We stopped by this little store front deli after arriving at the airport. It had 5 stars so we had to try it. We love Mediterranean foods. The gyros were huge and the large fries were crispy warm and perfect. Way more than we could eat! The owner is an especially kind man and greeted all with a smile. He even gave us some fresh hummus to go with our meal.I hope the locals support this establishment.
Incredible! Found this local secret from a friend and it definitely did not disappoint. The food is so fresh, healthy and well prepared I think could eat it every day. Honestly might have been the gyro Ive ever had. Also, there is a Middle Eastern market with items that you cant find anywhere else in Charleston; Turkish dried olives, several different types of zataar, spiced paprika flakes, Arabic pickles... we took a bunch of stuff home and cant wait to go back. 10/10!
OMG food was mind blowing it was so fresh made fresh ground and tasted so authentic… rich with original flavours, myself being from the same food’s region i would say it was way beyond outstanding … so delicious, fresh and tasty …hummus-falafel- baba ganoush AND The MIX GRILL PLATTER with saffron basmati Rice and the grilled vegetables was ABSOLUTELY my top favourite ….highly recommend…..its like a hole in the wall shop but nothing a like . Must try it .
This place it truly AMAZING!!! We went last night before they closed & the owner Wally welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. All of the food was the BEST around. He made our food whole we waited and gave us extras at No charge. We are going back for sure. Please dont pass this place up, it is a must try and youll be so glad you did. Thank you Wally for a wonderful dinner. My new Favorite place.
Saw this little gem when pulling in to actually eat somewhere else. We decided to give them a try. Glad we did. They are a little Middle eastern store with a small cafe, literally 3 tables. We order hummus, chicken shawrma sandwich and a chicken kebab sandwich. I tell you that was the best hummus I have ever eaten. The pits were fresh and hot. My husband didnt have much of a conversation because our sandwiches were that food. The staff were super nice and asked many times how things were. We will definitely being going back.
I bought a lamb gyro that was absolutely delicious. It was packed with flavor and the size very worth the price. Customer service was excellent and I didnt have to wait long for it to be prepared. Overall awesome.
Me & my Mom come here frequently to eat and shop. First off, the owner Walid & everyone who works here are very kind hearted & genuine people! The food is hot & delicious every time we go. The service as well as the atmosphere are great...we always feel very welcomed & comfortable here & and everyone is treated sooo kindly. If you enjoy this type of food or need specialty groceries or both, then you will enjoy coming here all the time! Thank you Baba Kabob for the wonderful food & service!
We were so pleasantly surprised by this wonderful place. We had not planned or searched but rather stumbled upon it while visiting a neighboring shop. We are SO glad that we did. The food was excellent but the service and attention and care of the shop owners was the highlight of our visit. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend to all our friends!
I love the chicken kabob and baklava! The price and quality of the food is second to none. We will stop here every time to pick up lunch or our dinner when we get home from a flight. Very convenient to Tanger Outlet’s and the Airport. I also just decided to serve their food to my guest visiting as well.
Tried this restaurant today, for the first time it was very good! And staff was super friendly. My daughter ordered the falafel sandwich and I ordered a gyro platter. Will definitely go back again!
Absolute shame I didnt know this place was there. I ordered a chicken shawrma sandwich plain. The chicken, garlic sauce and pita bread worked so perfect together. My belly is happy.
We love this place, had the fallafal platter, and it was huge. The food was very tasteful and loved every morsel of it. We are coming back here again.
Had the pleasure of eating lunch at Baba Kabob. We tried an assortment of items including the gyro sandwich, the mixed grill platter, hummus with pita, and tabbouleh salad. All were FANTASTIC and very fresh!! If you are looking for Mediterranean food in the Charleston area, give Baba Kabob a try - you will not regret it!
I really like the new management. They are very welcoming and warm and offered my son a drink when we came in. I’ll definitely come bs k here! Also, the freshly prepared food is really delicious 🎉💜
The food was amazing and the service was great. Will 1000% come back here again and definitely check out the grocery side more closely.
We were lucky enough to discover this gem while on a day trip to Charleston. My husband and kids devoured their gyros, while I had some of the best falafel Ive ever tasted. Everything we ate was delicious and the owner was so friendly - he even shared a recipe for homemade stuffed grape leaves, which Im looking forward to trying. Our lunch was so filling that we had to take the baklava to go! We just got home and tried the pistachio baklava and it is scrumptious! Excited to try the goodies we grabbed from the market, too. Well definitely be back!
