The food was delicious and fresh. The bagels are soft and not too chewy. The coffee is amazing and the large cup is the perfect size. We had a bacon egg and cheese, the sesame seed toasted bagel with walnut cream cheese and the french toast. The ambiance is perfect as well the service was very nice and friendly.

Some places have the nicest staff but they just can’t seem to get ordered right. This is that place. I just moved here 2 years ago and go here every week. The place is nice, people are kind but I don’t think they’ve ever gotten my order right once. Teenage kids behind counter seem constantly confused and untrained. I’ve seen other customers storm out furious at least a dozen times. If you want exactly what you order, go elsewhere. If you like surprises, I his is a fun place to eat!

Hip warehouse feel bagel spot with a diverse menu of breakfast food options including bagels, breakfast sandwiches and egg platters. The different variety of cream cheese options and toppings are impressive and gluten free bagels are a definite plus!

Great place to eat in or take out! I was around the area and it caught my attention that this place used to be a garage. The place was convert into a chick, soho Nyc style bagel deli a very good idea. The bagels are fresh and food as well. Plenty of parking in the back and indoor sitting available. If your in Nutley is a great place to have breakfast.

Whenever I go to bgl, its early before the breakfast crowd starts. Their food is fresh, tasty and prepared just as ordered. Customer service is good as well.

Absolutely BEST food!! Their bagels are delicious and don’t make you feel like you have a 10 lb rock in your stomach. The French toast is scrumptious and the sandwiches/wraps are so fresh and satisfying. Total comfort food!!

Over the last couple years, I have very much enjoyed the bagels and breakfast options here as an occasional patron. Unfortunately, my last experience tainted those memories indelibly. I hesitated to post this 1⭐ review (I previously rated BGL with 5 ⭐), but my hope is that this review will reinforce the importance of safe food handling procedures. Its altogether possible I misread the situation (and I apologize if I did), but I dont think I will ever be able to test that possibility out.

I never leave reviews because I’m not that person. But lately who ever is cooking and sending food out it’s unacceptable. I ordered the veggie wrap on bread. The bread was toasted BLACK so burnt on both sides. There was no hummus and no vinaigrette. It was falling apart. Not how the sandwich comes at all. Our order of French toast was also completely burnt and black on one side but they put that side face down so it looked fine until I opened it. Just super disappointed in the last few orders food should never go out like that. It takes a few more minutes to make new. I would never send our complete burnt and black food.

Well, very clean place. A very nice selection to choose from. Very pleasant folks working there. And best of all very tasty, I got a salt bagel with cream cheese and a decaf coffee. The bagel was fresh and coffee tasty. I do recommend.

This place makes you think it should be in California with the wood and the big windows. Love that you have Deep River potato chips. Enjoyed my everything bagel with hummus for breakfast the other day.

Stopped at BGL this morning. This was my first visit. Ordered a breakfast everything bagel with eggs, bacon and cheddar cheese to go. It was delicious !!! The bagel was perfect !!!The place was spotless. The menu was up on the wall behind the counter. It was easy to read and offered a wide variety. Ill definitely visit BGL again.( I forgot to take a picture of my purchase when I got home 🙃 )

This is a solid breakfast place. I like coming here when Im in the area, the food is well made and reasonably priced. I usually get a simple order, two eggs and cheddar on an everything bagel and a coffee. You cant go wrong with a place that does the basics well.

Love the bagels. LittleBit pricey. The only complain I have is the lids on top of the coffee cups are so loose and flimsy I always end up dropping coffee on me or in my car

The slowest of the slowest work behavior this place needs some management it took me 30 minutes waiting around to get a simple omelette and a large coffee four servers working the counter walking on top of each other and nothing was getting done people just waiting around for their orders even the door dash guy was waiting for his order 10 minutes and then they forgot a bagel another 10 minutes to get a bagel into a bag you have to be kidding me first and last

BGL is another example that you CAN spruce up a typical bagel shop to make the environment welcoming and fun. You have all the inner workings here, Bagels, Omelets and Sandwiches. On the plus, you have waffles, french toast and salads. Also, they have a good variety of spreads. The service is great, Fast and friendly. You wont be disappointed.

