Ive enjoyed every dish Ive tried. This week, I tried the beef fried rice and it was delicious. Of course, I had to have my favorite drink, iced lemon tea. Their milk tea is also good.
The person who said the food doesn’t have any taste must have had covid because this food is bomb af!
Good shop, good food and good people!Highly recommended!
Pork Chop and Rice is the best plate in town!
Best coffee in Chinatown
Very budget friendly, quite good, traditional Hong Kong style cafe
This place? No one wouldnt know what this place is in Oakland. This place is known as good milk tea, its taste may not be as close to as Hong Kong style, but it tastes better than any places that I have tried in the Bay Area. Well... the food and the service are decent. Although the performance of the cook is inconsistent at times, especially over cooked pork chop and it became chewy as beef jerky. It is still a decent to be in Chinatown.
This place is a good place to get a quick bit. I been to this place for over 20 years and this place never change. The people here is friendly after u got to know them. The food here is great and price is great too. This problem I have here and most of the business in Oakland Chinatown is the parking. Never can find a place to park and the public parking is a little too far for me.
I grew up eating here so maybe I am a bit bias. As a kid this was favorite Chinese cafe. We use to come here so often. As an adult, I now come very rarely. Not only did I move out of the area but also because I hate going to Chinatown. It is busy and just a pain. When I do come though, I would go to St. Anna and a few other selected shops. It is so nostalgic to me. Is the food really that good? Not really. Do they have good service? NOPE! But I still like coming here. One thing I can say is that their tomato sauce is very different from other places. It would be personal preference if you like it or not. Prices here has finally gone up. Few years ago it was still $5-6 a plate and still playing the same music they played in the late 90s!!! Talk about stagnant.......
My family and I have been coming here since 2005. And the food has been spot on all these years.Waitresses are nice, food is one if a kind. My favorite is the baked steak with spaghetti, along with the onion sauce pork chops over spaghetti. This is a one of a kind hidden gem in Oaklands Chinatown .
What a Surprise! Good food! Good service! Chicken wings(whole) & Spaghetti yummy!!
Always consistent. Hong Kong style cafe food thats cheap and leaves you filled up. We always order the baked pork chop with rice or spaghetti and baked minced beef macaroni with cheese. Their iced lemon tea is the bomb!
Beat family owed Cantonese coffee tea cafe.Good service. Simple menu. They have been there more than 20 years. Closed on Tuesday.
I think Covid take out is ruining ST Anne..The quality is going south..plus the amount of sauce is barely enough to cover the food and amount of meat at most, 50 percent ..its too late to complain at home..need to think twice before going back..they get 2 stars for the price and taste...
Good comfort food!
I always come here to eat curry. It can be sometimes cold. The Lemon Tea is the best I ever tasted.Service:Sometimes they forget your order so beware.
Super friendly service. I left my thermos last week. They gave back to me as soon as I walked in the restaurant. They really pay attention to their customers.
Visiting North Cal just stopped by for a quick bite thought the foods are good because a lot of people were seated in there. Foods are not good to me and dont even ask for service. Workers there are rude even though I speak their language. They see you but they ignore you. Will not be back. I will whether walk further down to eat at Shooting Stars.
Local restaurant serving Hong Kong style food. Reasonable price, good food. Can be crowded during lunch time.
Typical old-school Chinese joint in Oakland Chinatown. Nonetheless its one of the better joints there.
One of the few remaining HK Style Cafe in Oakland and a decent one. Their baked dishes can take a while (the waitress said 20 to 30 minutes) and thats because they really put it in the oven and not in the microwave. We opted for their iron platters and its one of the best values out there. Tthey come with a drink (coffee or tea), warm dinner roll, vegetable soup and either rice or spaghetti with their main entree.Note that this place is cash only and the staff here are mostly Cantonese speakers. Theyre open until about 9:00PM . Place is pretty spacious and clean for the most part.
Very authentic Hong Kong style restaurant, I love their HK style milk tea! Their baked dishes are also very tasty, worth a 20-minute-wait. Their baked pork chop rice and lunch combo are popular dish here, tasty and not expensive, authentic Hong Kong style. For big eaters, I would recommend their sizzling dishes combo, main dish comes with soup, bread, or toast, drink and rice/spaghetti.
Never ate there .Just put my flyers up for my up and coming COMEDY SHOW BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LOT OF FOOT TRAFFIC IT WILL GET NOTICED
I love it here. I love coming here whenever Im in the area. The selection of foods they offer are all of the ones I love!
One of my favourite cafe shop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Same owners for 20 years. Same menu. Delicious
Food is great. Consistently good throughout the years. Service is great too.
Its a really nice little restaurant with amazing food.
Casual. Decent food at budget prices. Its a great place to sit and eat after a morning of grocery shopping.😊
Love that place, but my daughter say the drink is drugged, so you keep come back for more.
Very busy HK style cafe. Food is authentic meaning not very strong flavors. Of youre use to this style it is very good.
Good old fashion HK food. Havent changed in 20 years.
I’ve come here since I was little and I love it!
This place is honestly the OG of Hong Kong style cafes. This old school style cafe is best known for their baked chicken or pork chop spaghettis. You really cant go wrong with anything in this joint. I have been here for the past 15 years and the quality remains. This is a family owned restaurant and the executive chef is the owner. They have a selection of classic chinese dishes with a european/american twist, sich as their spaghetti dishes and sizzling platters, those are a must. Not to mention, they make one of the best milk teas in the area. One of my favorite desserts to get is the ice cream with grass jelly, the best treat for a hot sunny day. Please understand that this is an old school style joint so if you want attention from the waitresses, you have to raise your hand. This us just the way this place is run. But by all means this place is awesome. Prices are good and the food is superb!
Authentic old fashioned HK style cafe. There can be a wait here and seating can be a bit cramped. Food here is simple and just the way it used to be
I ordered oysters and it was a smallest Ive ever seen in my entire life I also ordered clams and mussels
Very authentic HK style cafe. Love it.
The food here is so so. This is a so called Hong Kong style cafe. Dont expect too much here. Everything is a la carte including dinners. If they say pork chop then you just get pork chop. Dinners dont come with salads, soup, rolls, butter nor dessert unless stated. By the time you add all the extras you could have eaten a complete meal at Dennys for the same price.
Normally, if I was eating at a French restaurant Id order some sort of French food. But after seeing what other reviewers had to say about the burger, I had to give it a try. I visited Chez Maman for a midweek group dinner.
This 2 stars is for the service but not for the food! The waitress there tried to cheat on the customers by not giving them their drinks that come with the meals. Too sad
Love this spot, highly recommended!
Love the taste, consistency, presentation neatness 😋 Yummy.
My favorite Hong Kong style cafe in the bay area
Always a pleasure to eat here
Bad service, food is okay.
Friendly and affordable.
The lemon tea was great
Taste just like in HK
Best HK comfort food
Its called a coffee shop, but when we just ordered coffee, the Soup Nazis sister got pissed off at us.
Good food
This is not a coffee shop. Dont go there if youre looking for coffee.
Special place! I like it !
Cash only
Old Ye speak good ghost fine too noisy Chengri talk nonsense buried GOD
Will try Hong Kong-style fried chicken, borscht, baked spaghetti bolognese.
Nice Hong Kong style tea restaurant.
Wild food is ok, but it is necessary to wait for good resistance.
