Bought my first fountain pen here and look forward to buying many more. The guy behind the counter was amazing and extremely helpful. He made the experience wonderful and answered all my questions and never rushed me at all.. It took like 30 minutes.. I wish I had more people in my life to write to because everything in this store will make you wish email was never invented. Beautiful place, beautiful things and beautiful people. A dream of a shop for a writer or calligrapher. Wax seals, nibs, inks, and journals. We did wish for loose paper - that would have been wonderful to find. Prices are excellent for such high quality!

This place is a one of a kind jewel. We went twice in the three days we were in town :). It’s got imported paper and stationery, an amazing selection of pens including fountain pens, house made inks, beautiful little pewter books marks and all sorts of other things. If you’re into pens and paper, you can’t miss this place.

I was in this store a few weeks ago. A young man with curly hair and a wealth of information helped me replace cartridges for two pens I have: a Le Pen from 1990 and a hand-carved wooden pen that needed a new insert. After I got home and replaced them, they fit perfectly. This is not only a very niche store, but both times Ive been here I have learned so much. When I buy a fountain pen itll be from this shop.

I was glad to pickup some unique ink and my first Pilot Vanishing Point while visiting Papier & Plume during my first trip to New Orleans--my favorite keepsake souvenirs.

Their house-made inks come in a beautiful color range and are good quality. I bought a fountain pen and their custom Peacock blue ink and both are absolutely amazing. Their ink doesnt smear when highlighted (after about 10 seconds) either! Highly recommend their custom inks.

I had an enjoyable first visit to Papier Plume today. Owner Patrick and his woman associate were extremely helpful and hospitable and encouraged me to test-write the Cleo brand I was eyeing. Their own line of ink was attractively priced and had clever New Orleans names. I also picked up some locally made stationery. This store was one of the highlights of my trip!

What a lovely, whimsical pen and stationery shop in the 💜 of the French Quarter! Amazing cases full of fountain pens, rollerballs & ballpoints. Old World feel with many leather journals, dipping pens, wax seals and bottles of ink. You could easily get lost in here for hours!

What a great place of you like quality writers articles. Its a fun place to browse too. The service was excellent. I ended up buying a wax stamp with the name of my son in it (his name only has 2 letters). This wasnt a standard product, so the owner sent out to fetch is one (as we are leaving tomorrow). In the meantime we had dinner and we returned to get it.This shop has neat little things and beautiful stuff to add to your writers desk!

Amazing selection of high-quality stationary, though the staff leaves much to be desired. My wife especially loved the wax seals and applicable accessories. I, however, felt rather uncomfortable as one employee honestly treated me like a potential thief. I get the necessity of watching in retail for loss prevention, but this lady took it to an inappropriate level. She honestly stared at me, almost glaring, the entire time I was in the store. My wife was getting a tutorial on the sealing wax, so I wandered elsewhere to look at the paper and journals. Everywhere I went, she was no more than ten feet from me, as if ready to pounce the second I picked something up. Because of that, I did not touch anything after witnessing her reactions a few times. To mess with her, I started to walk around at a quicker pace, though still casual, constantly changing location in comparison to her; and she always followed. I actually left the store and waited for my wife to leave. I will never set foot in that store again, and I am in this city frequently.

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and spent a good amount of time letting me try different pens. I was ultimately able to pick the perfect glass dipping pen, journal, and ink for my writing project. I highly recommend stopping by this store when visiting New Orleans. I will be ordering more of their handmade ink in the future.

Ive visited Papier Plume three times in the past few years. Each time my family and I were met with such an air of condescension that Im finally turned off to the place (despite their wonderful products). I really wanted to love this place, too. Its a shame.

These guys are amazing. They talked me all the way through my decision making process and showed me one pen after the other without hesitation, even though they knew I wouldnt be spending much money there. Go pay them a visit, you wont regret it. They also have a lot of stuff for small budgets!

My friend was trying to find an antique fountain pen to buy. She had to go finding something antique, but every antique store told us to go to Papier Plume instead. They had pens made from the record of the Titanic. Very expensive, but cool to know!

While visiting NOLA last weekend, my girlfriend bought me a really cool pen by Jac Zagoory. She also bought a couple of Leather bound journals to record our trips in. The owners were beyond nice and service was excellent. Heres the amazing part. Not paying attention to the receipt...There was an error made on the final sale which made the transaction several hundred dollars more than the actual sale. Upon our return home (3 days later) she was checking our trip expenses and discovered the error. She contacted the store and the really impressive part was the owner already know of the mistake and had contacted her CC company and issued a refund for the almost $500 error. Not only does this shop carry incredible writing instruments and other assorted writing supplies. But the owner is of the highest caliber of upstanding integrity and honesty. He is a really nice man! Without failure I/we WILL do business with them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for products of this sort. It is rare and refreshing to see this level of customer service ANYWHERE in this day and age. the next time we are in NOLA?? I am going back into the store and request the owner and his wife join us for a dinner on us!

Love this place. Had a lovely conversation with Elise who told me about some great places in New Orleans. Their stuff is legit (no hoaky tourist stuff) and good quality. I found stuff here I havent found anywhere other than where theyre created (Murano glass pens, Italian marbled paper).

I was amazed by this store. It was playing French music on the radio, which makes it extra charming. Staff was friendly! One of them kindly gave me an wet tissue to clean my hand after I tried to use a feather pen without knowing how to do it, so I got three blue fingers. :)

I stumbled upon this store while walking around on Royal St. during my recent visit to NOLA. They have an eclectic and unique selection of writing instruments, stationery, desktop products and old school melted wax seal kits. While there, I ended up buying a leather covered daily planner as a gift for my wife and a Karas Kustom pen for myself as an impulse purchase. I only got the chance to inspect my items after returning home to NJ and unfortunately found quality issues with the daily planner. So I emailed the shop asking for a return. Being 1000+ miles away, I was admittedly nervous that the store may hesitate to take the planner back. Happy to say that not only did they accept the return but also refunded shipping fees, making it one of the easiest and most friendly customer service experiences for me. Thanks Papier Plume! Needless to say, here I am writing a well-deserved positive review for them and will be sure to visit again the next time I am in NOLA.

Great little stationary shop with some beautiful products

I really love this place. I first saw it on the vampire and ghost tour in which we passed b it at night and it looked so charming that I had to return the next day. The owner is very pleasent and helpful. The selection is wonderful and it may be pricy but the merchandise is extraordinary! I will definity do business with them whether online or at the store!