Solid food, be ready to wait a few minutes. The inside is extremely nice and unlike any other bagel shop.

These bagels are delicious and reasonably priced. This shop is in a great location and has a great atmosphere. I will definitely return.

Don’t put on your website or your business door that you’re open at 6am if your doors are still going to be locked by 6:20. It’s an inconvenience when you’re supposed to be open early obviously people have things do to. It’s a waste of a drive there for you to not be ready when you’re supposed to be.

Great cream cheese selection, you can buy them separately in plastic containers priced by weight. We bought Nutella & veggie, after a one night adventure and had a breakfast here both days. As a former bagel employee at different companies, they passed my Nova Lox expectations with flying colours.Picture is day 2, they serve right at the table. Definitely going back again, and recommend the back-to-back meals! Lots of variety, great morning staff

May 21, 2021This used to be a firehouse, such a cute set-up.The begal are slight batter than Dunkin Donuts.There idea of a cinnamon Raisin bagel is a plain bagel with maybe 2 raisins kind to tiny little pieces. Youre sesame bagels also leave a lot to be desire The butter and the cream cheese was just plopped on in slightly spread but not really so if you took a bite you get one bite of playing dry or a mouthful of either cream cheese or butter.It was very slow when I was there, Yet the service was slower.Not sure this might be the best bagel place in town but I think I would venture out to another town.So to the owners I think you need to venture out and sample some of your competitors bagels and I dont mean Dunkin donuts.If your starving I suppose you could stop in. Otherwise drive on.

Great place to grab and go. Called it in and was hot and ready when I arrived. Their Black Russians are delicious. My sandwich was very filling. Very clean there too. Id recommend folks to try this place out especially for a quick breakfast sandwich in the mornings.

Messed up our order for second time in a row. Our order CLEARLY stated what we needed despite excuses from owner/manager about differences in the delivery apps. Not our fault they can’t figure it out. Food not good enough to put up with people who aren’t polite whatsoever to customers and blame them for mishaps. Will not be ordering from them again.

This was my favorite bagel place when I lived in Nutley. They have a huge variety of cream cheese spreads, my favorite is Sriracha Maple Bacon. Their portions are hefty and everything from bagels to omelets to home fries to waffles is really tasty!

Service is usually pretty good here. The food is just ok. We gave this place a couple of chances but they just mess up the order and/or overcharge for the mess up. Would probably recommend them for a bagel and cream cheese, but their other breakfast sandwiches are a pass for me.

Went here twice. I came here for lunch on 9/17/19 and before I wrote a review I needed to go here for breakfast. Amazing food and very friendly people.. lunch I had there NY sandwich!! Fresh and delicious.best sandwich.. The only thing it’s a little expensive for a sandwich.comes with potato salad.. if I can make a suggestion they should include a soup or chips.. breakfast was the best.. got 2 eggs platter with sausage..comes with 2 hash browns and a bagel on the side..the atmosphere was trendy and cool. Clean and organize.. plenty of places to sit..

Stopped by for the first time today. Had what may have been the best bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel (complete with a delicious hash brown) that Ive ever had in my entire life. The bagel was wonderful. I will definitely be back to try some of the gourmet sandwiches on the huge menu!

Well this was my go to place until today. Walked in door and no one was on line. I Stood at counter for awhile as staff ignored me. Took the manager to whistle at the guy behind the counter for him to turn around. He was wearing head phones as well. He took one out of his ear and asked to take my order, and did not even greet me, almost like I was bothering him. I gave him my order and he missed it. So I said it again. He then went to start making it and came back to me to verify the type of bagel I wanted again. Then after making it. He asked me again what toppings I wanted. He said lettuce tomato and onion. So in digusted I just said yes. Then he finished and charged me. I noticed on my receipt that it had the sandwich and then 3 additional topping charges of .50 cents each. No where does it state toppings are additional. Especially basics ones such as lettuce, tomato and onion. So as I passed by the manager and asked him if this was correct he said yeah toppings. I was just thrown off by this as Ive never heard of paying this additional cost on top of a sandwich. Shouldnt that be built into price of sandwich if you really feel the need to charge for it? Again. I loved this place and previously had a 5 star review... Today was just to much for me to not say something...

