I cannot recommend the eye center based on my experience with corrective surgery. I had complications with recovery and the surgeon had no idea how to resolve the complications. Even said to me “ what would you like me to do”. In days following another doctor realized the protective lens was to tight and the epithelial was not able to heal. After receiving a bigger protective lens I began to heal. This process was agonizing. The surgeon even sent me out with no protective lens and only gel on my eyes at one point. This washed away in minutes leaving me with the most pain I’ve experienced in my life. Since this surgery I’ve been dealing with intense discomfort. I’ve only started to feel better after stopping everything that the eye center recommended. I’m six months out now. Still treating my eye lids. Still dealing with discomfort. But getting better. I regret having this surgery and it has cost me a small fortune as I am self employed and for months struggled to even be able to drive. I also met a women that had a different procedure with the same surgeon and when she had complications he did not know how to resolve. That is far to coincidental to ignore.

I am thrilled with my surgery results! Dr. Baker did an amazing job! The staff were excellent. I have been a long time patient of Dr. Paul Tappan and am so thankful that recommend them!

My husband had hurt his eye and was sent there by our doctor and they really took great care of him .we had over an hour drive there and back, however it was well worth the drive .everyone was very friendly and polite and his Dr really cared and thats what matters the most . I love Eye Center of Oak Ridge. The entire staff is very professional. Ive been going there for 6 years and always get well taken care of. Their frame selection is the best Ive seen in 45 years of wearing glasses. Their staff is very knowledge too. Other places maybe a little cheaper, but when it comes to vision i want the best I can get.

Dr Combs was very thorough in diagnosing the somewhat involved problem. He reminded me that I was free to get a second opinion from another ophthalmologist, either in or outside of the group.The first glasses I picked out ended up being too small for my head and pinched terribly. After 5 adjustments, they offered a frame exchange and the only cost to me was the difference in frame price.Very satisfied with both Dr Combs and the eye glass shop. Thanks for the great experience getting my first pair of glasses!!

Dr Speckner,Did my cataract surgery, and I had excellent results. I had 2 previous Dr’s tell me that it could wait in spite of diminishing distance and night vision. I liked the fact that he listened to me, about my vision, and went ahead and did the surgery. I got the cheap lenses but still ended up with 20/20 vision.... I no longer need distance glasses. I can see great at night when I’m driving. It’s given me back eyesight I had the 20’s, although I do need reading glasses. He is very thorough, and calls you at home to check on you. Follow your aftercare program and you’ll do great!Jim Hammond

All doctors in this practice have excellent reputations. I have also brought all of my glasses in the optical shop. I highly recommend this group!

A Simple task like Threading a needle.. I am 6 days post op cataract and astigmatism surgery. I just threaded a needle with my bare eyes no glasses today. In 2 weeks I get my left eye done I cannot thank doctor Luttrell and his team enough for all they have done for me. I think Dr Luttrell and the team are top notch. Best of the Best. I was very impressed with how the staff were able to help my daughter (who has anxiety issues) feel at ease to get her eyes examined. Dr. Frasier and her assistant Melissa were all very patient and accommodating with her and so that she could get a thorough exam. This is hard to find in some medical settings and I was so relieved that they took the time to help her with her issues. My daughter even mentioned that she wished all doctors offices were so nice!

I was on a camping trip down in Myrtle beach when I felt something in my eye. We were planning on coming back the next day (last night). They were able to get me an appointment today at 1. The team was incredibly professional and talkative! As an airline pilot I take my vision very seriously. Dr Speckner was immediately able to determine the type of cyst I had on my eye and relieve the irritation that was associated. For years I have been going to vision works for my check up. I’ll be seeing The Eye Center of Oak Ridge in the future for my yearly exams.

Friendly staff and Dr. Frasier is the absolute best eye doctor that has treated my Mom in 83 years! Our whole family sees Dr. Frasier. We have to travel to Oak Ridge due to the Wartburg office nit having the eye testing equipment for tests that my Mom needs. A little discouraged today that the appointment was for 12:30 p.m. and even though the waiting area was empty, she wasnt called back until 12:54 p.m. stoll highly recommend Dr. Frasier.

I took my daughter for an annual last week. This was our first time at the Eye Center and it could not have been better. The tech was so kind and spent a long time making sure my daughter was comfortable and that her prescription would be correct. She chatted with her and even made her laugh - not easy with a teenager! Dr. Fraiser was awesome and spent extra time to make sure that we had all our questions answered - she was so friendly and fun! The appointment was right on time and we had very little waiting around. I could not recommend the eye center more!!

