Evelyns work for my wedding in Sept was terrible. Hiring her was such a mistake. The whole experience was horrible and extremely frustrating! Her work and customer service were completely lacking and no where near worth the $2,000+ spent. She assured me, when I initially came in and placed my order, there was more than enough time to make the 11 adult and 3 child outfits for my bridal party. I was skeptical, but she ASSURED ME she would have them done and they would be of quality. Evelyn lied to get paid!She rushed to finish the order and she fell far short of what she promised to deliver. Evelyn provides work that is at best 50% accurate and claims it is 80-90%. Pockets were uneven, seams noticeably uncentered, buttons popped off when you simply try to button them, no ones outfit fit appropriately despite the fact she was provided measurements and did personal fittings. Overall, her work was ridiculously shabby and her level of unprofessionalism was so extreme that anyone paying for service would consider it blatant disrespect and cancel their order.  So soooo many times I wish I could have canceled and found someone else.Rather than hiring help to complete the project (which she said she had), she greedily kept all the money we paid and tried to do the entire order alone. Consequently, we were made to suffer for her inability to meet deadlines she set or conduct fittings and appointments in a timely manner. I was so disappointed and felt so regretful with my choice to hire Evelyn being that my bridal party spent their own money for their garments (which Evelyn at one point said, Thats  not a lot of money, to imply we should be accepting of her faulty work and lack of professionalism considering what we are spending. When is it EVER acceptable for a business to presume to know what a lot of money is for its customers?) Finally, the day before my wedding, she had the audacity to demand $300 more than agreed to in our signed contract with no ryhme, reason, or basis.Evelyn misrepresented her abilities, gave an unrealistic time frame for completion, never stuck to her word, and will blame the client for her failures as a seamstress/professional until she is blue in the face. I have never been so mishandled and disrespected as a customer or client in my life.HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Great African attire. Modern attire with accents of African dress. Amazing colors!!! This not only a retail store but an experience. Take tour and speak with the owner and she will enlighten you of all the history and culture embedded in her art. I had two outfits custom made and the experience was awesome. She custom fitted me from head to toe. Additionally, this is an excellent place to find Greek Fraternity and Historically Black College and University (HBCU) paraphernalia. You will not be disappointed.

Love shopping from this store. Ms. Evelyn has created beautiful attire for me and my son. This is also my go to place to purchase Shea butter.

Made a special order two months ahead of event, they fell way short of my expectations. Workmanship was extremely poor, the final product was poor, and timely delivery wasn’t met. Buyer Beware, shop around, I’ll definitely won’t bring my business to them again. Yes, you did do work for my bride and me! How quick you forget just like the short fallings of your work!

Okay. I must share this. I have a very special Kwanzaa gathering this coming Saturday. My Kinara was pretty worn and it broke on me a few days ago. I was looking for Kinaras everywhere and they were all sold out. Evelyn Creation was selling a beautiful Kinara on Etsy. I reached out on Wednesday 12/23 to see if I could purchase the Kinara and get it by Saturday (12/26). With Christmas Eve and Christmas in between, I was not very hopeful that she could assist me. She delivered excellent customer service, product status updates, kept me calm with her demeanor and confidence and delivered a beautiful Kinara that arrived on Thursday (12/24)! I highly recommend this vendor and will definitely make more purchases.

I needed two custom pair of pants made in two days while I was in town and Mrs Evelyn Benton the owner delivered more than I expected. She is a master seamstress, one that you can depend on for quality and a speedy outcome. She has always adhered to her African tradition, and sewing is her artistic expression.

I was having a hard time finding the right dress for my sisters African themed wedding. Having very little knowledge of this form of attire, Evelyns Creations filled in the gaps and gave me the assurance and confidence I needed in selecting the perfect outfit. Her associate was very knowledgeable and took his time assisting me in choosing the right print and cloth. Evelyn created a custom and signature piece for me within a couple of days. She also put my entire outfit together, within my budget, so that I didnt need to go anywhere else. The jewelry is authentic and I am walking away a very pleased customer. This is definitely the boutique that you would want to visit. The service was impeccable and I will definitely be back.

If you have an upcoming event and you want to look absolutely amazing, than Evelyns creations is your one stop shop for all your needs. I was going on a cruise in less than a week, and the fabric that i ordered for my dress idea didnt come in until a few days before. and i started feeling hopeless. I contacted Evelyn to see if their was anything that she could do for me. She told me dont worry she got me, and she meant every word. This women is a magician behind that sewing machine, she made my dress practical right before my eyes and she did it so effortlessly and flawlessly. Within 3 days my dress was done. The night of my event i felt like Cinderella and Evelyn was my fairy God mother that made it all happen for me. The amount of complements i got that night was unreal. I felt like the Empress of the Sea on that cruise. I stole the night away, everyone was calling me royalty, and yes indeed i was the best dressed that night.

Get unique artwork and african style jewelry. There are specialized incense, candles, incense and soaps. The owner can make any outfit you dream up. Even if you have no money you must visit the store to experience the new world of fashion when you pass through the doors.

I have had a deep desire to find a store like this where I can try on different pieces that are unique and affordable. Evelyn is so sweet and humble and has soooo much variety!!! The variety of KEMETIC/AFRICAN clothing was previously cut and made available for tailoring on the scene a subsequent appointment for a final fitting.
