down memory lane & going to granmas...
Great little spot to get some gifts and items for home.
Great Antique store!
Nice place very organized. Ive found better deals in Fredericksburg and Gonzales Tx.
If you have a baby and a stroller you are not welcome there.FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I WAS TOLD THAT SORRY, YOU CAN NOT BE HERE WITH A STROLLER. WOW...I was speechless, I have a 9 month old and the lady at the shop asked me to leave. Not only the place does not welcome visitors with babies, but also there is no ramp to enter the store.Poor business etiquette. The lady at the store ruined the whole experience for us and the mood overall.Do not recommend it, nor willing to come back.
Great place looking at all the nostalgic stuff was awesome. My granddaughter had a blast.
Good select of uranium glass. Good prices. Beautiful location.
Nice historical area to visit and relax for a day trip.
Awesome stop! Wonderful old historic building. Get variety. Prices a little high, but still a good experience.
Loved this place!!!! You wont be disappointed
It has lots of vendors. It stays open till 10 at night. It was a wide variety of antiques. And they were moderately priced.
Loved this place. Very helpful. Sent barbed wire to Washington with no hitches
Fun neat shop. Lots of variety
Wish I had more money to spend here love this place
Great selection of higher quality antiques. Sometimes places like this are filled with trash.
Front Clerk was very rude and racist towards my family members, ignored us when we asked her questions and gave poor service, we love antique stores and visit them regularly but we have never experienced anything like this.
Cool place, our first time here. Well be back.
Very nice shopping experience, love looking at stuff from days gone by.
Very good👍💖
Lots of good antiques and junk.
Nice.
Terrific collection of collectibles for almost anyone.
Nice place a little pricey just my opinion.
Typical antiques. I found a vintage robg that was interesting but was too overpriced. Prices in Gruene are higher than nearby towns.
I always find something but pricing can be a bit too much sometimes
My favorite store to stop into every time we visit Gruene.
This place is huge. Also one of the best antique shops i have been in
Fun place with lots to offer.
Cool antiques, from tools, plates, and 8mm,to all things Americana and Texas. Pricey.
Great place to take pictures!
Love this place, alot of good stuff
Big selection of cool antiques!
