This is always a good shopping experience. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. And its always fun to run into friends who also live in the area. If I were to offer some advice, I would request that this store carry prime beef. This is something market basket offers.

BE CAREFUL GOING HERE AT NIGHT. All the parking lot lights in front of the store are off. Parking lot is pitch black. Someone almost hit my kid, not their fault it’s so dark. I’ve complained and the staff don’t care at all.BE CAREFUL

Just picked up my curbside. One egg cracked. Whatever. Meat not in a plastic bag in the same paper bag with in my veggies, also not in a bag, and with my deli meats. Its all covered in raw ground beef juices.When the kid put the stuff in the trunk, he put a ton of heavy stuff on top of the gallon of milk spilling milk everywhere. Now I need to hose out the trunk.Edit: Im glad they responded to me on Google maps before they responded to my inquiry on the website.

Today, one week before Easter, shopping at North Reading Stop and Shop was such a pleasure. The produce was abundant and lovely with many beautiful fruits and vegetables on sale. The many Easter meats were wonderful and very well priced with lots of bargains! I am so grateful for such a good store so close to my home! Thank you to all the staff!

Everything is very clean and for the majority fresh. I have found past dated freshness dates here and there. There are good prices and also too high prices. I was going to buy an Easter balloon, but they were $5.00 for a simple round mylar balloon! Ill stick with the Dollar Tree for the same kind of balloon for $1.00. Even other supermarkets like Market Basket they are $2.99. At that price most of the Easter balloons will not be bought and they will end up throwing them out and not making any money on them. They were already starting to deflate too and it was still 4 days before Easter.

Clean store and well organized.The grocery pick-up is amazing and super convenient, not to mention the ease of placing my order online..The fellow that I had for my grocery pickup was super friendly. He loaded my groceries in my car smartly and took care to not mess up any bags.

Dont understand all the positive reviews. We shop here only when we have to, for short emergency trips, to avoid the 20 minute trip to the Market Basket in Wilmington. I just visited this S&S on a Saturday at 1150am and 5 of the 13 registers were closed. Lunchtime on a weekend is peak shopping, all registers should be open, with baggers. Each register had lines, saw almost no baggers. Customers in the self checkout lines bagging their own items. Not 3 or 4 items, try 20 to 30 items. Long lines and waits. Parking here is always a headache. While there are technically 2 entrances, there is really one way way in and out at the traffic light and it requires everyone to drive by the front fire lane to exit, which is heavily trafficked with shoppers entering and exiting the store. Many of the items are routinely out of stock, and not due to the pandemic. Weve lived here for 5 years and low stock was routine before covid. I really wish there was competition around this area but there isnt, and that may be what is holding this store back.

Out of every 5 packages of meat purchased 3 are spoiled, $10+ for 4 hamburger patties all spoiled steer clear of marinated meats like steak tips (marinated to cover the brown color always spoiled ) they leave meat on a metal trolley thing for hours, unrefrigerated . Older Lady at customer service with glasses always accusing everyone of stealing . Last night I saw a chicken on a random shelf for like a hour (that I know of ) and they put it back for sale. If meats are left out of refrigerator for hours don’t put it back for sale that’s rancid. I wish market basket would extend their hours

They had chocolate teddy grahams when no one else did. The robot is creepy though and Im not very comfortable with that being a thing.

My local food store, always stocked up to the brim . I quickly became a regular after meeting the managers on the front end here. Then I met the stock guys and lot guys and they are great. The hiring manager blows people off and the GM ignores you and the deli gets a bit creepy for my wife, But I love the other people so much they still get 5 stars.

Call me old-fashioned, but customer service with a smile and professional energy gives this store in north reading, ma. High scores. The young guy working near seafood should be on a management track. Just ask who helped me find seafood salad and precooked bacon.

Reliable stock, great parking, clean and Ive never seen any issued with the staff.I havent sampled a lot of their brand in store products, like the bakery, but those Ive had have been good.

