I can’t say enough good things about the experience we had buying our first boat at Scotties. The staff was amazing throughout the whole process. They made sure we felt comfortable buying our boat from them. We also even had them do some custom cushions and shade for our new vessel, which came out amazing! I emailed Dale almost 2 weeks ago looking to fabricate a tow bar, replace my ttop canvas, install a cooler slide and make alterations to an old cover. After not getting any reply, I called the receptionist to make sure they had received my email and pictures - she confirmed and insisted someone would call me by the end of the week to discuss. Still nothing. I sent a follow-up email yesterday and never heard back - brutal. Take your business to Action Welding in Cape Coral - they got back to me in 2 hours with a fair price and are professional / responsive.

I had Scotties repair several boat seats and build a new, custom Bimini for my 28 center console. The work looks great and was completed in less than 2 weeks. The customer service was fantastic and friendly. My overall experience was the same as when they installed new awnings on my house a year ago. Fantastic!!

So I’m restoring an older boat and called them because most of the reviews looked good. As bad luck would have it, the receptionist, when I asked her a question, didn’t answer it and placed me on hold. I’m willing to pay top $$$ to get my boat upholstery replaced...they lost out! HORRIBLE first impression. Go to a place that cares...

Very unhappy with canvas it leaks more than before.. Scotties you were out here several times instead of throwing a hose up there to find out where the leak was at you were in too big hurry. I had one leak before and now I got leaks coming off the top on to the bars coming down. Don’t try to blame someone else for your mistakes so sorry I didn’t keep my old canvas. So don’t try to blame Dean because he was doing what he thought was going to help you had been out here several times before he got up there. Three leaks verses one is pretty bad. Every time it rains I’m out there at least an hour mopping up water. I could say a lot more about another customer that you done, but evidently they don’t care, but I do.care about the leaks.

We had Scotties make a bow pad and back rest for our 20 Angler last year. Their workmanship was outstanding, and the finished product very good quality. The new additions matched the existing cushions exactly! This year, we purchased a power pole and had it mounted. Once again, they did not disappoint. Their price for the pole and installation was competitive with other area merchants. The installation was challenging due to some factory wiring issues with our auxillary battery. They went above and beyond to fix a problem not of their creation, without any additional cost to us. I do not hesitate to recommend Scotties! Thanks for a job well done.

We just took our Pursuit in for new Strataglass fabrication. It was completed within a two week period and we couldnt be happier with the finished result. They did a very professional job and the fit is perfect. I would highly recommend Scotties!

I dropped my boat off to get a bid on a new bimini top. Three weeks went by with no call. I called three times to remind them that I was waiting for someone to contact me to get started on a bid. Each time I was assured that I would get a call today or tomorrow . After another week with no call, I drove into their lot, hitched up my boat and drove out. No one even questioned if I was the owner of the boat. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the girl that works there was at least polite and friendly on the phone.

Usually a pretty good selection of watercraft but when I was there they were putting in all new stock. Great canvas makers for you boats or even at home on your patio. Friendly staff.

While we were in Ft. Myers Scotties made and installed a very nice two panel sun screen for our Kadey Krogen trawler. The sun screen is very well made and looks great.We had an issue with some snaps. I contacted Scotties and discussed the necessary adjustments. We had subsequently moved to Longboat Key Club Moorings. Scotties was determined to make us happy with their product and sent Scott, who manages the business, to Longboat Key to do the work.it is not how you fail, it is how you recover. I just purchased a 25 center console from Scotties, coming all the way from Illinois. Mike was fantastic and very fair to deal with. Mike and Cade made sure the boat was in excellent working order prior to my arrival in Ft. Myers. They even changed the trailer tires and greased the bearings for my road trip back home. These two went above and beyond to make sure my experience boating in Ft. Myers was excellent, even offering a free Sea Tow in case I needed it (which I did not, thankfully). I would take my business back to Scotties without a doubt, as long as Mike and Cade are there to take care of things.

Great job on the boat lift replacement cover after a bit of a slow start. They even replaced some bad eye ends on a bimini they had made 4 years ago at no extra charge. Very professional.

