Just get rid of the manager Reid and most of this place’s problems/complaints would go away.Just look through the comments, this guy hasn’t got a clue how to handle upset customers, or how to retain business.Egotistical, vindictive, greedy, and flat out ignorant are the best ways to describe this man.I’ve never seen someone work so hard at being so terrible. Someone so delusional and oblivious to what’s right in front of them.So many decent employees, very nice facilities, but management is a plague on this place. How sad…
Great customer service and expert knowledge of equipment. Clean and well maintained business and range. Safety protocols in place to make a safe experience. Lessons are informative and instructor is patient and well trained. Have purchased several guns from them and never been disappointed. Love doing business with them.
****BEWARE!!!********STAY AWAY*****This place will rip you off every chance they get. From charging 2-3 times more for gun transfers ($80!), to over priced guns and silencers, to crazy expensive ammo. They charge $1 per round for $0.65 ammo. Shameful. They will tell you they list everything at lowest msrp they are allowed to. LolThe classes and membership is overpriced and the extremely high membership fee of $120 has to be paid again! if your membership lapses even for one month! They will scam you with a giant smile.DO NOT DEGRADE YOURSELF BY DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE.
My fiancee and I are beginner gun owners/users. Reed was our instructor for a safety course and was very patient, professional, and knowledgeable. We both left feeling much more confident about our purchase and highly recommend Reed for anyone looking for instruction. A very clean and good looking range, we look forward to return visits!
A nice facility but the hours are terrible and customer service is a joke. Take note of the arrogance of the owner’s response to all these reviews. Want be long this place will be under new ownership. Definitely want be recommending this place to anyone.
Gun range was well managed, the employees were above and beyond.
I went here on a Tuesday because it was ladies day and I would receive half off. I was terrified going in alone and being female. I was instantly put at ease. Everyone was very nice, patient and informative. I will be going back and bringing more females with me! Thank you so much for not making me feel awkward and for all your help!!!
Extremely rude and arrogant staff.... all the way up to management. Signed up for an annual membership and prepaid to get the best price. This happened just prior to COVID. Made our first trip back to use the range and found the place locked up tight. The hours listed on the website didn’t match up. Called the next day and was told the hours had been changed due to COVID. Based on the new hours and our working schedules we were unable to visit as planned. Maybe made 2 trips over the course of the year. Then the membership was automatically renewed (in the contract I’m sure ~ just didn’t remember that being the deal). Called to discuss initiation fee because I could really afford it due to our reduction in income thanks to COVID. Was spoken down to and very rudely addressed for not handling my finances and needing my hand held etc... the only way to cancel is in person, which required time off work due to their crazy limited hours!! They were just as rude and condescending in person!!
I love this gun shop, the products and the staff! My only complaint is the unreal FFL Transfer fee. I had a $400 dollar Beretta sent there from out of state and the FFL transfer was $75! How can you possibly justify that when there is a pawn store down the same road that is only $20. Like its a privilege for them to fill out the paperwork. Incredible. Last time I use them for transfers. Other than that, they[re really great, prices arent awesome, but if you want the best stuff in inventory, then its going to cost a premium, which it does here.
I’ve been a member since MGC opened 3/2015 and I’ve never been disappointed in their service. My latest purchase is a custom AR.It is smooth and accurate and Chris, the armorer, used the best parts. And it wasn’t easy given our current environment. Five stars and three cheers!
The training course I took was great hunter helped out a bunch and made sure we left the training confident. Taught us a lot of stuff well worth the money for the knowledge and hands on experience. Also the range itself is nice and the staff is really helpful and friendly definitely recommend this place to all.
Great facility, very clean and modern. Professional and friendly staff.
