What a great find! We have several grocery stores around here and I would have to put this one at the top of the list. Not to mention the cultural diversity of the foods they offer. One of the best ways I determine a grocery stores cleanliness is standing in the seafood section and seeing if I want to through up or not. At this store, not only did I not feel sick but I actually stood around awhile because of how delicious it smelled! In short, highly recommended.

My dad use to shop here when I was a kid. Now that I am back home I am now going to shop there more. Better then all the others around.

My son and I went grocery shopping Sunday, deli wasnt busy at all for once. Fruit and vegetables are looking much better. Wished they have a better selection of bakery goods.

I saw the plants outside and decided to stop because I have my own garden and wanted to see what they had. Their prices were on par with other stores so there was no sales benefit but the lady that was out in the garden department was phenomenal I bought spaghetti squash and there were 3 plants in the container that I bought I already knew that they could be split so that they could grow better but the fact that when I got to the register she explained that to me And that I would get more production out of them if I did and how many inches to plant them apart and then when I asked about keeping them in my car while I was at work she gave me ice out of her cooler for her drinks to keep my babys cool until I get home in the evening now thats customer service kudos to you ❣

Loved way too many things to list! Bought basil plants for my garden that were really reasonable in price. Deli, clean and sales were good. Homemade meatballs and their selection of local bottled jar sauces was impressive. bakery cookies were delicious! Will definitely be back!

GREAT PLACE FOR THOSE BARGAIN PRICES !

I shop here often. The prices are good, the staff friendly. I dont buy steaks here as their meats are only USGI, but ground beef, pot roast, pork chops are all fine. Their sales on chicken are the best prices around and the quality is great. Their fruit is so-so, you have to check it over, their vegetables are fine.

Great selection of groceries at reasonable prices. Very clean. Deli staff were personable and efficient. I will go back to this store.

Was shopping here today and they have an absolute horrible employee( He told me his name was joe blow, his first name is robert one of the other nice employees told me), he makes a remark as I was walking into the restroom. Hes like what you going to walk into me? I wasnt even close, but oh well. I drive 20 minutes to this location and I get this kind of service? And it seems like corporate is like oh well. Was hoping for a follow up call, but we shall see. This experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Might just go to other closer stores, than have to deal with an employee showing his unappreciative attitude. .

Good store for something quick

This is an old fashioned suburban market, one that looks like it was pulled out of the 1980’s. (Yes that’s a good thing.) They have a wide selection of European foods, a small bakery with a vast verity of breads and sweets. I really wish that they would check the expiration dates on the Irish & Scottish foods. Irish and Scottish food is usually prepared fresh without preservatives. I accidentally bought a full jar of Irish sandwich mayonnaise, took it home, and found out a week later (after I tossed out the receipt.) that it expired in January 2020. I also bought some foil wrapped, Scottish shortbread only to find out that it expires in five days. Let’s hear it for deep freezers! Anyway, these are just small hiccups compared to the years that I have been shopping here. They really do have a fine selection of meats, wine (even Greek wine!), beer, cheeses, olives, even Irish soda bread all year long! They are also great for snacks. I’ll see you there!

Love this place. Great selection of meats, produce, and everything else. Their prices are amazing compared to Marianos or Jewel in the area.

Thanksgiving today. Car lot looks packed but inside I was able to get my things fast. All the cars probably last minute things. Been in Norridge for years and only do at this butera. Nothings perfect of course. S so I dont want to exaggerate. The staff is always helpful. They dont just point and say over there when you ask for something. They take you to the item. Do great customer service.

I went to the deli yesterday and i must say DENISE or whatever her name is, is a very disgusting person. Not only did i witness her verbally attack a customer because DENISE was too busy engaging in a social conversation with her friend but got upset when it was time to do her job!! How many times does a person need to complain about hostile workers before we physically have to defend other customers when they are being attacked by this staff.!

Lately I’ve been highly disappointed with this location. Not only do the employees look miserable doing their jobs, but I also keep noticing mostly everything they sell is expired or close to being expired. I will no longer be coming to this location.