The food is amazing...The staff is so nice. I love this place... Try the lamb gyro or the lamb platter
I order the Kufta plate, falafel sandwich for later and a large hummus. I drove the 27 minutes from my house because we don’t have any amazing options in Goose Creek for anything besides hamburger, pizza, sandwiches, chicken or Asian takeout…I miss halal food and the only time I could ever get in now that I no longer live in the Middle East is my daughter’s house. So if you have never had Kufta, it’s lamb and they serve it with the proper rice, grilled vegetables. The first time I had this, I lived in Turkey. If you are familiar with middle eastern dishes, this is authentic. I also had a wonderful chat with the gentleman who I am assuming owns it, very nice folks there…you will come back!So delicious!!And the other nice thing is while you wait for your food, you can shop for their products in the market area. It’s worth the drive and that’s why I buy more than one meal so I have some fir later.
Very delicious food! Will go back again. The lamb gyro platter was amazing
Everytime I visit Charleston I have to have lunch here. The best Falafel Ive ever had. Food made to order which is always a plus. The hummus and salad are also amazing. The owner is always friendly and welcoming. He always make sure your satisfied with your food. Im a huge supporter of local restaurant and this place is #1 on my list when Im visiting here. They also have catering wish I could have them in my area.
A WINNER - Gyro - HUGE and delicious; Chicken Shawarma - equally as excellent. Top it off with the best Baklava Ive had in the city. In a word - YUM!
Great restaurant and market, owner is a really nice guy, and his gyro and falafel are the best Ive had in a long time. Prices are extremely reasonable for what you get as.
Words cannot describe the immense flavors from this kitchen! If you’re into Middle-Eastern food at all, this is a must stop. Spices are absolutely on point! Best kibby and grape leaves in town- no question
Under new ownership .Absolutely a 💎. Second day om the row to this deli.food extraordinary.amazing customer service and the price is a steal .highly recommended .thx Walid
The absolute best — from Egypt with pride! I salute you! Thank you for bringing wonderful food to the community.
Jerusalem Market and Deli is a great place to grab a delicious Mediterranean meal prepared by a very nice gentleman. I ordered the Mixed Grill Platter, which includes grilled chicken, kofta, hummus, rice, salad, and a pita. Actually, I was shocked at the size of the pita. It was not like the pita bread I get from my grocery store. My appetite was growing just smelling the food while he prepared my meal. Everything tasted delicious. I will be back!
Delicious food, friendly staff...Chalafal Sandwich is rich, filling and delicious, dolmades are fresh and packed with great flavor.
Incredible Middle Eastern food!!! We found this gem while visiting Charleston...yum! And I lived in Cairo! Two small tables into the front of a grocery store with a grill and DELICIOUS chicken shawarma, gyros, hummus, baba ganough and buttery, fresh off the grill pita bread... all delicious. Super kind owners. Can’t wait to come back.
Best Palestinian food!! So fresh & authentic. Most amazing (pistachio) baklava I’ve ever had. Dolma is mouth watering. Everything hit the spot. Thank you so much for existing! Much needed here!! ♥️
Food is so authentic and delicious and cooked with so much love. The market has so many items you can’t find anywhere else in south carolina.
This is little hole in the wall restaurant and market. Fantastic food at a great price! The market has a lot of mediterranean/ middle eastern foods and spices that you may not be able to find elsewhere. There a few tables to eat inside if you want to. I had the lamb gyro. Filled me up! Will go back again!
Baba Kabob did not disappoint!!!! Super friendly people, the store is clean and organized and the food is phenomenal!!! We had chicken and lamb kabob sandwiches!
Super tasty middle eastern Market. Great food. We thought it was a Jewish deli. Its not, but glad we came there. Only 2 tables if eating there. The shawarma and baklava are delicious!
The store is perfect, it has everything i was looking for and me and kids were happy with the food
Best falafel & shawarma sandwiches in US
Good Eastern food, great delicious, and distinctive flavours, God make you succeed, my love, and expand your livelihood.great food
The schwarma platter was incredible! Best humus Ive ever had. Dont sleep on the coffee and desserts;)
I wish we had the option to give this a -1. Dont waste your time or money here. There are so many great places in Charleston to eat, why settle for a substandard establishment.
Awesome food and super friendly people. Glad we found it!!
Mashallah, so sweet. Absolutely beautiful experience. I think I got the chicken sandwich and it was great. Nice store and products. Allah bless you all Ameen
Was very good wife had the gyro I had the schwarma and orange 🍊 Fanta. Reminded me a some of the little shops in Haifa
Lovely new owner ship, friendly, very well stocked
Try the Chawaffle Sandwich! With chicken and falafel ☺️ Super kind people.
