Definitely never enough staff, even before covid. Has mostly everything for crafting. Coupons always helpful, and staff is very friendly!

I am working to alleviate the nerves of our Frontline teachers by beautifying their lounge and restroom. I went to Joannes for fabric for bulletin boards and to sew a buffet pad. I wanted cheerful, uplifting colors. I had to go up and downstairs a couple of times to get everything I needed but that was my fault. The staff was extremely helpful especially the young lady helping me pick out my fabrics very patiently and kindly holding the fabric rolls as I debated which colours to choose. My husband even got to come in because Joanns is pet friendly and our dog was so well behaved, they had fun in the store to.So what do you think?

Didnt have to wait to get my stuff cut. Carla assoc was very very pleasant, I would differently come back.

If it is at all possible, please avoid the salesperson Jessica. She has a terrible disposition and does not desire to help customers at the Novi, MI location. My experience with Jessica left a bad taste in my mouth. She refused to help me locate a silk, and satin, roll of fabric; any pattern or solid. My impression of Jessica was that she doesn’t love her job, that she’s extremely condescending, and that she doesn’t want to help customers on the floor. Well, she doesn’t have to worry about me ever shopping at that store again. She single handedly ruined my shopping experience at JoAnn Fabrics!!!

Wonderful experience! Got everything I needed for tie dye project. More important found mostly everything for a leather/woodburing project. Could not find small pieces of leather though. They had a lot more than Michaels! Still could not find a book on woodburning projects.

This is a great place to go if you want to wait in line for 90 minutes to buy $10 of overpriced craft supplies. When they file for bankruptcy it’ll be because they didn’t have enough cashiers on staff. Amazon is better.

My daughter and I spent quite a bit of time shopping for cloth, patterns and materials to make several skirts and dresses! We were there on Friday, Jan 22nd, 21. The store staff were very helpful in our quest! We were able to get most items although the invisible zippers were in short supply for 7-9. The cashier was very helpful in getting the best transactions and discounts for our money! We will definitely go back!

They might be a little short staffed. Be patient, everyone there is exceedingly helpful and kind.

Ll your crafting needs and then some

The staff was very helpful to find items for school project. Able to find everything required. Spent time looking around at other interesting items not on our list, including different signs with cute sayings on them. They having many garden accessories as well, like nice metal windmills.,

It is too easy to get lost here and spend way too much money! I get so many ideas for crafts I want to do and dont balance some with the amount of time I actually have! I found everything that I needed today and at a very good price.

This is the best Joanns Ive ever been to! Not only is the store huge but everyone that works here is wonderful, especially Annie! She is the sweetest lady, anytime Im here she makes my day! I would go out of my way just to come to this store, not just for the items but for the people that work here because it makes such a difference. Ive also never had a single issue at this location and the coupons are always great!

Donna in framing has been amazing. I’ve used her several times for matting and she not only helps me but has great ideas on colors and gets the size just right. She calls me when my order is in and it’s when she told me to expect it. Thanks for hiring someone as conscientious as Donna !!!

The person that cut our material was wonderful and very helpful. The cashier decided to tell us she wouldnt wear a mask if the store didnt make her and how Jesus would save her from the virus... Glad she is happy and has religious beliefs but really dont need to feel like it is being pushed on us (made my husband uncomfortable). She also wouldnt let me use a 15 dollar off my 75dollar or more purchase (said I could only use the 10 dollar off). The sub total on the receipt was 77.00. Will not be returning to this JoAnn location.

Very unimpressed with employee competency and energy level. Both my mom and I separately had terrible experiences. During this pandemic, you would think that they would have the pick up feature a little more organized.... instead they said it would take 24 hours to process. That doesn’t make sense to me.I am a frequent customer to Joanns but tonights experience at a different location was not a good one.

Listen, I absolutely understand ‘it’s annoying’ that we walk into the store for our pickup order. However, checking to ensure my fabric I ordered was correct before potentially contaminating it without touching a single thing in the store with a 6’ distance.First Lady at customer service avoided me and opened a register. 2nd lady was irritated that I even came up to the customer service desk and said, “it’s going to be awhile clearly, why can’t you wait until the email comes?” She proceeded to roll her eyes at me and walk away. Maybe because I’m an ER Nurse and work the next 6 days and trying to keep you safe..Calm down retired Karen.. at least I know how to say PLEASE and THANK YOU for your time. She ignored me when I thanked her.I could have walked in and touched a bunch of Items and received better service while “potentially exposing” people. Chill out Joanns.

The instructor is absolutely fabulous anyone can make a scarf starting at 5 years old and up no needles required so sign up today to make your beautiful winter wonderland scarf. I will be taking a sweater class next no needles required, and after that a blanket making class, no needles required there either and I love buying my fabric that its always been one of my best places to shop at have a happy good day bye bye for now

What do I, a guy know about rating JOANN fabrics, but my wife loves this place. Whenever were looking for some fabric or home decor item, were always able to find it. The staff will bend over backwards to take you to the item(s) you are looking for. Very reasonable prices.

