Eye was looking for eyeglass retainer strap that would FOR SURE keep my glasses from falling on the concrete & getting all SCRATCHED on the lenses. Finally I found ACADEMY has a big selectionI found a retainer strap that really GRIPS my glasses frame ear pieces. The way they connect is better than most. And Academy gives a military discount (10%). Thank you.

The cashier at Customer Service, Jacob was absolutely fantastic. I was wanting to purchase a Yeti with a straw lid but wasn’t able to find one on the floor in the size and color I wanted. I brought up a different yeti that did have the straw lid and was fewer ounces than the yeti I wanted and asked if I could just swap the lids. When Jacob explained that he couldn’t because they are different product numbers, he immediately said he could go check the back to see if there was the yeti I wanted with the straw lid. Though he didn’t find one, he brought an alternative brand lid and straw and offered to open it to see if it would fit. I didn’t want to mix brands but he told me I could order the yeti straw and lid online and even wrote down the product number for me to search. He was so helpful and pleasant and a great representation of your store. I truly appreciated the lengths he went to, to help me. Keep up the great customer service; thank you for all you did!!

Academy has an excellent selection of various products at reasonable prices. Its become my go to place, especially for hunting and fishing products.

Went in to buy a shotgun. Sales person was too busy proped up on the glass case. Willing to answer questions but not so willing to move. Needless to say I left without a gun. Ill go to a different academy and buy one

Firearm and fishing section is staffed by friendly knowledgable people going the extra mile to answer questions and help with selections. Clearly all other departments are equally as user friendly. Prices are also fair. Academy was a pleasant shopping experience well worthy of a visit for your sporting goods needs.

I love Academy and shop there regularly. It was my first time at this location and wow, their process for exchanging items is kind of a joke. I wanted the exact same shoe (same style, same color). I just needed a size smaller. Instead of making a quick easy exchange, I had to wait in two lines, and go through two separate transactions to return then purchase the shoes. I was annoyed so left after getting to the second line. Ended up purchasing the shoes online, so there’s that...

Great Academy that is close to lots of other shopping and restaurants. They carry lots of OU stuff. The ammo section was running really low, but they get regular deliveries and dont price gouge.

I love Academy! It is one of my all time favorite places. They have everything I need from fishing and hunting, to summertime and winter clothing. They have a great shoe selection. Great outdoor selection from grills and patio stuff to chairs, ice chest and everything in between. You cant go wrong.

Went in to buy shoes. And find fly fishing Rods. Couldnt find one . cashier asked if we found everything ok? Instead the normal answer being yes. I spoke up and said no couldnt find..... He wasnt even listening me! Why even ask if your not really concerned if I found every thing? Just saying. Every one seems to run on auto pilot these days!

Great store for your clothing and other related products they offer needs and desires.. But, restrooms need attention! This is not the first time they have been pitted out when I have visited. Not that difficult to have an employee checking them hourly and being held accountable for the stores cleanliness. Especially in the world today. Will lose business over small stuff like this especially since it is family products you offer, and that means your kids are usually with you shopping. Clean your restrooms!

Walked around baseball section for at least 15 minutes, had multiple questions and no employees around to ask. Go to check out, stand in line for a few minutes, cashier has to walk away with customer to check on something. He asks me to get in in the customer service line. Customer service lady tells me I can’t check out there and I need to get in line at a different register behind 4 other people that all arrived at check out after me.I finally make it to the front of new line when the original cashier returns and the customer service rep instructs me to move back to the first register because he is now open. Stood in three different lines and had to watch multiple check out before me that arrived at check out after I did.

I feel like I spend to much money at academy because I will go for something small and they have so much at great prices that I spend way more then I plan on

I found my shoes easily, my boyfriend found a great pair shortly after but my son had a hard time finding a good pair in wides. We finally found a great shoe after searching for about 45 mins. None of the employees asked if we needed help so I was a lil upset about that. But overall we all 3 found a great new pair of shoes for each of us.

Great location and i nearly always find the size 15 shoes i need.

The shifty looking fellow at the gun counter ruined one of the adjustment turrets on my red dot while bore sighting my rifle (I didn’t have the time to do it myself). He then said “I really didn’t know what I was doing” to me afterward. Not complaining a whole lot, what could I expect from an underpaid worker who could honestly be doing a lot better but the low wage/poverty cycle keeps him and his coworkers grinding away in a service role. I wish him the best, but darn I loved that optic.

Went to get a volleyball. They had it. Been here before ato get a trampoline and bike. I like to look around as well. So low on bikes. But I guess thats everywhere. My go to for anything sports for sure.

Right now the stock on fitness equipment, tents, and bikes is low. They have good options on shoes as usual. I like their Adidas selection for men, and always enjoy browsing the grill section.

I had the best customer experience at this Academy location of all locations I’ve been to... ever! Sorry in advance for the long review...My bf and I were looking to purchase a canoe and Academy had it for the best price for the one we wanted, but it was nowhere near us in Dallas, TX. Thank goodness the website allows us to view which location had it in stock and it said the closest was in Norman, OK - apprx 3 hours away. We didn’t mind the drive, but wanted to make sure the item was in fact there before heading out.I called and spoke with Jay. He confirmed that it was there and asked if I had something to pick it up in because it’s a pretty big canoe. He made some helpful suggestions and to make the purchase online and he will have it set and ready for me to pick up. We headed out as soon as I placed this order.When we got there, all the employees were super nice. I waited in the “online store pick up” area and the lady was still with a customer and another employee ended up helping, so I wouldn’t have to wait. Didn’t get his name. He told me that they are getting it set and will bring the order out. Then John came up to us and guided us outside to where we needed to pull up the truck. Jay, John and 2 other guys helped put the canoe up, but they didn’t stop there. They watched to make sure it was tied on tightly, they even brought out styrofoam and cardboard pieces to make sure the ride back to Dallas didn’t damage the truck or canoe.Overall, I wished they were closer to me because I’d be at this location anytime I needed to head to academy. They were super friendly, so helpful and you can tell it was way more than just a job. They were genuinely helpful.Thanks Jay and John!!(By the way, it’s all good - we all made it safely without any issue.)

Although they do have some things we are looking for, they are always out of most things we need. Their shelves are always half empty, especially in camping section. We dont have many options in Norman for camping gear. So we find ourselves here looking for camping gear.

Sales on clothing at reasonable prices

Very few employees are friendly. Most seem to not want to be bothered. No one to talk to at the treadmills so Ill buy one on line somewhere else.

Selection of clothes is decent but jackets and hoodie I feel were very overpriced. You can get the same nike, under armor or Adidas hoodies for 10-20 bucks less at Kohls and obviously online even cheaper
