Definitely a gun range. Husband and I only went there to visit an old friend who works there.
Great place with a very safety conscious staff. I appreciate that the most! Theres a shop and you can rent arms and purchase rounds and targets. Its a pretty rustic setting, very old timish but cool. Other shooters were helpful and courteous. If youre looking for amenities, this aint yer pritty place. This is serious country. Bathrooms, kind of. Cant see the place from the road and parking in the grass. Cheap pricing for a day pass. I recommend it for the area and pricing and most of all the safety!
My favorite place to go shoot my guns range officers are strict but mean good for everyone’s safety but cool, and they are all about safety, rifle range also cool bought a scope for my AR and help me sight it hit red center mass within 8 shots he pretty good so I tipped him 40$ because I would of been ever do it my self I always recommend Deitz gun range to all my family members and friends
I was one of three in my party that went to this place yesterday and they were rude and not helpful. I’ve been to multiple ranges before and none have been this unorganized. The range itself was not kept up with. The furniture that you could sit down on were old and uncomfortable. On the rifle side they gave us no instruction on how the range worked. We just had to figure it out as time passed. We are NEVER going there again!
Went there for the first time to sight in a new rifle. Was greeted by Paul who was welcoming and told me what I needed to do. Then at the rifle range I was met by Johnny who not only politely filled me in on the range etiquette, he helped me sight in my rifle. Johnny is a great guy! Go out there and meet him.My visit was pleasant and I was taught much about dialing in my sights. 100% would recommend to a friend.
Great Outdoor Gun Range! Excellent Staff; Knowledgeable, Helpful, Patient! Cash Only!
Shared a great afternoon with my brother with some extremely knowledgeable personnel. I appreciated the authoritative nature with which this range is run for the safety of ALL involved. I liked the location, I liked the set up and I appreciated the DISCIPLINE. There was no excess bandwith conversation and all was explained cut and dried. I was offered some tips and I received some instruction when I asked about a particular subject. I will be returning.
Vary friendly staff. Nice place to safely shoot your firearms. The store has a nice stock of items as well. I got 4 magazines for my firearm from them at a reasonable price.
Am without a home now because of hurricane evacuation. Went in while out of town to buy . I felt as if I was being treated as a revenuer . Did take my money. Did obtain purchase . Person in business seemed as if he was uncomfortable about me being there with my service dog . 100+* outside. Couldn’t leave dog in auto. Cash only . Don’t know who they were, so I made no friend there as I do most every where I go. Hope my presence didn’t offend them . Real sad about ever going so far for such an unhappy encounter.
I went there to sight my rifle, and I got help from the range master (it was a slow day), super helpful. This is a great place as long as we follow the rules, keep it safe and focus on shooting. Awesome!
Decent range at best but the attitude from the staff makes it a pass for me. They have no social skills at all. They’re rude.
Great place to unload
Rude staff and range conditions are horrible. If you are looking for a good day at the range, this isnt the place to go. If possible I would give 0 stars.
Was pretty empty. Pretty cheap, and very clear and respectful range officers. Pretty good range overall
When we got there we were greeted and helped by range master Dave, he was very helpful and knowledgeable about shooting and cleaning the gun very helpful I would recommend anyone to go to Dietz gun range and ask for range master dave. Me and my father had the time of our lives. Thanks to everyone there I look forward to going again soon.
They’re so rude here. Will never come back.
I used the pistol range this morning. David was very helpful as I had a new gun and he helped me with it. I will definitely go back.
Took my daughter for the first time to shoot handguns. The rangers were very helpful
Been going here for 15 or more years.Went to have 2 guns bore sighted.Came in the counter guy talking on his cell phone. I set both cases(guns) on the counter, the counter guy says, do you have to take up the whole counter! There was no one in the place!I just picked up my guns and left, put them back in truck.i went back in to get my signed card, he says go ahead and take it, i have lots more! I ask for the owner, she came out and basically, the guy did nothing wrong and did I want them to still bore sight them or not.Said nope and left! Will never go back, will refer all the people I can to Cedar ridge range on 1863!!
