We had gone to another Eggs Up and thought the food was good, but the service wasnt as good. However, this one had great service and food. The restaurant was cute, rustic. It is located just off of downtown and we were headed to the Farmers Market and decided to stop for breakfast first. We walked to the market from the restaurant and were able to avoid the downtown traffic. We would definitely return!

This is my go to breakfast spot during the week before work and after an early morning workout. They open at 6am and always has my order ready within 10 to 15 minutes. It’s also nice to go inside and eat or on their patio. The weekends can be pretty busy and sometimes there is a slight wait on the weekends, but still worth it for good service and good diner food.

Great concept and great looking menu. The food quality was the problem. The egg had no flavor and the sausage was the cheapest sausage Ive ever had. This place would be so much better with local quality ingredients. Coffee was great and the sausage gravy was real good. They also let the local homeless come in and talk you into giving them money. They gave him food which I think we all have a responsibility of but dont let em bother people visiting or they wont come back. Also clean the windows, window ledge. Great looking place with cheap looking diner tables and booths. Get heavy decorative tables and chairs and youll fill this place more.

Eggs Up Grill, located on Augusta Road in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina, was a great breakfast experience. The coffee was hot and fresh. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was outstanding. I had the hash and eggs, and it was more than I could eat. Thr location is great, just a little off Main Street in the West End. Give them a try next time you need breakfast in the downtown area.

It took a long time to be seated but I did not grumble like others in line. After I was seated no one waited on me. I waited ten minutes being ignored by the waiter. Then he came and waited on the table next to me that had just been seated. So I got up and left. I have eaten here once a week for quite a while but will never eat at the Augusta Rd location again. I drove over to the McAlister Square location and was seated and waited on immediately.

Unfortunately the weather was really nasty cold wet. However they did put one of those heat lamps up, which was nice in the awning protected outside area. The staff is very friendly, and kind enough to be working on Christmas.

Review №36

To begin, I’m honestly a little impressed at the service based on the apparent staffing issues. One host and one server for mid-week brunch. At the same time, I’m glad that I originally wanted to sit outside, because the temperature inside the building wasn’t much lower. Not having working A/C in July is pretty rough. After being seated, it *felt* like a while before the server stopped by for a drink order, long enough to peruse the whole menu and decide on meals as well, but it was maybe 10 minutes max. They were out of the Rosé for mimosas, so we got the classic. Not impressed, here, as it felt like the ratio was backwards; orange juice with a splash of bubbly, rather than the other way around. I’m glad we didn’t pay for a carafe’s worth.I requested caramel flavor to be added to my iced coffee, and since it’s likely outside their normal practices, I can’t be too upset that they added the syrup after the ice. It just meant that I had to stir for a long while to get it to dissolve. We had to ask for cutlery when the food arrived, but it was hot and pretty tasty, except for the eggs being over cooked. The food quality is the reason for three stars rather than two.The home fries/breakfast potatoes were easily the best item. Not to say that the banana pudding French toast or cheddar and andouille omelet were poor (they were good as well), but the potatoes were very well-seasoned and fried, not soggy. Best potatoes in memory. There was an issue with charging a couple things as a separate side rather than the up charge listed on the menu, but they cleared it up without a fuss.We may come back next time we visit Greenville, when hopefully the staffing crisis is better.

Monday, May 3rd I came to Greenville to attend the state Baptist Convention. I stop at Eggs Up Grill on Augusta St. The food and service was great! I decided to eat there again today (6th) on my way back to Rock Hill. To my dismay the food and service was terrible. As I was seated the server approached my table and asked for my drink order. Because she did not display an id badge I asked her her name. She stated that that was personal and that she did not have to give her name.It was down hill from there. I asked for coffee and a glass of water. I noticed that the spoon was dirty and gave it to the server only to not receive another spoon. After a long wait my food was terrible, the potatoes were cold and the omelet was dry. I didn’t see my server for about another 15 minutes. I asked the hostess for my check. I took maybe two bites from the omelet and a little bit of the potatoes. Not once was I asked about my or the service. As I went to pay my check a couple at the table next to me offered to pay for my food because they witnessed the poor service and the fact that I didn’t eat my food. Fortunate for them they had a different server. The difference between Monday and Thursday was amazing. I noticed that the staff Thursday was completely different from the staff Monday. If I return to the Greenville area I don’t think I will be eating at Eggs Up Grill on Augusta!

I’m surprised a place like this has such high reviews. I felt the food was tasteless. Usually with a place like this, there is quantity over quality. Sadly, that’s not the case here. I had an egg sandwich, grits, and coffee. The bread tasted like store bought white loaf even though it was sold as sourdough. The bacon was nearly tasteless and chewy. The grits tasted like water. The coffee was typical for a breakfast house. Honestly for the price, you’ll get a better meal at Waffle House and I typically don’t like going to Waffle House either. The host was odd and a bit rude, but at least our server did a good job.

The worst waitress in the world served us. She was very rude and inpatient. From the beginning you could tell she did not want to help us I really believe she was raciest because she didnt treat anyone else the way she treated us. Then she messed up the food order. We asked for eggs Sunny side up but well done on the outside but runny in the inside. She brought the eggs burnt with no runny yoke. So we asked her if they could do the eggs over and she started arguing with us and telling us that is what you asked for and was upset. So we asked to speak with her Mgr and she just walked away. We had to get another waitress to help us and get the Mgr for us. The Mgr apologized for the inconvenient behavior of the waitress and said that breakfast was on the house for us and gave us a way better waitress. Well we made sure to tip our new waitress $25 for being so kind and helping us out with the situation. The food was good overall.