Not really sure how you can get two out of three sandwiches wrong when youre literally handed a piece of paper with each order on it. Wont be coming back.

Wow! Was this bagel place awesome! We were passing by it on the way home and figured lets get a bagel, expecting the same old, same old. But, the bagels were not your usual bagel. They tasted so much better! We walked in & it was so clean and we were surprised to see a nice variety on the menu and a nice room to take your time, relax and have something to eat. Much more than just bagels, pleasantly surprised! A very nice brunch place! A little relaxing get away in the middle of the day.It doesnt stay open for dinner so get there for breakfast or lunch. The food is so delicious here that if it were open for dinner Id definitely come for dinner too!( eventhough its a breakfast & lunch brunch menu place. Hey, girls after you drop the kids off from school I think youll enjoy coming here! Im so glad we discovered this place!

Everything is excellent with a good vibe.Minus 2 stars for being behind the times on modern food choices. Not at all friendly to those with a dairy allergy, an intolerance, or vegan. No alternative cream cheese spreads, and takes some arm wrestling to convince them to make an almond milk cappuccino.

So glad theres finally a good bagel place in town! Delicious variety of spreads. I particularly like the strawberry/blueberry cream cheeses, as they have chunks of fresh fruit in them. Service is very good as well, and I like the historic/industrial atmosphere of the place. I will mention though, the coffee is not great.

There bagels are the best around and their chicken salad is excellent. A little bit of a wait, but always worth it!

Ok place. Small parking lot but never fills up. Clean bathroom. Industrial feel. Seating is not comfortable. Food is pricey but good. Good food & beverage selection. No alcohol. Closes early. 5pm i think during the week.

What a great place in Nutley. Such a hip modern place with great service and food. Love their lox spread!! And they have frappes! Such a shame for the person below to post a negative reviews solely on something completely out of this businesss control (construction). Absolutely silly. One of the best places in Nutley overall in my opinion.

BGL - A must go! They just opened this upscale deli and I love it! The location is prime and the food is so good. This is not just your typical deli. There are so many different sandwiches & spreads you could grab your breakfast, lunch and dinner all at once. The line was wrapped around the store and i know why! Cant wait to go back

This is the first time that I have edited a review but I felt it was necessary. Because I live so close to BGL, I really wanted to like it but after more than 6 not so great experiences, I just cannot continue to go here. For the past 3 visits, I have ordered a bagel with cream cheese to go and every time I have eaten the product, I have gotten sick. I am not sure if the cream cheese is not being kept properly refrigerated or it is beyond its time but I am done. This establishment is just off on so many levels. I was willing to overlook the less than stellar service (its like the staff works at one pace and provides barely a smile when doing it) but I am done.

Coffee was good. Atmosphere very nice. I like a softer bagel though!! Vegetable cream cheese was fresh.

Lovely gem in Nutley. Lovely aesthetic inside and out. The open garage door is major.Great food and coffee, and very caring owner and staff.Oh, and v important mention: THEY HAVE FRENCH TOAST BAGELS. Pretty ones, too.Used to live in this area, but still come here a few times a year.

I am always in and around this area...so I noticed when they first opened...but didnt try it - for whatever reason. Then about two weeks ago I when in for the first time. Immediately liked it. Liked everything about it. I have now been back 5 times - actually going slightly out of way to do so. It has a certain vibe... hip... cool... and I am nearly 60. Great food. Great coffee. Try the chicken salad with cranberries...