Mrs Dietz is a true southern lady and runs a great place. Have been coming here for over 20 years. Only wish I have would be to be able to rapid fire and run full auto. But you do your banned for life. Safety first.
I have been there a few times in the last few weeks and I think the bad reviews are a bit justified. The people in the store never say more than Have you been here before? Do you have a membership, that will be $10, pistol or rifle? (direct quote). Personally, I could care less about the wording of a simple transaction some body probably does 100 times a day and the range masters are generally nice and succinct. The only reason I keep going back is it is the only range in 40miles of my house. Truly, I have tried to find somewhere else to shoot a long gun but alas, I have to contend with a long drive and a merely capable range. At least these guys dont mess around with safety, I have never seen any unsafe activity. However, a little bit of customer service goes a long way, and take cards or put up an ATM! It is 2014 I havent carried spare cash in five years. How do you expect to sell a $200 scope for cash only?
I went yesterday to this rifle range it was a new experience for me to go to this place... did not know there rules most of the time when you go into a rifle range or a pistol range you have someone to explain to you the rules. Not very different from another one but you never know At a new place ... . To make it short and sweet I guess you go there to have a nice time you go there to sight in your rifle and you come out very unhappy and confused. I read one of the articles one of them said that the Master was very rude. And basically he is right. . Theyre not friendly and courteous ... and then I have a men that worked inside come out from inside the store to tell me what I was doing wrong. So I had both of them one to my right and one to my left telling me how to shoot Ive been doing this for over 35 years and I guess I have not been doing this right in their eyes theyre a bunch knuckleheads throwing their weight around. And anybody that has had a good experience I guess you were the lucky once to have a good experience and for those that have not I guess were not going back..... And for those who R think in going there I would think twice about going ...I have been to some really nice ones. Like a place to shoot I have been to some bad ones like Bracken. But this one takes the cake worst mistake that I have made..... so be warned. I did not read the reviews before I took off I did not think it was going to be that bad ...... waste of money waste of time. A really bad experience I cannot say enough how bad they were... oh and by the way you can tell the range master from the shooters. Youre standing there trying to figure out who the range master is. It is like they picked somebody off the street and put him there just to yell at you... he does not look like a professional you would think they would have somebody conduct himself in a professional manner if hes going to be yelling at you and telling you that youre doing it wrong he looks like a beggar of the street
This was my first trip to this range since the early eighties. Had a wonderful time. Covered shooting benches. Separate pistol and rifle ranges. The RSO was very friendly and helpful. I ended up buying a membership to the range. Now I can shoot there as often as I please.
I found this range years ago when shooting silhouette pistol competitions driving from Houston. Now that I am in San Antonio, I have shot at the pistol and rifle ranges. There are better places to shoot pistol but the rifle range is perfect for my needs. The RSO at the rifle range is courteous and safe. They have up to 200 yards and allow my use of specialty hunting/competition single shot pistols shooting rifle cartridges. This isnt the case at all ranges. I have been to other ranges to shoot and to instruct new shooters and I have weeded those out as being unsafe. Dietz is a safe range and is reasonably inexpensive, charging day fees per shooter not per gun. The office staff are knowledgeable and courteous as well. A good range.
Very friendly and professional staff. Closely supervised ranges feel very safe. Patient instruction. Very reasonable cost.
Excellent facilities and service. All staff are friendly and helpful. Pistol range master does his job with patience and respect. All shooting areas covered.
I am a new shooters and a member of Dietz. I love shooting there. The staff has never been anything but friendly and very helpful. The RSO, Dave, has helped me over and over and never made me feel uncomfortable. When Ive been reminded of any safety slip Ive always been grateful. I want to be safe and know that other shooters are also following the rules. I find at any gun range......if you follow the rules and ask for help when you need it, you should have a good shooting experience. By the way, I am a female and at Dietz have not been treated any different from any other shooter.
