I took my truck to San Rafael Toyota service when my 2021 Tacoma had a strange grinding noise at 30,000 miles. San Rafael Toyota didn’t even wanna deal with it, and lied that they couldn’t hear the super obvious grinding noise. I told him I didn’t wanna drive the truck until it got looked at, and they couldn’t get me in for an appointment until three days later. So then I took it straight to Novato ToyotaJason at Novato Toyota Took it in on the same day, and within a few hours properly diagnosed that it was simply a thin heat shield knocking the driveshaft And the problem was completely resolved and at no charge under warranty.The next time I need to get my Toyota worked on I’m just going to take it to Novato and not to any other dealer. I will also consider using Novato Toyota instead of San Rafael for my future purchasing needs due to their strong after sales service.

Drove half an hour to Novato Toyota after texting a salesman about a Tacoma. I arrived, but the salesman I was there to meet was not available. Ok, not such a big deal, but sort of disappointing.I explained to the salesman that was there I knew exactly what I wanted and didnt want on the truck, and it was just a matter of finding the best deal and the friendliest dealership. I had already visited four other dealerships in the area.There was a truck on their lot I was interested in, but they had a $5000 dealer mark-up on it and all other new vehicles. I told the salesman give me zero mark-up and you have a deal, and he seemed to get irritated by that. Why? They of all people should know dealer mark-ups are a scam, no matter the circumstances. Do grocery stores mark up water bottles when theres a drought or wildfire because of shortages? No. Its unethical.The salesman then had the arrogance to ask me if youve visited all those other dealers then why havent you bought a truck? I said Im simply weighing all options. He didnt seem to get it.Never going to set foot on this dealers property again. I drove back to Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa and bought the exact truck I wanted with no mark-up and no BS fees. They even gave me a discount below MSRP.Edit after owner response:Well, both the salesman and the sticker on the window stated a $4999 (or close to that) mark-up. I understand difficulties of this shortage, and I understand marking up to maintain inventory. However, what boggles my mind is that your salesman was absolutely not willing to negotiate the mark-up away to make a sale. I was prepared to drive the truck home that day if I was offered a deal without mark-up. Shafting customers is not a good solution to inventory management.

My car was serviced while I took a walk and then sat on an outdoor bench, feeling grateful for the view and the nice weather. The service was first rate, as usual. The waiting room is available and the place was uncrowded, but I appreciated the availability of outdoor seating. They recommend making an appointment on line or by phone.

Im not usually one to write reviews, but Novato Toyota definitely deserves one. I purchased a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid recently and absolutely love it! We like to support local dealerships, and recently moved to Novato so we figured we would give Novato Toyota a try.We were greeted by Hugh, and at first he seemed nice. Then as we talked about finances(prior to even going for a test drive) he treated us as if we didnt know what we were talking about. Using cliche statements like, Trust me, Ive been in the business for 25 years and That color will always cost more. It was clear we wouldnt be buying form him. So we took our business to Petaluma, and were treated much better and made comfortable. We have been taking our car to the service department and have been pleasantly surprised till our most recent visit. Took it in to have work done on the mirrors and now the doors are a bit off and there is more road noise than before. They also failed to wash the car, and there is epoxy on the door. Unfortunate to say the least. We will continue to support other dealerships for our next car purchase.

Called 5 minutes before closing, and scheduled to drive the car at 9:00 am the next day. The vehicle was ready when we arrived. Michael Murphy the sales associate was no pressure and very professional. April Rodriguez, in finance had us in and out it 15 minutes. Great experience.

I am seriously in the market for a SUV. Met with what I thought was a nice gent in sales upon first meeting. The result was a complete waste of time. Upon the third strike of wasting my time, I asked for the sales manager. Yet another complete waste of time. My communications were taken completely out of context and reinforced by said Sales Manager (Tony I believe his name was). I am taking my business elsewhere. It was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered by a sales organization. If you are looking to waste your time, feel free to do anything with these guys, for surely, they will waste it. Which is unfortunate because basically time is the only commodity on planet earth. If your interested in the details, send me a note, Ill provide the details. Net net, DONT waste your time. These guys have no clue about sales or customer service. Punt!

Came to make a serious offer on a certified highlander with Jim Reilly. Was greatly disappointed to find the car had a leftover cigarette wrapper in the glove box and coinciding smoking stains all across the upper interior.We made an offer at what we felt was fair given the condition and that the car has been on the lot for 277 days and has DLR plates ... We were immediately shot down and disregarded by the sales person (Jim). Ive never been more disappointed in a dealership experience in my adult life.We were ready to purchase on the spot.DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Liam and Richard were excellent shuttle drivers. Very courteous. Car was given a car wash before the keys were handed back to me .

This review is only for the service department.If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I finally found my forever service center. I will never need to go elsewhere.According to my service advisor, Ken, they are locally owned and run. Everyone seems to have worked there for years and knows their clientele well.Even during the uncertainty caused by COVID-19, Ken and the team of technicians were able to diagnose and fix my car. Master Technician Jimmy looked through the entire car and fixed it. Ken advised me of prices upfront, including work to be done, how to maintain myself. Their knowledge and skill show. Incredible communication, customer service and awesome work.Liam picked us up from our house as the car had to be towed in. I was able to get a loaner car to get to work. And they even washed my car afterwards.Hands down, best experience in a service center. Far exceed expectations, especially for a stressful situation. Highly recommended; especially vs Marin and SF Toyota.