It was a great experience the doctor was friendly and very knowledgeable .

I had been using the eye center for years. I ordered a pair of glasses and the frame broke in 2 places. They reordered for me no problem, then Covid hit. They weren’t open for months and they sent my frames back because I “didn’t pick them up in a timely manner” I had to wait months because they were not seeing people but when I couldn’t get right there to pick up the frames THEY SENT THEM BACK! Now I have to pay $10 (which isn’t a big deal it just the principal) for them to ship them back! Very upset with them over this.

I was trying to get on the elevator to go to the another business above the eye clinic and they are not Using social distancing. They had 8 people crammed next to each other trying to do temp checks and people coming out the door and we were trying to get on the elevator They really need to put someone outside on the sidewalk monitoring and temp checking. It isn’t hot out it’s raining and the entrance has a covered drive up people are not 6 ft apart and it’s mostly senior citizens so shame on you for not taking better precautions is this horrible time.

My experience with the doctors and the staff exceeded my expectations, everyone was pleasant and professional.My strong misgiving was in the area of billing. I was quoted a price for my surgery and the cost for my cataract surgery with enhanced lenses. My understanding was they had checked on what my insurance would cover. As it turns out they were not even close to what I ended up paying out of pocket and the charges keep coming. The most infuriating was a separate bill from the anesthesiologist; how was this not calculated into the quote for the work.As trustworthy as they seem, take it from me, you cant trust their quotations for the costs of a procedure.

Kathy helped me choose some frames and I love them! She is very knowledgeable and made great suggestions.

They sold me glasses that did not fit. When I kept coming back once a week for adjustments they said they were to small. I was told that I needed another pair. They informed me that they could only find one that fits (and they put them on me personally) and it would be another $100.00. These glasses cost me over $500.00 and now I have to purchase another pair. I moved out of state and am getting the proper care and pricing that I deserve.

She takes the time I need to answer my questions and I never feel hurried. I just had cataract surgery and my doctor did the surgery which to me is a bonus. I highly recommend the Eye Center.

The Eye Center does not know how to treat patients and seems to exhibit a careless attitude when trying to address concerns. Not only are the patients concerns being dismissed, but I do not need to here about employees complaining about other patients while Im with the doctor. Ive had 2 appointments so far and they cannot get my prescription right so I can see to do daily functions like work, drive, or see a movie. I have went to another eye doctor and seen exceptional results so I cannot recommend the Eye Center as a credible business or care center for those seeking a quality eye doctor.

Ladies behind the desk were quite rude and talked to me like I was stupid because I had questions about my glasses prescription. Like its just common knowledge what certain values mean that were written down.

The doctors are excellent. They treat every eye problem. It takes forever there. Their glasses are very expensive.

MY EYE CARE WAS AWEFUL !!!! Dr.Lutrell was the doctor who did my cataract surgery. We decided on the Toric lens and proceeded, after the first eye surgery on my right eye, I started getting migraines in my eyes, my eye also poured water and matted shut in the mornings . He said this was dry eyes and allergies. ( did not get better after his prescriptions of dry eye drops and allergy meds .) next left eye, same process, pouring water and matted shut and now my vision is super blurry. Back to the doctor. Same thing dry eyes and allergies. 3 months later, sever blurred vision eyes are bloodshot and cant see at night . 5 months later, still cant see at night and I see 2 of everything and everyone its like wearing someone elses perscripion glasses thats a very strong prescription,my eyesight was so bad I considered to stop driving at night . Back to the Doctor. Same song and dance . Everyone kept telling me to get a second opinion . I FINALLY LISTENED. Thank God !!!!I got my appointment with Doctor Lowrance, he checked my vision and with a written account of my problems he diagnosed me . My Toric lens were not sitting on my eyes properly. With a lot of tears and relief I realized I wasnt going to have to spend the rest of my life in misery ! I had my surgery in both eyes in December of 2018 and I can see GREAT !!!. I ask Doctor Lutrell if I could get some of my money back, it had cost a lot of money out of pocket around 6,000 in 6 months that my husband and I have paid out or should I say still paying out . Im really disappointed in Doctor Lutrell l thought he was a better person that . ( He said the way the lens were sitting was not his fault ) but in our conversation after I had the first lens removed he said he knew I had a refraction and he could have fixed itMy Question to you Doctor Lutrell, WHY DIDNT YOU FIX It ? I guess not admitting you were wrong, is easier than doing the right thing .