I am new to the area and this was the closest range to my house so I took my whole family. ( 6 ). My kids where allowed to shoot with supervision of course and the range master even had a couple of good hints for my daughter. The only reason this was not an 5 star rating is because my wife was not comfortable with the vibe, everybody was real nice and we had no issues on the range with anyone.
Was there about a week ago and the old guy working the pistol range was a completely rude to the man next to me. Now, I frequent this range once every 2 weeks. This is the 3rd time the pistol guy has been rude to another person around me within the past few weeks. This range used to be friendlier but lately this range has become more anal than fun…. -James Dean
My husband took me out to teach me how to shoot my new pistol today, and my experience was very pleasant. The staff treated me with respect, answered questions, and even provided a few pointers to help me with my accuracy. We will definitely be back!
Great place to shoot. For you that cant handle some real good old boys dont waste your time theyre good people. Safe responsible. thanks
Thought our group would give it a try since it was so close and advertised skeet traps. Pathetic! They only have one and its a part of the rifle range so you have to cease fire when they do and then wait for the clear sign. Their trap only flies the clays straight down the range. Easy target and no challenge. They dont have a waiting line so its whoever is rude enough to cut everyone off who gets first dibs. The pistol range is also lame. They have 5 thru 20 yd markers and whichever shooter gets their magazine loaded first and runs out into the field gets to call the designated distance. You have to shoot as close as they do. So the seasoned revolver shooter wastes his range time due to the old ladies who run out with their pea shooter and clip to the shooting fish in a barrel 5yd marker before the all clear is given.
Its a decent outdoor range and its only $15 to shoot all day. They dont allow any kind of rapid firing. They limit it to 1 rd/sec. On the pistol range whichever shooter is first determines the range you fire at. I got tired of shooting at a target 10ft in front of me.
Great range, gunsmith did a good job on my 45-70
I just called to see what the hours were and got some douche on the phone. My quick question was what are your Sundays typically real busy or not. Then guy on the phone went on some rant about going to Las Vegas if he could predict the future. Every restaurant in America that has a minimum wage teenager answering the phone can answer this question and youre telling me that a person at a gun range that is trained cannot answer the simple question. I Dont think I want to visit this gun range. Went to this gun range anyway after several people recommended it in San Marcos and I must say the staff is friendly and it was well worth the trip.
I have no issues with this range. I have seen many instances where people do dumb things and then when they get checked by the range master they want to complain. Well do us all a favor and please take yourself somewhere else to shoot. Even a few of you guys which posted below me have admitted that you did something that you shouldnt have and then complained when you got checked. No range master will be able to check every single person and every single flaw. I have been here plenty and I have seen some pretty stupid people. A lot of guys buying a firearm and thinking they know how to act on the range when in fact they do not even know how to clear their weapon when there is a cease fire and to step away from the weapon. A lot of common sense that people fail to exhibit.
Great first visit...Father In law was in town....so we thought we would try out my new 9mm. Great one on one practical instruction from Range Officer Dave...I started out in the white and by time our hour or so session was done I was in the black consistently and right outside the bullseye at 10 yards.
Great range, fairly priced, and polite, helpful range officers.
Nice enuff place. Covered hand gun staging area and covered long gun range. They have a place to try out a shotgun (home defense). Short range for small bore rifles.Granted it was my first time, but I was treated with respect and professionalism. Handgun range master look like Yosemite Sam. Polite, but direct. I had NO issues with getting instructions from him. Then too, maybe I am old enough not to have a paper thin skin.I will be going again and taking family as well.PS - only Jesus gets 5 stars.
Damn... I just moved out here and was hopping to use the range on a regular basis but after reading the reviews I’m gonna pass on this place. I can’t deal with grumpy old men on power trips. Someone would get hurt.
