Im Happy there open late enough that I can still make it to get some last minute shopping done after I get out of work for the night...they have greatfresh rotisserie chickens and cheese cakes... yummmy!!!!

I had a horrible experience at the stop and shop gas station. An older female gas attendant was extremely rude. She was on the phone and rolled her eyes when i asked her a question. She talked down to me and insisted the problem i had was due to something i changed in my account. When i explained to her that i did not change anything on my end she insinuated that i was lying or had no idea what i was talking about. It wasn’t just me, she was rude towards other customers as well. Someone who belittles customers and acts unprofessionally should not be in customer service.

I used to go to Stop & Shop for grocery shopping. But I found the prices were usually higher than other grocery stores that I went to. (I usually bought unprocessed food, such as vegetables, fruits, raw meat, seafood). Now I go to other stores for regular grocery shopping.

Store is fine good place to shop ..As for GOOGLE MAPS IT SUCKS really the have me turning on to roads going in opposite directions even time I have used it .. I am going back to Waze maps much better and reliable Google maps suck ...

Was harassed by a male on a ladder Thursday June 10th, 2021 that was supposedly sanding the ceiling at the bus stop. I said twice, I dont like you like that, and he looked confused. Stop and Shop on Twitter said DM them but they never responded to me. How professional. If you really hired that boy, which I think is a lie, fire him. Because he is a predator. But Stop and Shop doesnt want to make my shopping experience or my physical safety at the bus stop any better in the least. Its all about money and corporations. Sorry. I wont shop there or go to that plaza if I really dont have to. Yall just lost a customer.

Stop & Shop is nice and clean and everything seems to be available. The problem Ive always had with Stop & Shop is the deli it is a very very slow process for customer service very slow.

I feel like this store is hard to navigate, especially if youre looking for plant-based foods. For example, there s different types of vegan cheese throughout the store and different plant-based food items throughout the store. Store. What Im saying is, if you have one particular brand of vegan cheese, why not group all of the brands together? Also, if you have plant-based milk at one aisle, why have another brand a few aisle over? I just feel like this store needs to be more organized.

I can only give this store a three star review. For the most part, the store itself is clean, most products are readily available and accessible, prices tend to be high for some products and general customer service is okay. The big issue I have is the fact that the bottle room rules due to Covid are not being enforced as they were when the bottle room reopened. I counted numerous violations just this past week alone. If the health inspector shuts down the bottle rooms again, thats not going to be our fault. Thats going to be the stores fault for not enforcing the rules. This needs to be taken seriously. There used to be a guy outside watching the room when they reopened. What happened with that? Seriously... What happened??? Bringing carts in is so much more important than keeping an eye on the bottle room and making sure everyone is safe??? Is that it?? The rules need to be enforced until this pandemic is finally over. PERIOD.

They seem to have hit their stride since the pandemic began -- signage is consistent throughout the store and both north and south entrances are open most hours (was a big inconvenience when the south entrance was closed). Customer service even seems to be better than before. Prices and selection remain good.

Stop & Shop was very good. They opened at 6:00 a.m. which I needed to do a quick stop. Everything was clean organized and in order. Obvious not a lot of people at that time but still there was everybody with masks who were there

I really love Stop & Shop’s array of groceries as well as HVC. The floral department is a nice edition as well. One good thing about working at Stop & Shop. (I formerly did.) is that there is opportunity for growth/ career advancement.

I am here several times a week with my clients. It is never TOO BUSY and The staff are always friendly, helpful and very patient with my clients. Each stop & shop is a little different, carrying items that are in demand to locals. This location (Amity) has a large selection of Kosher products. They also have some of the freshest meats and seafood I have ever seen out of all the local stores.

Wide variety of groceries, never a problem with parking, their curbside pickup could be a bit better as far scheduling the same day, it seems as if next day is the only choice.

I had a very bad experience with a cashier, they are not friendly and they talk to each other with a lot of attitude, she went to find the manager to complain about me for telling her that we should not talk like that, with another employee they murmured about us, thats the worst thing than a Employee can do for customers that we bring the money to get paid to them.

I purchased three bottles of lavender hand sanitizer .When i got in my car i noticed that the smell was way too strong. I tried to exchange them for another brand and was told in a rude manner that they do not accept refunds or exchanges. The customer service rep was nasty.I would give them a zero if i could. I will never shop there again

I loved that this store was open late, for those who get out of work late. I was impressed that this store has a lot to offer for my Ethnicity . I give this store Amity, Ct location 2 thumbs up.