I usually sight my guns in at the Range in Austin. But they had an incident/damage that closed there long rifle range down this week. So I decided to give McQueeny Gun Club a try. I decided to just pay the fee and let the gunsmith sight the rifle in for me this time. I will make the final adjustments at a later date if needed. So far so good, the cost for sighting is very reasonable, a little over $50. When most ranges charge 75$ or more. The staff was friendly and made a smooth transaction in dropping off the firearm and ammunition. I will post another review after I receive the rifle back and sighted in. Letting everyone know how close the grouping is and on target. It’s my sons savage axis 2 with a vortex diamondback 40 optic. Very good entry hunting rifles that usually have good groupings. Will post again next week with the final results. I hope it stays at five stars and this becomes my new go to place!…………. Well unfortunately I had to change my review. I dropped two rifles off for my son for their sight in service. A savage 30-06 with a vortex scope and a mossberg wooden stock 30-06 with a vortex scope. Dropped off 180 grain ammo for both. They told me they sighted them in at 100 yards. We took them out Friday hog hunting AND THEY WERE BOTH SO FAR OFF. I went to the range in Austin and at 50 yards they were no where close to the target and didn’t even hit the board at 100. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Total waste of money! Will not be using them for any services in the future! If they decide to reply back to this post I will gladly bring you the bill from the range in Austin. And you can reimburse us for all of our troubles. Lesson learned. I just received your response. Unfortunately I figured that would be the type of response that I would have received. One of no ownership or responsibility. In the future I will do more research and read the reviews better. One fluke I can understand but two is just inexcusable. I just hope that in the future a business like this does a little more research on who they hire to do the jobs. Especially when firearms are involved.
I am SO happy my husband convinced me to take a fire arm training class,at McQueeney Gun Club!Hunter was a respectable, patient, very articulate young man, and most of all; an excellent instructor. If this is your first time ever handling a fire arm, let Hunter be your guy. I highly recommend him.
Great patient people when you go! I received my concealed carry with this Range and I feel good about the people that work here.God Bless you all.
Crooked place, I paid for a class that I was told I could schedule whenever I had time. I moved and they wont refund or give credit.
Staff will take advantage of those who don’t know any better. Looked into making a purchase there some time back and the salesman flat out lied to me about a product. Once more I attempted to get a quote from them and they refused to give me one without filling out a product request form. Just call the distributor, add your mark up and give me a price...Drive out to San Antonio or Bulverde.I was in person asking for a quote. I was told to fill out a request form ? Tried twice, drove down the road and they got my business instead.. owner is lying in his response.
This is a fantastic place with sooooo much to offer! From Novice or Expert. The Staff are super knowledgeable and they take safety and training serious! They have some amazing weapons and a lot of other equipment to offer, which means you’ll enjoy poking around at everything and you won’t want to leave! They offer memberships, events and also personalized training, as well as, other training such as the Texas License To Carry and much more. Their indoor range is truly awesome to fire in. Worth the drive and the membership! Feels like a second home or family.
I was waiting on one of the guys behind the counter to finish chatting with another customer because the other one was actually making a sale, when he was finished he ignored me and asked someone else if he could help them. That guy said he was browsing and waiting on a lane for the range, unlike me who was ready to buy.Still standing there looking at what little they had left. The first customer said well i guess ill buy a box of 9mm.The guy behind the counter walked right past me and didnt say a word .. I.e. ill be with you soon or someone will be with you soon.Maybe he doesnt like black people, because i felt very unwelcome.I had my first and last experience here.
Worst gun store in the area overpriced everything if you love $50-200 markups this is the place to go and dont miss your chance to hear the well other places dont have the range and here your paying for our knowledge and guidance blah blah blah speach if you respect yourself as a gun owner stay away
Very good customer service. Took care of an issue without any problems. Highly recommend.
Solid crew. A clean professional place to go. Weve been to other clubs and this is far better.
I took a gun class at this place! I received great instructions. This is a very clean, friendly and well supplied club!
Been a member for a year and look forward to continuing training there. Jordan and rest of staff have been extremely helpful and provide amazing customer service whenever I need assistance.
Nice store/range and very clean. Lots of guns/knives to look at and staff seem knowledgeable from the little I talked with them. We were there with friends who have a membership at the range and we had 2 lanes. Range master went over the rules explaining everything in detail. Range master was a little clingy I felt than pretty much any other place we have been to which I found odd but no biggie. One of my buddies had to ask him to give us some space it was making us uncomfortable. When we went to check out we were told it would be an additional $25 for hitting a baffle. When we asked who it was and when no one knew. They couldn’t tell us when or who or what lane. Just that it happened. All of us there are experienced shooters including the two retired military gentlemen we were with as well.Nice place but to pricey for me for the range for1 hour. I also prefer outside but that is only a matter of opinion.
