Ive used Auto Tech for well over the last 13yrs. Whenever I had an issue with any car I had, I was able to bring it in and get it fixed. Jeff and staff have always been kind, prompt, and fair and have taken care of friends and family I have sent their way for business as well. Im a bit disappointed though as I have called several times, and drove by the shop and saw no one there or answers the phone. Have they changed numbers? Have they moved?
Jeff is great to work with! He uses quality products, gets the job done, and pushes through even if the job isn’t as easy as it should have been! Thanks Jeff and staff!
I am new to the area and needed work done on my vehicle and Jeff was able to get me right in and got me all taken care in a couple of hours. I will be taking all of my business there and I recommend anyone else doing the same. That is if you want your car serviced professionally...
Starter went out on daughters jeep, I couldnt get the old one out, autotech made it easy on me, great price and customer service, will now use them for anything I cant do
These guys did a great job! I have a 2014 Fiat and finding a place to work on it isnt easy, but these fellas were certainly a hidden gem! Fixed a thermostat for half the price a dealership estimated and got me back on the road with confidence. Couldnt recommend more.****Take note that the number listed for the business is a mobile phone, so you can text if they dont pick up! Had a bit of trouble getting a hold of them until I figured this out ****
Jeff was absolutely amazing and so friendly! He and Dan did a great job on my car and got everything done so quickly and for such a reasonable price. Will only be going here for any car issues in the future!
I had my 2006 Jeep at a different shop for a over heating issue. I was quoted over $6000 and told to get rid of the vehicle. I couldn’t believe it, I love the vehicle. I had auto tech take a look at it for a second opinion. Now I have read the reviews they have and went in totally open minded deciding to give the local business a shot. Jeff was who I dealt with. He was pleasant and professional. He (or they) conclusively found the problem, fixed it and my total bill was $731. I have driven the vehicle for a bit now and the problems were eliminated. So from a totally unbiased point of view, I felt that I was treated professionally, my concerns were addressed in a timely manner and the price was reasonable. I think what I was most pleased with though is the time they took to correctly identify the issue and call to explain it to me, asking if I wanted to proceed. I felt the other places I have had things before are in it for the ease of a buck and simply say a blanket statement of failure with no real testing or analysis done. If it is not an easy “money making” repair, the other shops really don’t want it. Auto tech took the time to figure out what the actual issue was. I realize that took some time and effort that may not have been “easy” and fast but they did it. So for that, auto tech, thank you. It’s nice to know I can take my vehicle somewhere and you’ll do what is needed to actually get me an answer whether I like the result or not. I wish more repair shops shared your values on that. Keep up the good work guys
These guys are knowledgeable and fair priced. They watched out for my son is 91 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the two years he was out here going to Michigan State. We just drove home from East Lansing to Pasadena California and made it in four days and that jeep that they maintained. Well done and thanks for being honest.
Jeff at Auto Tech was a pleasure to work with. He diagnose the problem with our BMW X3 and I never felt pressured to authorize any additional repairs. They had my car on the road the next day. The prices were as expected. Even after I had another issue a week later, he took a look at my vehicle and diagnosed the issue without charging me any fees for his time.
Great work, great price, nothing more to say. Highly recommmended
You set an appointment to have your car looked at you get there and nobodys there you call the number 10 times nobody answers
The absolute best shop anyone could ask for, best priced, they got me in and out very quickly and solved my no starting issue very quickly that other shops could not figure out and the other shops still charged me to try to figure it out.. jeff is the most honest person you will ever meet and the prices are unbeatable!! Definitely recommend to my friends and family and anyone else who wants great service and prices!! Definitely will return when I need more car repair!!
Cheapest place around! Decent laid back people who are trustworthy and straight up with whats going on and how much it will cost. They dont try to get more money out of you than whats needed to be done. Would highly recommend!
