New London Store is out for a nap evidentially. Thought I was in a dead zone. Going else where from now on.
Great place! I was making the mistake of going to best buy for audio equipment but this place is wall to wall industry standard equipment. I got a fantastic pair of studio headphones from them and had a great conversation with their friendly staff. 10/10 will be returning here.
Great vibe in the store.. just feel like making music every time Im in there
I played schism by tool on 3 of the 29 basses you had for a selection and tbh only one of them sounded good. I dont blame you boys, but still thats not very good odds. Goodnight, I think I still love you.
Very unprofessional customer service. Hostile, rude, angry and ignorant towards a long time GC customer who is actually a performing musician. When the frontline workers of any retail organization deliver poor customer service it usually comes from poor leadership and a poor corporate culture in this case.I will NEVER bring my business to this location again.
Small center with limited in stock but friendly staff that were willing to help with returns and look for other options. Thanks
I love this location. Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Fairly low stock lately due to covid, but thats to be expected. Normally they have a much larger selection than the Orange location
So this is a current review, about a month ago I went into the New London location and had a bad experience. I work in customer service and Im all about 2nd chances, I went in to buy a new acoustic guitar dealt with the same individual, Reed... And had a phenomenal experience this time, his customer service was awesome, he was very helpful and everything was just as I was expecting. Reed, definitely encouraged me to return to guitar center new london ct, for all my future purchases!!! Thanks again Reed!!!
Very professional..very knowledgeable. Eric overhauled both my acoustics.. very happy with the work he did.
Great experience! Had two guitars restrung. Eric laced these up like they were his own! They came back to me tuned to perfection and had a shine that I hadnt seen since they were new! No need to go anywhere else. Thanks again Eric! You Rock!
Lesson learned. Spend as much time as you can with the instrument pre-purchase, if theres a buzzing string or the action is too high or truss rod is off, they must charge for that adjustment. The instruments come in from the factory and then we sell them, no adjustments are done pre-purchase. Buyer beware.
Always helpful, friendly, and they encourage you to plug in the equipment and play.
You can fine people that understand music and they will help you to find what you are looking for.
TJ helped me get a new guitar and amp.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Although, I went on a Friday afternoon, around 4. There werent many people working. They didnt seem to have anyone specifically for the drum department, so its lucky that I know what I want and am knowledgeable about all of the products. Its a small shop in New London, so I know not to expect the same staffing as a platinum store in Dallas or NYC. Four stars only because I had to wait for someone to actually assign a sales rep to work with me. Once I got someone, he did everything he could to help me. I dont know if its just because they dont have enough people on the roster, or if they arent making enough money to hire more people, or if its just pandemic things.. but, it wasnt busy at all. I guess I just expected to be hounded by bored sales reps, looking for some commission on a slow day. Lol, I guess its good I wasnt, but I *almost* left without buying anything.
I had a damaged Chromatic Tuner that I came in to exchange. Was helped by a young lady with blue hair. Very friendly and accommodating. No questions asked. The exchange was made in a friendly, hassle-free manner. The store manager even came over to say hello. An overall pleasant experience. Also love browsing their used equipment.
This store is maintained well and is very prominent on enforcing new safety regulations regarding social distancing/keeping everything sanitized. Good work!
Friendly, very helpful & knowledgeable employees at Guitar Center in New London, CT. We keep going back for more!
Very impressed with the steps taken for Covid. They take everyones safety serious. Very satisfied with safety precautions. staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.... I ordered a used Amp from Reed. he was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful . If you need to order a item online do it through the store instead of the website. if you order it through the store these hardworking employees get commission for the item. its a great way to put money in local employees pockets and help your local economy.
I bought a used pedal from them from the GC website. There was a shipping issue and an employee contacted me, I live in Oklahoma, to make sure everything was correct. I also had to contact them because I had received part of my order, this particular pedal was missing. The employee I talked to then was also helpful. I received the pedal and it works great! Thanks New London CT Guitar Center!
Im sorry but this place has terrible management and if you are a person of colour you definitely get no respect here.
Ordered my unusual instrument. Much appreciated
They are always very helpful and professional and will make you feel comfortable about what ever you buy
The guys here are awesome, knowledgeable and eager to help!
