Worst experience ever. I brought my car in because the head gasket blew and they told me the cats pooled with oil and needed to be replaced. They charged me over 2,000 dollars for that and come to find out they just needed to be dumped and cleaned not replaced. One employee stole a bunch of stuff from my car and I was told it wasn’t their problem. The head gasket and cats cost me almost 6,000 dollars which I have since found out is super over priced. The manager devante is very unprofessional and has major attitude problems. It also took over 6 months to get my car back just to have it break down yet again. Please don’t bring your vehicle here. They WILL rip you off and lie every step of the way

We brought our car to them for a diagnostic test to see why the air conditioner wasn’t working. We were given a list and a quote of the things that needed to be fixed. We decided to get our car fixed with them, and we were told that this was EVERYTHING that needed to be done in order to get the AC working again. After we dropped the car off, we got a call saying that they had replaced the hose, refilled fluids, etc. but it didn’t fix it and that we would need a new compressor which was an additional $1,040 (we were already paying $1,000 for this repair). Obviously, we are upset that their diagnostic was wrong and asked that they take any parts out that weren’t actually the issue and order the compressor. It doesn’t make sense to pay for something that wasn’t the problem. They agreed to do that, but unfortunately couldn’t get the compressor for our car in today so the reverted back to their original statement of us owing them $1,000, even though what they “fixed” was not the issue. We drove down to get the car and spoke with the GM, all was fine and calm until Davonte came out, (rolling his eyes, smirking, smiling) He was very very rude, unprofessional, unpleasant and condescending. They would not let us take the car unless we paid the full $1,000. We even offered to pay them for the labor, just not the parts because they weren’t parts that we needed. The GM did not correct his employees extremely unprofessional or condescending behavior, which ultimately made the situation escalate.We ended up having to pay the full $1,000 in order for us to get our keys. They are a scam. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, never take your car here find a locally owned mechanic with well trained mechanics and good morals.

The guys are a bunch of crooks. DeVante the manager is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. He will tell you one thing and then act like he never said anything. We thought by going to a national chain service center we would be saved from a crook small repair shop. But dont be fooled this place will rip you off and make empty promise and straight lie to you. The repair work is shoddy had to return vehicle 3 different times to get it working.

The manager was not honest our reliable took no responsibility on how long it would take to do the job. Transmission was fully covered under insurance at car hop. He insisted that we were to pay 100$ deductible. Car hop tried communicating with aamco several times. Now Aamco has had our vehicle for 3 weeks with no idea how long it will take. Will never recommend them to any one and will let car hop aware not to do business there our any location.

This is the worst shop Ive ever dealt with....Ever. Not only did they have my truck for nearly 4 months. the owner and all management are absolutely terrible to try to communicate to. I had to call dozens of times to get a simple answer. both the owner and manager have no idea how to do there jobs. its a miracle they stay business. and after spending nearly 10,000 dollars and getting a truck back with a broken transmission 4 times they warned me if I brought it in again they would charge me. Worst business owner. this was a terrible experience and I hope you never ever go here. I pray 🙏this truck keeps rolling because every time it blows up I have to deal with them again and every time has been another terrible experience.

I have waited for over 2 months for Amco Transmissions to replace the transmission in my car. They told me it would only take a week, and have told me multiple dates since then when the transmission part would be delivered and put in my car, and it doesn’t happen. Never going here again.

Okay so theres a lot. For some reason the price kept changing. Also FYI most people arent made of money so when they ask what it costs. They want to know the total they will be paying out the door. And this place only told me 5100 but somehow with tax it would be 5900. also when somebody asks for an itemized quote. That means an ITEMIZED quote. Not oh this is how much it costs for the transmission and this is how much for labor. Um no. I asked for an itemized quote. That means I want to see everything down to what each part costs. This has been a giant headache and needless to say they will not be seeing us again.

We were from out of town and had transmission problems. The technicians diagnosed the problem and gave me options on repair. They stayed open after hours and completed the job in two days after the diagnostics. Everyone was kind and professional. Highly recommend for transmission repair at a reasonable price.

I had to call THEM to find out what was going on. THEY should have called ME. This is my gripe. Initial estimate of 2,200 turned into 3,200. Would have been more understandable if they would have kept in touch during the repairs. They did the repairs well and helped me get financed so I could afford it, but their communication with me left a lot to be desired. Overall I am satisfied with the repairs but unsatisfied with their customer service.