The folks at McQueeney are always friendly and welcoming. We started membership there about a year ago, and since then it has become a place we really like to spend weekends. Also, the member rates are fantastic. If you shoot at the indoor range a lot, you will save money for sure. This weekend we took advantage of the LTC class held at the range. Other than it being a very full class, it was a great experience. The instructor was very competent and knowledgeable, answered all the questions in a timely fashion. McQueeney even fed us breakfast and lunch! Thanks yall
Arrived right as they opened. The staff were excellent and all was well. Then we went into the range and they stated that the owner does not allow us to keep our own brass. That was ok (still dont understand why I cannot keep MY OWN expended brass, but ok, they want to sell the brass to make some money). Then they inquired about our ammunition. Apparently they dont allow reloaded ammunition. In this time of shortages and ammunition being ridiculously expensive IF YOU FIND IT, and super hard to come by, I dont understand why this range has an issue with reloaded ammunition. If it werent for being able to reload, I wouldnt have ammunition to go to the range..... You already have to sign a hold harmless agreement and the bays are separated, so having an issue with reloads (when not other ranges in the area have issues with it is a big fail. Truly understand that the staff is just following procedures established by the owner, but when they inquire about my ammunitionbecause they dont allow reloads that is where I have a problem. If it werent for the excellent attitude by the staff, it would have only warranted one star to ensure the review could be posted. So rating of the staff excellent, rating of the Range bad. Overall, Im glad that there are plenty of other ranges to go to, because my time and money will not be returning to McQueeny Gun Club.
Awesome range, employees are very helpful and friendly. Had a great time there.
Nice range, friendly staff, good specials on Tuesdays and Fridays. Conveniently located.
As a former Marine, this is a little slice of heaven for me. A great range with everything you need to upgrade your firearms or find something you have been searching for. Good prices!
Staff tried to tell me all vortex crossfire scopes were rimfire only.Edit: they said all crossfires. I was not getting the scope from y’all I was buying online. I was going to order the rings from y’all. When they ask me what size rings and I showed them the scope online, (not the 2-7 rimfire) they told me the crossfire series is rimfire only, then proceeded to try to sell me a diamondback.
Bought a membership for a year. The membership expired and five months later they are still charging me 40 dollars a month. I called to see if I can cancel because I am out of town and the rude gentleman on the other end says I must come in to cancel the membership (states it’s in the contract) but won’t even email me a copy of the contract I signed. Very unprofessional. Will not be going back after I waste my time to go cancel my membership in person.
Beautiful facilities. Great airflow for an indoor range in my opinion. I think this is probably a great range for an experienced individual. I would consider myself intermediate with handguns and a beginner with rifles. We went with some friends who have a membership there and I tried some of their rifles for the first time as did their 13 year old daughter who got a new 22 for her birthday. They do warn you multiple times if you hit the ceiling you will be charged for property damage. The ceiling is quite low so if shooting at a distance and aiming for the top of a target if not skilled hitting the ceiling is extremely easy to do. We were all very cautious but when we went to pay at the end we were charged for hitting the ceiling. We were never told someone had hit it nor were they able to tell us who or which lane out of our 2 someone hit it from. Again, I think this is probably a great range for those who are more experienced but if you are looking to work on your skills or try new guns for the first time I suggest trying elsewhere.
You will not find a more knowledgeable, polite, helpful group of people at any other range. The shop is top notch and carries a wide range of quality products. Even if they do not carry the exact item you are looking for, they will track one down for you! I’ve purchased everything from handguns, stripped lowers, suppressors, and they also set me up with an NFA trust. They have just about all the accessories you might want/need and some you may not even know exist. The staff made my wife feel very comfortable and confident when she was selecting a EDC. We took our LTC class there as well and again all the instructors and staff made it such an enjoyable experience for my wife and I, McQueeney earn lifelong members.
