Just what I needed when I needed it. Espresso first thing every morning while I stayed at The Evelyn and lovely Italian pastries as well. Cool space upstairs to sip your brew and read a book. The outdoor street seating, covered with walls on 3 sides, was a strangely peaceful place to eat, even when it rained.

After lunch, I often like to have a coffee or espresso. Instead of getting an espresso at the restaurant we were at, I asked my fiancé if we could go to an Italian bakery. I know that Italian bakeries tend to have good coffee.We went down a few blocks and ended up at Leonelli. I had no idea it was ran by Michelin star Chef Jonathan Benno. We got several pastries and each got the oat latte on draft.The pastries were superb. Very authentic. They were out of cannoli in the display and the pastry chef filled a cannolo just for me. She was so super sweet and was pretty convinced she had baked a bunch already so she searched for them.I cannot describe how much I loved the oat latte on draft. I asked for it slightly sweet and with light ice. The barista who recommended said it already came with light ice. He was so sweet, patient, and helpful. I love oat milk in my coffee as is, but this oat latte on draft was light, creamy, and silky smooth. It was out of this world just like everything else.Had we not been on our way to airport, I would have eaten at Jonathan Benno’s restaurant too.

I made a Restaurant Week order from them. The plastic container in which the food came had a burned hole. Not only that meant food leaked out, but also means a lot of plastic was burning while in contact with the food.I really want to support businesses in these hard times, but this was quite worrisome. I hope they are able to address this. The food itself was actually very good.I emailed them about this and they said their container was secure and the container was not in contact with the food. When I replied attaching photos showing how the hole went all the way through the plastic I didnt get a response back.

Coffee is good but it would be nicer in a coffee mug rather than paper cups. The decoration is pretty.

Stop but for a mocha and a well made pastry which reminds you of an authentic Italian caffettiera! The library upstairs is cute and cozy.

Loved it! I got the Sicilian focaccia which was very flavorful and reasonably priced. Also got some cookies which were all very classic. They also have made to order canoli, which I didnt order this go around but will come back for. Additionally, even though they have display sandwiches, I think they put those together to order as well. There is seating upstairs which when I went was surprisingly empty. The staff is also super nice.

I ordered catering from Leonelli Focacceria e Pasticceria for the first time and it was AMAZING, far exceeded expectations based on other caterers in the area. They have the best pizza in Murray Hill, delicious sandwiches, and amazing Italian pastries, everybody in the office was impressed. Will definitely be ordering from them again. Thank you Leonelli!

An elegant, classic space with delicious pastries, friendly service, a secret library, cannoli filled to order, and great coffee? Sounds impossibly impossible. My only complaint: I wish it was open later. Best rainbow “cookies” in NYC.

An eloquent, small place, which has a wonderful selection of pastries and sandwiches to choose from. Theres also coffee and beverages to enjoy with the food.

Met my friend there today. The gentleman who took our orders was kind and helpful, and the sandwich was delicious.

I LOVE this place and I rave about it to anyone that will listen. The focaccia is fantastic! The desserts are incredible. If you ever see their chocolate bombolinis or eclairs, grab one! 10 out of 10. Their entrees are amazing too. I had the eggplant parm and it was so good.

Leonelli Focacceria e Pasticceria is the best coffee shop in the city. It has something for everyone, from kids to grown-ups. It is one of the popular coffee shops in NoMad. If you go in for breakfast, get the egg sandwich, the egg is over easy on a house-made semolina bun. I will be back!!!

I tried their pepperoni pizza upon the salespersons recommendation -- really generous on the toppings, and the dough was nice and fluffy. Had the bomboloni during my previous visit, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick, filling snack.

Great place to visit. They have a very good collection of coffee and food. Should definitely try their Tiramasu.. Be mindful of the timings as they close early in the evenings.

Leonelli Focacceria e Pasticceria is the best bakery near me! They have the best Italian Cookies and La Colombe coffee. The pizza or focaccia is definitely crave worthy! Leonelli also has the best sfogliatelle in NYC and all house-made. I would consider this one the popular coffee shops in NoMad. I will be back!

The pizza and flatbread was the best thing ever! The staff was very nice and it was very quiet. Keep up the good work, Leonelli!

The bake I got from there was decent but I couldnt enjoy it because of the terrible service I received. Employees looked openly unpleased with out another so the person who poured me the coffee did it with clear attitude. Had one sip and had to throw out the coffee.

Besides the food being fresh and delicious, the physical space is amazing!! And they have la Colombe on draft, their blended take on it is 10/10.

I would have given it 5 stars because their pistachio chocolate crossiant is the best ever. Better then Maison Kaysers almond chocolate crossiant. But when the Chef starts messing with perfection by trying with strawberries jam or any jam, she / he seriously ruined it. I was so disappointed when I had the one with strawberries jam. Please bring back the chocolate.