Normally love this Stop and Shop. They have a wide selection, including tons of vegan products. (Im lactose intolerant so vegan dairy is great for me). Online hours do not reflect their actual store hours. They are only open until 8pm not 10pm as google states. Keep that in mind if you plan on shopping during the busy times of the month.

This is the 2nd stop N shop i will avoid going from now on earlier west haven I had a bad experience with rude worker now the same happen here need some help and ask the lady about it she was soo rude .If they dont want to help or having a bad day stay home dont come on work and take out your frustration on others..There is lot of other store which provide much better services.I

Unfortunately this is the worst grocery store. It is the most convenient store for me to go to but I avoid it whenever possible The employees are usually pleasant enough but everything else about it pretty terrible.It is my humble opinion that the leadership needs to:1) Figure out why it stinks so bad by the bathroom/Deli area; there is something very wrong with your cleaning processes2) Spend a little money and make the place not look so run down. Please google Everything Speaks by Dennis Snow and take some notes3) Get way better at checking expiration dates; Everyone in town knows that your store is the worst at selling expired groceries4) Keep more checkout lines open so customers can get in and out quickly; also make sure employees are paying attention and quick to react when customers are struggling at the self checkout line.5) Spend a little time at Trader Joes and see what a successful store looks like.Many people in town go way out of their way to avoid your store so I hope you are able to make significant changes and save my neighbors and I time by at least being a store that we dont mind going to.

Being a small woman I felt unsafe in the parking lot. 3 large men circled me in their car as I put my cart back then followed me to my car and parked next to me, all 3 staring the whole time. I drove away before I even put my seat belt on. Unsafe for women. Even if you carry a small weapon, you wont win against 3 large men. Go to the safer stop n shop please.

The store itself is usually busy but well stocked. My real issue is with the parking lot and the panhandlers outside. Every time I go (usually using the door on the left side of the storefront) there is some type of beggar or panhandlers asking for a donation. They need to do better with not letting people loiter outside. Most recently it was a woman with an empty cart and a photo of an older woman. She kept yelling you wanna donate to everyone that walked past her.

The produce is hit or miss. Never enough check outs open. The deli is always on point. I only go here because New Haven is a food desert.

I was treated with personal attention and given the help beyond measure from your employee. I wish I knew her name. I forgot my money and she took my items and put them to the side until I came back. Not only that but she took me to her register and waited on me right away. She made my day with her helpfulness. Thank her very much.

Great place to shop for all your household needs. Fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh cut meats, and a great frozen food section. The flower shop and pharmacy are great perks to the store. Love shopping at stop &shop for all the great deals they offer.

Nice store. Clean, well stocked deli wasnt a long wait. The Scan it Mobile on my phone actually worked. the only criticism would be that they dont have the dedicated scan it checkouts for people who use the scan it mobile. Another plus..theres the gas station as well. I will be going to this Stop & Shop instead of the one in West Haven.

Their product and refrigerated goods have been incredibly hit or miss - Ive purchased fruit several times which have gone bad almost immediately, or purchased yogurt with light mold on the top layer from lack of refrigeration. The most egregious example was a pack of Stop and Shop brand cheese which was new and sealed - after two days I opened it and every slice was moldy despite not having an expiration date any time soon. My fault for not inspecting the cheese before I bought it, I suppose - now if its dairy or fruit I look over everything with a keen eye.Also, the store automated robot is one of the creepiest ideas Ive encountered yet. Last night it was trapped in the lines for the check out registers. Most employees I see just scoff at it and ignore it until someone gets on them to reset it - I see at least one false positive of a cleanup every other visit.Stop and Shop is convenient, and the staff is friendly, but Im leaning more and more towards trying out Big Y or ShopRite for produce and doing cost comparison - I dont feel like Im saving any money at Stop and Shop.

I dont usually shop at Stop & Shop but was in the area and needed a few things. I found the groceries were more than I usually pay at Shoprite or Aldi, I hate when they have a sale and you have to buy two to get the sale price. I also hate when they have more self check outside than real people working.

