Wanted to replace camper mattress and store salesperson (Karen) was VERY helpful and didnt try to sell me the most expensive mattress. The two gentlemen who delivered the mattress took the old mattress out and put the new mattress in the camper (with very limited space). They were so polite and friendly. Unfortunately, the mattress was too long and I had to order a smaller mattress, which I was able to do over the phone. The same guys delivered the smaller mattress. They took the mattress out of the camper, put it in a bedroom in the house, took the old mattress that was on the bed, and installed the new mattress in the camper. They went way beyond what was expected. This store, and their personnel, is AWESOME!

Good deals on every type of furniture. The staff was very friendly helpful and not the in your face type you sometimes get. I will be going there again soon!

Selection was great, Id give that a 5. It was a recliner Heaven, and home decor pickers delight. I did not have the most helpful salesperson. There was another gentleman who was much friendlier. I purchased, but it wasnt with much help or gratitude. Ill return, but, definitely will give someone else the commission.

She is very informative, provides us with current information. Like any other person there are some aspects of the furniture business which are out of her control. She provides excellent customer service, answers my phone call inquiries promptly, and always willing to go beyond her job description. Our satisfaction with Elma has given us reason to send our friends and family to work with Elma and she provides them the same great service she has provided to us. Glad Elma is there..

Very nice place, great staff. They are helpful, knowledgeable and will * go the extra mile* in regards to service, which speaks volumes. Customer Service seems to be becoming a lost art, in this day and age... And since I am so Old School, and worked so many jobs that involved Customer Service, I appreciate and respect those that practice knowing that the customer is a valuable commodity.My only suggestion would be to get a few more items that are relevant but dont look brand new, ( but not overly trendy) .. such as bookcases with storage and a drop down desk area, and consoles, etc.Other than that, good selection of items.

For several years my Father has purchased several items from Brian. He even referred many customers to Newton Store for Homes. However, he ordered a Stearns and Foster mattress ($1250) from Brian over the phone. Let me also explain my Father is a 94 year old gentleman, legally blind, a Veteran of WWII. When the bed was delivered unknown to my Father, there were no tags on the mattress and a receipt was never included either. I discovered this when making the bed. It sagged as well. No tags is a FEDERAL OFFENCE!!!! My Father felt like he had been taken advantage of. After all the business he had done with Brian. Then to top things off, Brian lied about me to the Investigator in the State’s Attorney General’s Office. He lied about me calling Brian to set up a time to visit the store and then we never showed up. I’m so disgusted about Brian’s lack of honesty after thinking he was a friend and all the money my Father has invested in Newton Furniture. I will continue to post my complaints on this website.

Purchased a Lazy Boy reclining love seat from them and have been calling them for over a year trying to get warranty work completed!! They always tell me waiting on parts, waiting on seamstress, and several other excuses. This does not include the struggle I had even getting the product initially. They are polite, but never resolve issues. Please consider shopping elsewhere if customer service is of importance!!7/8/16: Received phone call from Brian, wanting to resolve my issues. Brian very polite and has promised to replace my Love seat. Tells me it may take 4-6 weeks, Ill let you know If this happens or if its just empty promise like before.....fingers crossed!9/23/16: As promised, my new replacement love seat arrived today! Brian promised to resolve my issues and he did! Thank you Brian and Homes for Furniture for living up to my expectations! I now change my rating to 4 stars, could of been 5 if it wasnt such a ordeal......

UPDATE: Brian has communicated well after my initial complaint. He has answered every email in a timely manner and today we finally have our chair fixed. It is not the stores fault on the crappy manufacturing job. After everything that needed replaced the manufacturer should have just sent us a new chair.We have purchased from here 3 different times. We have dealt with Elma each time. Our first two experiences were great, but this third one doesnt even deserve a 1 star rating. I use to refer everyone here, but I wont again. We purchased two recliners this third visit. Before agreeing to purchase we were told it would take 4-6 weeks to receive our second chair. At checkout it went from 4-6 weeks to 6-8 weeks. My husband made several calls to see where our chair was at. Close to the 8 weeks one was in except it was not the color we ordered. We waited almost 12 weeks for our chair and Im sure we only got it then because my husband gave them a deadline to have it delivered. Magically our chair was delivered the day before said deadline. Not even 6 months after having the chair it has ripped at the seam in two different spots. This is not from the useOf the chair; the material had actually frayed at the seam causing it to come apart. I contacted them about the manufacturers warranty and Brian said it would be fixed for free. Here we are three weeks later and still nothing being done about the chair. I understand it isnt the stores fault it has frayed, but it is their responsibility to take care of their customers and doing it in a timely manner. I emailed again yesterday about the progress of this claim and havent heard a word. Very dissatisfied.

I recently bought a mattress from here and Michael helped me out, he was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. My parents also bought a new living room set from him were extremely satisfied with all of his help! We will definitely buy from Michael in the future!!

