Amazing is not even the word for my experience! I just recently took my boat to Muddy Bay Marine to have some warranty welding done. It is the middle of tournament fishing season and the window for down time is extremely thin. I called and spoke with Amanda in the service department. After explaining my situation and that I really only had 7 business days I could be without it, she was up for the challenge. I live an hour and forty five minutes away and I will continue to make that drive after the experience I had. It was well worth it and I highly recommend Muddy Bay Marine for all of your marine needs! Thanks again Amanda for the amazing communication, and for getting my boat back in record time.

Brought my new boat in for my initial 100 hour service on my Mercury 175 4 stroke. They completed the service in two days for a reasonable price. I previously brought in my Key West with a Yamaha 4 stroke and was happy with their service.

I had an excellent experience at Muddy Bay Marine when I recently got my tritoon serviced. They went out of there way for me and I will be a returning customer for here on out. I highly recommend Muddy Bay and it’s worth the drive if in the Irmo/Chapin area.

I wouldn’t recommend using this marine for any services you may need, the owner is someone who has no common curtesy for customers and for employees. i was in one day and over heard how rudely him and another female worker were speaking to other employees. they don’t take their employees seriously by the looks of it and just use them until they’re no longer a benefit to the business. i would like to see more appreciation come from A BUSINESS OWNER to their employees, everyone is equal and make it known. therefore my service experience was absolutely horrible!! the woman that works in the service department was rude and wanted nothing to do with my questions over the phone, she seemed quick to want to end a conversation and not want to proceed further assisting me. i will NOT go here again and i WILL not tolerate disrespect.. you need customers to keep your business going and without your employees who are doing the right thing. bless you all

I never buy anything, whether it’s a mower, car, truck, etc.( in this case it was a boat ) from the 1st dealer I stop to look. Muddy Bay Marine had what I was Interesting in & just stop to look. They were not open yet, But Kyle asked if I wanted to come on in a take a look around. He was very informative and friendly . He never met me, never heard of me, didn’t know if I was just jerking him around or really interested. He as well as the whole staff treated me like I was an old ( not age ) customer. Couldn’t be more satisfied and pleased with the attitude and service . Now to end this book, I bought the boat, got everything I added to it, & couldn’t beat the price also. Very Very Pleased 👍

After looking at the large selection of boats on Muddy Bays website, I decided to drive two hours to visit the store. I arrived to find the main entrance under construction, so I had to use the side entrance. As I pulled in, the road was blocked, so I parked along the side of the road like other vehicles were. I casually walked over to look at the boats. As I was looking around, a sales person came out and started to approach me. As he did, he yelled across the lot can I help you? At first I thought he was just asking if I needed help in regards to questions about boats. But later found out he wasnt. As we talked he was extremely rude and basically disregarded any of my comments. He was more concerned with who I was, where I was from and what I was driving. I told him how much I wanted to spend and he then laughed about it. At that point I thanked him for his time and said that was just going to just walk around and look. He said he couldnt allow me to do that for insurance purposes. I then turned around and saw a couple looking at boats with two children running around climbing on the boats, no sales person with them. I again thanked him for his time and told him I would just look online. He said thanks for stopping by and then asked where did you park, I said over on the side with everyone else. He then said oh, thats why no one saw you come in, so I replied oh so I guess you thought I just walked in to steal something. He chuckled and said yea kinda. Muddy Bay will never receive any business from me. Rude customer service.

It’s hard to write a review when you don’t know where to begin, but I’ll try my best. Let me start by saying this was the greatest buying experience I have ever been through. From the first phone call to the moment I walked through the door, and until I drove off the lot with my brand new boat I had and still have nothing but the best to say about the company and staff at Muddy Bay Marine. They never once pushed or tried to sell me something I didn’t want. They allowed me to be in the drivers seat and they simply put together a package and made my fishing dream boat a reality. From the financial department, the manager and the sales, (Micheal Hawkins) they show up ready to work for you. Micheal went above and beyond what Muddy Bay ask him to do in my opinion and his desire to see you satisfied is his first priority. I am so happy with my purchase and boat I’m already convinced that I’ll be a life long customer of Muddy Bay and buying boats from Micheal Hawkins as the salesman. I researched every boat dealership within a 200 mile radius of my home in upstate SC and Muddy Bay not only came in cheaper on price, but above that their customer service is so superb it’ll make you almost forget about the price, but no worries cause they won’t. Have no fear. Shop at Muddy Bay and Let’s Take It Outside.