Im a big fan of the Dietz range and their staff, and I have only ever had a good experience there. I question a lot of the negative reviews I have read about them, especially those about safety. Every time I have gone, the Range Safety Officers have made a point to ensure that everyone is following the rules of safe marksmanship, and they have gone out of their way to make sure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit. Safety relies on the patrons just as much as the staff, and people are going to mess up occasionally. I took my wife there today for some practice, and these were my observations:1. The guys inside the shop were personable, friendly, and polite. They greeted us when we came in and made us feel welcome.2. The RSO on the pistol range was a USMC veteran named David, he was very friendly with us, gave us a professional safety briefing and an explanation of the range rules before we got started. He made sure that weapons were handled properly, and that all ceasefire were obeyed.3. We had the freedom to shoot at our own pace, and to move back and from our table to the firing positions as we needed to, so long as we did so with our weapons clear and visibly open.4. My wife is a new shooter, and learning, and David was very courteous to her and understanding of her capabilities. He made sure that she felt welcome and even gave her some pointers on her technique.5. The price is very reasonable, we paid $33 for two people to shoot as long as we chose, and for targets. Its not the cheapest range I have been to, but they dont gauge the customers either.
For all of you negative reviewers.I have been using Dietz range for many years. Back in the 90s I was there at least twice a week even bought into the yearly membership. We have to remember and think about all of the changes we have had over the past decade.Gun sales have jumped and more and more people are out learning to shoot. This makes it more difficult for the owners of the ranges to keep it safe for all of us. Pistol range master has the hardest task ( I would not want his job) Imagine everyone there has a pistol in there hand walking around pointing it everywhere. He has no idea if it has a load in it or not. He has to be like a drill sergeant at all times. This is done for you, so you dont have to be carried out in the back of a coroners van.Now think of the rifle range set up. Most people there have long guns setting on sand bags facing down range. (I use this loosely) The rifle range master has it a little bit easier. with the exception of those who shoot off shoulder or prone, they are packing the rifle around pointing it in all directions while moving around. The range master is going to be more uptight with these guys and will be watching them more closely I know I was one of these guys a year ago, I have never been watched as close with a bolt action rifle as I was with a AR platform (Its just a given) Common sense needs to be used all the time there.Gun control isnt just hitting the target, it is more than that muzzle control is just as important in this environment.Lets be safe at the range respect each other and help the range masters by showing them we are responsible gun owners and we respect there range rules. If we all could do this no one would be giving remarks about a rude range master working there.
I like the fact that they have a 200 yd area and a roof to shade the sun and benches behind the shooting line to place your gear and other guns. Theres a place on the SW part of San Antonio that has a 300 yard area but I had to lay all my extra things in the dirt or mud. I shot two pistols, three rifles, and one shotgun all for $15 which included two paper targets. I shot at the 25 yd, 50 yd, 100 yd, and the 200 yd rifle distances as well as the pistol area and shotgun area. The pistol range master is very anal but I guess thats OK because he doesnt know how much shooting experience everyone has. Safety first is the best policy when shooting with a bunch of strangers. Its not new or fancy but gets the job done.
Great time at Dietz. The site director, David is a super guy who taught me a lot. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable experience. Knowledgeable and friendly range staff. Great place to shoot.
Great professional supervisor on the range. Well placed shooting area. Against reasonable pricing.
Handgun RO needs to go!!!Thinks he’s better then what he is, will be taking my business elsewhere.
This place is a joke. I didnt know they were closed and the old grumpy fart yelled at me and said, only members are allowed. He proceeded to ignore me when I had questions about the hours of operation. Nowhere on the website does it say theyre closed. They dont answer the phone. Maybe if the Dietz owner didnt just sit around smoking cigarettes and drinking beer he would have a half decent range instead of a sorry one.
Enjoyed the range. Mr. David was very helpful. Thanks!
Good place to go for sighting in your rifle. Ranges from 25-200 yds. I avoid the pistol range unless Im the only one on it due to how they have it set up.