I’ve been to the Mcqueeny Range on multiple occasions and had two guns worked on last year with no problems with good customer service. The range attendant is professional and very aware and personable. But Thanksgiving week I had family in town and brought my in laws to shoot. We were unaware that if you go one minute over the time for the range you’re charged full price for the second hour. We thought we had used only an hour, but by the time the clerk rang us up on the computer he charged for two hours for the three of us. I looked at my watch and told him it looked to be the same time we started but one hour later. As he was in the computer and running our card we asked to use the additional hour and he said he’d have to charge the initial range fee because he had already got into the system. It was a nightmare and embarrassing as my father in law was paying for us and now had to pay essentially double. The clerk didn’t care, blamed it on the computer timing system. We weren’t rude, my father in law was gracious, but clearly disappointed as he paid the double price. I apologized to him in the parking lot as it ruined what could have been a good day visiting our area. I’ve spent several hundred dollars over the last couple of years at Mcqueeny, but it was enough to take me elsewhere from now on.
Just wanted to say thanks to Reed for helping me with my purchase today. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks
We were impressed by their selection, but quite unimpressed by the service. I had some questions, but the staff seemed burdened by them. We asked about getting a drop-leg retention holster for a firearm that was bought at McQueeney... and the clerk kept telling us that he needs the gun specifics. We know they can just look it up, but they would not even attempt to, even though we told him the brand, caliber and that it was a 1911. We looked at an AR-15 that they had on the wall that had a $2k price tag, then asked them if they had any Colt AR-15s. The clerk promptly told us... We dont pay for the pony, and scoffed. Seems pretty ridiculous to say that after he just showed us a $2000 AR-15, when a Colt costs under $1000. Sadly enough, we had spend close to $2000 in this shop in the past, but they treated us like we were bums off of the street.Since then, we have been looking into other smaller firearm shops. They got 2 stars from me due to their selection... otherwise would have been 1 star.
Waste of time. Put my head in to look around. Left The Range in Austin as a member after moving south. At first impulse the place is nice. Could only glance at hand gun lanes, clean and so on. Looking at their pistols and rifles nice selection. Then the sales person opens his mouth. Pushing $3,000 pistols doesnt wanna talk about anything else. I wasnt there to buy. I wanted a membership I was just looking he insulted a weapon Ive used and seen used all in an effort to push me on something Im not there to do.Really cant see myself coming here and have the staff (if he is a representative of the rest) looking down their nose at me.
Staff was not very helpful nor were they very knowledgeable about simple repairs such as replacing a rear takedown pin. Would not recommend seeking advice from sales associates.
Took my Father and son to the range for a family outing. Very nice facility with friendly knowledgeable staff and an awesome assortment of firearms. Reason for deductions: 1. Price: We were 3 shooters with our own firearms and ammo for 1 hour. Our total for range fees = $79.46. They charged me $25 extra because my son chipped the paint on the clamp that holds the target (they repaint it when you leave so its fresh and easy to spot). Otherwise it would have been $54.46 (like that is much better). 2. The touch screen target mover does not work right. You have to repeatedly touch the buttons in order for target to move. I spent more time trying to get my target to come back to the line then shooting. Fancy, but a simple 3 way toggle works awesome. Sadly, I will not be returning to this beautiful facility to use the range. I may purchase a firearm there, but shooting will be done at my favorite old beat-up outdoor range. Go check it out though...just bring $$$$.
--The range is new and well equipped. Lighting, ventilation, and target support are excellent.--Soundproofing is very good; Range noise is negligible in the store.--The price is reasonable; I especially liked the military discount.--I liked the selection of firearms, ammunition, and accessories. My tastes are old school (M1911 & revolvers); however, McQueeney has a good selection of modern firearms and accessories.
