I started visiting Dr. Heron in May when I was 5 months into Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW). My face was the most affected and I had rashes that spread throughout my body that was caused by prolong use of steroids (off and on use throughout my entire life). I was at a point that I didn’t think anything could help me and I was pretty reluctant about seeking any other help because I was so discouraged from all the westernized doctors who told me I needed to be on stronger medicines. I wanted to take the more natural route so I went to Dr. Heron initially for acupuncture. I was comforted after meeting with Dr. Heron and how he was familiar with TSW and even had experience treating some of his patients. He was one of the only medical professionals that believed and validated TSW and what I was going through. He put me on herbs and I visited his office every 2-3 weeks for refills and acupuncture. It’s been 4 months and I feel like I’m 95% healed. I believe a combination of the acupuncture, herbs, time, and some environmental changes helped me get to where I am today. I can’t thank Dr. Heron enough for supporting me through this process and giving me hope when I had lost it!

David was wonderful for us. I went to him seeking help with fertility and truly believe he was the reason we are now expecting our first baby in 2 month’s time! He really listens to you and has a gentle practice that makes you feel at ease. The integration of traditional Chinese herbs was great too. I highly recommend him!

I had an unusual skin condition called Grovers disease. First I tried conventional medicine. This included various ointments. None of these applications worked in some made the condition worse. I then got a referral from my acupuncturist to Oakland hills acupuncture. David reviewed my condition at an in-person appointment. He then prescribed Chinese herbs. In about four months time the condition was resolved.

As my introduction to acupuncture, I was curious, skeptical. Dr Heron quickly removed any doubts I had. With a compassionate, gentle approach, he listened, explained, and took me through the process with the attention and focus every patient deserves.Twenty years ago, I experienced a life-changing ruptured disk in my lower back. I went from living an active, athletic life to one filled with pain, constant discomfort, and watching from the sidelines. But along with the physical pain, I suffered tremendous mental and emotional pain as well, losing my active lifestyle, but also jobs, friends, interests as I settled into an unhealthy, sedentary lifestyle. Treatments have ranged from rest, activity, drugs, cortisone shots, physical therapy, supports and braces, massage, pilates, yoga... each having some but always limited success.Acupuncture from Dr Heron has been the most helpful and healing. I have had so much relief of the pain but also have regained feeling in my lower leg and foot that I havent had in 20 years. And for the first time in two decades, I have some optimism that I will be able to once again participate and not just watch.

I am trying to control psoraisis without biologics because of unknown serious side effects. David completely cleared it up after a few months but warned that it would probably come back. It did. I hope he will be successful again. He is very caring and concerned about the whole person and I feel very comfortable with his recommendations and treatments.

He knows so much about herbs to help various skin conditions and recently helped me by sharing an herbal nose spray that has made my constant runny nose and post-nasal drip go away! David has worked wonders with my chronic back injury The Veterains Administration put me on strong pain meds which killed my kidneys. David has kept me pain free for over two years and without takig a single dose of pain meds thus allowing my kidney to function properly. He is very knowledgeble at his craft and a really niceperson as well..

I suffer from chronic pain and digestive issues. Dr. Heron did for me what the VA couldnt and that was get me on the right track to healing. He listens to what I am going through and gives me his true thought on what could be happening. Like I was suffering from Vitamin D deficiency and because of him I went and got tested and now I am on a regimen to get more in my system.
