Tried to buy a refrigerator that displayed a tag saying it had minor cosmetic damage that did not affect performance and the manufacturers warranty was valid. When we went to complete the purchase they tried to sell us a protection policy for over $200 because it was A refurbished refrigerator with no warranty. Very deceptive.

Disappointed with the condition and prices of the appliances every time we give this place a try. The price discounts are not deep enough for the levels of damage IMHO.

Absolutely terrible service from this company. I was an easy sale as I was already interested in buying a washer and dryer for my business. Walk in the store, pay, and purchased warranty. When washer and dryer came the workers unloaded it and hilighted on the paper was a tip line. I tipped well not realizing they never stacked my machines as I was with a client while the delivery was made. It needed a certain piece to be able to stack which was never mentioned in the call with the third party delivering service. Once I rush ordered the piece to finally begin using my appliances machines instantly stopped working. After a couple weeks of calling with no answer we had to go in person to American freight and explain the situation. They then said it’ll be another wait before a new set comes in. They then dropped off appliances at my house instead of the business after I repeatedly confirmed this was the commercial address. Because they dropped off at my house I now had to wait another week and a half for them to “fit me in their schedule” to drop off at business location. After waiting, the new washer and dryer set came in and ALSO didn’t work. This was now the second set sent to me that wasn’t functional. I then called the appliance store and manager on site said there was nothing he can do for me. Until my partner called and the manager decided they would return ONLY under the condition I drop the appliances back off myself and exchange for another washer/dryer set?!? I felt dismissed because I was a female owner calling, and felt the manager didn’t come to a reasonable conclusion to make it right. After making many phone calls and stating we refused to rent a truck for another trip to the store they sent the movers out a 3rd time, tip request on paper, and workers then proceeded to say the washer and dryer sets didn’t work because the brand I chose. This place was a waste of money, time, and breath even talking about it. Ended up going through Home Depot with a cheaper option, way better brand and newer model, with an added discount for the business. They lost my business and will never step foot in there again!

What happen to this place, I loved prior management when it was sears, customer service was excellent, prior. I walked in today, I had to look for help and theses guys showed they did not like or want their jobs, especially the gray hair employee, didnt greet us, had no professionalism, the no care attitude was horrible. We took our selves and money out of this store.. either get new employees that want to work or close this location... worst ever.. I wish I could give no stars July 3, 2021. I just notice the gray hair employee never even introduce his self.

I wanted to take a minute to share what a great experience I had in the Newington store recently! I was immediately greeted when I entered the store. That is something that has gone by the wayside and I feel that it is so important to do, especially in retail. So right off the bat, I was impressed. Kevin asked if there was anything he could help me with and I explained what I was looking for as my budget. He was very knowledgeable and thorough and did not make me feel rushed or that I was being annoying by my very many questions. He was professional and exceeded my expectations. I have not had customer service like this in awhile. I left very happy with my purchase but also as a consumer . This is how it should be all the time! Excellent job, Kevin and the rest of the team!

I bought my dream couch here! Kevin was very understanding and prompt when I walked up to him about the couch I wanted that I saw online. It was delivered in 2 days. Very nice delivery guys, they were very careful. I would totally go back to the store and buy more furniture if I could.

Do not shop here! I purchased a “brand new” $1.8k washing machine 2 weeks ago and it’s been leaking since day one. I’ve called American Freight at least 10 times and nothing has been done. Hey said they’d send out a mechanic to look at the he machine and it never happened. Had to physically go back into the store to speak with someone and still nothing, nobody knows what to do. Absolutely ridiculous. I never had these problems when the store belonged to Sears. Save your money and shop elsewhere! I’d give them zero stars if I had the option. The one star is a curtesy.

Oh my gosh...what can I say? This was a crazy ordeal to buy a refrigerator that was made completely achievable because Kevin was diligent, helpful, and persistent. I love my new fridge. I havent been there since it was Sears Outlet and the 1st time was beginning of this month april 2021 and we were there looking for a bedroom set for my son, no one came over to us or asked if we needed help and we were there for about an hr and were annoyed so we left. Second time was yesterday 4/15/21 and after being ther for 20 min I had to go ask for help, everything I wanted wasnt in stock,it took the guy abt 15 min to look up 1 set and since they had pretty much nothing it was a waste of time. Finally found a set they had and was told it was going to be 650+ when the signs on the bed to buy each item would be abt 500 smdh I even saw a small couch I was interested in..guess not going to look elsewhere

Good selection. We were after a kitchen table but the quality is just not there. You can easily tell it’s particle board. Staff didn’t come over and help right away. Non pressuring environment. Recommended if your on a strict budget.