I ordered a gun from Buds Gun shop online. I had it delivered to McQueeney Gun Club so I was able to do the transfer paperwork. Ive been having issues with the rifle and was told by Remington to have it sent in so they could take a look at it. But I needed my transfer paperwork to show proof of transfer. I called McQueeney Gun Club and was transferred from employee to employee. I finally had a male employee flat out tell me that he would have to go through mounds and mounds of paperwork to get my transfer paperwork. He flat out didnt want to do it, and didnt do it. This has been the third big issue with this company.Do yourself a favor and dont waste your time. Unless youre throwing money at them you will receive no help. You would think that as a company you would keep that paperwork readily available for legal reasons. As of today, I have spent my last dollar there..***As per the response from the gun club. I never yelled at any of the employees. I did state the person the gun was getting transferred from numerous times. How else would you get the paperwork? The employee flat out said he’d have to go through mounds and mounds of paperwork and refused to do so. All I said was, “ Are you telling me that you can’t get my transfer paperwork?? You’re the only gun shop I’ve ever had tell me that. So apparently your employee is not being honest. And also, I was never once told that I would get my paperwork. In fact I got the opposite.
I purchased a new M&P shield from them, only to find cosmetic issues with it once I got home and could closely inspect the firearm. Upon inspection I noticed the pistol had more than the standard test fire wear and tear on it, complete with a bit carbon build up and brass flakes. I waited until the next business day to call the McQueeney Gun Club and notify them of the issue. I was told to bring the fire arm in and let them look at it. I drove all the way back there and showed them the issues I had found, and even had them compare my new pistol with their used range rental M&P pistol that is currently for sale. Sure enough, that used range gun looked to be in better condition than my new purchase. The sales associate told me that I would get no refund, or even a used price discount, he told me to send my firearm back to Smith and Wesson which insulted me. A kind associate nearby over heard my issues and offered to clean the gun for me and offered me free range time for my troubles. I declined his offers. I left the store with my trust betrayed, looking like a fool. I will not be giving this business any more of my money. Buyer beware, conduct a good break down and inspection of any firearm that you purchase before filling out paperwork and leaving the shop.
I was about to purchase an ar15 pistol and the background check came delayed. The staff told me theres 2 options its either I pay the full price and they will hold the item for me or cancel. I asked if i pay the full price which was $1049 if I can get my money back if it came back denied. I was told they wont refund my money because state law wont allow them after the purchase. In my mind how can there be a purchase if I didnt get the stuff i paid for in the first place? So i cancelled.
First experience of an American gun range. Staff were friendly and welcoming to a visitor from the UK. They explained everything and went through the safety. They let my friends go through the guns and help with shooting without interfering. Range is 100 yards inside with 10 bays in total.
Always enjoyable to me. I usually get in during the week and never have to deal with many other shooters. I bring my own targets (And my own staple gun. Because I get the feeling the young guys working the range are more afraid of me getting my hands on a staple gun than the bagful of Glocks I walked in with) I usually browse the selection in the store on my way out. Even though Im not really in the market for anything right now. The staff is always attentive and respectful. Its pretty much become my go-to range even though I have to go out of my way to visit.
This place is awesome. I like it and am considering signing up for a full membership. Ive been going once a week now for over a month now and so far have not had any problems with service or any questions. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. I would recommend this range to anyone.
This place is awesome! Great selection of firearms and accessories! I have been here several times, and would recommend it to anyone. Only recommendation is avoid dealing with Reid Lincoln. He is not very friendly, and Ive had issues in dealing with him in the past. Besides that, 5 out of 5 on the other staff, and the facility!
Staff was nice...went with a friend who had a membership...price for 1 person way to steep and if you exceeded the hr. My understanding was you had to pay for another full hr.? Correct me if I am wrong management. The range is nice but you are not the only game in town. Price for an hr. Is unreasonable. Will not attend this range again.
Great job in providing great service!
McQueeney Gun Club has an extensive selection of quality firearms, their custom work is outstanding. I’ve had several handguns cut for optics and then cerekoted they came out perfect. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. The range is well maintained and the RSO’s are attentive and well trained.Highly recommended.
These guys and gals are just bad ass. They made getting my trust set up about as easy as it could be. I bought my first suppressor from them and am very happy with the way everything worked out. Very knowledgeable staff and a good sized inventory.