The manager of this store should go look around at other grocery stores in the area and see what they look like...fully stocked...I get it its a pandemic but people havent been panic shopping for weeks and this store still hasnt been restocked literally at all and its sad because its the only grocery store in town the prices are way too high stop and shop hasnt really put anything on sale and I feel like they only stock stop and shop brand product mostly I would rather drive out of town and use a different store or market basket the pasta and rice aisles been wiped out since March the only good thing about the store was its convenience but whats convenience when you cant get what you need

Close, convenient. Solid grocery store without the frills - not too much as far as international foods/ingredients though, FYI - def more basics. Quality food and *great* butcher and seafood section.

Used curbside pickup was very pleased with the service didnt have to wait received all of my food I ordered on line with this service most certainly will use this curbside pickup again! Thank You for a pleasant experience.

It’s an above average Stop & Shop. It’s clean, the people are friendly, and the prices are good. The only problem is that at night they are heavily understaffed, so if you have any problem, then it will take them quite a while. Other than that, it’s nearly perfect, just wish they hired more night shift workers.

They have done a great job with managing the social distancing! Very organized and I felt as safe as possible!

Nice clean Stop & Shop. Prices are higher that others in the area. Produce quality is limited and could have higher quality. The parking lot is large and you often find parking spots relatively close to one of the 2 entrances.

This stop n shop has no customer service. My wife stoped up there to get a baby water and formula and forgot her debit card.. she wrote a check and they asked for a id.. she told the young lady that she had her passport and was told thats not a form of id she was able to take??? By law this is a form of id.. so my 10 month old went without until I was able to get home..A week later she went up get buy a few things and at the customer service department asked for 10$ worth of quarters and was told that they dont offer quarters that they are not a bank.. wow.. this place with high school kids needs to be thought better.. there piers are lacking and need to train! Or better yet does management need the training also??

No Verizon signal anywhere in the store so one cannot use Googlepay, cannot call an Uber or Lyft while checking out, cannot call to locate spouse . . . Good stuff available but they need to get Verizon signal in . .

The produce here especially things like strawberries are never very fresh looking. Either overly ripe sometimes with mold or mostly green. Bananas dont ripen properly off the vine.They never had any prime NY strip steak. They only prime they do have are lower quality cuts of meets. They stopped carrying Tombstone frozen pizza replacing it with some off brand thats no where close in taste or quality. The food chain is slowly going down hill from whar I can tell. The only reason and I mean ONLY REASON I use it is because is its close I home.

Recently visited this store upon request of my colleges and I must say it was the worse experience I’ve had in a supermarket. The front where the cashiers work is a complete mess, the bakery department seems to not have any workers I always have to stand around waiting for someone to be paged. I ordered a platter from their deli and when I went to pick it up it wasn’t ready, I was waiting there to speak to someone from the department and there was a man washing his hands taking his time like no one was waiting to be served. The one thing I can say is they did lower the price on the platter which I was thankful for. Their selection on fruits was very limited and seemed to be old, this will be the last visit to that stop and shop.

Amazing customer service!I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the help of your employees on December 5, 2018. I was in the store, close to the deli area when my back went into a severe spasm. I was doubled over in pain and could only drag one foot in front of the other. Several very kind employees asked if they could help me but I kept saying no thank you. Another, whom I had asked where the KerryGold butter was offered to go get it for me and brought it back with the cream I needed. I turned down several other kind offers for help, stubbornly wanting to walk it off! Ha! I realized about 20 minutes later, that I was not going to be able to walk it off as much as I wanted to and was going to need help.Long story short, the Deli guys, Anna, Alex and a few others, even the manager on duty (with the wrist sprain), came to help me. Alex and Anna brought the electric cart for me to sit in. One employee, brought me some water, which was so thoughtful. Anna stayed and was so gracious and kind. She helped me shop for the rest of my groceries. I started to wonder how I was going to get the groceries to my apartment, in my condition! So, Anna and I talked about it and decided that if we could get them into the trunk of the Uber that maybe the driver would be willing to take them in for me. Anna helped me check out with Dom, the Cashier. Both women were so kind and went above and beyond. I ordered an Uber but there was some trouble with the Uber server and the driver went to the wrong location. Dom stayed with me to make sure that I was alright and to help me get my packages in the car when the driver arrived. I ended up ordering a new driver and he arrived shortly after. Anna and Alex were there to help me and talked to the driver to let him know and ask him to help me carry my groceries in for me, which was so kind.Im giving you all this detail because every single person who helped me, whether it was just to check on me or stay and help me...well, Im overwhelmed by the amazing kindness and thoughtfulness of these people. They are amazing. I wish that I could do more than simply write a thank you letter expressing my heart-felt gratitude. Youll never know how much their kindness meant to me. Im truly humbled and deeply grateful.