I had an excellent experience at Auto Tech in East Lansing! After initially scheduling an appointment, I was able to come in a day early and they were able to accommodate me. I needed to get my brakes fixed, but had no idea exactly what needed to be done. Not only did they fix my brakes in less than 2 hours, but they told me that I didn’t need to have a complete/full brake replacement like I was expecting; this reduced the cost significantly. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and service I experienced. There is no doubt I will be taking all of my vehicles to Auto Tech in the future. I would definitely recommend Auto Tech to my family and friends!
I took my car to East Lansing Auto Tech to have my brakes fixed. Ryan, gave me an estimate on what work needed to be done. Ryan was very patient and knowledgeable and explained to me what & why I needed to repair the brakes. Ryan gave me a written estimate before the repairs were started at a much lower price than the other two repair shops that I had called. And the other two repair shops could not do the work for 2 to 3 days & Auto. Tech. could repair them that day! They have three very qualified & dependable mechanics there daily. They were all very friendly and trustworthy! I will definitely recommend Auto. Tech. to all my friends! And when I need any cars repaired I will take them back to Auto. Tech. Theyve gained my trust! Thank you Auto. Tech. for the Great job repairing my brakes!
Ive got a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that Ive been bringing in for the better part of 6 years. Ive had zero issues with their work or their pricing. Jeff has always been upfront with me about the costs and has been flexible with the pickup/payment. There are not a whole lot of places that will allow you to pick up your car on a Sunday after hours and pay on a Monday.Ive recommended them to friends and family over the years and I wouldnt do that if I didnt trust their work
We have taken 3 of our vehicles here and have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of work that Auto Tech delivers! Not only were the issues resolved, they were fixed in a timely manner and for a reasonable price. Its a good feeling to know that this company is honest and will NOT lie and tell you that things need to be repaired, when they dont. EXCEPTIONAL service!!
This is hands down the best place in town to take your vehicle. I would never take my business anywhere else. These guys are honest, reliable and affordable. I recommend them to everyone! Ive never had such great service, Ive been coming here for years and will continue to do so.
I recently had my brakes fixed by this shop and was impressed by all aspects of the services received. When I initially contacted Auto Tech and provided a summary of my car issues I was given two quotes that represented a simple brake pad replacement to a full brake rebuild. I called around and could not find one other local shop that could match the estimates. The scheduling of the appointment was very easy and the staff were very courteous and proactive in communicating the progress with my repair. Auto Tech informed me that I only needed the brake pads replaced, which was far less cost than getting the brakes completely rebuilt. I appreciated this because I have no vehicle repair knowledge and am at the mercy of the auto shops when it comes to what needs to be done with my car. Auto Tech has gained my confidence and future business.
Ive been a faithful customer of Auto Tech since I first moved to the area for college in 2008. When my battery died at a gas station just before a long drive home for Christmas, I asked the tow truck to take me to the nearest open shop, and thank god it was Auto Tech.My faithful 97 Grand Marquis, who finally had her last ride in 2016, had a lot of troubles over the years, and the friendly staff at Auto Tech always worked with me to get her fixed up as quickly as possible, and always always always worked with me when an unexpected and costly repair caught me in a tough financial spot (which was often, first as a broke college student, and then as an underpaid graduate student).I cant thank Jeff and his crew enough for the timely, friendly, and accommodating service theyve provided over the years. They have my business until I no longer call Lansing home.
I would not just say 5 out of 5 stars for no reason! I have taken my car in on last minute notice and they have always been able to help me without any problems! Having to get your car serviced is probably one of the most nerve racking things but not with Autotech. All of the staff are knowledgeable and happy to help even if its just an oil change or getting an opinion about a check engine soon light.
Very kind. Won’t make false claims or overcharge you. Would recommend
New location, but same good old helpful staff. Ive been taking my vehicle here for years, never disappointed.
Ive had multiple visits to East Lansing Auto Tech over the past few months and have had a fantastic experience every time. Theyve done little jobs like checking batteries and changing air filters free of charge, theyve always met their deadlines, and are unfailingly friendly and polite. They also do a great job of explaining their processes so Ive never felt misled. My most trusted garage in the Lansing area!