Staff was friendly, even while repermanding shooter. Price was reasonable. My favorite thing, though, was how the lanes on the pistol range is are lined in old brass.
Ive been going to Dietz for about 6 years now. My boys are learning about rifle and handgun safety and operation now 6 year old and 9 year old. Wife is a very proficient shooter and safety is a top priority with her as well as I. The rifle range master was very courteous and very observant. The pistol range master however was more worried about picking up the brass he wanted and my wifes supervision of my 6 year old. She was constantly giving my 6 year old verbal commands while keeping her hands on the pistol and he was complying with every command given to him. The range master was freaking out over it being a 6 HK USP ELITE (I guess he thought it was a bit much for her and him). She had complete control of our 6 year old and the 9mm target pistol. The pistol range master very disappointing as he basically hovered over them the entire time, at one point saying she doesnt know what shes doing. Sad to say this is my last time at Dietz, I cannot return to this range as Ive witnessed this all myself. Wow is all I can say, believe me Im bitting my tongue as I write this.
Was here shooting my 2 arms in the rifle range and look over to my left at the pistol range and the pistol range master has got his gun aimed right at me and my friend then he trys to say he had it aimed at ground.
Went with my father for the first time at the pistol range. They run a tight ship with friendly staff. Give it a shot.
Not growing up with guns and self interest got me to practicing as with them. First time shots with a glock, knew the basics what to do but the range master went out of his way after only watching me do one clip as and g and showed me how not to loose my thumb in the future... great place to bring out your hole arsenal and friends... no worries you can bring your owne ammo and targets. at only 15 $ a person.. maybe Im still new but it just dosnt make since to pay 20-25$ for one damn hour at other ranges
First visit to Dietz last Sunday and will be probably the last. Folks in office were nice, and price for a day of shooting was excellent. Range condition seemed good - not a Taj Mahal but very serviceable. Only negative ( and a big one to me) was the safety officer on the pistol range. Seemed very impressed with himself and his power over everyone. Rude, arrogant, and simply unsafe. Range was busy with most benches full, yet this yo-yo decided it was time to set up a press and spend his time reloading. Occasionally would get up as it pleased him, call a cease fire, and go pick up brass. Thought a range safety officer was supposed to make sure the shooters were safe and range under control????? Guess this place has a different definition.
Not the nicest range I have ever been to . but the people there are great and its more like going out shooting with a bunch of friends than being at the range with strangers that happen to be there too . I think because of the way the pistol range is set up its easier to socialize .and many people have let me shoot their guns and they can shoot mine, which is really a great way to plan that next gun purchase .I know there are several guns I have wanted that I no longer want and many that I never considered that I really want to own...the staff is courteous and helpfull .and their ammo prices arent too bad either, usually about what it would cost to drive to academy or cabellas to buy it .and its right there in case the urge to squeeze out another 50 rounds is too strong to resist
Fun, I really wanted to stretch out my new AR and just burn rounds. No rapid fire allowed though
Clean, safe range Marshalls on top of whats going on great local place to shoot always was able to shoot without waiting due to being crowded.
Price is good but staff are grumpy and rude. I would recommend finding somewhere else. my friends and I wont be returning.
Good price to go to the range. First pistol firer sets the distance, so if you want long range you may have to wait for an opportunity. No brass pickup as evidence from the ground at the range.
Great price and great range will return. Most of all the best staff.
Excellent staff and the other patrons were equally awesome. Wil most certainly go back.
Horrible customer service!!!! Pistol range master seeks more pride in humiliating someone than safety. He has an attitude like someone that couldnt get promoted in the Marines & was forced out... Dont waste your money unless you just enjoy being treated this way.
These guys are as rude and unprofessional as they come. This is the second time they have insulted me. I will never consider going back to their range after the phone call I had with one of their employees this morning. To make a long story short he called me an idiot for asking if the range portion of the company is open for Good Friday. Im not sure about you guys but I would much rather do business with someone who is professional and welcoming to customers who are paying for the use of their facility. Every single review you read about the rules not being posted properly around the rage is spot on as well. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNSAFE.