My family has lived in North Reading for 25 years. We frequent all the local establishments, restaurants, etc. Never again, never again this store. We should have learned years ago when Shaws left and they jacked up prices. I recall buying a package of Pearl Country Club Hot Dogs, which were $9 on July 3rd and $13 July 4th. Every week they fail to accurately discount promotional products while checking out. The last was yesterday and today, failing to honor $8 in Rebates on $50 worth of probiotics. The manager was unconcerned and we had spent $400 yesterday! We werent asking for extra, just what was promised by the ad. Good luck S&S, great business practice you have there. Never again. We will never go again and we live 3 miles away. The trip will actually be worth it.

I dont understand why every time I get to the cash register the bagger leaves the area. I have had to bag my groceries more times than I care to mention. With the prices you charge, there should always be a bagger ready to help.

1st. Deli, terrible service, young slim kid about 5 9 or 10 maybe 19 to early 20s, has back turn away and will not help nor answer you. Seems that as long as he does not see you he does not need to serve you. Pretends to be working on something else.2nd. Skirt chaser, in a bad way, my wife and daughter will no longer shop there during late afternoon, evenings nor weekends. Unfortunately, those are the only hours they can go. The manager apparently likes Latino and Asian women. If you alone and no one around he will harass you.Now, I only say this after long observation. From autumn of 2015 until about April this year, 2016. For about 7 months I experience the too often bad service from the same kid and one evening he is working in the fish department. He weighs the fish first (which is OK) but he slices off 3/8s to 5/16th of the fish while skinning the fish!!!The manager is clever, my wife walks in (I am a distance away but observing him) and she goes towards the frozen food aisle. The manager nonchalantly looks around, (no one around) and there he goes. I quickly go to the aisle and I hear him say, Hey doll! Hot shoes! Looking good! (she ignores him) but he persist until he realizes that I am there. He quickly changes (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) goes to his polite mode. Offers me a cookie, tells the baker to get me a cookie and then he makes his escape.My daughter (she is 17 and small) same experience.Over the same period I also notice that he would harass other women. Most of them young Latina girls. It seems that they were doing some kind of work there (but they were not wearing Stop n Shop work clothes) and had to put up with his harassment. They would just lower their heads and tried to keep going. Too bad! A few bad employees CAN spoil the whole basket!For a long time we would go out of our way to a different grocery store.The good news is the other stores are better priced. Too bad for Stop n Shop.

High prices, poor quality produce, and a limited selection. The parking lot is hard to exit, as they force you to drive right in front of the store to get out where you have to wait for people to slowly cross with their shopping carts. Checkout is usually pretty fast if youre just getting a few items since they have self-checkout lanes.

Desperately in need of a major update. Feels dated & a little disorganized. I still remember when this place opened as Star Market and its kind of sad to see it now. Actually, its even sad compared to the last days of when it was Atlantic before that.

For these prices youd expect better produce. Also be sure to check the date on the milk since its often near expiration.

Im highly disappointed . Their meat dept has gone down hill.3 times I bought meat that was out dated. (I know, shame on me)You think I would have learned to look at the expiration date afterthe second time. Beware, bad meat !

Service is always fast and the prices are great, especially when what you are buying is on sale. They tend to offer more frequent sales than their competition for the products I buy.
