Absolutely awful organizational skills, customer service, knowledgeable on materials and policies!!First issue was receiving unbelievably awful customer service while shopping and picking out decking. The sales person was less knowledgeable on decking than I was. Luckily my husband basically did his job for him and then went to place the order based off my husbands math, finding the product ordering details and handing over the information to the sales person. They then took our 9k and told us it should be delivered in June. It is now July, and we called to find out about our order only then to be told “hmm somehow this order was never placed.” BUT they had no problem cashing in the 9k already!!!I then am told that if they placed that order now, I wouldn’t get the product until September. Or I can come in and pick out another product with less of a wait time. Well, I then head there to get this straightened out only to pull in to a “closed for inventory“ sign!!!! I called to ask if I can just see a few color choices and was told no. They are closed for 5 hours and will be open tomorrow! Are you kidding me?!? You have poor customer service, forgot to place an order, took 9k and won’t correct the issue in a timely manner!!I have never been so angry with a small business!

We were looking at composite decking for a small landing and stairs. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He knew where all the samples were and the various colors and textures. All of the windows and all of the decks at my home originally came from Moynihan’s and so will the new ones!

Great lumber yard, good selection of doors and a kitchen design area.Hardware section is limited, but has most of the essentials.Staff are pleasant and helpful.

I’ve been coming to Moynihan Lumber since I was a kid, well over 20 years now, being involved with family business.It’s my go to for lumber, doors and specialty items.Front desk is always alert and informative.The guys upstairs that do estimating are more than responsive.Moynihan Lumber always meets and/or exceeds my expectations whether it be a small purchase or a large special order.I’d like to say personally I am especially thankful for Mark Spicer at the front desk. His knowledge on products and ETA’s on orders is what every customer and contractor looks for. He gets the job done. He’s my first go to for anything over there. I bought a Storm door here several months ago and paid $350 for it. I assumed that included the installation since an additional charge for installation was never brought up. It took two months and several calls to finally get my door installed. I got a call today from them saying I had an open balance of $225 for the storm door. I explained I had paid $350 and no one had ever mentioned that there was an additional charge for installation, which I would have paid immediately. I called Moynihan and the person I spoke said that was for installation and installation aint free!! Avoid Moynihan Lumber like the plague! Piss poor customer service and flat out lying. Will never go there again!

Have been using them for 30 years. Prices are competitive but the quality of their lumber is superior.countermen are pros who are knowledgeable and helphul. Extensive inventory. Good people to do business with

SAW A REVIEW THAT TOOK ISSUE WITH THE STAFF - AT FIRST SURPRISED BUT THEN REVIEWED MY EXPERIENCES OVER THE YEARS - SOMETIMES STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL, BUT CLEARLY CAN RECALL MANY TIMES WHEN I WOULD BE ALLLOWED TO WANDER AROUND AND WOULD ONLY GET HELP IF SEEK IT OUT -- AND EVEN THEN IT COULD BE DIFFICULT.APPEARS TO BE MORE OF A BUSINESS FOR LOCAL CONTRACTORS.ON THEIR SIDE, THEY DO SOMETIMES CARRY ITEMS NOT FOUND AT OTHER STORES...AND CAN STILL BE BETTER ALTERNATIVE THAN THE BIG BOXES (HOME DEPOT AND LOWES) BUT DO NOT EXPECT THOSE PRICES MOST OF THE TIME.

The beverly location is horrible. I called at 3:56PM on a friday and the woman kept telling me they are closed due to inventory, when i know they are open until 5pm. I then called the reading location and got service no problem.

Bit of a hassle grabbing wood from the back but the check out guys are great and theres people to help