Clean, safe and friendly. Best range for 50 miles!
The range itself is fine. Moderately Dilapidated and in disrepair but generally usable for general purpose shooting. Not the nicest range out there but is very affordable if you spring for the $150 annual pass. This has been the best investment I have made since I took up this hobby. I wish I wouldve done it sooner. I particularly like the annual pass for the sole fact I can show up after closing hours (6 p.m) and not be burdened by the power tripping range masters and rude staff inside the store.I have mixed sentiments towards the staff here...they can act like your best buddy and talk with you for an hour straight about reloading ammo, then, the next minute make a stupid, snide remark about me having a personal problem for needing to go back to my vehicle to get more targets.I generally can tolerate David the Range Master whom usually runs the pistol side. Aside from his cocky attitude and him constantly power tripping on the patrons when it comes to small nuances of handgun edicate such as; 1. keeping the slides locked back, or 2. magazines unloaded...These are very understandable requests which does indeed ensure the safety of everyone there. He has told me about several accidents which does indeed justify the way he operates the range. His delivery however, is very gruff and abraisive. This must stem from his Military/ Marine background which is ingrained in him. Aside from his cocky attitude he is ok. I wouldnt define him as generally rude exactly but overly self assured and arrogant.. however... I cant deny his encyclopedic knowledge of handguns and his advice on improving accuracy and shooting patterns/strategies which has served as a useful suppliment to my shooting repertoire.Rudy is a great guy and very easy going and friendly. He is the polar opposite of David the Range master. I would definitely prefer him over David when it comes to his general attitude and interpersonal communication skills.Like other reviewers have mentioned, the staff are not always the most professional in their delivery over the phone for example: I called and was spoken to in a very condescending manner when I asked if the range was open. Their response was No, were just here answering the phone for the fun of it. That made me want to go over there and give him a piece of my mind. When the staff there act like this, I ask myself Is this really worth getting worked up over? I just put myself in their position and realise that they are old men that ended up Trapped there and will, in reality, perish there, most likely mid sentence like one reviewer said... loading brass and smoking a cancer stick. I hate to be so blunt, but when I put this in perspective.. it supercedes anything stupid that might come out of that human beings mouth. These two employees I mentioned have their flaws, but by no means should be terminated for their imperfections. They are people like the rest of us and have their bad days. I can only imagine what its like working at a gun range all day. Day after day, year after year.** I would like to bring to the owners attention a very rude and generally unhappy looking fellow that works in the shop. He has a long pony tail and glasses. (Not to be confused with the range master David) This particular employee was very rude to me today. I simply asked to rent the spotting scope. He responded by saying twice in a very aggressive and overly assertive tone we dont rent out the scope. I just looked at him like okay jackass, I know I used the wrong verb just give me the F&*@%#$ scope. I feel like he might be a closet raging alcoholic or in the middle of lengthy divorce. I always get the impression that he hates his job and wants to out himself. I know these are harsh words.. but he is generally a very vile human being. I hope he finds god and learns how to treat people right and finds a good home group for AA meetings. **I generally like the range aside from these minor irritants. For this reason, I give Dietz 3 stars.
Fantastic customer service and a great range to shoot at, extremely safe environment. Defiantly will be there more often
Great prices and staff, cant wait to go back.
