Hands down the most reliable and most affordable mechanic. Ive had two different major problems with my truck and Luke at A-1 has taken excellent care of me both times. Most recently he fixed my transmission, rear main seal, and more in less than 1 week... out of over 10 mechanics I called in the area, A-1 was the cheapest... The excellent and honest work is not a bad plus. Thanks A-1!

Have had to bring my Truck into A1 about 3 times. All 3 times I’ve gotten my vehicle back excited to drive it again(major fixes)Last one was a complete new front end on my Tahoe. I didn’t expect to get my truck for a day or so, the owner Luke called me later that evening on a Friday night and had personally stayed late to knock it out. Makes a HUGE difference when you have a mechanic you can trust and delivers every time. A1 will remain my mechanic in Oklahoma.

This is the most honest and experienced mechanic shop i have encountered. They worked on a couple of my vehicles prior to the last vehicle i am about to talk about. I sent my truck in to be repaired after it quit on me. After hours and days of man hours of trying to resolve the issue, i was told that it couldnt be mechanical and had to do with electrical. The owner was a straight to the point kind of guy. He referred me to an electrical shop that he recommended, could probably get it fixed. Here is what amazed me though, i asked the owner how much i owed since i knew they had spent some much time working on it. He told me i didnt owe him a thing because he didnt fix it. I offered to pay for his time and he said no. I mean, what other mechanic have you encountered that will do this? I am going to be a lifetime customer at A-1 Automotive. Oh, and the electrical shop the owner referred me to was able to repair my vehicle after a week.

I highly recommend A-1 Automotive.Backstory: I spent $250 at a very well known transmission shop in west Norman just for “diagnostics.” The kept my car for 2 days and they then quoted me upwards of $1300 just to fix my problem. Couldn’t quite tell me what the problem was but that I had one and it was a BAD one. I wasn’t buying it...Here I am today and I brought my car into A-1 and they pulled it in, not even 10 minutes later, they found the problem. One of my coils was UNPLUGGED, that’s it. They plugged it back in and now my car is running like a dream!Luke is very knowledgeable and has great stories! 10/10 take your vehicle there!

Whether their intentions or not, I honestly felt they cared about getting my car into shape without trying to take advantage of my wallet. I brought my truck here to change rotters and all breaks but they only changed the front. It seems for them to do the job right you have to be a regular. Left my car overnight and the owner smoked not caring for others for third hand smoke, the place stank. Luke, the owner, was inpatient and made me feel like he was doing me a favor. I got charged $375. They forgot to bleed the breaks when I reminded him about this, he became defensive and wanted to charge me 20 dollars extra. I had high hopes for this place given the google reviews but this is a let down. I would not recommend this place to anyone. He yells and cusses at his employees. Go some where else. This place is not worthy.

They did work on my car. They were quick about getting to it and getting the work done. Good fair price. He didn’t add on a bunch of extra stuff to fix just to get more money. They told me straight up what was wrong and have honest and fair business practices. When I need a mechanic again and am in that area I will use them.

I take my car to Luke if anything goes wrong. Just went for the second time as my OTHER wheel bearing decided to go out. Luke fixed my first wheel bearing which is holding up very well and he fixed my second wheel bearing which is also holding up well.My parents have also used Luke for the first time and their car is running like new.Luke finishes in a timely manner and does the job right the first time.Definitely someone you can trust with your car.

Took my 05 Hyundai Santa Fe in, for a timing belt change. Luke and his crew did a great job, at a great price, and absolutely lived up to their terrific Google ratings. I highly recommend them for any repair needs. The front office staff is so very friendly and welcoming - and the mechanics are top notch, and do not up-sell. Theyre really, really friendly folks and they will absolutely earn your repeat business.

I walked into A-1 and I spoke to a wonderful lady named Lily, I explained what was going on and what I had been experiencing with my vehicle, she proceeded to tell me POSSIBLE problems that I may have been encountering. After taking a look at my issue, a nice gentleman named Luke explained what was going on and different ways or options of resolving the issue I had with my car. Every step of the way I was consulted and explained what would be going on and what I needed to fix the problem I had with my car. They were so helpful through the whole stressful process of getting a car fixed. They were so cordial and friendly that I will DEFINITELY be coming back for future issues!!

Our college kid had truck problems over the weekend, after reading the reviews for A-1, I called Monday morning and spoke with Luke. He correctly diagnosed the issue over the phone and said he could have it done the same day if we got it in soon. Within the hour he started working on it and sure to his word it was done the same with a perfect running truck. Thanks Luke and A-1!

From my first phone conversation, Luke was very up front giving me two estimates based on different issues that might need to be addressed with fixing my heater. Based on a previous diagnosis at a neighboring mechanic, I thought that the vent door actuator needed to be replaced. Instead of just replacing it and telling me he was done, he kept me updated on his progress and tried out multiple different solutions until he made it work. The actuator wasnt the problem, but the wiring of the panel. He charged a very fair price for the hours spent troubleshooting and repairing, and also saved me a bundle by repairing the existing panel instead of charging for a replacement. Honest, fair-priced and communicative, Ill be going back.

A few months back (when the weather was still warm) my ac started acting up. I had taken it to a big name shop and was shocked at how they were trying to nickle and dime me...I decided to take it to Luke to get a second opinion and was amazed at how honest and up front he was. Went to get my brakes and rotor wheel replaced. (I had the parts) Flat $85Found out I needed a new Brake Caliper (Leaking heavy fluid), Got me a reasonably priced part, installed and on the road. Fast, Honest, Convenient. Will exclusively use this shop.