GREAT place. Noticed my car was acting weird so I scheduled a time to take it in. I was greeted with kindness when I dropped my car off in the morning and when I went to pick it up in the evening. I wholeheartedly appreciate the time each employee took to explain to me what was wrong with my car. I was initially nervous having to take my car in for maintenance because I know nothing about cars which some mechanics get annoyed with and brush you off as a naive girl. Never did I feel this way and Im very glad I took my car to Auto Tech. Jeff was great and very kind with me. Definitely will be back if I ever need more work done. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience at this place. My car had work done here several times. Brakes, window motors, oil changes, tire rotations, ect. With my car, the unexpected always happen at a time that I couldnt afford it to financially. But this place have great prices for the parts and labor. The customer service is always great and they get your car in and out in a timely fashion. Thats why I keep coming back. I Definitely RECOMMEND Auto Tech!
My girlfriend was having some body work done here after someone hit her in a parking lot and drove off. These guys not only gave her the lowest quote for what she needed done out of all the body shops in Lansing, but also paid half of her deductible on top of that.I drove my girlfriend to pick up her car after they were done - it looked flawless. In addition, I had a quick question about an air filter replacement as I was going to try to do it myself (I know nothing about cars), and the employee at the front desk pulled my car into the garage and replaced it on the spot free of charge. After being totally ripped off by multiple other car shops in Lansing, I will be giving these guys all my business from now on. Cant beat em.
Extremely thankful for these awesome mechanics. Not only did they work to fit me in, despite their busy schedule, they even gave me a large discount. They were patient with me and explained everything to me and even showed me what was wrong with my car when I asked. I would recommend this place to any friend!
Overall, service was good. Price was fair, and any delays were due to the need to source parts from other places. One thing to note is that this shop is right next to another shop - East Lansing Auto Pros. I accidentally brought an estimate from the other shop into East Lansing Auto Tech thinking it was all one shop. While this was my fault, I do wish Auto Tech had noted that this wasnt their estimate when I was dropping the car off; they could have easily said that they would beat it and taken my business. It felt a little misleading. Otherwise, good shop.
I have been to Autotech several times as a student at MSU. Jeff is probably the friendliest guy you could ever meet and more than willing to help you out as much as possible. Always got wonderful service and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend you bring your vehicles here for maintenance and repair - they are great!
My husband and I have been there several times (unfortunately!) in the last year and a half and we always get great service. They always have the lowest prices for anything weve needed (brakes, calipers, alternator, wheel alignment, & more) and we definitely recommend them to others!
2007 Honda CRV, ..getting ready to turn 345,000 miles and working towards 400,000. This is much of a celebration for them was it is for me. Ive been taking my Honda, and other vehicles, to Auto Tech from day one for any and all repairs. Their service is outstanding, more than fair, and extremely reliable. They wont sell you anything that you dont need and willing to work with you on any issues that might come along. If you think that you have had a bad experience at Auto Tech, I very strongly suggest that you return and give them another opportunity to help you with you dissatisfaction.
Great guys, and great work! Had to get a rack-and-pinion changed out. The first replacement part had a defect and they immediately replaced the replacement. Part and work have a 12 month guarantee, cant beat it for the price I got! Highly recommend this shop!
I had a problem with my Jeep Hood and put off taking it in anywhere for the longest time because I thought it would be a expensive and long fix. I finally made time to have it looked at and brought it here and they took time out of a busy Friday to take a look a look at my Jeep. After looking at it, they diagnosed the problem and told me it would be much faster than I thought, then they fixed the problem and got me in and out very very quickly for a much lower price than I anticipated. They were incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me some tips to help prevent the problem that arose with my car!
