The first place we have to visit when we go to Newport. Great coffee, baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. Staff is friendly and fun. The best is their outdoor patio to enjoy your goodies. It is a one of a kind.

What a fun place to get a specialty coffee, breakfast, snack or lunch. My dogs were able to go in with me and get a goodie too.

Great restaurant! All 10 of us loved our food. I had the Mokka French Toast, it was so scrumptious. Our waitress, Karrie was great and her infectious good nature made our day. I highly recommend Mokka Coffeehouse.

I am a local and went here with hopes to have a chill, good vibe to start off a Sunday morning. Looks can be deceiving - Mokka Coffeehouse has a very negative environment. There are so many rules - no box if you’re eating outside (or you will get “sprayed”???), no bathroom, no laptops, no phones... the list goes on forever. I thought this was a coffee shop not prison. The exclusively female staff were beyond stressed, hostile, and impatient. This may be a result of the chef (who is the only male employee working) screaming at the staff about order tickets. Ladies quit your job!! You’re better than that!!! The entire time I was in the vicinity, I was overwhelmed by negativity. The coffee was mediocre and there are many other places that you can get better service and better coffee. I have never wanted to write a review about another business - but given my experience it only felt appropriate.

Amazing!! The soy latte was large and delicious. The almond croissant was out of this world. The outdoor courtyard is beautiful. I cannot wait to visit here again the next time I am in Newport.

Good coffee.But very weird atmosphere with angry signage everywhere directed at the customers. I understand that serving the public is difficult. Owners and staff of all restaurants and shops have to utilize a very complex and demanding skill: interacting in a friendly way with customers, even those who dont always act correctly (and perhaps gently correcting them with a smile....even when you dont feel like smiling). Mokka has chosen to address this challenge with scolding signs instead. It is one approach. However, to me it feels unfriendly...and Im guessing it is only partially effective, and also succeeds in turning off potential repeat customers who dont feel welcomed into the space.This is just my personal vibe -- Im sure many others wont be bothered by the signage. And the coffee was good!

Not very friendly staff. Every corner you look is a sign on some rule they have. No restrooms, no laptops, please don’t eat here, please don’t touch, don’t eat to go food here. I was there for five minutes and felt like a toddler being told NO 100 times lol. Food was fine if that matters.

A quaint coffee shop with multiple options for everyone. I came for a breakfast sandwich(egg, sausage and English muffin) and loose leaf tea which was very yummy! The vibe was good and the food was even better. If the weather was a bit warmer and dry I would’ve eaten by the outside patio.

Was in Newport for the weekend and stopped here for coffee. The staff was standoffish and acted bothered... overall weird experience and coffee wasnt great. Really wanted to like it because it was a cute spot.

My wife and work remotely and decide to get a coffee and get some work done on a beautiful Saturday morning. We bought coffee and began working outside. We were told to leave after 30 minutes of sitting down because were taking up space and our computers were plugged into an outlet. If you are looking to get some work done or maybe charge your computer while you drink coffee, don’t come here.

Coffee was okay, pastry was very good. I liked the eclectic vibe and camel theme of this coffee shop. The employees seemed like they’d had a long day. Not much space and no WiFi, so it’s not a place to come and relax or study.

First time we was there, you can eat you can drink you can set but you can’t use restroom this make no sense, close the tables and do just make drive thru

Super quaint coffee shop with lovely patio outside. The atmosphere is charming. However, they don’t have oat milk (which every espresso bar should offer now) and their hours aren’t accurate online. Please get oat milk to keep up with us alternative dairy seekers. My latte was decent.

The bacon, egg and cheese was surprisingly bland, even with an everything bagel. The iced chai was mediocre. Had a better drink at Empire coffee. But the iced latte is really good!

I really enjoyed my ice house and my bagel at this place and I wish they had longer hours especially on Sunday but I loved there outside seating area.

Best coffee and a variety of yummy snacks and baked goods. I come here at least twice a week. The beautiful outdoor patio will leave you with a tranquil and relaxed feeling.

Amazing! The vibe and all! We had the pleasure visiting this coffee shop while vacationing in Greece last year. I love the city of Athens. Submerging yourself within the culture is everything. I Purchased a ton of goodies. Coffee, coffee and more coffee! I am now looking to them for many of my coffee desires. I am a total coffee snob. I love to grind and brew my coffee and espresso...I make the time for it each day. I never have to worry about a coffee origin I simply turn to their website and they offer some of the best including some geisha roasts. Forget the gentleman‘s name but I had the pleasure to meet him as well that day. He travels the world, hand selecting the beans. They have a great selection in there coffee shop with traditional brewing options and souvenirs as well. The place was packed when we were there. Family owned and operated I will definitely visit each and every year:)

During our vacation to Rhode island we would wake up every morning and walk down Thames street to Mokka Coffeehouse. Its cute outside seating and its lovely indoor ordering area makes a trendy location. I also loved how they are very dog friendly. Will definitely return when I come back to Newport.

Very rude help! We bought coffee and pastry had no idea they were closing at 3:00. We sat down outside to eat and they said we had to leave, they were locking the gate. We were picking up our stuff and they were saying you have to go now! The gate closes on you at 3:00, bunch of jerks.

Perfect cortado, but signs, signs, everywhere therere signs. I guess in a tourist town you have to post no cell phones at the counter, no climbing on the statues in the courtyard, no electronic devices on the tables, etc. but I cant say it did anything for the ambiance.

I loved the look and feel of this place. I wanted to give it 5 stars but their iced coffee was really weak.

Very weak espresso drinks. When I explained this to cashier she was so incredibly rude and charged me for an extra shot. This was fine, but she was bad tempered and went so far as to slam my change on the counter. Poor customer service with bad tempered counter girls. Drink was still awful even with extra shot. No apologies- just psychotic attitude.

We went here for breakfast one early morning and it was absolutely delicious! They have breakfast sandwiches that you maybe wouldnt think of! For example, I had no idea what to order so I sat down to wait and let my fiance order for me.The sitting area is all concrete. And by that I mean concrete statues of animals, people, tables, concrete benches, are all around for you to just sit on and have breakfast. It can get extremely crowded and you may find yourself sitting with other couples eating your breakfast. Be aware that they allow dogs in this area. So youll not only be sitting with another couple, but another couple and there dogs. Which is fine with me since Im a huge dog lover! And no, there not service animals.So I ended up getting an egg and cheese BLT and it was delicious. It was on a bulkie roll and they put your egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a bit of mayo on there and it was delightful. Absolutely recommend eating here. The prices are fair as well. I paid about $5-$6 for my sandwich and was full after my 4th bite! Well worth it! And GO EARLY! you will NOT get a seat if you dont!

Looking for a cup of decent espresso based drink? Then avoid this place like a plague.Here they dont even have a coffee grinder for that. Instead, they use some stale improperly preground coffee. What a misleading name for such kind of cafe.

The best coffee in Newport with a few wonderful specialties. Try the Icehouse - iced coffee with espresso and topped with cold foamed milk. They have THE BEST dirty chai latte. They use a brewed chai tea rather than a sugary mix from a carton - youll never want to get one anywhere else!The owners are very friendly and while they used to take cash only, they now accept credit cards.

Nice coffee, amazing mediterranean snacks, cosy atmosphere.The place has beautiful outside seating with a porch swing. They make regular coffee and espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc. They have small fridge with mediterranean snacks: tabouli, grape leaves, amazing hummus, pasta salad, etc. that are very reasonably priced ($4 or so). They warmed me a pita to go with the hummus too.