I always seen this place & I am so mad I just now tried it after a few years of passing it by. All I can say is OMG!! Delicious!! I literally just finish eating & had to let everyone know this is the real deal & I am hooked!! I promise you wont be disappointed. We had the gyro, Shawarma platter & baklava.
Family owned,very nice place,tasty food!Great service!
Delicious! Thrilled to have found Palestinian food (one of the best cuisines in the world) in Charleston!
Growing up splitting my time between New York and New Jersey, I always loved the flavor that you get from a prepared meal from a deli. I really enjoy the lamb gyros here. If you want a fuller meal I also recommend the lamb shank with rice which also comes with the little salad. Very tasty. The store also has multiple flavors of hookah and also small, medium, and large hookah kits to get started at home.
Most of the stuff is months past the expiration date, but they have things you cant find anywhere else!
IF FOOD QUALITY IS YOUR STANDARD, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The shop is small: two isles of specialty items, most packaged with foreign languages on the wrapper. The layout encourages you to walk down both, with the deli counter at the end. The older gentleman who runs the place is behind the grill; his deep voice and witty humor will make you smile. His accent is strong; pay attention to what he says! I had the Jerusalem mix: yellow seasoned rice, two fried meat cakes, two fried something cakes (delicious), one fried cheese (goat?) stick, a fresh citrus-y chopped salad with a tangy white dressing, a cut soft pita and a large dollop of hummus. I ate in the shop, which seats around 14 people total. The owner brought me my food and checked on me several times. When finished, he suggested sweets (I chose baklava) and coffee. Both were excellent. I paid at the counter and exchanged plesentries. I will definitely be back!
Great hummus, gyro and shawarma without the flight to the Middle East. The food is fresh and cooked to order. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful. The place wasn’t really intended to serve meals but they do a great job with the space they have. I would recommend it over some of the other Middle East/ Mediterranean restaurants in the area.
Good food super nice owner recommended.
The best food in town an very friendly place I will go back again
The best chicken Shawarma In town Period
You could find all Mediterranean condiments and various cheesese, meats and sausage. One of the best in town.
Theyre got good gyros and shawarma, not the best but acceptable, I only visit for lunch.
Excellent food and lots of it! I will be back!
If you like Turkish coffee, this is your spot.
My Grandmother, Sitti, was Lebanese. I learned every single thing about making traditional food from her, as I was of 34 grandchildren, and the only one who cared enough and grew up so closely to her, 2 doors down. She was my best friend and I was her favorite grandchild, as she would tell all of the others. This place reminds me of grandma, Sitti. Enough said, they are amazing and I wish that I knew about this family the day that they opened this amazing place!!!! I have truly found my grandmother in this deli/grocery!!!!!
My top spot for tasty Middle Eastern food. Dont worry if its busy, it is worth the wait. Staff treated us so nice.
Excellent food test, very clean, polite staff
Great place! Good food and good people.
Amazing gyro that was fresh and super tasty with a side of warm friendly service. Highly recommend.
One of the best restaurants, thanks to the distinguished management

The chicken shawarma platter was amazing!
Horrible food horrible people. Mice and cockroaches are coming out of their kitchenDo not eat there!!
Great food, great service, excellent placeHighly recommend it⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic falafel! Better even than the falafel in Jerusalem itself.
The owner and cashier are super nice! The food is amazing! I can grab a shwerma sandwich and go my grocery shopping all in one place!
I would *highly* recommend going here. Their food is at a great price and super fresh with fantastic quality. The owners are very nice and they have a lot of other international things to buy. My new favorite place for Middle Eastern food!
Food was really good and the owner is super nice!! I’ll be a patron for sure.
Kind family, I found them to be honest and very helpful.
Extremely good middle eastern food and baklava. The best Ive had in Charleston. They also have goods that are nearly impossible to find in Charleston. If you like middle eastern foods, you must come here.
Incredible food! Amazing staff!
This is an authentic restaurant and store.. the food was exactly as it would have been served overseas.
Great food and experience.
Perfect restaurant & tasty food
Small bodega-esque market with a variety of spices, candies, snacks, halal meats, bread, dairy and grains. They also have a small kitchen and serve up lunch, we didnt get to try it on this visit, but it smelled so good in there we will back. They also have house made hummus togo, and I have never had a better hummus in my life.