Quite the racket they have going.1. Market the product as open-box, cosmetically damaged at only 1/2 the cost.2. After customer returns product for hardware defects (consequently discovering these are actual refurb models that are not properly repaired), upcharge them whatever $ you want for a new unit, since all sales are final and exchanges only accepted within a 2 day period.During this time, their delivery men can be counted on to pocket accessories around the room, like stainless steel washer hoses or whatever valuables you have in the basement.But do select the delivery option because it’s on you otherwise to return a defective unit back.I’d open a lucrative franchise if it didn’t feel so dirty and immoral.Oh, one more thing, the exchange process…I made 18 calls into the store over a 30 min span until the rep finally picked up. Now when I got there, the rep was glued to the phone the whole time; it was literally holstered on his pant pocket.

Ok selection but do your research on pricing before committing. Also- do not bother with delivery service because it is not reliable. I paid for delivery service for a washer/dryer and was called the day before to relay that there was an emergency at the store and they only have one truck to handle all deliveries.I had to rearrange plans and ask for assistance to pick up my unit last minute. I was give a telephone number of someone who I was told, was a FORMER employee and could pick up my unit and deliver it. Such as hassle. I received a refund for the delivery charge but the hassle is not worth doing business with them anymore for any large purchases.

I need a stove, fridge, and washer today. There was not one that was a good deal there. The fridges were severely damaged goods at prices 10 to 20 percent off sale prices at big stores discounted off ridiculously high new sticker suggested prices not any real prices. The stoves were only 30 inches and all but 1 gas and not propane. There was only 2 induction at over 2000 dollars for something not perfect. The store is 20 percent of what it had 5 or 10 years ago as Sears. I PURCHASED MY WASHER AND DRYER THERE 10 YE AS RS AGO but they never dis the yearly maintenance that was supposed to be done included. It was a waste of time today. I will buy sale prices and bramd new that comes with am extended warranty from a big chain store like home depot or best buy knowing the store will not go out of business. Disappointed.

Worst customer service experience I ever had. I placed an online order on 12-16-2020 for a snowblower but couldnt get it because there system was down so they have my girl filled out another application in the store so we couldve get the snowblower that day (snow storm was coming that day) and the person in charge said he was going to cancel my order once their system was up and running but he never did and now Im getting charge for two snowblowers. Now, after 3 months he dosent remember anything and they messed up my credit cause I didnt pay for something I didnt have no knowledge of but I will be escalating this to corporate.

Just a bunch of couches and over priced refrigerators

A lot of selection in the refrigerator department. Other appliance were limited. If you are looking for low cost appliances this is not the place, at least not when I was there. They did have mattresses and furniture which seemed to be good deals but, I wasnt looking for those so I didnt do any research. If you are looking for higher end appliances and are ok paying $1,200 + for a fridge with a dent or scratch youll be fine here. Otherwise look elsewhere.

That store is so good and good service

I give them one star for answering the phone a couple times. Communicated with store that freezer was available, but couldn’t arrange pickup that day., so I changed order to delivery, and sent. Tried to call and confirm, as I was told that as soon as they got order they would pull from floor. At this point no one was answering phone. I was then sent response that unit was sold that night. Unless they sold it in the five minutes between when I was told it was available and I sent placed my order, I think they didn’t bother to look at order. Sales person, I talked to several times seemed annoyed as I tried to arrange a pickup, so I selected delivery.Then I couldn’t get anyone of phone.This is not the old Sears outlet. They are a broker that wants to get the most out the door with the smallest amount of work let alone service. I would never buy a warranty from these guys. The sales people are scratch and dent, so I would expect the same of their service.I don’t usually write bad reviews, and these guys seem used to it. I have bought thousands of dollars of furniture, appliances, beds from the Sears outlets in three states, and never had anything, but a great experience and service. All good things, come to an end.

I will definitely visit this place every single time one of my appliances breaks because this is literally the place to go to of you want something for a affordable price and if you want fast, friendly, helpful, affordable services and the reason Im saying this is because I had to buy a fridge and and I was delivered in 3 days and it was exactly the day that they said it would be delivered and something I dislike is their return policy which is only good for three days. Something I do love is for about $80.00 they deliver your frige for you and take your old one away.

They add Little to nothing in stock had some nice looking single items we was looking for a front loader washer and dryer after there a few minutes someone did approach us and ask if we need help we was just looking at that moment for a complete set they didnt not have anything

I found the appliance I was looking for even though it was open box and dented but I didnt mind when price marked was shown at about 2/3 regular price. Seemed like a good deal. Especially since I needed to buy and take home same day. (Btw, what you see is what you get, they do not have boxed stock of most items). I was ready to buy right up until I was told all sales are final - no refunds or returns. No manufacturer warranty either (but a protection plan was available for over $300 for 5 years). As I didnt want to risk over $600 on something that may not work and Id be stuck with or pay nearly $1000 for a scratch and dent with a protection plan, I quickly changed my mind. So glad I decided to go to Lowes instead. Got one brand new in box on sale for the same price as the damaged one and added a 5 year plan for $130.Also, I did not catch the salespersons name as he was not at all personable. Before he approached us, several employees had walked past and did not acknowledge us. I honestly felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there.