Daughter took Corolla in for power train service after being diagnosed by former Toyota serviceman to need work. Dealership failed to heed daughters explanation of problem and half heartedly went about investigating problem. End result, car still has problems. Im upset with dealership as is daughter (car owner). Time to look for a better dealership and maybe a better car.

Novato Toyota/Toyota Extra Care get 5 stars from me! Toyota Extended Care honored my warranty with just a phone call/claim on the last day of my warranty. Ken Brog of Novato Toyota was friendly and followed through on the warranty claim. I was given a courtesy car while my car was being fixed and the cost was minimal. I am so pleased with the treatment I have received over the 7 years I have owned my car. Thank you Thank you for being a courteous company and having employees that are so pleasant to work with!

The only place I take my ToyotaI didnt buy my car here, but I should have.I started coming here when the other dealer was spending 3 or 4 hours changing my oil on a factory paid service, WITH an appointmenr.I work during the week, so Saturday is service day. Normally with an appointment, I am in and out in a out 90 minutes, their time estimates are good, and prices are reasonable.

Whenever something goes wrong with my car I bring it in under warranty. They keep claiming another machanic did not repair my car properly and that is why something went wrong. The thing is they are the only ones that have worked on it and I bought it from them. They then proceed to charge me for the repair.

Beware and make sure they dont run your credit especially if you already have a pre-approved loan. They will call up your sink upsell the car 4 more than its worth.Very shady place they never told me they were running my credit only to come to find out they ran it three times with three different banks. Im very disappointed in this place. Im a new car buyer and I had no idea what was going on until after the fact. Good thing I didnt buy a car with them I later learn I was not getting a good deal they were charging me $4,000 over the listed window price.

5 starts for consistent excellent service from all the folks in Parts. ZERO starts for horrible service when trying to return a lease in their used car dept. WARNING: You will be scolded then hung up on if you do not know that what Toyota Financial Services tells you about returning a lease may differ at the dealership level procedurally. Shame on me for not auditing lease return instructions given to me by Toyota Financial Services which turned out to be totally NOT applicable at my local Toyota dealer. Bad bad me for not realizing these are separately managed entities even though both are Toyota...bad bad customer!!!

These people cant find the keys to the cars on their own lot! This happened to me TWICE in the last couple of days! And they were two different cars. Unbelievable! Plus, their inventory seems to be very small and equipped with only high end packages at least for the models I was interested in. Salesman was quite vague when I asked questions and more interested in moving out the cars they had on the lot rather than in helping me find the right car for me. Beware! Know your stuff. Quite disappointing. 😞

My first time here, waiting area was clean with snacks and I did not have to wait in line for my appointment! My service was complete in 45 minutes! A much better experience here then my previous ones in Petaluma and Santa Rosa Toyota dealerships. And thanks for washing my truck!

Awful experience. Linda did not want to sell a car to us. She saw that we were young and in the military, and thought that we didn’t have the funds to purchase a vehicle. She only let us test drive a used vehicle, and every time we showed interest in the brand new Tundra or Tacoma, she stated it was not in our price range. How does she know how much money we have? She said she would call us when something came in that was in our price range, like I said, she assumed our price range. She never called or followed through, and I’m glad she didn’t. So we bought a brand new vehicle elsewhere.

Went to get my oil and filter changed and first of all, the coupon I had for synthetic oil, $54.95 would not work cause apparently, my car is special and it would cost $80.00 for synthetic so I decided on just regular ole oil. 45 mins into my wait, someone comes and tells me my water pump is leaking badly and that will cost $417.00 to replace, but the weird thing is, I park my car inside a garage and the floor is bone dry, no drops or leaks of anything and when driving my temperature light has never come on indicating a problem and the air conditioner which would also be affected works great, gets cold in seconds. What Im saying here if you cant figure it out already, dont get your car serviced here, try to find an actual real honest mechanic far far away from this place! They are worthless rat fink scamming bastards to be nice!!!!!

On the surface these guys seem great, but I would suggest not buying a USED car from them. New cars maybe fine. Within the first week we had to take our car in for a skwealing sound coming from under the hood that was not covered under warranty($300). They paid for ($150), we paid for the rental car. Now, six months later, we have to take the car in for a new stearing column! Its covered under warranty, but we may have to pay for the rental car, yet to find out.

Drove over an hour to purchase a used vehicle, once there and seeing the vehicle in person I was very disappointed. The vehicle was in very poor condition, knowing the vehicle was used I wasnt expecting a new car but for the very high price tag they had on the vehicle I wasnt expecting fading paint, cracked and broken weather stripping, damaged interior and mismatch tires. Although they said they were willing to fix some of the issues the poor attitude of the sales person, their low ball trade in pricing and unwillingness to budge on their pricing they just handed us back our keys and said no deal. We went to Hansel in Petaluma and got great service, purchased the same make vehicle with less miles in emaculate condition, more options for thousands less and a great trade in price on our car.