When I went to the 3 judges to get away from family and at least had a bed to sleep in. I went to the 3 judges every month and went to stop and shop for food I was. Staying at my cousins house with my girlfriend and we slept on the floor etc couch like sardines in a can I was waiting 5 months for my section 8Papers to come to. Ct we went to the 3Judges to get away for a week then sorry we had to go back 3 judges was my safe haven my other cousin gave me the card key the room was still payed.for when him and his girl left he told me heres the key just walk in and thats how I know the3judges I was glad to have a bed to sleep in now years later I would still go there from New York to ct

Although this Stop & Shop is the one closest to me, I usually go to the Hamden or West Haven stores because of their salad bar. Otherwise, this store is adequate with one exception: the bottle redemption room. Its dingy and the equipment seems like the original machines. Today the glass and can machines all were out of order. Only one machine was working, and that was for plastic, and that machine was tied up by someone with a massive number of plastic bottles. Cant the manager do something about this bottle redemption space?

Cashier Steve and bagger Dave made the experience pleasant. Im 86 and they packed lightly so I could manage.

Stop & Shop at Amity and Hamden have been my two favorite grocery chain places to shop. I like the Natures promise brand and other Organics they have. Its important to me to shop organic as much as possible.

Great place to buy food from, but staff is ridiculously nasty. Dont ever buy food from prepared foods such as chicken wings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, wedges, and sandwiches they have a employee working there who isnt fit or havent been trained properly to work in that position the food is never fully cooked! Inspection recommended. As far as the front end all the managers are nasty and treat you accordingly to your race. Place of employment? Highly recommend you not.

Your ham your hamburger meat did not look good for 3.99 a pound you should look into that

I was disrespected by the pharmacist and my medication was taken from me. That was on November 6.The pharmacist, Daniel Rocki, PharmD, sold me my medication at full price, his mistake. When I asked for a price adjustment, they returned my medication, then refused to give it to me. I was yelled at, called a criminal, interrupted, and refused any helped. Daniel Rocki, PharmD, told me that purchasing the medication with my own money was illegal and that I’d committed a crime. When I asked Daniel Rocki, PharmD, to call a superior, he refused. When I asked his name, he covered up his name tag. When I asked him to not interrupt me when I spoke, he interrupted me to say he wasn’t interrupting me. When I asked for help, he refused.It was humiliating.Because my medication was taken from me, I had to cancel a family trip. I cannot be without it.I have spent at least 3 hours calling customer service to get this sorted out, calling no less then 6 times.What I’ve received is countless platitudes and promises that someone would call me back – to no avail.When I requested a copy of the notes on my complaint, I was told they were not public, and I would need to subpoena Stop and Shop to get any information.I was told the district pharmacy manager reported the issue was resolved, twice- not true.Instead, I have a voicemail of the district pharmacy manager angrily saying he “dealt with it.”On Monday December 30, a regional food manager said he would call me back by Thursday January 2.Is there anyone above these regional managers who will follow through?Anyone who hears my voice and is willing to take me seriously?Should I find another more formal avenue to file a complaint?Do I need to hire a lawyer and subpoena Stop and Shop as they suggested?How would these regional managers and pharmacists feel if this was them who was yelled at in their community grocery store? If it was them who had their medication taken away and then had to cancel a trip to see their grandmother? What would make them feel like a valued customer, a respected customer?

Store is clean and helpful

The selection of meat and veggies is ok. Nothing great but you can get the basics here. The prepared food by the deli is surprisingly pretty good, especially the spicy beef patties and wings.

The staff is very friendly & helpful, BUT have to check expiration dates on EVERYTHING! Fruits & veggies often aren’t fresh. Meats & poultry are on the shelf past the sell date. I even managed to get a couple of expired tuna packets. Every trip there is very disappointing.

Have a variety of different foods. Donuts are always fresh.

When I went to Stop & Shop we went to go fill up my water bottles it was two water bottles at the bathroom. This woman employee happens to be black and we are white who told the manager with that we were filling up our water bottles and she brings in a cop in there with him but the manager like we were going to do something. All we wanted was just to fill up our water this is two water bottles and they made us feel like we were criminals and made us feel real low a real uncomfortable if you want to go to a store that has no compassion for their customers then go to this Stop & Shop on Amity Road because they do have not compassion or care at all for their customers

My wallet was stolen from my grocery cart and the store was not equipped with the proper cameras to check and see who could have taken it. Yes, I shouldnt have left it there, but apparently this is a regular issue that they are aware of, as I walked to the service desk to see if someone turned in a wallet and they said Oh yea, we have wallet snatchers here. They know about the problem and have done nothing to improve things so that it doesnt happen again. Wont be shopping at any stop and shop from now on, no matter how convenient it is.