I had some warranty work done on my boat. They were very helpful and quick at getting the job done. They also made sure that all the work done was covered by the manufacturer.

Just bought my second war eagle from Muddy Bay. They are all so nice and treat you like family. Excellent price on boats, and great service. Tim the owner is one of a kind, and sticks by what they sell. Before you leave you are taught everything about the boat you buy, and thanked so much. I would not buy a boat anywhere else.

I was in search for a new pontoon boat and one of the places I decided to stop was this dealership. If there sales staff is any indication of the dealership than I would never purchase a product from this place. When I walked into the showroom I heard someone welcome me and ask me what I needed. I had no idea where the voice was coming from so I walked further into the store and back in the corner at a desk I saw a young man. This was the only person in the store at the time. This person made no attempt to get up from his desk and greet me, in fact I had to walk around to his desk to talk to him. He never shook my hand or made an attempt to enter into discussion. I explained my situation and asked what the price was of one of the units on the website was (because you cannot get the price otherwise) to which he responded that the boat was sold. This guy NEVER once try to engage in further conversation, offer to show me other units, discuss the advantage of their boat and construction to others. I drove several miles further down the road and purchased a new boat from a much better dealership. Do not go in here expecting a good customer experience.

The Muddy Bay Marine team is great. I bought my dream duck boat from them and the sales and service has been great. Kyle is who I worked with over there and I highly recommend him.

Good customer service answered all my questions

The worse sales and service Ive seen. I was lied to many times, and not once were they ever on time. Everything they installed on my new boat was incorrect. The pontoons are permanently scarred while trying to install underdeck lights. The duel batteries were installed incorrectly. After a year and a number of attempts it was returned worse. The owner was quick to blame it on me, and I didnt even have possession of the boat. The owner doesnt accept responsibility, and is out of touch with his business. Do yourself a favor and go right down the street to Wilson Marine.

Let me preface this review by saying that I did not buy anything. This review is based solely on customer service. I walked into this dealership with my entire family. I am in the market for a pontoon. I was greeted by two men sitting at a table. When I told them what I was looking for I was shocked to see them basically arguing on who would have to get up and actually walk with us outside to show us the boats. Essentially we were given the new guy who didnt have any real knowledge of pontoons. We felt like we were intruding on them even though we were the only customers in the entire dealership. Things like this genuinely amaze me. Customer service is really not that hard. Based on other reviews, it looks like my experience may not be unique.

CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO GET A SALES PERSON TO QUOTE ME ON A BOAT. AFTER NO CALLS BACK I DID CALL ONCE MORE TO FINALLY TALK TO A SALES PERSON..... BUT GUEST WHAT NEVER RECEIVED A QUOTE, CALL BACK OR TEXT. POOR SERVICE CAN ONLY WONDER IF I DID HAVE A SERVICE PROBLEM... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME......

Great products BUT Delivery was delayed hours later than promised. Since I came from out of state 9 am delivery promise came though at 4 pm. That was after 3 day delay Accessories ordered werent installed Commitments to send the parts later all have been total failures. Patience and grace wont work Love the boat and motor. The staff is polite and nice. Just dont believe any service commitments will be honored

