After COVID first started I went in with a mask and myself and an elderly gentleman were chased around the store by an man in a very inappropriate very short dress. I went in again recently and was told to put a mask on by the same person. Sorry but masks are not laws. In fact they are unconstitutional and against the Nuremberg code. I regret I will no longer shop there and I’ve heard this from several others. This is a health food store. I would think you would believe in natural and healthy cures, not big pharma!
A little pricey but it is absolutely worth it. If you are vegan and/or trying to reduce your plastic usage, this is the place to go!! So many sustainable and locally sourced options, and the bulk section has a wide variety of items you can fill with paper bags or bring your own container. After getting frustrated with other stores because of ethical reasons, not having a large vegan selection, or not being able to find things I needed that were not wrapped in plastic, this store was a lifesaver. We were able to easily find everything we needed, and went home with absolutely no plastic, and felt great supporting a local co-op!
Unjustifiably expensive bring your own bag fake non-profit type facade nonsense. Supposedly all about efficient sustainability to offer high quality but ok to gouge people even more than high-end stores located in affluent areas that at least provide friendly service and bags? Epic fail.
Great selection of healthier food options and very nice staff.
Always a pleasure to shop here. Lots of great food and health and beauty aids
Hard to find items here. Very unique store definitely going back
Great curated selection, very clean and people who work here are joyful and kind :)
More than a store, everything You can get is amazing, veggies and bulk área My favorite. Thanks guys for your awesome service 🙏🙏🙏
I have been going here since it first opened up, and a proud member of the co-op. Not only am I proud of the way it has evolved, but the staff has always been friendly, and the products great. Used to really enjoy going in the café area for events, or just to have some coffee, but unfortunately due to the situation the last year that hasn’t been possible. I really recommend it, I know anyone who visits won’t be disappointed.
Even if your means allow for shopping here, your conscious should not. $9 for half gallon of national brand organic milk is beyond expensive.✌️
Great market! Quality, fresh and organic food selection, great selection of supplements and fantastic to go wraps. Super friendly staff as well!
When I hear the word co-op I think of WICdefiance freezer shares and monthly meetings. Not a co-op. Yet the yearlyFee helps me understand. TY 🥬🌶🍓
People are always nice and everything has its place, but the store has an aroma that is hard to get over.
Was refused service even with a face shield on, also I am vaccinated, woman was rude and had nothing to back her opinion. Will never shop there again and biether will my friends
Lots of organic, vegan, gluten free, fair trade and sustainable items. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Friendly and helpful. Fresh 👍 👍
Great selection of health foods... pretty expensive...more so than other markets... but great customer service! Ill definitely shop there again
Well organized, bought some quail eggs and duck eggs here.
Fiddleheads is an awesome co-op. It is conveniently located, they have a wonderful selection of produce, and the staff does customer service just right. I explore the store a few times a week. Two things I admire about the co-op is that 1) I can become a member at a fair price and 2) I can make my own skin and beauty products.Thank you Fiddleheads for being here!
My first visit there and everyone was so helpful. I was impressed by the selection and quality, as well. I definitely recommend them to anyone in search of good, organic groceries and want great service! Well done, Fiddleheads!! Nancy
The Best Organic,vegan,gluten-free variety ever store 💓🤜🏽🤛🏽
Delicious vegan premade lunches and baked goods. Absolutely wonderful staff. A great place to shop and get a meal. Love the local baked goods and smoothies.
Great store with the nicest staff, great selection and are willing to order items not carried
NLCs very own coop
Very good,l fine everythings that l want .
Love my sunflower sprouts and other funky vegan options. I prefer a plant-based diet and feel like I can really graze here
Didnt go in. Just met someone in the lot. My daughter though, raves about the place.
This place is a gem and we are lucky to have it in our area. So many things to discover. Their bulk section is now by order only because of the covid virus but still so many things are available here that you cant find anywhere else. Prices are decent considering most items are commodity.