I was an excellent customer for over a year. My wife and I bought 2 firearms, took our CHL class there, and bought a very expensive 1 year range membership. After a year, we moved from the area, and right before we moved, I went in person and filled out their membership cancellations form. They continue to charge me for the membership 4 months later saying that I did not fill out their form. The manager states that they do not provide customers a copy of the cancellation form, but absolutely will not budge if he cant find it in his file. When I proved that I was there in person with a credit card transaction, he was not willing to look in his records to verify that.I am quite disappointed as I still travel to the area occasionally and would like to continue to shoot there. Its a very nice range, but the manager is very inexperienced in dealing with problems that arise. The gun shop is also extremely over priced. We decided to buy both guns there because we liked the range and were willing to pay outrageous prices to do business with a range we liked. Sadly, our loyalty was certainly not acknowledged or returned.
Very friendly and strictly adhere to safety protocols.
This is a great firearms store. I’m just here on TDY but wanted to look at some specific guns and the gentlemen that was helping me was great. I let him know my situation and that I wouldn’t be buying anything but he took the time to show me what I wanted to look at and was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I’m definitely glad I stopped by. If I was stationed here I would’ve walked out with a new gun.
I can not adequately express how amazing this place is.The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We went to three other ranges before this and it only took us one visit here to know this was where we wanted a membership. Whether you want private lessons, your LTC class, or just want to put some holes in paper, this is an excellent place to do it!Thank you to everyone at McQueeney Gun Club for providing such a wonderful environment for my family and I to learn.
Rude staff. Really rude. Makes you not want to shoot anymore. Never going back.
The Staff @ MGC is Phenomenal. I’ve been taking lessons from Josh for about 4 months now. He is highly knowledgeable in instructing/Training and a great all around guy. I’ve noticed a huge improvement shooting pistols. Zack has done work on multiple pistols on mine. His quality of work and attention to detail is unmatched. The entire staff is very affable and willing to help in any way they can. I would highly recommend MGC for anyone looking to form a long time relationship with a great group of people.
I have a problem rating this place because its really two businesses. The range (4): Good indoor range when compared to others in the SA/NB area. Range prices are not bad if one considers its per hour not per gun. Your could find cheaper ranges if your only shooting one gun or have numerous people with you. If you want A/C, firing more than one gun and alone... its worth it. Oh... The range staff was friendly. The gun store (2): the staff was friendly but WOW... this place is expensive and, I feel, overpriced. So much so it made the staff appear arrogant (gun snobs). I have no idea if this is true... However, who else would charge so much? Ever walk into a store and after seeing the prices you say to yourself man... I shouldnt be here? Thats me in this gun store. Even asking a question is wasting everyones time... Because Im not buying here.
My husband and I paid for their concealed handgun course in October. The day before the class, they called my husband to let us know that they had canceled the class. When calling to reschedule a time to take the course again, we were informed by an employee and the manager that we would have to pay $80 a person fee to retake the class because they do not keep records of those who complete their course. We explained to them that we would not be retaking the class if we had our license but they were unwilling to help. Will not be recommending this location to anyone in the future.
Have been a member for months now and love the place, my wife and I and our son just love to shoot there. Love the side of the range with the target tricks. Can give it 5 stars all the time.
Bought many things from here, prices are cheaper if not the same as big stores such as academy and bass pro. Staff is excellent and very knowledgeable. Took my LTC class here as well, great teachers and program all around.
I took my fiance to go rent out a few guns and do some shooting. Facility is new, clean, and looks professional. This staff appears to be mostly prior service guys who are extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and are motivated to offer advice and shooting tips, then get out of your way and let you do your thing! Scheduled us to take the CHL course with them this weekend, cant wait to be back over there! I give props to the owner, manager and staff! Very well ran establishment!
Prices are way above anywhere else, 300% in the case of 9mm, which is why they actually have ammo on hand. I wouldnt suggest this place unless you have unlimited funds or need something right now.
Very rude people. I will bring our business elsewhere
I have never been in the shop before but I have called a few times for Cerakote quotes and the numbers I get from them are so far out of this world I think I’m not going to bother anymore. I want to get my AR-10 handguard cerakoted one color and have my upper assembled. Everyone else I talked to quoted me $150 or so but not these guys. They said it would be $330-$340! More than twice of what everyone else quoted. I wanted to give them the business since they are close to home but I believe its worth it to drive to San Antonio and save $190.