Great store .Its a quiet shopping, no loud music or people being loud.the fruit section takes up at 30% of store .there is a bakery with cakes to order as well.fresh baked bread and pastry. Meat department is large enough. Deli department with all kinds of cheeses and sandwich meats.also ready made foods chicken .pasta etc . There is a small alcohol section as it should be .the rest of store is large with all kinds of product . AND NO CHICAGO TAXES .LOL

In my opinion this market might be the best kept local secret.1. Best prices anywhere local2. Everything is FRESH!3. Large meat selection with real butchers and high quality product. They go as far as having fresh duck and rabbit.Prompt and extremely courteous, experience service.4. ALWAYS clean5. Im yet to see better sale prices anywhere.Give it a shot! Its a positive and pleasant shopping experience all the way down to there homemade subs on Gonnella bread.You wont be disappointed.

The store is nice, sale prices great.. lots of theft at the store. Make sure box, carton, etc havent been opened Before. I Bought a PKG of waffles for my grandson, got home there was a package missing from the carton. Ive tried and tried to get e- coupons to no avail. I cant even get digital ad paper to load on my phone. They have poor- Bad technology. Ive asked at the store about it, they cant answer. Other than poor e- technology - and watch for open pkgs. Great prices for what you get.

I generally enjoy shopping here, but this time I was truly concerned that other shoppers and staff were ignoring COVID safety precautions, especially the arrows in the aisles.

Store is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.This location is larger and has more variety and stock.

Low prices... good selection... clean!

Main problem is that most of the employees are not very friendly. They can be very rude and crabby. Many of the cashiers dont even help with bagging, they act as if they expect you to do it and I do help a lot because by then I just want to get out of there. By far the worst employees are the ones that work the Deli counter. They are very rude and seem as if they dont want to serve you. Some of the young men have poor grooming habits. Long hair and beards should be netted or at least trimmed better. One of the ladies picked up a piece of cheese off the floor she had stepped on and then just started handling the cold cuts again without even changing her gloves, thats gross. The produce here is also not that great. Vegetables are just okay but the fruit always seems bruised or even starting to rot. I no longer get excited when I see strawberries or cherries are on sale because I know they will be about ready for the garbage. Other things are generally fine and the sale prices good, but this just is not an all around store. The Butera thats a little further east over in Harwood Heights is much better.

I just wanna give a shout out to Jeff, he was an upstanding guy and took care of me with no problems! I had a problem with Gambinos with a rotten watermelon and they basically told me to kick rocks, butera is totally opposite. Jeff and butera you have earned my business for good, keep up the good work butera!!

I love the selection of imported cheeses here. The staff is always courteous and its nice having the staff be helpful also.

Very old fashioned. You would think this place would be remodeled after 30 years to keep up with the nice new Marianos stores? Employees look miserable. Jewel and Marianos newer, brighter, and more fun to shop.

Letting customer in without masking up and when I mentioned it to the cashier she said its okay she has a scarf on but it was around her neck not covering face unacceptable Ill never go back !!!!

Clean friendly place to shop. Low prices and good produce. Bags are free and they still bag your groceries even if you bring your own bags.

Butera market on cumberland &Montrose . I go there to shop. Get the sale when you walk in. The store is clean . The employees are nice and helpful. In the evening its not crowded. Also its not chicago so you dont have to buy bags. Free bags. No hassle.

This is a decent grocery store. We came around 9 oclock in the evening, right at the close so it was empty and quiet. They have a good selection of meats, bread, milk, etc.. They are much cheaper than jewel and Marianos so if youre in the budget, its a good place to shop. The place is clean and the shelves look stocked.

Dated looks and produce is hit or miss. People working are friendly and Im always the youngest person in the store when I go so old people talk to me

Expensive place . They raised the prices when pandemic hit. I was disappointed, now I only shop here when If I only want one thing . I will not recommend it for a week grocery.

Received extreme attitude while my fiance and i were checking out by Kyle. My fiance is a man of color.. he was okay with the women ahead of me.. but completely rude to my fiance and i. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK NOR WILL I BE TELLING ANYONE ELSE ABOUT THIS PLACE.

The be Tara market is much like Tonys. They have a large variety of food at a lower cost compared to jewel. Pricing is very decent as well.