A huge assortment of vegan and vegetarian products, with inventory carefully monitored, many products from local sources, lots of free parking, and the Staff is friendly and competent. A great shopping experience, with most products priced competitively. Well worth a visit.
Its good but its on the expensive side because its an all natural food co-op.
Not a fun environment to shop, hypocritical rules
Great selection of healthy choices.Love this place and they have good sales and staff!
Amazing store. New favorite.
Always a good trip for fresh organic products!!!
Great place, little pricey but worth it.
Will make you feel like you stepped off a street in “up and coming since 1730” New London, and into a storied vermont COOP. Really one of the best in Connecticut. Great local stuff, cool staff, and good prices.
I think it had a good selection, but a little to pricey.
Such a amazing place to shop for groceries
So lovely of flowers and art, teas, breads and bulk? Legit one of the best around 🙂
In my own experience when you buy something at the store or at least or you should check out the date because things are not well upgraded all the time and sometimes you can buy for example a protein which is actually a outdated so just be aware of the situation because personal thats what happened to me
Wonderful place, great staff
I have been trying to find true bulk foods, where you can get 1/10 ounce of a spice or bulk baking supplies such as chocolate, special flours, special sugars. So far this place is the closest I can get. Their selection of spices is pretty good but no whole grain flours or pastas. Some nuts but mostly already salted or candied. Baking supplies minimal. But I was able to get cocoa powder, 00 flour, candied ginger. However I am still in search of a store that has a true, huge bulk section. Prices were high at Fiddleheads compared to what I was paying in a small rural Oregon town. Fiddleheads is a co-OP and much of their inventory is organic. Other than the bulk area I checked produce which looked old for the most part. They had lots of juices, some frozen foods. Just not quite what I am looking for.
This place has everything you could want in a natural food and vitamin shop. They carry local fresh baked sourdough bread that is fantastic! Its also the best place to get a wide variety of loose teas and herbs. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great organic produce. Love this store!
Great natural foods co-op market place with lots of organic & fresh local products
All organic produce in one place! And very friendly personnel! And if you would like to have something new in the store and organic, the store will try to get it for you!
I love this store that has everything
Lots of organic foods and produce. Extensive selection of bulk foods. Friendly staff. Good parking. Recommended.
Always a wonderful time. Can be a bit more expensive but its such a treat to shop here. Lots of items I cant get anywhere else in the area. I go there for the local honey and bulk spices, also for the wonderful teas. Extensive selection of natural shampoos, lotions and soaps. Staff is delightful
Amazing selection of organic and local (New England) products, including farm-fresh produce, fresh local bakery items (many gluten-free), and grab-and-go for lunch
They have the best organic Milk, vegetable
Great products. Great service
This is a great local store with a lot of choices. They have some good sales and a nice area to get some bulk items. They have some nice items as a grab and go section too.
Fiddleheads is such a great place! They are always so well stocked. Basically anything you might be looking for can be found here. The staff are very knowledgeable & friendly. AND the prices are reasonable.. not as expensive as I would have thought.
Great atmosphere, friendly. You have to pick and choose if youre on a budget. The multitudes of greens are reasonably priced for organic and they are of superior quality, and most root vegetables are comparatively priced to regular market. There are sales every week, natural health and beauty items, locally made soaps and locally grown produce. You dont have to be a member. I think military gets a 10% discount.
Unfortunately, over time things have gotten worse. I was working with an assistant manager getting staples in for vegans, and I talked to him several times about how they seem to have less vegan products than more. And they dont keep anything if it doesnt sell right away. I understand supply and demand, but I know for instance follow your heart mozzarella is very popular among vegans, and the assistant manager would let us ornament getting a couple of time and pick me up but the man who spoke to today refused to do that unless we bought a case. So shes not working with us and were not going there anymore. Its too bad. Whole Foods and Amazon will be delivering to our area soon, and unfortunately stores like Fiddleheads wont be able to competeFiddleheads has improved its overall appearance and variety of products. I was almost able to get everything I needed without stopping at another store. I dont know how to work around that. They do carry the Certified Human Dairy products I use, and they have the largest variety. They also carry hard to find vegan cheese. When they have a sale on Gardenia plant based foods, I buy a ton. Keep up the good work.