I had a issue at another big box retailer with my order. So I went to sears outlet in Newington to see what they had. I was able to find the same appliance I purchased at a lower cost and all it had was a small dent on the side that no one would see. Best part was I was able to take it home today. The sales person made the transaction nice and smooth. Definitely check them out before purchasing some where else.

I went to newington store to get help with a purchase I made in So. Windsor. Two different gentlemen helpful and trying to help me. Even gave me corporate # to call after I called store manager Bill Finn to ask if what I found out could happen. This man starts yelling at me. How unprofessional!! Im the customer who was done wrong. And Im trying to get a resolution and still purchase thru American Freight despite the issues Im having. I called # given no help. Manager not available and his voicemail is full so cant leave a detailed message like he says. And Im still dealing with an empty living room. And right now only store that can help me is newington but Id be paying way more then I originally agreed too and financed. To me thas very unfair to me. I even did the finance thingy all over again just so I can complete my living room and have a place for my family to sit. But to be screamed at and told NO absolutely not I wont do it when Im being told it can happen is just wrong, disrespectful and very,very unprofessional!!! Very bad customer service. Terrible!! I see why Bills assistant manager quit!!

I have purchased many appliances from here over the years. However this time around, I walked out without anything. Selection was small and what was there had obvious & badly damaged. Definitely not worth the trip.

Everything was fine with the amount of appliances. The checkout was very long. (The one person in front of us took 20 minutes) They had one cashier working to check out and the others were standing around doing very little. They wanted to know if I wanted the extra warranty which costs 40% of the appliance.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. They where able to find me a fridge that met my specifications. I was also in the market for a electric range but there selection was of only 1. Guess Ill have to check back on that.

I needed help finding a new fridge, and was really confused about what I needed size-wise. An associate, Peyton, was really helpful in helping me figure out what I needed, and finding me the best fridge at the best price. I wasn’t sure if this store was still open but I’m glad I decided to check it out for myself. Found some great deals on a fridge, range dishwasher and dryer. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a washer due to availability but was told that they receive trucks a few times a week and that I can check online to see new stock. I highly suggest shopping this store when looking for appliances.

I have bought several items from the old Sears Outlet in Newington and always been happy with my purchase. I would recommend the Newington location every time. The other locations not so much.

I need some new appliances for my house. Sears Outlet was recommended to me by several people. Sissy (sales rep) was very friendly and helpful. Sissy was very knowledgeable of the merchandise. The day I picked up my furniture out, Sissy wasn’t available but her supervisor, Payton was extremely helpful! I look forward to Shopping there again!

Bought Washer on 2/2/2020. Washer did not had a hot water inlet valve. Store people do not know the washer specs and asked me to contact the Master Protection Warranty people to get it fixed. I called the Master protection Warranty people more than couple of times and they say that the Protection plan has not been updated by the store in the system and they cannot locate or help. Spoke with Sears outlet store people again a number of times and every time I get an answer that Manager Kevin will call me back but that never happened. Spoke with Manager Kevin more than couple of times by calling the store and he is always too busy and will say that he will look and call back which never happens. To date the warranty information has NOT BEEN updated in the system. I called the Manufacturer and confirmed the washer only comes with cold water inlet.. I decided to keep it but I am really concerned that the Master Protection Plan is not updated in the system for warranty folks to look into case of any issues....I called today (2/21) and as usual Kevin is not available and store person says that Manager will call back.... Very frustrating experience,...I need this UPDATED in the system ASAP and a confirmation provided!!![5/3] I have not received any email, phone call or any sort of notification to confirm the Warranty info update in the system . Kevin - Can you please have this looked into?

My washing machine is broken. Drove from Providence to Hartford and doesnt even make it through the night.

I was not impressed with the selection of ranges. How can a store only have 1 electric ranges. The only reason why I am giving 5 stars was because the sales person was very helpful with answering my questions even though they didnt have what I wanted. They even offered to order one but we couldnt find what I wanted in stock. If your looking for a fridge they do have a huge selection. Also they have mattresses, furniture and other appliances here. Its worth a trip to see what they have.

Good prices, but very poor customer service, which we do not tolerate. No one makes anything we need so badly and that isn’t available from other sellers that they get to treat us like they’re only there to take our payment and like they’re entitled to our business without earning it. We arrived as soon as they opened after checking online for what we wanted. Wasted 45 minutes of them saying they didn’t have that appliance there, despite us showing the website. Only conceded to check inventory after us pushing, at which point they said they found it, but someone else had purchased it that morning. Except they told us that someone had called at 8:30am... on a day they did not open until 10am.

Nobody at Sears could find my online order so I called the store. Kevin found it in seconds. Gave me all the information I needed. He was extremely helpful an nice. Thank you again Kevin!