Took car in to look at A/C was told it needed A/C belt, coolant hoses Enflamed radiator, air filter to engine and cabin, evacuate and recharge A/C $1000. Took car in and after they replaced above items, they called to say that wasn’t the problem-it needs a new compressor for an additional $1000. Went to shop to discuss and the manager was extremely smug and arrogant told me to pay or leave the car. They are scammers and dishonest and Rude and unprofessional. Aamco claims their first priority is customer service-they are far from that. Terrible placeJohnny C,You won’t find my name because it wasn’t under my name but my son-in-law. I don’t know who you are, but FYI the manager refused to assist. We will be contacting the Utah Department of Consumer Affairs. I recently found a review who had a similar experience to where the store was going to call the police. The customer contacted Utah Department of Consumer Affairs and was very well taken care of. This manager threatened to contact DCFS. This is no joking matter. I’m sure you are some person who gets paid to respond to these reviews. You have no idea what took place. And since I have no way of replying directly to you, it gets to be posted on your review page.

They were the only shop in the area able to build me a custom transmission for my 67 Chevy. Their price was competitive compared to what I found online.

Took three days to get the one item I needed for my repairs, cost me an extra $500 in hotel stay costs, and charged me more for the labor than the parts cost when the truck just sat in the shop according to the cashier. The aamco location in Sandy is much better and they even recommended I contact corporate to get the labor cost refunded for my inconvenience and time wasted.

Davante has been working my situation for more than 6 months snd he helped anyway possible plus they did an amazing job on my truck it runs better than the day I bought it! These guys really know what they are doing and they don’t just do transmissions they can do anything including body work! I recommend these guys!

I brought my jeep in for a tune up and transmission flush/fluid change. I feel they did an excellent job on doing everything I asked for and the customer service was somewhat good but not great for that reason alone I give aamco ogden a four stars instead of five. All in all I think they were very professional and did a great job. I am very satisfied.

Just had my yearly transmission check up and it’s still working great. No leaks. No harsh shifts. Great rebuild considering price was half of what the dealer wanted to charge.

I ended up here after another AAMCO out of state botched an oil change and almost seized my engine. The guys here got me in right away and took care of everything. I’ll definitely be going back

$212 computer diagnostic, no update that they would have my car for more than 24 hours. The first 14 before that all on me since I took it in at 3pm.Diagnostic was 100% wrong. My problem was diagnosed as requiring a tune up. Problem is that it waa actually an electrical problem that wasnt even part of the diagnosis. Recommended course of action $2200 for engine tuneup related work. Actual ncessary repair and diagnosis only $240.Thankfully I got a second opinion. Computer diagnostic took 2 hours and the diagnosis was correct. It was also an obvious one since most of the engine codes related to the oxygen and other sensors were directly tied to the same fuse. The sheathing on the wiring harness had worn off leaving the wiring exposed to the engine or transmission. Exposed wiring and metal dont mix......Lesson learned, 4.2 stars doesnt mean things will get fixed. Money saved by not blindly following recommendations $2000 give or take a little. Cost of trusting Google reviews $212......An actual refund for the computer diagnostic wouldnt make this a 5 or 4 star review based on total time wasted and the fact there was zero communication indicating I wasnt getting my car back the next day.

Brought my Acadia originally for transmission issues i was having,. the repairs where only temporary as i started having issues with it again shortly after., the only reason i brought it back to them was because my warranty would not allow me to take it elsewhere as they had an agreement with aamco and i did not have the funds available to pay out of pocket myself., The second time around they replaced the transmission on their own dime, in doing so i also had them take care of the power steering because it was cheaper doing it when they where exchanging transmissions. when i received it back the electrical was off but I was so tired of taking it back to only have additional issues after that i left it alone. Well Since i got my car back Ive driven it a total of 3 times because the plan was to sell and i didnt want to risk any other issues coming up., after this last time i now have a warning to service the power steering again., it has not even been 6 months since the repairs . I would suggest taking your car elsewhere., I used my warranty on a company that may not have mechanics actually taking taking care of fully repairing the issue but instead putting a band aid on it and calling it good. the owner seems like an honorable man so i dont put blame on him as he didnt directly work on the car but the issues with the car speak for itself.., Now I am taking it elsewhere in hopes this time i wont have to deal with the same problem again.

Made an appointment to get my transmission serviced and oil changed. After nearly a 3 hour wait they returned my car without servicing the transmission and charged me $70 for the oil change (I provided my own oil and filter it costs me $40 at the dealer if I don’t bring oil) and asked me to come back later to have the transmission serviced.(Edit) I emailed the owner per response to this review so far no reply..