Drove in from Far West Texas. Best Firearms store I have been to In a long long time. Great staff and the inventory was beyond my expectations. These guys know their stuff and it shows.
This place was great. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Range was very clean and safe. Highly recommend.
Brian was great and Trey was awesome. Top notch professionalism. Great job.
This place is awesome! From the knowledge of the staff to the high tech shooting lanes, I love this place. The culture of MGC is amazing and welcomes everyone from beginner to expert shooters. I have had many item purchases from here as well and they do an awesome job updating you of when product has arrive and/or completedDefinitely a supporterJay Sterling
Outstanding indoor gun range - two separate ranges, extensive retail store, lessons and special events available as well as concealed carry lessons. Josh is a spectacular teacher.
It was our first time shooting. Our tutor Michael was very friendly and patient in teaching us the basics. The range master was also an extremely nice gentleman who taught us while we were practicing
Shopping for amo, I got there at 4:30 and store was closed..
ASOME CUSTOMER SERVICE. GREAT PLACE TO GO AND SHOOT . GREAT GUN RANGE. AND A WELL STOCK STORE.
Nice place. Reasonably priced. Only went for the range so cant comment on the shop side. But range and facilities are great.
Great place to shoot. Being a member is easy and affordable. Especially if you shoot a lot. 👍
Friendly place, great workers, excellent gun range. Military & law enforcement friendly. Highly recommended.
Went there with no expectations and was met with hospitality and professionalism. Great indoor range with electronic target control. SO was nice and for the most part stayed out of the way even helped with a jammed AR.
Nice place, good people. Good inventory. Went in to look, got hooked on a Sig 320 now Im in trouble with the boss lady.
Over priced, arrogant people
A fantastic experience. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. I had a great time! A definite 5 stars.
We went there today. Nice and safe place to practice shooting
Not allowed to shoot reloads, which would have been nice to know before we rented a lane. And youre not even able to keep your own brass for some god forsaken reason. A little steep on the prices in my opinion.
AMAZING facility with a great staff. My wife and I LOVE to go there on our date nights.
Awesome place! Great Staff! Matthew the owner knows his stuff.
Buyer beware: no refunds, even perfect condition next day return for something like the wrong size belt, even with high spending regular polite customers. Told me theyd order the right size belt and then call me. They didnt return messages on multiple occasions so I just wanted my money back. Nope. It took them 4 months to call on the belt.Scott is great and should give lessons on customer service there, he remembers my name when I come in. And the gear/facility is top of the line, but expensive. He responded politely to my poor review. If you buy a membership they give you better prices. Maybe theyll also return your calls too.
I recommend and send a lot of people your way .... after today, that will END. Even brought you business for a customer out of state! Talk about poor customer service from Reid and lack of professionalism. If the owner will message me, I will be glad to discuss further details. Thanks!Edit: As mentioned on your FB page, nothing was illegal about this transaction. If getting a firearms muzzle brake pinned/welded is illegal then you are in the wrong business. If collecting my TX DL to drop off a customers firearm is illegal, once again you are in the wrong business. Reid, your lack of customer service and unprofessionalism is FLAT OUT HORRIBLE. Your lies and false accusations are disgusting.
I love the moving targets and the technology. It is very clean and has a professional staff. Its a little expensive but worth it.
Very nice indoor range with a great and friendly staff. Decent discounts if youre a member along with free range time.
