This place is amazing and worth 5 stars. I visited Pastimes Comics & Games on Free Comic Book Day with my boyfriend and nephew and we loved this place so much! My nephew wants to come back once he heard there was Pokemon Game nights. My boyfriend found a card he has been looking for forever, and at a great price! I absolutely loved the selection and the set up of the store, the selection of dragon goodies are amazing and the staff is super dope!! I also absolutely love that they had a lot of staff on hand. It was busy that day but there was always someone available to help and answer questions, plus the staff is energetic and super fun to chat with. I would 100% recommend this comic book & game shop to anyone and everyone!* Reply to the owners reply, I accidentally confused this shop with another so I accidentally gave it a lower star than it deserves. It 100% deserves a 5 star rating!

Used to be favorite store and I was always so excited to go and bring my friends. Now they are just scalpers with a store front because it doesnt make sense to sell at MSRP as they told me. Really disappointed that they put profit over players who enjoy the hobby.The femme presenting person with short, colorful hair who works the Pokemon register is always a displeasure to interact due to her attitude on pricing.

I think everything is fine except for their prices which is a big deal. Many things were at scalper prices for example I went to a store and got a Dark Slyveon V for 20 dollars. When I went their to buy cards I found it for 40 which is ubsurd. I understand they need to make money but they should abuse fans and their love for Pokemon just so they can make extra money.

Wow! I got the most amazing stuff at Pastimes and the staff member who helped me, Royce, was simply terrific. She is the wizard of all things Pokemon. And so incredibly friendly and helpful. Ill be back because of her!

I can understand the pandemic hitting the hobby industry pretty hard, and needing to raise some costs to keep business sustainable. What I cant understand, is selling a new product at almost double the items MSRP on the day of its release(charging $35 for a $20 product). Youre better off sticking to big retailers instead of here if youre looking for sealed product(I certainly will).

This store has so far been my favorite card shop to go to. Im a fan of the Pokemon TCG, so I can only speak from what I saw from that series. Their sealed product was pricey, with everything $5-$10 above what their market value is online. However, I was impressed by their collection and organization of all their singles! Theyre fairly priced and correctly labeled according to their condition. They have a system in-store that lets you search for specific cards too, which was super helpful. Just keep in mind that if youre buying singles, have your own top-loaders or other protectors ready!The cherry on top of the experience was the excellent customer service. I mainly spoke with Mitch, who was very friendly and amiable! However, every other employee there was also very pleasant and welcoming. They were very helpful in letting me know what they have and where to find it. I didnt feel rushed at all to look at what they have, which was super refreshing. Just a side note, but they also treat their younger customers very well too, so dont be afraid to come there with your kids!While I didnt really look at it, they had a pretty sizeable collection of comic books, board games, and Magic to search through as well.Overall, 5/5 experience! If I wasnt so far away, Id definitely come in more.

Good service, staff there was pretty helpful. They price gouge the heck out of Pokemon cards though. We paid $100 for an Elite Trainer Box and a couple of days later I saw the exact same box at Barnes and Noble for half that price. Decided to give them another shot a couple months later (not sure why) but I purchased the same pack of Pokemon cards at the sports card shop down the hall for $2 less than what theyre charging. Maybe theyre more reasonably priced for all their other collectibles and comics, but look elsewhere if youre searching for Pokemon cards.

Pokémon cards were overpriced for example the v union sell for a retail price of 30 dollars they sold them for 50 dollars, I could probably get better prices from scalpers.

Went to buy the new yu-gi-oh tin for my younger brother and target was sold out. Walked in to find them selling it for almost double the price as the big guys and I was very disappointed. No wonder their shelves are full of product.

Always a great selection of cards, games and comics. They offer fair prices if you want to sell cards, and are very fast an efficient when dealing with bulk cards and very careful when dealing with rare and expensive cards. Great experience overall!

This store has a little bit of everything. Staff is really nice and helpful and always greet you on the way in. They also have the best seat in the mall as its the first store you see on your way in.

Now I wish I can give this Store a higher rating but there are some things I want to say about why I’m sticking with three stars. Overall it’s a pretty nice set up where you have DND, Star Wars legion, comics and much more. However the price is high for example other competitive like Amazon eBay and gaming goat would sell Star Wars legion clone trooper phase one 19.99 but in this store it’s 24.99. It’s a very pricey store I am a Star Wars legion Guy and I like how they have everything here but it’s the price that gets me off. The other reason is customer service there has been a lack of communications when it comes in store and over the phone. Some will give the typical attitude over the phone some people wouldn’t really check. But I guess there are some days when people have bad days. However I did find interesting about the metal dice, unfortunately I can find those for a much more lower price rather spending $40 here I can find this on Amazon for $17 with the same style and color. So what I ever come back to this location, from time to time if the other stores don’t have what I’m looking for. What I recommend for anyone if there are certain things I have yes but when it comes to pricing I wouldn’t recommend it that high. This is a pretty nice store it’s just the lack of communications and The cost of the price for each product

Great people! If you have any questions about anything, the employees are friendly and know what theyre talking about. Its a cool hangout, prices are mostly fair but theyre worthy of still seeing me sometimes a few times a week so Id say its well deserved of checking out.

