This place was exactly what we needed for some projects we are doing for our home. Fill sand is about $17 bucks a yard. (A yard for those of you that don’t know like me lol, is about a standard truck bed filled to the top) Our second order was 2 yards of black Augusta Gravel = $139 per yard. They do deliver, it’s about $39 per delivery but they cannot deliver multiple loads so if you order fill sand and gravel you have to pay for 2 different delivery drops.

I built a decent sized koi pond with rock borders and waterfalls. We shopped a lot of places we could find within delivery range. We had 4 big rock yards that we got quotes from and 3 sellers on ebay. I was getting worried my project was a little bigger than I first expected. I finally called Souther Aggregates Rock Yard. Super nice over the phone and gave me a amazing quote. I almost didn’t believe him but we went to check out the goods. I was super excited to see the awesome rocks they had. The price was amazing compared to all the others. Staff was awesome and I was lucky and had everything I picked out delivered to my house in a few hours. We are going back for more to extend the flagstone as a paver patio area. 5 stars all around.

Bought 5 cubic yards of garden soils to put in raised beds (under my husbands name). All plants turned yellow and the growth was stunned. We called to ask about the exact composition of the soil so that we could figure out what went wrong, but the person answered the call said she only knows what are in the soil but not the percentage of each thing. So we went to get the soil tested, the result showed that the soil ph is 7.8!!! way too high for vegetable garden. and is nitrogen deficient. Couldnt imagine worse soil to grow vegetable in.. even worse than the native sandy soil. Please dont buy garden soil from here. My heart was broken. Huge waste of energy, time, and money.______________We just communicated with the store about this issue in detail after receiving the response. He claimed that were the only customers who had issue with the soil so its likely that we have done something that contributed to the issue. I felt upset that he assumed this without even asking any questions. We only blended the soil with one bag of perlite and about 2 cubic feet of native sandy soil. We transplanted few vegetable seedlings and mostly sowed seeds to the soil in February. None of those could have contributed to such a dramatic increase of ph or nutrient deficiency. He also claimed that a high ph will not lead to yellowing plants or stunt growth, which is inaccurate. Whit high ph, nutrients are less soluble and unavailable for uptake by plant roots, and bacteria that release nitrogen from organic matter cannot operate well, which will definitely lead to stunt growth. Its frustrating that he tried to deny his responsibility with such baseless comments. After realizing the issue, I bought potting mix from the store and transplanted some small spouts. The transplanted ones immediately started to grow quickly in the potting mix while the ones still in the original soil stayed sad. So I became certain its the soils issue.I would feel a lot better if he could show more sympathy and, instead of blaming us for everything, at least take some responsibilities. Its unfair that we should assume full responsibility when none of us knew what went wrong. But the main massage we got was I dont know why you have a problem but we didnt do anything wrong so there is anything we could do. very sad 😥

I called one Thursday and spoke to a very nice woman to order gravel for our driveway in Gainesville. She was quickly able to tell me the amount I needed for the job and we set up the delivery date for the following Tuesday. (quick turnaround! ) That Tuesday, Johnnie arrived on time and placed the gravel precisely where we needed it. It is beautiful grey granite and really looks great! Thanks so much guys, we are very pleased with the product and the customer service!

They have a very good selection of rocks at their yard. The young woman at the counter was helpful and knowledgable. Only 4 stars because of the driver who didnt dump where we asked him to.