Just bought a 2019 Bay 22 DLX Camo from these guys. I would highly recommend them to anyone. A pleasure to buy from, no pressure, sent pics and phone calls and texts to keep me updated while equipping the boat. All around good experience. My Muddy Bay saga continues. These guys had my boat for the entirety of the summer to replace the lower bearing. Then they told me that the entire shaft, upper and lower bearings had to be replaced. Then they said motor was leaking from the carburetor and they couldnt get it to run. I told them to just finish the shaft and I would work on the motor. I did this because I find it hard to believe that my motor was leaking from the carb due to the fact that it does not have a carburetor... it is DFI. Then I couldnt get the motor started either, until I noticed the kill switch had come off in the motor cover. After finding that, I put it back on and she fired off, with no leak. Then on top of all of this, my 4 month old driveshaft and upper bearing just burnt up on me yesterday. Ill finish by saying I am 20 years old and I think these guys just saw that as an opportunity to make some money off of me. I called them yesterday at 11:00 am after being towed back to the boat landing. Still havent heard back from them. Good for them.

Mike Tyler got much better service than I received. On 2 separate times I drove on to the lot, parked in front of the office and started looking at boats. First time there was one other customer. Second time there was one salesman showing a boat and at least 2 other customers walking around unattended. After 30 minutes, I walked back to my car. As I backed up. a young heavy set blonde man came out and just looked at me as I drove away. Both times I had cash and had intended to purchase. Wont be a third time

Terrible customer service after the sale. Never did what they said they were going to do. Never returned phone calls or emails. I would not recommend them.

No problems with the actual purchase of my boat but they do suck at returning phone calls or emails. I called over a month ago about a malfunctioning tiny tach that was under warranty and have yet to be called back. I contacted the manufacturer of the motor and they sent me a new one. I was also told the boat was ready a week before it actually was ready to pick up. I drove hours and was called one hour prior to my arrival to be told that the boat was not ready yet! Anyway, I wouldnt recommend these guys especially if service is what you are looking for.

Sorry place to deal with highly suggest if you in the market for a boat or parts go somewhere else Marshall’s marina is by for the best. Called here for a $40 prop hub and they told me they couldn’t sale me a prop hub but I could by a new prop from them and wouldn’t even look at ordering it or nothing glad I didn’t get my boat from them

They came through in a pinch with a part I needed for my Yamaha 60hp outboard last Saturday. Their parts guy, Eric Wessinger has went above and beyond helping me diagnose a small problem I was having with my engine.

Dropped my boat off June 8th and was told it would be 3/4 weeks. 6 weeks later I called and There was only one boat ahead of me. 7 weeks in, same deal. Got a call on the 8th week and approved them to replace the driveshaft. Got a call a week later and they(Ryan) said they were finished. I said okay ill be there next week to pick it up. After driving 2 hours to go get it they wernt actually finished but at this point I wanted the boat out of their hands. Long story short, 10 weeks and $780 later my boat is debatably in worse shape than when they got it. Plus they hit my trailer with something while they had it and broke my tail light. Do yourself and drive to Monks Corner and go to Cooper River Marine.

Recently bought a boat here and had a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to get things done for you and ask answer any questions. The most helpful person I came across was Justin so ask for him. The reason i didnt give 5 stars was that after I got my boat home i noticed a couple things on the boat that were worn or needed replacing. After calling them and explaining the issues they were happy to replace them but living an hour away didnt make it convenient. TIP for things to look at before pulling off the lot: make sure the transom saver is new (mine wasnt), check the lug nuts on the wheels to make sure theyre tight, check the seats to make sure theyre bolted to the pedestal firmly (one of mine wasnt), check that the bolts are tight on the pole guides for trailer so they dont fall off (one of mine wasnt). I always check these things anywhere I look for a boat.

This place is a joke. Tim Baxley is not a good business man and in my opinion is a crook. He over charges and under delivers on all he has to offer. Customer service does not rank very highly on his business checklist. You would be wasting your time shopping at Muddy Bay Marine. Trust me, you will very disappointed in going to buy your boat and purchasing your boat at this dealership.

Dont go by what they say they have on their web site. Drove 2 hours to find out they hardly had any boats in stock. While there spoke with a Thomas Byrd who said he couldnt get me a price on the boat i wanted because their computers where down but he would do it and call me, that was 2 days ago and havent heard anything from them.