Facility: The merchandise area is clean. All of the merchandise is displayed in an orderly fashion. They have a wide variety of both pistols and rifles as well as optics and accessories. There is a large gunsmith area with a gunsmith on site where they can do just about anything a shooter would need from Cerakote to sight installation to slide modifications to sonic cleaning. The Range area is clean. The Range Safety Officers (RSO) are professional and helpful. You will be charged if you shoot the ceilings or the carriages but there is no reason why anyone should do that. Anyone that incompetent with a firearm, in my opinion, should be taking classes and not shooting alone. McQueeney does offer classes although I have not taken one.I am not completely confident in the ventilation system and I just assume it works well but I have never reviewed their safety records. I will say that in my opinion it sometimes appears there is not adequate ventilation. The system seems to cycle between blowing and not blowing as the temperature raises and lowers. It has always been my understanding that a blower should constantly be on and blowing pretty strongly in order to ensure that lead particulates are pushed downrange away from the shooters. In my opinion this is not always the case at McQueeney but I could be wrong. I have never suffered any symptoms of lead poisoning that I know of although I have not had my blood tested. I bring this topic up because lead poisoning from indoor ranges is a serious issue and most casual shooters are not even aware that they may be subjecting themselves to potential danger. The temperature on the range is often uncomfortable. As I previously mentioned the blowers seem to cycle. The range will be cool for five minutes and then get warmer and warmer to the point where your shooting glasses fog up. It is annoying. The range does allow rifles. Although the lanes are partitioned, if someone is shooting a rifle next to you expect to get gas blown on you. I think shooting a rifle on a 25-yard range for any other reason than acquiring a BZO is a waste of time but who am I.The shooting lanes are really nice. You can shoot out to 25 yards. The carriages are electric which makes it very easy to move and retrieve your targets. Several of the lanes allow for the targets to turn so individuals can conduct time drills etc.A wide selection of guns are available for rent. This includes both pistols and rifles including automatic rifles. They also stock a wide variety of ammunition. The bathrooms are clean. There is D-lead soap available to clean your hands with when you are done shooting.Personnel: The majority of the staff are very friendly and professional and knowledgeable. I have read some reviews referring to the staff as condescending and rude and I have to say I have a hard time believing that. The one exception is Matthew. In my opinion he does at times lack a certain degree of professionalism when dealing with customers.Prices: My main criticism of McQueeney gun club would be the prices are too high. It seems every firearm in the store is sold at or above MSRP. Any firearm you purchase at McQueeney can likely be found anywhere else for a substantially lower price. If you are going to buy a firearm there you are going to pay top dollar. My suggestion would be finding out what firearm you want to purchase by browsing at McQueeney and then going to another dealer to make your actual purchase.Overall, I consider McQueeney Gun Club to be a great establishment. I would give it five stars if the prices were more reasonable.
Very professional staff, very limited on brand of firearms but an excellent selection for the few brands they have.
Ok pricing, not real eager to help. If you buy a suppressor do your trust somewhere else. I dont own a printer or live near by. I drove all the way back up there a few days later after being emailed my trust paperwork. I was assuming if you spend $1500+ they would atleast print off the trust paperwork that was emailed to me. NOPE, was told we dont do that for customers yet they are happy to charge you a $10 fee to notorize YOUR printed copy.... After this process is over I wont spend any money there ever again. What a stupid thing to lose a repeat customer over.
Great place great people. Knowledgable and helpfull.
Ive only just started going to this range so I will update this review in a few months. My first three visits have all been good. The process of signing up for membership was professional and well explained. The RSOs have been helpful, friendly, and safety minded. The range target carrier equipment is new, full featured, and the A/C, lighting, and ventilation work well. On one visit I rented a Walther CCP which functioned well and did not feel like a rent-a-wreck that isnt maintained. The rental gun selection is far better than most places Ive been over the years and includes a dozen full-auto rifles.Plenty of parking, not hard to get to from New Braunfels, and there is a store with quite a good selection of weapons and accessories though I havent bought anything yet. Nor have I tried any of their training. So far, Im a happy camper.
Great environment, people and range. Chris puts on great CHL class.
I have been shooting weekly at MGC since April 2015. The sales, smith, training and range staff are A1.I have learned and achieved more here than in all of my years of shooting. The RSOs are always on the ranges when theyre hot; they not only keep shooting safe but answer questions and solve problems quickly and professionally. My membership makes my twice a week training routine economically feasible.
Some of my LTC students went here to get there fingerprints done. Instead of telling them the new place that does prints was a few miles down the road they told them we dont do it check with the local police dept. I bet thats not what they tell there students. Bunch of a@#holes.
THE place for gun purchases. Knowledgeable staff and great prices!