First off, let me just say that I have ordered every single piece of furniture from this store. A master bedroom set complete with mattress, a leather sectional, 2 twin mattresses, and a full mattress. Recently I purchased a table, couch, and chair and a half. I was told my table would be delivered the week before Thanksgiving. No phone call to let me know it had been delayed, but they then delivered it 2 days before Thanksgiving, however it wasn’t even close to what I ordered. The delivery guys were great and said to keep it and call the next day to figure out the next steps. Not sure why I had to call when it was their error, but ok. New table was finally delivered several weeks later and again not much communication. In the meantime, I received a bill from Wells Fargo with all the furniture purchased even though I had not received anything correct yet. That whole discrepancy is still being dealt with. Next, our couch and chair and a half was due to arrive the week of Christmas. No phone call with the delay, I waited and waited expecting the delay due to what had already happened. Husband called last week and they were having problems with the company and not receiving the right color of furniture. Again, I get that, but why could that not be communicated to us?? Supposedly we are to receive our furniture in 3 weeks but I’m not holding my breath. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company, and due to the table fiasco, I had also taken several afternoons off before finding out it wouldn’t be delivered as planned. As of last week, they told my husband they would credit us $200 but this has been more of a hassle than anything. And in all honesty, all I wanted was a phone call with an update when things didn’t go as planned.

We ordered a new dining room table. After looking through his catalogs Brian was able to find us an amazing deal, we were told we would get it in 10 days. We ordered it on a Saturday and received it the following Friday, six days later! The came took down our old table and put it in the basement for me and installed the new one! Great service, something I never would have got had we ordered from a big box store. We will be shopping there in the future and know we will always get that same great service!I recommend Store for Homes to all my friends and family.

My wife and I bought a dresser and a mattress from Mike Urias. We couldnt have asked for better customer service. He is very knowledgeable and helped us pick out exactly what we wanted. This place is great! Honestly, its kind of an embarrassing story but I went in to look for a bed and the next thing I know I woke up to what I believe was about a 20 minute nap! Only reason I woke up was because some kid was shaking me and asking if I lived there! Clearly I found the mattress that I liked! No body even hassled me for the cat nap I took during a busy shopping day. I ended up buying the mattress and worked with a gentleman named Mark I believe. He was very helpful! I would definitely go back! Actually, I think his name was Michael because I remember we had the same name.

The lady I dealt with, Elma, is worthless. Took six weeks to get my recliner and Im still waiting on the warranty papers that I paid $150 for. They sure didnt waste any time taking my money but for some reason its been 2 months since I paid for the recliner and warranty and I still dont have the warranty papers. If Elma approaches you, tell her to piss off and ask for someone else. Or go to a completely different store.Update: 12 weeks now waiting on warranty paperwork.

We are really happy with our furniture but we purchased fabric warranties on the 4 pieces. Its been 3 months since we purchased our furniture and I still havent received the fabric warranty we purchased. Very, very frustrated with them. EDIT to review: I have received a call from the store and they have quickly sent the warranty paperwork. They have done everything they could do to make sure that we were taken care of! Thankful for excellent customer care! EDIT: Been three additional months and still waiting for the warranty issues to be fixed. 😕

The guy that offered to help with table was very nice but the lady we have been trying to purchase something from really didnt explain the terms as to the furniture loan purchase and didnt really seem to know how the program worked. I didnt feel confident knowing that they were going to automatically take money out of my checking after I have been recently hacked so that made our decision not to purchase.

Bought a loveseat recliner in September 2018, in November it had mechanical failure. Two nice guys came out and took a look at it on a Monday. Friday I called because nobody there did. I was told, parts were ordered for it. It is now December and nobody has called or touched base on what is going on. It seems that the customer has to keep theirselves informed because the store is too busy or too good to do that. Will never buy from there again

Very disappointed with our latest transaction. We have bought furniture from this store from the time it opened in downtown Newton about 20 years. That being said, bought a recliner and floor lamp and paid off everything to be delivered August 4th of this year. Was told by sales associate that floor lamp we bought got broken while being cleaned and would need to have a new one ordered in. Would be about 4 weeks. No problem. 6 weeks pass, check on lamp, still on back order but should be in soon. 8 weeks, same story. Call on October 30th, was told didn’t know anything about it, but will have Brian look into and call back. No call. Called today, November 2nd, Brian not available again & once again Mike who answered didn’t know anything. Going out tomorrow to get refund on lamp and will buy elsewhere. Have another order of bedroom suite furniture and daybed that will be be terminated also.

Purchased a sectional from store for homes it arrived great, then a year later a handle broke on the recliner section and we have waited over a year for a replacement part they keep saying will be in later this week. Will never buy there again!!!! We paid extra for leather warranty they will not enforce nor will they reimburse. Very disappointed!!