Lots of local stuff here and healthy
Great little organic food co-op one block away from me in New London! I can get organic dark chocolate bars close by if I run out and more great food and items! You can also join as a partner if you wish to invest locally.
Fiddleheads is very nice well stocked all natural, all organic, health food market. Its located in a slightly older building. Yet it is very nice and very inviting. Its well lit, well stocked and clean as a Fiddle. The staff is above helpful and friendly. If you are a person whom lives by and enjoy this theme of food, then your sure to find happiness at Fiddleheads of New London!
Love this co-op! Fiddleheads got me through a Summer in the area of New London with their wide variety of gluten free snacks. They carry my favorite brand of GF bread Schär, which they started carrying after I left a note in their customer-request book asking about it. Lovely atmosphere too, and a place to eat in the front.
Lots of organic products.
Healthy food store. Lovely stuff. Loved it. Beside food there are other interesting items such as candles, aromatherapy oils, flowers . .....home goods etc. Different brands and packages than in Massachusetts. Recommended. New London in Connecticut, nice beach and pleasant surroundings. Restaurant, ice cream parlor, few clothing and accessories stores....outside restaurant seating with tables and benches .
I came for duck eggs and they did have. Expensive but most co-ops are. They did have a reduced section where i bought a delicious rice peanut butter bar. Also, lots of local product. I will be back soon. Really good co-op if you are in CT or southern Rhode Island.
Good selection of hard-to-find vegan foods, helpful staff, and correct covid precautions were present. Very very pricey though!
Cashier asked me if I was a member which I am not. Wish he on his own wouldve explained it to me how I would benefit from becoming a member. Variety of products offered was good.
Overpriced, especially since you can obtain most of these foods (both fresh and packaged) from other local stores. Even large chains such as stop and shop or big y stock most of these products. The biggest crime is that healthy food is depicted as being only for the rich, but all people, rich or poor, should be able to obtain affordable, whole foods. This establishment does NOT support that economic model, but appears to capitalize on the fad that healthy, whole foods should be the most expensive foods in the market. Worse, co ops are supposed to be groups of people who team together, pool resources, and obtain great value for high quality food. This is not that kind of co op.
I always love coming here with my boyfriend. We usually just get one or two small items because its fairly pricey, but overall the store is a cozy and pleasant experience and we like stopping in for a kombucha while we walk around and do other things
I just finished my take out meal from Fiddleheads. My mouth is still singing. I am staying in a hotel and found that Fiddleheads was close to the Historical Society where i wanted to do some research. Though they did not have meals to go, I managed to create one of my own - Asian Noodle Salad, Curry Chicken Salad and a pack of Tucson Tamales with green chilis and cheese. I could not be more pleased. And the store gave me some paper towels gratis to steam my tamales in. I appreciate that. And I still have a croissant to sample with some Minestrone Soup I bought at a larger market. Thank you Fiddleheads! Ill be back!
Well worth the drive!
Always a pleasure to shop here! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The produce is the best around and I love getting grains, flours, spices, etc., because I can get the perfect amount. The locally produced baked goods (including gf) are delicious. The cheeses, including vegan choices, are great, too. All around great place!
Fiddleheads is a pretty high quality co-op. A good variety of organic foods, fresh produce, and a solid bulk section. One thing I’ve really liked about Fiddleheads is the good number of deals they have even for non-coop members. It’s always a pretty nice surprise. Not too many quality supermarkets in New London, but Fidds is one the best and I will continue to be a frequent shopper!
Organic orgasm.
Great local co-op with a good local foods selection and a pretty extensive bulk selection.
