The people at this shop are amazing. They took good care of my vehicle. I had an alternator go out on me, and I needed my car that day. Even though they were busy, they let me make a last minute appointment, and they stayed late just so I could make it home. They were very knowledgeable, and did not try to pull any shady tricks on me. They gave me some solid advice, and pointed out some things that I may want to look in to. The price was very reasonable, better than any other I could find. I will now be coming to D&J for any future needs. Highly recommend

I cant say enough about these guys, theyve saved me a small fortune over the decade Ive been going there.They say good work isnt cheap and cheap work isnt good but they have always been thousands cheaper because theyre the only honest mechanic Ive ever found.when I needed a new transmission to get me by a few months they found me a used one for like $700 when I couldnt even find another shop to do anything for less than $2000 even if I somehow found and supplied the part.Another time I had a rusted exhaust bolt break off in my Nissan Pathfinder engine (apparently Nissan was too cheap to put stainless steel bolts in the engine), other shops wanted $4K+ to replace the engine but these guys said they might be able to drill into the block and bore it out with new threads, $200 later it was all fixed!Another time my wife broke down near another shop, they told us we needed a new engine, I called D&J who said it sounds like we need a new engine, but I decided to have it towed to D&J anyway.D&J did a thorough check and found it was a little nothing fix that ended up costing a couple hundred bucks!I say good work isnt cheap and cheap work isnt good but an honest mechanic is always the best price because you couldnt pay me to let anyone else touch my car.

Unfriendly, turns you away, charges up the ying yang for NOTHING. Paid over $1300 for them to fix the problem and the check engine light turned on the very next day. Rude and shady.

Very good, went in for no charge light which I assumed was just the alternator. They diagnosed the problem and some research and said it could be a few things that would have cost a lot more. I checked online and found the same thing. I chose not to fix it and saved a bunch of money on a car I wasnt keeping anyway. Glad to see honest repair shops out there still. Thank you D&J.

Darren and Denise are wonderful human beings. They’re honest, reliable, professional, and i couldn’t be more relieved and appreciative for all that they do. Every time I take my car in Darren takes really good care of me. He addresses the issues in need and doesn’t try to up sell. His knowledge and skills is second to none in my opinion. My car comes back to me 100% without having to return for the same problem twice. On top of that Darren explains why your problem exist and what those parts do for one another. He educates you on your car instead of just telling you “this is what you need” like the majority of mechanics out there. Darren is a true automotive technician and I’m forever grateful. I had an excellent visit today. I went in thinking I needed breaks but I only needed a cleaning and lube today. Darren explained the issue in great detail and gave me great advise On what to Look for if your breaks are bad. I also got tire advise as well which is greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this business to all that need mechanic work done. They do professional work and are very kind and friendly. I am very pleased with my visit.

I found this place near where I work. They had an easy website form to fill out my request. The owners called me back within a couple of hours. They fixed all my car issues the next day. They are very knowledgeable about cars. They even broke it down in laymen’s terms to me! I’m super happy with my new ac in my car. I recommended this auto shop to anyone!

We have been to so many mechanics all over North County. Encinitas, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Vista, etc. I am very mechanically inclined and only use a shop when I don’t want to waste a weekend working on my cars, or don’t feel like getting dirty. If you aren’t getting ripped off, you’re getting over-charged is what I have found. D and J was very honest, direct, had the opportunity to make more of the job than it was, but only did what was honestly needed. We loved their communication and flexibility for drop off and pick up. We are excited to know them and for they being their for our next need.

Excellent customer service. Every person who helped me was kind and, most importantly, informative. They dont just tell you what to pay for at the end. They explained why every measure was taken and why they left some measures out (e.g. Some parts didnt need replacing) which I found as a sign of integrity. I will bring my truck back here for everything I need.

I had a good experience here. I did feel like I was paying more than I might somewhere else, but you get what you pay for. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, explained thouroughly what needed to be done, and timely. I felt like I was in good hands.

Awesome mechanics, family business and fair prices. They took the time to have the lead mechanic explain all the work my wifes car needed and were helpful without being pushy or overly sales oriented.Also they have online appointments and great communication via email and text messaging.We dont even live near them but will drive over there for auto work!

I moved here from NY, and am happy that I found a good mechanic in the area. Not sure of his name, but the head is a good guy, and he has his family working at the shop. Honest pricing, went through a few options with me and different pricing. All the work came out great, no problem at all.

Excellent service and very friendly! Im so glad to have found them! I needed a turn signal replaced in a Durango and those that know Durangos will know how hard the left one is to replace. It was done very quickly and at a much more reasonable rate than the dealer. I am definitely coming back for all my service needs!

I was looking for a good shop to do a alignment on my truck and I happened across this shop. The price was very fair and service was quick. James one of the owners was very considerate while I was asking questions as he was working on my truck. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

My car A/C went out while we were on a vacation trip. D&J diagnosed the problem and fixed it without my losing time from my trip. Also showed me that the people supposedly maintaining my car were not doing their job. I am totally satisfied.

Great place to get work done to your vehicle, the staff actually cared about getting the work done to the best of their ability and take the time to explain what work they did and then some. Only issue I had was that the restroom light didnt work... still, 5 STARS!

The women in the office did not and/or could not answer my inquiry as to the possible cost of replacing my cat in my truck.I was told that NO estimate could or would be available unless the $135.00 (?) diagnostic was performed first. When pressed I was told We have customers here and we do not have time..... Which I took to mean that my business was not wanted.......it seemed that I was bothering them. Guess they have plenty of business.....not getting any of mine