I came here with minor issues that i thought were big. I dont know much about cars They were honest with me and instead of charging me an arm and a leg I left with a tiny bill . It was a simple fix. They also fixed something small on my car for free. They really care about you.

I took my standard transmission in to have it looked at. DeVante told me I would need a new TCM to fix the problems. I did not feel comfortable as he was fast talking me.I know enough about vehicles that I figured he was blowing smoke. I took my truck into a couple of other shops and asked about a TCM.Both shops laughed out loud! TCMs are for automatic transmissions.My truck is a standard!These guys were good when Sam was running the shop we took lots to them and never had a problem this DeVante fellow is a clown.Please dont take your vehicles here!

No one was wearing masks (besides the customers) except for one mechanic who never left the garage. We were at their store for over 6 hrs. Five of them waiting for a loaner vehicle to get home, which was just over an hr away. We were there 3 hrs after they closed waiting for a car on their lot to be re-keyed because the keys were misplaced. It had apparently been dropped off that morning which I know was a full faced lie. With the thick layer of dust on the car and the fact that the battery was so dead that the dome lights wouldnt even turn on with an open door, it had to have been sitting there for a least a couple of weeks if not months, which also explains why no one knew where the keys to it were. To make matters worse we had our two boys with us during all this waiting. Aged 2 and 3. We only took enough food with us for lunch, not thinking it would be an all day adventure. They didnt seem to be in too great of a rush to help us get out of there so we could feed our boys. I need to add that the employee that stayed with us, after they closed, was kind. He was just as frustrated with the slowness of the locksmith as we were. He kept us updated and informed during the long wait, and even tried offering food for our boys even though we could not accept it due to allergies and special needs that he did not know of. So, thank you!

Took a week to tell me that my transmission needed to be replaced, and I had to call them to get that info. They said they could have it fixed in 3-5 days, and two weeks later they still were not done. They did rent a car for me after the second week, and they reimbursed me for it. I ended up paying almost as much as if I had just gone to the dealership and had them replace the transmission. Their customer service, and communication skills could use a vast upgrade. The car was fixed, and seems to be working good, but the overall experience, and price left a bad taste. I would not recommend them.

BEST SHOP IN THE AREA! I heard that they knew a lot about Subarus and mine was having some issues with the engine. I tried diagnosing it myself but to no avail. I took it to them and they got it checked out and found what the problem was. The timing belt skipped. They then gave me a few options to get it fixed. I called Subaru and some other car repair shops I have used in the past for quotes and AAMCO was almost 40% cheaper than all of these other shops. I okayd the repair and they had my Subie back on the road in less than 3 days. I love how it works now and I am so happy I took it here! Thank you AAMCO! I will tell my friends and family about you guys!

I loved the service, punctuality and professionalism of their work. Also, they have different financial options. I had my transmission done and it is working great. I definitely recommend this place to anyone that ones to have a transmission done or any other issue on your car.

We had a great experience with one of the technicians helping us pump our tire up. We blew a tire by their shop and the spare was flat. Their technician came out and pumped up the spare and changed the tire on his lunch. Thank you tony! You are a lifesaver!

They put a transmission in a vehicle and I bought the truck out if the shop. In less than 500 miles the transmission is already broken. It wont go into drive. So thinking they warranty their work I bring my truck in. Not only did they charge me to figure out what was wrong with the transmission that they put in they want me to pay to put a new transmission in. So because they put it in wrong I have to pay out of pocket for a new one. Not only will I never come back but I will tell everyone that I know to never trust aamco. They are just there to steal all your money and give you parts that youll have to replace in a week or two.

DeVante and the entire team at AAMCO have been so amazing, helping us with both of our cars and working with us on getting payments to them to cover the very expensive work or replacing an engine. We love working with them because we get the fullest information on our vehicles and how much we could be paying. We will be taking our cars to them all the time even though there are many shops between us and AAMCO from Clearfield to them in Ogden.We love them and trust them completely. Only been two weeks and Im having problems with my transmission that was rebuilt by aamco