I purchased organic items for the first time. Excellent selections and affordable prices for organic, free-from, vegan, and vegetarian groceries and products.

Good selection, friendly & helpful staff, only 2 regular registers open at 5:15 pm leading to a very log wait to pay & leave.

All in all, pretty terrible. Organization is bad, there seems to be little rhyme or reason to store setup. They quickly run out of, or seem to not stock, many basic things. The deli moves at a snails pace and is unfriendly. Produce is not anywhere near fresh, ever. Dingy, dirty, and unfortunately the only grocery store close to Westville. Currently looking for an alternative place to shop where I know I can find what I need, and know that it will be fresh when I do find it. I god damn hate this place.

Much like the hair cutting salon Great Clips in the same plaza, I was in and out in no time. This entire plaza is awesome with Great Clips and S&S topping the list.

This is unfortunate. I went to gas up and redeem points at kiosk this morning. A male in the kiosk responded to my request to redeem points(website clearly instructs customer to see attendant)by stating well, go ahead and redeem your points! Icant help you, what do you want me to do?. I said to him, I always come to kiosk to show my card or phone, so, you dont need this? He was clearly annoyed that I was interrupting his game he was playing, while talking, or should I say, disregarding me, in the most rude manner I can describe. This worker was so rude and annoyed, that he actually got angry, while telling me to not bother him. I spoke to the store manager, who was absolutely professional and understanding about this experience. This guy was a lazy, uncaring, detached individual, and he knew he made a mistake, when I politely thanked him and walked back to my car. This person was so busy with his gaming, and was really just a warm body sitting in the kiosk with no intention on talking or interacting with customers. It is my hope that the manager transfers this person to maintenance or a position that does not involve communication with customers. After 40 years of shopping at Stop and Shop, I will shop elsewhere if he is still in that position when I get gas next time. Im not letting this go, its simply worth seeing through. I trust the store manager or regional manager sees this review, because about 10,000 customers will.

Has everything youd need

A good store with a large vegetables and fruits section as well as a solid selection of prepared foods. A few more self checkouts would be nice, or a few more cashiers in the limited purchases area would help checkout.

They have really good deals once in a while, also it is worth it to get the stop&shop card, you will save a lot of money. I just saved $59 and I didnt expect it so it was even better.

For one of the more affluent areas in New Haven county this place has seen better days. It’s actually gross. The outside of the store is dirty and the parking lot has garbage all over the place and then you get to the inside and you realize that its much of the same, dirty. To me it is very surprising that this #StopandShop hasn’t gotten its overdue over haul. It’s almost like corporate forgot that they had a store there. It’s gross and to be honest if they can’t keep the place clean I can only imagine what it looks like behind the scenes. It really needs to be fixed and updated.

Im very disappointed that Stop & Shop is charging 4 paper bags the $0.10 that is supposed to be charged for the plastic bags theyre misleading customers this way I understand that the $0.10 that theyre charging for the paper bags go for a donation to plant trees but when youre going through your line and youre paying for your groceries and youre not using any bags at all except for one paper bag and it asks you if you use any bags let people know they are expecting to only pay for plastic bags which I definitely agree with Im happy that Stop & Shop is not using plastic bags however to mislead customer this way sometimes ten cents makes us or breaks us

Awesome store. I would have to say this location for me is the best Stop and Shop. The bakery is always fresh and delicious. Store is always kept clean and looking good. The staff are the best. They are always so helpful and polite. The cashiers are very fast and funny. Management always has a solution to any problem. The deli department is very fast. They get thru the orders like nothing and veey low wait time. Restrooms are always clean. You can find a cart inside at any time dont have find one outside like many locations. The gas station attendant is so helpful with any car problems you might be experiencing. A plus is the gas points you can use saves you some money. Awesome deals with your card also. Definetly shop here. I am especially fond of the fact of no discrimination with employees. They have tons from Chapel Haven on whalley ave. They are so awesome and seeing the smile on their faces working is so charming. The one on whalley is nothing compared to Amity. They have a fresher and wider selection of foods. Their bakery is kosher which a hugeplus. You will always feel welcomed here. Bus stops right in front in case need of transportation. Also a variety of different stores in same plaza.