So far my experience with this retailer has been pleasant and professional. I live in Michigan and am a 1st time boat owner. They answered all of my questions, and helped me pick out the right boat and bimini covers. I had searched all over the internet and all over my local area retail stores for these items and couldnt find them for the same pricing Scotties offered. I havent received my items yet, but Im expecting them to be top quality and exactly what I ordered. A lot of retailers sell Carver marine canvas products, but none can compete with Scotties pricing. Hoping everything fits and looks great when I receive them. Thanks

7 months and 9 days after this small sail shade project started, we finally found a resolution we could live with- barely. With our salesman and production people, we experienced a lack of communication, delayed response times, broken promises throughout, poor quality, poor planning, poor measuring on our house, the shades or both, botched workmanship, wrong size, vague or non-existent timelines, missed deadlines, blaming their supplier, blaming each other, sloppy and damaging workmanship, botched repairs, ignored requests. We were very patient, probably too patient- we kept thinking it would get better and they would come through- they didn’t. There were 22 extra holes from moving the anchors around during several attempts to install correctly- then they smeared silicone caulking in and around the still protruding holes and even over the original penciled-in anchor marks- maybe in an attempt to hide the marks. In the end I agreed to install the original wrong-sized sail shade myself at a reduced cost. We would rather have a right-sized sail shade that reaches the original marked anchor locations, but in the end lost all faith in them being able to do anything right on this project. I had to move the anchors again to get it to fit right. Even the owner failed to communicate directly with me. The front desk person was the only person who was responsive and conscientious- the one star is for her.

Had great service from these folks. Needed the awning repaired on my RV while passing through town, Heather did a great job of finding the parts I needed and a reliable servicemen to do the installation.

Going down hill they donot do alot of things these used to. ie welding ect.

Orst Customer Service I have ever experienced. Takes forever to get a return call and even then the service is so poor.. DONT ORDER anything that you may have to return, Even if its not your mistake.You will have to pay for their clumsy mistakes by paying a Restock fee and shipping fee. Ordering from this store was the worst mistake I could make.They didnt even have the item I ordered off their website. They had to go through Another company to get my item. Which sounds like a SCAM to me. I will file a complaint with the BBB and Consumer Protection Agency.

Knowledgeable helpful but high-priced

Scotties Canvas & Marine Outfitters, North Ft. Myers, FL, took my boat in for first evaluation of engine(boat had been on trailer for 9 years, w/water in engine area) They quoted me $2000.00 for repair of existing engine. I questioned that the engine was even salvageable, but the Manager, Mike, insisted that Scotties could repair it. Mike also stated that I would be covered under warranty for parts and labor. They then charged over $6000.00 for labor & parts. After getting the boat back, I had continuous issues of the engine over-heating and warning lights coming on. I had to be towed back to the dock. The engine seized and has to be replaced completely. After changing more parts that didnt need changing the engine died completely, Dale, Scotties owner informed me that they did nothing wrong. Scotties claims to be merc/cruiser certified but I checked with Merc/Criuiser and they say Scottie;s is not certified. I have spent over $6500.00 with them and now have to replace the engine due to their lack of knowledge and failure to provide the promised warranty. Scotties is either guilty of fraud or negligence. I feel Scotties has lied to me from day one and never stood behind what they promised. They just kept replacing parts some of which did not need to be replaced after another shop took the boat they informed me they should have never done what they did to the boat from day 1. I looked at the Florida Statutes and under section 816.15 it is a 2nd degree misdemeanor to knowingly and fraudulently substitute parts when such substitution has no relation to the repairing or servicing of the motor vehicle/vessel. I want full restitution of the money that I paid to have my engine repaired. I also want to be compensated for the stress and aggravation over this situation that Scotties egregious behavior has caused.

I was warned by the other boaters in my FT Myers Marina not to do business with Scotties as they were considered the worst canvas shop in the area, I should have listened, they are with out a doubt the poorest run company Ive run into in South Florida.

Micheal the service manager listened to what our needs were and helped us find a boat that fit our needs, and when the boat was found there were some things we wanted or needed changed, Michael told us what was going to be done and it was, we couldnt be happier with there sales and service process, thanks Michael!
