I usually close my restaurant patio seating in the winter due to the weather. Not this year. I got a winter sidewalk cafe enclosure installed from New York City Signs and Awnings and then put portable space heaters inside. My guests love sitting in the new garden room and are toasty and warm. Im going to have this set up every year. The even take it down and store it for you in the spring.

I dont usually take the time to review stuff online but this time I wanted to thank New York City Signs for getting me exactly what I needed. I wanted a vestibule doorway enclosure to block the cold air from coming in when people open the door and they came out and installed it for me right away. i was losing business before and now its perfectly warm inside.

I never write online reviews, but I want to make sure that no one else deals with this. Notably, all the reviews below are the same week- reviewing this company it seems to change names and I suspect this is a new listing as they are trying to freshen up their image. Given my experience, Im not surprised. My restaurant has been opened a short while- since mid-November. We purchased outdoor signage through Rex for about 3k.Signage for the restaurant and other brick and mortar businesses is incredibly important -- we anticipated (correctly) that a lot of our business would be walk-ins. After vague communications with Rex which left me and my team concerned we wouldnt have signage for our opening, we in fact did receive it in late August just in time for a pre-opening photo shoot. The sign seemed fine. However, after 12-13 weeks, the sign fell down on a very windy Monday morning. Its frame was damaged from the fall, but the actual sign seemed fine. Although Rex tried to claim it was vandalized, it was not. However, the day it fell he ultimately agreed to replace the sign, and assured us that it would be completed that same week. Especially as a new business, and one which relies on people walking in without reservations, signage is critical. Fast forward almost four weeks later and after a ton of lost business, Rex would either not return our inquiries or lie saying that the sign would be reinstalled by x date. Finally yesterday after yet another follow up, we managed to get him on the telephone. He suddenly insisted that we pay for the reinstallation and reproduction, and claim vandalism on our insurance- which would have been fraudulent. Today he finally told me via my lawyer (who I had contact him because he was being so evasive) where the fallen sign was located because I insisted on its return to see if I could salvage it. When he ceded the location, I called. It turns out he never gave the sign to the manufacturing company to repair or re-do until two days ago. The manufacturer is local, and there was no reason to sit on the project. Rex showed zero concern throughout for the impact the delay has had on business. Please also note: he claims to do things in-house- in fact his office is a shared workspace at a Yard location in Manhattan. He and his wife outsource ALL the fabrication work despite any claims to the contrary. This is important because he makes representations that he will do things and have them done by certain days, when in fact as someone who outsources, he cannot do this without communicating with the fabricators. Notably, now that I found out who in fact made the sign and has it, the fabricator has managed to communicate with me better in one day than Rex did over the last few months-- the delay was obviously not at their end.
