Had aftermarket control arm bushings put on..didnt give me fits about my own..fair price to install them and the mechanic found a stripped bolt on a cover plate under my car.. he took the time to find a new bolt which fixed a noise id had for a while.. great communication on what your car does and doesnt need..

SCAMMERS! Uneducated and dishonest employees.We took our 2007 Mini Cooper here back in December 2019 because it sat for a year and wouldnt start. They kept our car for 9 weeks and said we had a blown motor. We paid the $1200 bill and paid to have the car towed home.Fast forward 6 months (today), I found a mechanic on a FB group who took the same car and 2 weeks later it runs like new. He replaced alternator and starter. Also he confirmed all the items Shannons said they replaced and billed us for WERE NOT TOUCHED. I now have video, image and paper proof that Shannons did indeed scam us out of $1200 for repairs not made. Thieves! If you care about your money or your car do not go here.

I usually have my vehicle serviced at the Volvo dealership, because I have to make an unexpected trip out of town & they didn’t have an availability on this short notice. So I started my search for an alternative option that services foreign vehicles. That’s when I came across Shannon’s foreign car service. I read the reviews on google and Facebook and because of the high ratings, reviews about how friendly, honest and reliable they were and a specific comment about their prices are incredibly lower than dealership prices for oil changes I decided to make an appointment.I have to say I’m more than disappointed. I asked on the phone the estimated cost and I was told it was based on a different factors (type of oil, amount needed, time since last oil change, condition of engine, filter needed, etc) what additional services I might want, something about an oil flush and fuel flush? and that we’d go over all of it. Literally no dollar amount but again I’m thinking well everyone is saying they’re priced lower then the dealership & I pay $62.15 for an oil change and filter at Volvo so I was assuming it would be somewhere in that range, considering I hadn’t gone a lot of miles or had a lot of time passed since my last oil change.Anyways I get there, with really high expectations that I’m about to get the customer service of a lifetime and my car serviced at a reasonable price by reliable people.I walk in the door and there is an employee and what I assume to have been another customer hanging out in the waiting area having a non car related conversation. I was not welcomed/greeted, or even acknowledged. I had my two young children with me so believe me when I say our presence couldn’t of been unknown. A good five minutes later the customer left and the employee went in the back, I sat waiting a few minutes and another employee came to get my keys and information. I should’ve spoke up and asked about pricing, but I was trying to settle the kids and I was under the impression that he’d be back after looking at the car.I never saw an employee again for the next 90 minutes. When he returned he had my bill & my keys and discussed all the issues he found with my vehicle (not related to the oil) that he recommended I come back ASAP to have repaired. But not ONE WORD about the oil change that was just completed on it. He handed me the bill and the breakdown was on the paper. $120.31 for my oil change.After being their 1.5 hours trying to keep small children occupied & seeing that shocking bill I wanted nothing more then to just leave because I was upset. The service was already done, I didn’t feel discussing the cost at this point was going to be effective & I didn’t want to be impolite.This whole experience was stressful, I should’ve been better prepared all around, with pricing and ways to occupy the kids. I am used to spending under 45 minutes at oil change service appointments and a substantially lower cost. So I can’t say that Shannon’s foreign car service is completely to blame.I will say what is bothering me the most is I was very excited for this appointment based on what I had read online. I thought this would become my new service place for the rest of the time I owned a foreign vehicle. I had expectations of amazing customer service, I am a single parent and I do not know anything about cars so having my car serviced gives me anxiety, it’s uncomfortable walking into the unknown. So finding a reliable trustworthy service station is essential to me because I don’t have personal knowledge or a person to accompany me that does. I thought I had finally found a place that could communicate to me a break down of issues, pricing and what needs to be done to ensure my car is safe for myself and my children. I thought this would be a perfect fit, maybe this sounds dramatic but I was truly excited this was big deal to me!I will also add the actual waiting room was the only thing I ended up being satisfied with, it was set up nice and appeared clean. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting though 🤦🏼‍♀️

Lack communication and fraudulently charge for unnecessary labor. Billed 5 X what I was quoted for an initial diagnostic test without notification in which is against Florida law 559.905 and forced to pay in order to have my car released. I was told everyday for over a week that I would receive a call back by the end of the business day with an update and I did not, so I had to call them continually to try to obtain information in which they poorly communicated. I was advised that the diagnostic test showed cylinder failure, but they were “trying to figure out what was causing it, so they could fix it.” After obtaining a second opinion and a diagnostic test which took less than an hour I was advised that the engine would need to be replaced and could not be fixed and the time in “labor” that Shannon’s stated they spent looking for the cause was unnecessary and they knowingly continued to charge for additional labor while aware that the engine could not be fixed and required total replacement.

We have taken our vehicles to Shannons Foriegn Car Service for almost 10yrs now and I wouldn’t use anyone else. We trust him to give us good advice on any new vehicle purchase as well as care for the vehicle! Highly recommended!!

Took my VW there for maintenance. They fixed some minor annoyances-Thank God. A few more repairs were recommended so I had them done. Very reasonable pricing. I had my son look over the work. He was impressed with the quality of work and pricing. Thanks Shannons!

If you have a foreign car they are the place to go. Will not over charge like dealerships. Also will let you no what is really needed to be fixed. Even open Saturday till 2. 24 HR road assistance

I ended up at Shannons Foreign Car Service by recommendation of a local air cooled only VW shop here in Ocala. I have not been disappointed... Shannon has performed a couple of major services on our 2009 GTI and I know for a fact that they have saved us at least 20-30% off dealer prices without the pressure of trading in our beloved GTI. If you enjoy the experience of driving a precision German auto without having the deepest of pockets, Shannons is the way to go! If you dont wish to pay for the play, might I suggest a Hyundai with a 10/100 warranty.... Bottom line, honesty and integrity shine through and everyone seems to have a passion for German cars. In my opinion you cant go wrong!

Shannon is a pleasure to deal with shows the number and has the updated equipment to do the same procedures as the dealer at FAR less cost. Dealer prices in Ocala seem to have one idea in mind...take advantage of the unaware. The $600 maintenance in Ocala costs $280 in Atlanta. Shannons cost was $280. Like I said fair and honest. He even tells you when its not something hes comfortable handling.Also the cleanest garage floor youll ever see.