Wanted to take my son for some pistol training and AR familiarization and other ranges where i normally shoot were closed. The range officer on the pistol range was terrible. Multiple people on the firing line shooting and walking back and forth to the covered area to get more mags (since you couldnt have more than two at the firing line). Saw multiple cases of poor muzzle discipline but RO wasnt paying attention. After a cease fire, we were the first to the line after he called the range hot. Wanted to shoot from 7 yards since i was teaching my son fundamentals. Noticed a husband and wife starting to shoot from 10 yards. i had to call the ROs attention to it. My son had a couple of malfunctions so i took the pistol and popped off three rounds in fairly rapid succession. He came over and told me that rapid fire was not allowed. I have no problem with that being a range rule but in light of everything else he DID NOT do, i thought that was strange. Because it was a new range (for me) i asked multiple questions to insure i was complying with their range rules. We then went to the rifle range to shoot the AR. This was just the opposite as range officer was in control and very competent. He was clearly prior military so i would expect nothing less.I see many reviews of gun ranges where people complain about the rules, that the people running the range are rude, etc. i have a different take. i appreciate the liability of the range owners and that safety has to be everything. i will never complain about stringent rules (rapid fire in this case) as long as the objective is safety. Had my only experience been with the rifle RO, Id probably give it 3 or 4 stars. I would suggest that the pistol range tends to have the least experienced shooters. That was my sense today with some to the technique i observed. That is were only the best RO should be assigned. I did not feel safe on their pistol range and i will not return. The good news is that it was a great teaching opportunity for me to show my son a number of unsafe gun handling examples.
This place needs some maintenance done. The frames that hold the targets are all so rottten and old, you can barely staple a target on them. Dont go if it is raining either, the roofs leak over the benchs, which gets your gear and firearms wet. The old man with beard at rifle range is UNFREINDLY, and rude. Nasty restrooms, dont expect your woman to want to use them. It is run down, not being managed well at all. Actually both range ( LOL) officers need some work on their people skills, and manners, wonder how many times the long hair hippie looking guy been knocked on his ass because of his mouth? He seems like a frustrated guy who couldnt make the military or police dept. The handgun range is a joke, standing 10 feet from the target because everyone must stand where first person chooses, its a joke . They have a reputation as being jerks, and rude, heard that at other ranges and from many. Maybe if they spent some money, fixed the place up a bit, and hired some decent range help, it could improve. Positive side, is you can shoot and they guys inside the shop are friendly .
Well we have been 2 times. The ONLY reason we go back is because its close. We might go once every 2 months, but rather drive 45 minutes to a better range. The inside staff is always great.butFirst visit the range master on the pistol side is a little stern and not too friendly, but thats easily over looked. First shooter sets the distance(BS), an older man thats buddies with rangemaster made us move back ten feet so he could shoot his big revolver from a distance and he was an ass about it. Alot of idiots were out there as well. With semi auto subs, bags and bags of guns.2nd visit.Everyone on the range was nice and range master was a little more friendly this time. But the same issue again, I was teaching my wife to shoot her new gun at 15ft and the same older man came up and said we have to move back. I asked why. and he said because he said so. I said whatever and went and sat back down. Waited till everyone else was done and went back out on the range and I will be damd if that gentelman and another older fella didnt come out and tell us to move back so they could shoot at 25ft. So we just left.Basicly, range is kinda crappy on the pistol side, target hangers are junky, and the veteran range users feel they are a boss of some sort. Its worth the drive to go to a better range.
Prices went up to $15.00 per person. I thought it was a bit steep for the service given. Pistol range officer is questionable (range officer will rub you the wrong way if you dont have thick skin), rifle range is okay.
Guy at the counter was very friendly, very helpful, Rangemaster is a condescending prick. Decided to take our business elsewhere.
Great place to shoot and best range in the area, for the people who have been complaining about the rudeness Ive never experienced it the range masters are very friendly and helpful but I guess some people are just sensitive when given advice. Cant beat the price either
Only place anywhere within an hour drive with more than 100 yds for rifle. Unfortunately, their pistol range is terrible. EVERY shooter is required to shoot from the same distance.
Dietz is as Texas as you can get ! If you are a tourist, go somewhere else.
Love to shoot there.
The range officers are incompetent and very rude + $15 is way to much for what you get, it should be more like $10
Great Range
Fun place
Its just alright.
