Stopped in for breakfast, place was busy but they serve everyone fast. The breakfast was good and loved the donuts 🍩 will be coming back here for sure.

My go to whenever I visit home! I gotta get my dozen half regular glazed and chocolate glazed donuts! The apple fritters are good too. A lot of locals are regulars there for hot breakfast as well. If your in east New Orleans stop in!

I have been all over the US and I have had some good cinnamon rolls in a lot of those places, but this place has the biggest, fluffiest cinnamon rolls I have ever had.They also have HUGE breakfast biscuit sandwiches that are amazing

A shop with a diner feel to it. It has counter seating and 2-3 table seating. It also has 1-3 gambling machines off to one side behind a curtain. Usually has a few bags of day old donuts available in the early AM. Fancy donuts are quite large compared to other places I buy donuts. This place has a nice variety of donuts to buy. My favorite donut shop!

I called and said I was trying to place an order & the girl hung up on me. I called right back & she picked up the phone and hung up right away 2 more times!

My mother an I went through the drive thru and the nicest lady Ive ever met, Tara was awesome! She was super nice and got our orders correct and didnt hesitate to give us the best service! Southshore Donuts has a wide variety of confections that should satisfy any sweet tooth. The cake donuts are top shelf! The blueberry cake donut is wonderful! The apple fritters are deep fried to perfection! Then theres food like fish plates to satisfy a real hunger. The staff is cordial and accommodating. Well worth the trip!

I hate this place with a passion. I can call multiple different mornings to place an order, get there and the cook never received the order, now I have to either go to work hungry or risk being late and wait. OR, Im placed on hold and forgotten about. I only go there because its close by and easily accessible on my commute to work. But if there was someplace else open or better, Ill definitely NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

This classic New Orleans East diner provides some of the best donuts in the city, which are always served warm every morning. Ive usually ordered the glazed donuts, which taste like they have a touch of vanilla in them - a personal favorite. They also have cheap breakfast and lunch options, plus they are usually 24/7 so its the only other overnight breakfast option in the east other than the chains.

Service is always friendly and courteous! And they make the biggest and best apple fridders!

South shore Donuts takes me back to every true neighborhood coffee shop in every city I ever been in. Thats a very good thing. As soon as the aroma of coffee infused with frying bacon, eggs, and donuts fills my senses I become nostalgic and hungry. It has counter service and the comforting chatter of regulars and staff. You can get food to eat in or to go. Of course the coffee and donuts are wonderful, but for some reason I always get a Hamburger and fries combo to go. It is open 24 hours and a popular spot. I find it a refreshing alternative to Starbucks.

This is my favorite donut shop in NOLA. Its in the East so people can feel uneasy going at night, but Im a white guy and Ive never felt uneasy. Its 24/7, great donuts, and a great price. Unbeatable in my opinion.

This is my familys favorite 🍩 shop!!! Whenever the kids want 🍩s this is the place!! Even before we hit the highway to leave town, we stop by for 2 dozens!!One dozen of 🔥 Glaze & the other dozen is mixed at least 6 Blueberry Cake 🍩!! When I called to place an order the woman that answered had a very nasty attitude. Nasty enough for me not to place my order for fear she would do something to it. Now I admit it was late..about 1:30 in the morning,but from my understanding the place AND grill was open 24hrs. I was a new customer and I was referred by another customer who said that the food there was good,and with this being my first encounter I would not eat there.

I just came to get a few donuts. Brought 4 for 353 to findout the half dozen is 388. Tried to pay the difference and was told no she can’t help because she’s not the manager. suggestive selling would have help! Won’t be coming here anymore!

We stopped by while we were on a cross country road trip in December, and this place had the best donuts we have ever tasted! So many different flavors that we have never experienced before. We cannot wait to come back!

Its definitely been close to 20 years since Ive been here. I think it was still called Tastees. The food take a while to make. My brother called the order in when we were passing St. Bernard and we still had to wait about 15 min once we got here. The hot sausage was really good though. Not many 24hr joints in the east. I forgot about this one.

Donuts are very delicious, my favorite is the buttermilk donut. My kids love the glaze donuts and the donut holes.I have not tried there food yet but from those delicious donuts Im pretty sure the food is the same. We had our share of the different varieties also.

Poor customer service. Apparently so bad that my postmates delivery driver left and cancelled the order because he was being ignored. They didnt have any of the items listed on their menu available at 7am during peak breakfast time. They were unwilling to substitute the items they didnt have with items of equal value. VERY POOR SERVICE!

They never answer for to go orders and have some of the rudest women in the world working there. I used to spend real money over here being that it’s the only bakery in New Orleans East but I rather spend the gas to not deal with the extra nonsense.

If you like hot and fresh donuts, then this is the place for you! The parking leaves a little to be desired, but if it wasnt crowded then how else could you measure that it is good! The staff is always rocking n rollin with a smile, which I can appreciate when I am in a hurry. But overall, the donuts are the best!

Very bad experience ordering food over the phone. Place me on hold for over 20 mins. So live around the corner from the shop. And I was still on hold when I arrived to the shop. When I walked in the shop it was very slow only had two people seating and eating and they was almost done eating their meal. So I didnt understand why I was place on hold for 20 mins when they were very slow. The lady with the one eye was very rude to me and I been coming to this place for over 10 years now. And I never had problems until today. This lady should be fire for her action. Wont eat there ever again in life. And I will tell everyone I know about this so they wont eat there either.

The MORNING SHIFT is amazing!! Donuts are extremely fresh so fresh they melt in your hands as you break them apart 😋. The price is always right at this establishment!! Im not gonna recommend the evening shift.

I have to start by saying we not only order from Southshore regularly but we also send loads of customers there, and until today we had never had an issue.Today was literally the worst experience I have ever encountered in regards to customer service. First we called to place the order as we always do, and upon calling was put on hold for 20 minutes, which I understood as they may have been busy. After a lady returned to take our order she decided after I placed the first meal in our order of five that she was not interested. Not only did she inform me that they dont take orders of more then 1 meal over the phone (which I have never heard of in my life, nor has it ever been an issue previously) she then told me we had to come in and place the order and they would make it while we waited. I explained the entire reason we were calling ahead is because we were at work and needed to have it ready to be picked up so that the person could come back asap. She informed me once again that this wasnt her problem and we had to come in, but that she would be ever so kind to take the rest of the order over the phone this one last time. As I went to finish the order she not only interrupted me, telling me she knew what was in the platter and I didnt need to tell her what I wanted in the platter, but when I went to place the last meal order she said seriously! Another one! now keep in mind she knew I needed to order 5 breakfast meals. FYI 3 of those were breakfast biscuits and would take all of a minute to make.The horror doesnt stop there sadly. An employee went to pick up the order and not only had they waited until he got there to start the order but when the order was done it was completely wrong! My platter was missing toast and eggs and bacon, so I only had hashbrowns. My coworker was missing an egg, another coworker has no toast. The bacon we did get was not done and the bread used for two of the breakfast sandwiches was old.This is totally unacceptable! We will NEVER be ordering, going to, or sending anyone here again!!