This store is AMAZING. All the staff were helpful and kind. I am interested in getting my kids lessons here and they reassured me that they have an excellent selection of classes including a free 15 minute session you can even walk into and learn somrthing new! Highly recommend this staff. Thank you Jen and Zach! Check it out!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Super helpful, knowledgeable staff. Great selection. Only problem is I have to stay away otherwise I will spend all my $$$$.
Jordan helped me out tremendously and taught me a few guitar maintenance items for the future.
Knowledgeable staff here. I had a problem with an online order and they did everything they could to set it right. Great place!
Nice to see gear in person and play some instruments (under supervision due to Covid-19). Limited live lessons could resume in late August
Good selection of products, from beginners to pros. Pros need to be sure that they are talking to the people who are knowledgeable! If there are no people staffing the professional area who have experience, then ask when there will be an experienced person there!
Awesome store. If you are a musician, this place is nirvana! A major kudos to drum specialist Charlie. To the drummers out there: Seek out this guy; he knows his stuff.
NEVER OPEN WHEN YOU NEED THEM. Go to Amazon for better prices and service.
Its a great store. Staff are helpful. They could use a bit more technical experience since they only have one technician working there
The staff has always been helpful and courteous. Some staff members are more knowledgeable than others in certain departments but thats to be expected. I usually ask for the person most competent in a certain area. No complaints here from me.
I was surprised to find how reasonably their guitars were priced. Friendly helpful service too. Im considering taking lessons from them
Getting back in the game after like 15-20 years and looking for a used guitar. Manager Phoebe was amazing! Let me try it with no judgment on my lack of playing skills, answered all my questions, made some great suggestions, and did what she could to get me the best deal/coverage possible. Very clean, organized store, easy to find what I was looking for, much better than past experiences with judgy gear heads at other gear shops in the past. Got a Schecter C-1 Platinum, orange combo amp, and all the needed start-up gear for under $600.
Was looking to buy a tin whistle and they happily ordered my one. Great store!
Good place to buy some low to high end stuff. They let you try everything and are always willing to help with any questions.
Ok selection, little for left hand guitar players.
I was the only customer at 8 pm. Three employees - two were chatting to each other. The manager pointed me toward the drum room and went back to practicing his ukulele. Many items had no price label; the one I wanted turned out to be mislabeled. I couldnt reach items because there were stacks of boxes in front of the display. When I asked for help, the manager was impatient to get away. I left and went to Music & Arts, where I found a better tambourine for more than $10 less.
Nice Job
Nice place to SHOP for a guitar if you just want to look around. But when asking specific questions about guitars, first youre lucky if anyone will help you, second dont expect too much knowledge of the equipment or parts of the guitar. Their staff was quite lazy, uninterested in assisting, and in the long run made me decide to not buy, but keep looking. -I was shopping for 2 acoustic guitars and a complete pro audio system. I found what I liked, but didnt buy it there because I didnt care for their service. On a good note though, their guitar repairman was kind and squeezed in a re-string while I was there. Im going to try the other store in West Haven this month to see if they have better service.
Knowledgeable sax guy who pointed me in the right direction for some tenor sax reeds. Who wouldve thought? Lol
Extremely helpful.
Huge selection helpful staff and overall great experience.
Great selection, great service and knowledgeable staff. Whats not to like?
Good sale. Good customer service. Nice store .
Dont go there if you are a female musician. The employees are rude to women and a simple do you have this item question seemed super inconvenient (15 foot walk) to the employee doing basically nothing in a store with only 2 customers at the time.
Good place, everything for churches, musicals instruments, speakers, mixers, microphones, cables etc....
Took a vintage Roland Re-101 for trade, expected a low ball offer but they were more than fair. Nice pleasant staff and very helpful.
Every staff member Ive had interactions with has been helpful and friendly.
Great staff. Very helpful. Selection great as always.
In my experience the costumer service has been second to none every time Ive visited. And when they tell you to “take something home and try it, if you don’t like it we have a 45 day return policy.” I’d never trust a salesman who told me that!! These guys stand by their word, no questions asked. Sense it’s a big store and has quite a few employees it’s normal to have to deal with members of the staff you may not have met, and there’s never a communication breakdown between them. If that’s what was said. That’s what they do. I respect people and company’s that stand behind there word. It seems to be becoming more and more of a rarity.
Good service. Helpful, friendly.Good stock.