Im used to my home LCS in the city, now that Ive moved out here, Ive stumbled upon this gem. They seem to have a decent selection of back issues which Ive yet to dive into, staff seem friendly but Im an omnivert so I have yet to fully interact with them.

A very nice, clean, well organized store if youre into comic books or any kind of gaming. They had a huge selection of all kinds of tabletop games and cards like Pokemon, etc. Right now because of Covid it looks like theres less in person events but I would imagine pre-2020 and hopefully again soon, this is a welcoming spot if you are into playing board and card games.Also a good selection of comics and graphic novels, and all the new comics youd ever want.The staff was also very nice and welcoming and professional.

Really great experience. This all boils down to the staff. They do have a great selection but the staff is amazing. When you staff a business with fans, you are only going to get a positive experience and these people are fans. They really care about you as a customer and about the games and comics that theyre selling.

Went into the store to get my kids $200worth of pokemon cards. For his birthday. I was wearing a mask my 5 year olds was not wearing a mask and we literally were asked to leave inthen asked for a manager and they had the nerve to call the police to try and get me arrested. I will never shop there nor should you of your shopping for children. How dare you try and put a single father in jail for trying to make his kids happy!

New Pokemone ETB retails for $50 came out today and they sell it for $140....Beware of these scalpers : [UPDATE] While i expect a charge over retail most Local Comic Stores charge $80 for a $50 retail product, you are charging almost 3x the retail value, even 2x would be alot, that is not customer service, that is you taking advantage of scalpers raising the prices and you doing the same. no better then a scalper

Pastimes has been a reliable source for some excellent comics and manga even during all this COVID business. The store has a lot of variety, including board games and collectables, but they also ship on request. The best part is there are streams all week long for Magic, Pokemon, and even a comic book club. I live in Chicago, but the short drive is worth it.

Great place. Stopped by to learn how to play Pokémon to teach my daughter. The employee took her time to explain the general rules and the lay of the land. She genuinely cared that my daughter be able to have fun. I dont know about the tournaments and such but any place with employees that care and are passionate has to be a great place.

I game here weekly as well as buy all my games and comics here. The new location in mall is great as it gives access to the mall bathrooms as well as some food options. There is always tons of parking. The staff are attentive and always try to help you find what you are looking for and if they don’t have it, they can probably get it for you.

Ive been coming to pastimes since it was in Edens plaza in the early 90s. Friendly staff and environment. I play in magic tournaments and play casual D&D with friends here. I buy magic singles and board games and dice and soda here. Lots of table for playing games if you dont have free space at home. This is also my stop for free comic day.

Awesome selection of comics/board games/tabletop games/card games and more! I wandered into Pastimes one day and now I go once a week. Mike, the guy in charge of comics, is awesome. He helped me start building my comic collection. He is super knowledgeable and even showed me how to subscribe to weekly/monthly comics! Now I just show up once a week and everything I want is there waiting for me! Not to mention, subscribers get a nice discount, AND if you are looking for certain variant covers, Mike will do whatever he can to make sure he can get them for you. No need to worry about overpaying for a common variant (like most comic shops do. They get a variant and instantly mark it up by 300%). This place is highly recommended and the new location is much nicer than the last. If you are a comic reader, Magic player, board/tabletop game enthusiast, Funko Pop! Collector, painter of miniatures, back-issue comic collector, or just want to check out what this place is all about, wander in and I guarantee you wont leave empty-handed!!

They have an amazing inventory system that means you can enter your cardlist onto a computer and they go grab what you wanted. For me not sifting through boxes or finding a good angle to avoid the glare of display cases is the best way to browse!

Im not into these types of games, but my kid is. I took him here a few days ago and I have to say the place is pretty cool. Lots of stuff going on. There was a lot of merchandise and the prices seemed reasonable. My son got fair trade value for his MTG cards.

Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and they have a pretty large selection of tabletop games and comics. They have card game nights most nights of the week, including some Commander, draft and then Friday Night Magic.

Pastimes is the place to go when youre having a big gaming event. Ive been to dozens of tournaments at this store over the years. They always have good people running the events, generous prize support, and a bright and cheerful atmosphere to play in. Their retail side is pretty good, too. They have a good selection of games and supplies, and every TCG youd ever want to play.