Very quick turn around, he had my car for only a couple of hours. A little bit more expensive than Id hoped, but still quite reasonable. Within $100 of an internet estimate for the work done. He did push me to buy new breaks, but my breaks were very very bad, and I wasnt aware of that!! He did list some other things that needing fixing soon, but did not push me to fix those, saying they had life in them still. A little gruff, but seemed honest, and I will definitely pay a bit more for some honesty and good work. Parking there is terrifying though, be prepared. Would return!

Needed a thermostat installed on my Infiniti due to overheating. The dealership wanted close to $500 for a $20 dollar part. Not many shops will let you buy your own parts and bring them in, but A-1 auto had no problem with it. Saved me hundreds of dollars, and Luke was very up front and honest about everything. Had my vehicle back to me the next day and my car is running nice and cool again! Highly recommend A-1 auto!

Believe all the 5 star reviews. Luke and crew are honest, knowledgeable, and good at what they do. I was recommended to A-1 and will never go anywhere else as long as theyre around. On my 86 Grand Wagoneer, they installed a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection conversion system, Edelbrock intake manifold, timing chain, fixed the heater... And they let me use some of the parts I hand picked for my project. Never once did I feel I was taken advantage of. Since my project car is a Jeep from the 80s, Ill definitely be back regularly. In fact, its getting hot. Better have them get my A/C going...Edit: Luke converted my A/C system to R134a far more easily and quickly than I had expected.

Luke is fantastic. Ive taken my car to him several times over the years. Pricing is good and hes always very upfront with you. On a few occasions hes told he could fix something properly at X price, but then explains a cheaper alternative. He makes less money here, but he hes always honest and gives you those options.When I moved from north OKC I was worried about finding another stellar mechanic. After a few terrible or mediocre experiences, I was told to check out A1. Customer and friend of Luke ever sense. Good people here.

My roommate went to have something done, only to come back with more problems. I tried to take my car in for a misfire and the owner laughed at me and told me to go somewhere else. Never going here again and I will never reccomend it to anyone else .

I chose A-1 Auto because it had some of the best reviews in town for a mechanic, and Luke seemed like a standup guy. Fast forward to two weeks after I’ve taken my car in (two separate times now) and it’s still having the same problems of misfiring and the check engine light on. I guess I’m glad he didn’t charge me for work the second time since he didn’t look at it for more than twenty minutes after my car sat there for six hours. Perhaps that’s what I get for trying to go local and avoid big name dealerships.I’m disappointed as I feel like if he knew he was unable to work on the car and diagnose it properly from the beginning then he should have made that clear instead of wasting my time and endangering me by allowing me to continue to drive a malfunctioning vehicle. This isn’t the quality of service I expected. I can get not working on the car if you don’t know how, but I anticipated more integrity out of him as a shop owner to let me know he couldn’t. What a disappointment.But hey, the cost for work is cheap, just $85/hour, so if you have an older vechicle maybe he’ll be the right guy for you. Just double check the work yourself because otherwise you could just keep throwing money at a problem that is misdiagnosed.

I had a great experience, despite the situation with my truck. Not many mechanics will let you see whats going on and give you real time feed back, but Luke does. He said I had the worst wheel bearing he has seen. When I pulled in the shop, my wheel bearing stuff was smoking hard core, the tire was wobbling and they had the water hose ready and sprayed it down because it was piping hot!I called him that Saturday morning, after everyone else I talked to told me it wasnt something they could fix same day. He told me to bring it in and hed knock it out for me, and that he did. There was much more wrong that we thought, but he checked prices to let me know ASAP what it would cost and actually cut me a deal on some of the parts I needed, and got me out of there lickity split. Ill be back for sure.

Took my Expedition to a local shop, they told me I needed catalytic converters replaced, but they wouldnt do it, so sent me to Performance Muffler in Norman. He told me nothing wrong with converters, but wasnt sure what was wrong with it, so he sent me next door to A-1. Heard the guy banging around in the back on my truck, came back in and told me EGR. Cheap and quick fix. Will be coming back.

Not many shops will let you take in your own parts and use them without complaint. Of COURSE I know that Im responsible for the parts condition! I KNOW this already! The guys and gals over here KNOW what they are doing and have been doing it right every time! Big Plus: If you know your way around automotive, hell let you into the shop so you can see him doing his work... that lets you know what he has to go through to get things done, lets you know if he breaks a part (He hasnt yet on any of my vehicles! But I know that it can happen,) and shows you how to do it yourself if you so choose to! I LOVE hanging in the shop while hes working as that lets me chit chat while hes working so I can pick his brain on things that MIGHT be going wrong on my other vehicles and gives me a price that is LOWER than other shops! Seems to me the situation was taken advantage of. I was charged $235 to hook up a tail light wire.No phone call or estimation of price to repair. I know for a fact the time spent was was grossly over stated on the bill. I wont be coming back.Get price in advance if you have work done here.

I came here to have a 2nd opinion on a car. They were able to show me the problem and save me $400. The problem was not the heater core like i was told by my former mechanic. My drain tube was corroded. Awesome service and pricing. I will be using them in the future.