Great organic produce, and the best place for spices. The price beats any grocery store, and you buy the amount you need not the already bottled spices at the grocery store. If they dont have what youre looking for, just ask they can probably get it for you.
I find the thing i cant fine in the regular store
Cute little grocery store. used to be a place called california fruit. now its a health food store. they have all organic produce from local farms. they have toiletries, and essential oils. they have lots of snacks, canned goods, a small dairy and meat section, a freezer section, a little bakery section. some candy options, legumes and stuff in dispensers, loose tea, drinks, beers, and lots of other stuff. i recommend bringing bags and containers. nice place good service too.
Amazing customer service and great selections! My 3 and 5 year old children were overly excited and touching everything, to my dismay, and an employee came over and started showing them things, let them sample appropriate items and gave them a temp tattoo for fun and even (with my permission) put it on each of them and when my 3yo didnt like it she disnt hesitate to get a wet cloth again and gently rub it off! Well definitely be back!
So many fresh fruits and veggies! Some quite unusual too! A lot of their goods are local and easy to find. The staff is friendly and helpful too.
Fiddleheads has an amazing selection of fresh and local produce. I once called to see if they had local apples and was able to put myself on a list for their next delivery. The staff are very helpful and kind and donate all the time to local charities and causes. Shop here instead of at a chain grocery store, you wont be disappointed.
Great selection of organic and difficult-to-find foods in what is otherwise a bit of a food desert between New Haven and Providence.
Great co-op! Good selection of local and organic produce and local foods. Good selection of bulk foods. Worth getting a membership if you plan to go here often as there are occasionally member deals that are really good.
We were at Kemp Hotdogs
So clean and organized. Love all great choices.
I really enjoy coming here because they have a great selection of healthy and local foods and I enjoy supporting small businesses but I keep running into the same problem with their milk. I always get sick whether it’s raw or pasteurized. I had to throw out 3 half gallons of pasteurized milk got on sale a few months ago because it tasted so gross. I have never tasted milk like that in my life and it was even pasteurized from a local farm. I really like the brush hill dairy raw milk and I would purchase it from the farm and be fine but when i purchase it here i seem to almost always get sick. I think they need to keep the fridge temp higher perhaps but for now I’ll get my milk elsewhere.
Amazing place to stop if you are traveling along route 95. They have it all! Lots of local treats too
Awesome whole and natural foods. Friendly staff. Local Co-op. Worth the trip if youre outside New London. They are always improving and adding products. HIGHLY recommend.
Fiddleheads is an excellent source of clean foods, organic, gluten free.. with an exceptional and friendly staff that is always willing to answer questions
Great grocery store. For all your local farm produce. I go to Fiddleheads!!!
Awesome local natural produces, foods and products at reasonable price. Kombucha on tap and bulk nuts, grains and spices. Staff are really friendly too. Open to everyone even youre not a co-op member.
I love how many items they have to offer. I usually go in to get a variety of organic snacks and I never get tired of going there. Its a welcoming atmosphere and after I finish shopping, I can sit down and relax at their café section with some tea and a book in hand. Buying organic is expensive but it makes me feel good to know Im helping Fiddleheads by going there and also sharing the things I buy there with people who have never heard of them. I consider this place home and its very dear to my heart.
Fiddleheads is a great Co-op whether youre a member or not with a wide selection of produce and everything else you can imagine with natural foods including too many things to even mention
This is my market...love it. I think co-operatives are the best way to enjoy local products year round, if you dont have access to farmers markets. Great selection.
Great selection of organic/natural products. Bulk spices and nuts and flours are also great, hard to find somewhere that carries those items.
Great place for all things organic. Nice selection of many different products from paper to pet treats.
Fiddleheads is a hidden gem. Fatastic!
Good variety of items that are unavailable elsewhere. Reasonable prices
A good place to go for great produce and organic/natural/gluten free items. Their bulk spices, tea and grains are to die for and they also stock ready-made food, which has saved my life before.