This is the biggest Joanns around here, its 2 stories, with rows & rows of fabric!! They also have tons of crafts, of course, and a huge selection of decorative items. Their seasonal decor is always unique & extensive. Everyone here is helpful & friendly, and very knowledgeable. If you need any crafts or fabric, Joanns is the place, & this one has the biggest selection.

*******UPDATED*****We were at Novi store tonight. The 2 employees we dealt with couldnt have been more helpful or nice. I mentioned trying to reach them by phone earlier today. Theyve been having problems with their phones. ATT trying to fix. Unfortunate for both them and customers because nothing tells the caller the phones are actually down. Im sure its been a frustrating day for employees!I could give NO stars I would. I gave up after waiting 15 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone! Their recording is so helpful letting you know that theyre busy helping other customers while offering you crafting tips. Heres a customer service tip: Answer your business phone! Ridiculous!

I dont have a notion about notions, but I recently started a couple of chair seating foam / fabric projects and JoAnns is my go to store. A very nice gentleman helped me pick the right padding then he downloaded an app on my phone to save 20% on my purcbase.

Its two stories tall, with fabric and sewing on the top floor, and crafts and season items on the main floor. It has stairs and elevators. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is good. Carts available.

I came in with 5 ladies.We were shopping for bridal shower n wedding things. The cashier DAWN was the worst one there working. she was in pleasant in calling customers down to her register. Then was so enpersonable to one of the ladies which happened to be the bride.Dawn doesnt need to be up front if she dont want to work with people.

I patronized this location for the first time ever. One of the young ladies on staff was very helpful in helping my niece find everything that she needed. We werent in the store long. The shopping experience was great except for one thing....The non black shoppers stared at my niece and I as if they had never seen our color before. Maybe it was the location. I dont know. Ladies we are human beings just like you are and bleed the same color blood as you. I consider myself color blind.

Im usually able to find what I need for crafting. They have amazing deals on fabrics and furs! Also a large selection of pearlers beads! Ive never seen so many aside from on amazon!

Staff is always Very friendly and helpful. Sometimes they could be more proactive in calling upon more cashiers when the line gets long but that is all I could ever say. Store clean well stocked and friendly.

On the first floor no customer Service associates to assist me with my needs. Couldnt find one person to ask for what I was looking for. And on the second floor the ladies (especially the African-American woman) want very nice. Only associates I saw were behind the counter cutting fabric no one to help the either so I left without spending any money. Doubt if I will go back to that location.

Store is clean, well-stocked and organized, but the majority of management and staff are not friendly. There are hardly any staff on the floor to help customers. When there is someone on the floor, they’re too “busy” to help or answer questions.My latest run-in, I politely asked the manager on duty, Nancy, about the price of a couple of items and she was very unfriendly, borderline rude. She was restocking shelves and didn’t even bother to look at me while answering my question. I left feeling very put off by that.Out of fairness, the staff on the second floor, Shaun and Bev, who cut our fabrics are always very nice and helpful. So is Sharon, the girl who rang me up during my last visit.How is the customer service declining so exponentially to the point that management is subpar?I would honestly give this place zero stars if it weren’t for the aforementioned good employees I encounter.

This is not my Preferred Choice if I need anything for crafting, Floral, or sewing. This store is what I resort to when I am in need of fabric. Their fabric is upstairs and you can either take physical stairs or an elevator. They have a wide selection of fabrics and rotate sales weekly. If you are an educator I recommend going to their customer service to sign up for the teachers discount.

Good store. Staff was good. I think there needs to be more variety though. Sometimes they have cool stuff and sometimes empty shelfs. Overall good.

Edit to my previous rating...JoAnns... I wont be shopping here for a while maybe until the pandemic is over/or they have more cashiers available. I was there today taking advantage of their 4 for $10 strung bead sale and there was only 1 cashier ringing. I stood in the wrong line and the cashier loudly says, the line is over there and pointed across the front end when I asked where the line started,(mind you 4 people walked over there by then) as she rings up a guy that was standing in the same line as me. I said, well Ive been standing here before they walked up, and she says well you can stay here, well do whats fair. I honestly wanted to walk out the store and not purchase anything! I walked over to where the other people were standing and the customer in front of me asked if I wanted to go in front of her, but I said no, and after she checked out she offered a digital coupon which was really nice.I may just return what I did buy tomorrow. The situation didnt sit well with me. I try to be understanding though since we are in a pandemic but I might as well go to Hobby Lobby.

I go to Joann at Novi because its the largest store nearby hence it has more variety of stuff. The only but a serious problem I face (3rd time today) is that the cashier rushes you at the register and kind of do not let you use all of your coupons. I have had very good experiences at Livonia, Canton and Rochester Hills locations. They are very patient and make sure that you have used all your coupons.

Store is nice...good product selection...staff is very reserved, they dont seem to pay any attention to you unless you say something to them first.

Very friendly staff. bought 20 sheets of paper on discount. the cashier had to apply the discount to each sheet, which if you have worked retail, is such a pain. however the cashier was super nice and positive about it.