Like pulling teeth to get someone to help you try something out. Then... Guitar cables are complete garbage so loud pops and hissing when you do finally get to. Rude/disinterested attitude made for a bad experience. Gave them the second star only because the prices are good. Awful place to shop. Avoid it and go to Groton guitars instead or buy from Amazon.
Very friendly staff. Prices on the affordable end of the scale.
Helpful staff, good selection of gear on hand and the ability to order nearly anything the beginner/mid tier player might need.
While I understand selling items back you get a fraction of the original price, gc really get you being the only game in town. The customer service has been good for years but recently I went there and there was an older guy at the register who clearly doesnt own a computer or type, so he was pecking at the keyboard with one finger at a time, as if he typed more than a letter ever 10 seconds the store would explode, lol. Then, they had an item on the shelf with the wrong item, less than the item on the wall, I made a poi t to call it out and they didnt ring it up at the lower price, another employee came and saw it and just said it was wring, no apology, nothing, probably still with wring price on it. I do my shopping through american musical supply and amazon, rarely going to gc, this time I needed 1 guitar cord and didnt want to order and wait 2 weeks for it. This experience was a real why going online is better moment. This guy seemed like he was going slow in purpose, other people in line were sighing and getting impatient. If he was in some mom and pop store in the middle if nowhere it would be one thing, not gc. Then there were 2 guys in the guitar section working, just talking, one of them should of gone to an open register, nope, and one guy sitting at the music lesson section, no one around, just sitting there, lol, why wouldnt he go to a register and, um, work? Their system is messed up and they cant have people leaving there happy often and they cant be making enough big sales, they suck now, were better a few years back
Been here a few times and theyre always very knowledgable and helpful, great products/prices and service
Every employee Ive come across in the past ten years here has been professional and engaged in helping me find what I need to find.
Great place, people and prices! Wish I worked there!
Awesome store. Good selection. Looking forward to my next visit.
Charlie was a great help. Thanks!
Great place. My grandson needed strings for guitar
Excellent knowledge, the advice given to me is very important and appreciated.
They let you play the guitars and amps
We brought our kids in to check out the drums. Although we ended up not getting a set, the staff were helpful and didnt mind the kids playing the instruments.
Lame selection of gear and employees that arent musicians
Must be corporate thinking but if you go back a few years ago the had a good selection and quite a bit of used equipment. What happened.
Great updates to the store. More merchandise and equipment.
Not much Starr on hand. Guy who was workin ( he has been a huge help in the past) was working on a sale and I didnt want to bug him with my small purchase.
This place sucks
Smaller than most guitar center stores. Nice staff but a scant acoustic instrument assortment.
Very nice people very knowledgeable of their equipment
I love the bathrooms
I dont hate it I dont know it
No one here tries to help. Lots of cheaply made guitars and prices that would make you think they were nice and sales staff that doesnt seem to care the customer.
Nice store very good staff.
Good staff knowledgeable and good selection of products
Decent prices and good selection of in store equipment
Great staff, enjoyable experience testing out equipment.
These people dont have knowledge of any of their equipment in the store...... very bad service here at this spot..... RUFFBEATZ....
Go there for all my sound equipment. Great selection and awesome staff.
Good place for hands on experience, great staff
Very helpful sales crew.
Well I went in there today to pick up a drum set and when I walked in there was a guy there with long hair he was pretty cool but then we went into the drum section and this other guy came in short hair sports jacket looks like a manager or something now I guess its all about business but be on your guard when you see this guy just seems like he was trying to up-sell the dude with long hair was like Hey you know we got like these cheaper stands over here you know and the other guy was like nah you need these ones you know you need these symbols to like and I dont think he knew anything about drums so he had to go get the drum guy and he just came in and like picked out some pieces and walked away Im thinking to myself why am I talking to this manager guy when I should be talking to the guy who knows about drums it just seems weird like this guy was trying to take as much money from me as he could really left a bad taste in my mouth 2 Stars and like I said if you do go there be on your guard for that guy he seems a little slimy
Great place a lot of instruments and supplies
The staff has no clue what theyre selling and wouldnt recommend buying anything here
Amazing instruments, amazing staff
Very friend no pushy sales
My friend works here hit him up lol
My friend works here lol
Lousy selection of cheap ukuleles,And when asking the staff they want nothing to do with the customer when talking about ukuleles.
Staff knowledgeable, helpful & friendly.
Good place,good service
Helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff.