I brought my car in for preventative work due to a noise I was hearing. At first they were nice and told me I could buy an extended warranty if they had to do anything. A simple inspection turned to them dropping the transmission, then claiming it needed to be rebuilt. They quoted $600, then $1,800, then $2,500. I asked about the cost of an extended warranty. At this point the Mechanic started to yell and swear at me. He said I was ungrateful because I didnt appreciate what they were offering me. He tried to intimidate me into having the repairs done. Then the price went up to $3,500. They then told me that I should be grateful I hadnt taken it to Tanner transmission because they would have just dumped it in an ally. The person running the front office then claimed he was going to call his friend who was a prosecuting attorney he went into the back room and then returned claiming to have spoken to his friend the Judge and said I was in legal trouble if I didnt do what they wanted. I told them they were breaking state law and showed them and read to them from the Utahs Department of Consumer Affairs (Automotive) website. They then said they believe the word of their Judge friend over a google search. They threatened to call the police to have me arrested because I was trespassing. In the end, they put my car back together, but under-filled the transmission by 1 quart, and didnt reconnect one of the hoses properly. Having refused to have any work done, I still I had to pay over $600 to get my car back. I then filed a complaint with the State department of Consumer affairs. To AAMCO I give 1 star to because it is the minimum rating, but to the State Investigator, I give 5 stars, he got me a full refund. It has now been several months and my car continues to run well, no problems with the transmission after I added the missing quart of transmission fluid. The original noise turns out to have been due to hot weather.

Went in because my car was making a grinding sound on the right tire and popping on the back right tire they told me it was my brakes and my spring when I dropped it off they told it it would take a day they had my car for 5 days and only told me that I needed up replacing the brakes and the rotors and it still does the same thing so they lied didn’t even bother to check what it actually was and still charged me 100 for the inspection

I love this shop I had my transmission built at a different garage and they did not adjust the line that goes to the shifter of my car and I was having difficulties so I went to AAMCO transmission shop and they did an excellent job fixing the problem they had it done very fast I did not have to wait long by time I got off work my car was done I am highly impressed by them and I thank them I have had no more issues with my vehicle I’m just so thankful to them they’re the best in town

They fixed my transmission last year and I have had no issues with it. Had them install a shift kit and my shifting is a lot more peppier and I can definitely feel a difference.

I would never recommend this shop EVER!They rebuilt my transmission. It took them 3x as long as they said it would.They did not include some necessary repairs when the transmission was replaced and the transmission failed.I took the vehicle back to them they had it for over 1 month stalling and finally telling me they would not stand by their extended warranty.The transmission failed in under 1 year and 5000 miles!Buyer beware!

Paid extra for 18 month warranty the truck was under mileage and under the months and they wanted 185 for a pan gasket replacement and to change the fluid for a total of 450 which was ridiculous because it still should’ve been under warranty wouldn’t use anything that they have to offer the parts were cheap after having someone else look at it said that I may as well get rid of it they probably used as cheap parts inside as they did on the outside even the mechanic said that I must’ve over tightened it still wouldn’t do anything stay clear!!!

Manny knows his stuff! I took my truck to three different shops, even the dealership and nobody could figure out why my transmission wasn’t working like it should. I even had a different shop replace the transmission and it didn’t fix anything.Once I got it to mannys it took them 2 hours to figure out the problem. He told me it was a $372 valve body ($750 if I wanted it new). I was very very skeptical because I feel like I’ve been abused by other shops with nothing to show for it. I had him go ahead on it since it was such a lower price compared to what I had already spent. He said it would take a day to do.The next day I got a call and Manny said the transmission was working great. Still skeptical I went over there and to my surprise it worked flawlessly. I think the original issue was the valve body but since the other shops didn’t know what they were doing they either tried to sell me a trans rebuild or couldn’t figure it out. I’m glad I finally found someone who knows their stuff. Thank you!!

These guy are awesome! I decided to try and fix a head gasket on my own. Got it taken apart and realized that I was in over my head. I called around to see about prices and they said they would check it out for free and that they do a lot of Subaru’s. I had it towed there. The next day I got a price on the repair and it was less than what I was expecting (Subaru dealership quoted me WAY more). I decided to get it done and they called me a few days later and told me it was finished. I should have taken it to them in the first place. Thanks aamco

Was in the area dropping off kids at school when while trying to fill my tires with air, I blew a fuse. Jason was great and Tony did the fuse replacement and filled my tire. Glad to have a local place in Ogden I can swing by when I am in a bind and trust to do a good job. Let there be sound and safe tires most importantly. Had no appointment, they just took care of me right on the spot.

Two of my cars were trashed by a large rodent!! the crew at the Ogden AAMCO fixed one the next day and the other the following day, could not tell that my cars were inoperable the days before. my cars ran like new. Decided to have my truck serviced also. Three vehicles serviced in three days and all are running perfectly. Very profession and attention to detail service. Defiantly going to take my vehicles back there for future service. GREAT JOB!!!

