Ive always had great transaction experiences there....The only reason I go to North Hampton, Mass, is to go to Birdhouse Music. I live in New York State...its worth the trip....!

The luthier at Birdhouse did a nice setup on my Godin archtop. Good work, quick turnaround, price was what they quoted. Staff at the desk were easy to work with and helpful. Already loved the guitar -- now it plays like silk.

They dont have much for accessories but they have an awesome selection of used equipment. You can find some great gems very cheap, I got a violin in 2016 and a guitar in 2017 and Ive been very pleased.

Very kind and helpful staff. I bought an acoustic guitar from here a few months back that I love. Much more pleasant to deal with than some of the other music stores in the area. I will go here first in the future when searching for something simply based on the great cusomer service and friendly atmosphere.

Birdhouse is great. Ive been going there for pretty much anything and everything I need musically since Glenn opened the place several years back. Their selection of instruments (including killer custom-made guitars) and musical accessories has grown considerably over the years. Whether its a set-up for a guitar or mandolin or a great deal on a custom-ordered instrument, theyre always there to help me out.

Pretty nice selection. The reason for 2 stars is that I was the only person in the store, with two employees working. Neither of them acknowledged me or offered assistance. The person at the front desk didnt even look up once from his laptop. After browsing and playing a couple guitars right in front of him, it was enough to make me leave and not buy anything. Would not recommend if youre looking for a good customer experience. If you dont care, the selection is decent and fair prices.

Great guitars and very friendly staff. They have a great showroom now in this new location and its a pleasure to try out equipment with no pressure. I bought a Taylor acoustic and they were great every step of the process. I will be going here for everything I can!

When they were above Jakes, they had an interesting selection of used mandolins. Since moving to the new location, they seem to have dropped them.

Refreshing to have an alternative to the other store in town or a big box.The ambiance is interesting and it is very clean.

These guys are great - excellent work on repairs, at a fair price, and Ive always been treated well when Ive bought or sold here. So glad we have Birdhouse in Northampton! Update 3/29/2018: The person doing the repair work for me is no longer at Birdhouse, but I have no reason to think there has been any change in quality or price.

I brought these guys a fancy guitar to sell for me. — — After about a year I contacted them and they said it had sold and they owed me $1000. They NEVER contacted me by mail, email or phone and I suspect had no such intention until I contacted them. They sent me a check but refuse to tell me when it sold. They wait for consignors to forget or move or die so they can keep the money. Inexcusable and grotesque dishonesty. Don’t be fooled by the hippie style and groovy atmosphere. These guys are thieves.

Friendly staff. Small selection of mostly low to mid grade guitars. Good selection of used amps. Small selection of fairly priced used pedals.

I was one of the first people to visit the old store near the Calvin when they were just starting out. They have evolved into a musical force to be reckoned with and feature many more well know brand used guitars than before. Since they just moved, I expect they will progress in leaps and bounds,now that they have more space. I had several of my guitars serviced there in excellent fashion and at very treasonable prices. These guys are building incredible electric guitars at incredible prices. If you havent been there lately, Go! They are now on the corner of the Main Street on the corner after Thornes Market.

Be sure to check on line prices prior to going to the store. Staff at the store charged me $100 more for a guitar than it was priced on line. Have your phone ready with the on line info when you go in. Staff originally tried to charge over $200 more than the on line price!