Ammco from wall avenue Ogden. in September of 2018 I took to repair the transmission of my truck. but it never worked well. since October my truck driver started with faults. It does not make speed changes. it stays at second speed. It loses traction completely and Im afraid that if that happens when I cross a street, they will collide with me. already take 4 times for repair and they cant the problem. I hold this shop responsible if it could cause a crash due to these faults. The manager who has treated me is called Mani. Im sorry but I hope that my complaint is already published and my van is well fixed. or reimburse my money.

Bad service, dishonest and full of fee’s. Do not recommend as the try and take advantage of their customers and charge them anything and everything. All they care about is your money and I did not feel as though they were giving me the whole truth about my vehicle. I am sickened by their service. Do not go here.

Shout out to Sam for helping my family and I with our transmission. We up set an appointment online through their website. When we arrived they had a spot open for us and started checking out my vehicle. I had a leak or something coming from my engine (a weird hissing noise). They found the issue within 10 minutes of me dropping it off. Gave me a quote and waited while I called my husband and another shop to make sure it was a fair price. Sam actually quoted me $50 less than what the other shop wanted that I called. I went ahead and got it fixed and it’s been over a month now and still no noise so it seems to be fixed. Thanks Sam!

I took my car to the Salt Lake City AAMCO to have a minor slippage problem checked out. When I picked up my car, I was told I needed a $3,500 complete rebuild transmission replacement. When I drIVE away, I found that I had very severe transmission problems, far, far worse than they had been before I took the car in. The AAMCO shop was less than no help. They told me that the inspection process could not possibly have made my car worse, and this was just proof that I did need a whole new transmission. I have not been able to drive the car since without causing further damage, so I am saving up to take it ANYWHERE ELSE BUT TO THOSE THIEVING SCUM AT AAMCO!

These guys serviced my transmission after I moved from Murray and they did it quickly and no leaks afterwards.

My engine exploded and he was there in less than 20 minutes to pick me up off the side of the freeway, towed us back to his shop and even gave us a lift to the nearest train stop, all of this for free as long as hes doing work on the car. Was really nice and helped in a pinch. Life saver.

I have been going to this aamco for 4 years after having rebuilt my ford transmission. Never had any issues with it since having it rebuilt, but I have it checked yearly just in case. Tony the mechanic knows his stuff. I was BSing with him last week while my truck was getting checked and Im glad he is the one looking at it.

These guys saved me a lot of money! I came in thinking that I had a bad transmission. My Mazda 3 was shifting very weird and I had a bunch of check engine lights. I researched it and found that it was most likely a transmission. Expecting the worst, I went to aamco and met with the manager there. He told me that they would check it out and let me know what they found. An hour or so later they told me that it wasnt the transmission but the computer module. They gave me prices for a new one and a used one, I went with the used one and got my car fixed for less than $500 out the door! I am so thankful that they didnt take advantage of me! I was ready to have my transmission replaced and they could have got a lot of money out of me. Thank you for being honest!

Good service they were able to fix my truck fairly quickly. Service rate was fairly surprising, but for the work they did was okay. Overall a good place to get work done.

I live in Salt Lake City and I drive up to Ogden when to AAMCO to get my car serviced on. Fantastic employees ran by a perfect example manager Matt. Theyve always taken good care of me. Good, trustworthy automotive shops are hard to come by these days and this one is a keeper. :)

I went in asking for a transmission fluid change - they did diagnostics without asking me, charged me the diagnostic fee, and didnt change the fluid like I had asked in the first place.

I brought my Jeep in recently because it was shaking violently. $537 and a week later I get it back and the problem was not fixed. I return it and they balance the tires for free. This took several days. The Jeep still shakes. I will not be returning again. The man I spoke with seemed to have a genuine concern and tried to be helpful.... but that alone will not get me to work and back.

Usually I have found AAMCO to be overpriced for many of their services, however these guys did a great job on my last repair.

Been having oil changes done here and never had a leak or any issue. Oil level is always correct.

2 years ago Tanner transition charged me $3000 for a used, rebuilt transmission & NEVER fixed my gear issue. One visit to Aamco changed my car. Fast, friendly, honest employees, thank you Matthew & Manny I appreciate your hard work & dedication.

These guys are the best...honest and upfront. I thought something was wrong with my daughters car..took it in, they kept it overnight, ran a bunch of different tests on it and did not find anything..rather than make something up to repair, they just returned it and it has ran perfect ever since! I have taken all my cars to this Aamco and I have always been happy!