Auto Techs team is great. They are professional, friendly, and are have always kept my best interest in mind. I recommend using them if you are having work done in the area, as I have never been disappointed. Their massage chair in the lobby while waiting is pretty awesome as well
Brought my car in for an A/C issue which they said would take 2-4 hours. The Neanderthal at the front desk couldn’t figure out how to reach me via phone so they ended up keeping my car over night without any form of notice. Then, once I picked up my car, after I refused their offer to dig around my car at an hourly rate with no prospect of diagnosing the issue, they returned my car to me in worse off condition than when I delivered it. Not only did the A/C not work, but none of my steering wheel functions work (horn, cruise control function, radio controls). When the issue was addressed they moved me to the back of the line with no guarantee of any quality customer service or hope of addressing their error today. Completely incompetent crew at this shop who don’t deserve your business.
Been going here for years. On several occasions I’ve gotten second opinions from them after the dealership came back with an outrageous “problem” or repair estimate, and they’ve diagnosed something much cheaper (wiring versus a new fuel pump) or the same diagnosis with a drastically cheaper estimate. When I brought my F-150 in for a spark plug change (which Courtesy had charged more than twice their estimate years before when I’d first had them changed), they showed me the old plugs, and wouldn’t you know it: Courtesy had only replaced the 4 bad plugs and left the others. Of course they charged me for a full swap. This shop won’t rip you off loke the dealerships, and they’re fantastic with maintaining older vehicles. Check them out if you need a new mechanic, or next time you get an estimate that seems fishy. They’ll treat you right.
On a slow Wednesday afternoon, they took my car right in. My trunk hadnt been latching- they took it all apart and straightened the misalignment quickly and cheaply. Plus the massage chair in the waiting room was COMFY. Ill be back.
Awesome people!! They do great work. I thought my car was going to the junkyard. Nope. Lol
Here is the story, I gave my car to auto tech for full body paint job, the deal was $3500 and a work expand of 1 week. But after a week, the job wasnt done because the paint wasnt good, and needed to repaint, then they charged me $3000 to buy new paint. I didnt want to, but wanted to get my car back ASAP, I paid. Another week after, the car was still not finished, so I went to the shop the check the process, but there was nobody for us, the garage was locked, I didnt even see my car. So I called them, I was very angry, and they apologized and promised to give a discount of $500, and fill up my tank. I was so mad that I put some reviews online, guess what, they called me and asked to remove them! And the attitude was NOT good! Another week after that, I finally got my car back. Since they promised to give me discounts, I went to do a spoiler installation there, after the should-be-finished-in-a-hour-but-took-two-days job was done, they suddenly asked me to clear the balance of $500!! Because they thought they were losing money!!Plus, in the whole process, the communication was so poor, I made most of the calls to ask what was going on with my car. I said about twice in my call that Maybe I should call police or consult with a lawyer, they were like, you go ahead and do that, I dont care! Nobody threatens me like that! Well, if they have done nothing wrong, why would calling police considered a threat? I talked to a lawyer today, it was a shame that I wasnt prepared for a legal case and didnt have enough paperwork which they should provide. So I had no choice but to pay that $500, because I cant let them keep my car any longer, though it has been another 4 days since everything was done on my car. Anyway, this may be the worst experience since I went to college. (Hope they dont call me and ask me to remove this review this time)
It took them 3 hours and $100 to change three bolts on exhaust pipe. When asked to provide itemized receipt mumbled about cost of acetylene tank - really poor English.Avoid these people at all cost.I am sure they post absolutely awesome reviews for themselves.
We have had incredible service with the East Lansing Auto Tech. Ryan does phenomenal customer service. We trust them, and have always felt they have dealt honestly with us. They replaced our van brakes a few months ago. The brakes squeaked for several months afterwards, and Ryan replaced them for us at no charge. We recommend this place to everyone in Lansing we know!
Brought my car in for an alignment and apparently they have to send it out elsewhere for that service. They didnt mention that on the phone but whatever no big deal. He puts my car up on the lift and a few minutes later comes into the waiting area and tells me I need two new tie rods. I suspected that I was being lied to so the next day I took my car into a shop in Lansing where a buddy of mine works. He put it up on the lift and said I absolutely did not need new tie rods. I guess that they probably stood to make little to no money on the alignment so they were trying to find a way to gouge me a little bit elsewhere. The stupidest thing about it is what a shortsighted move it was on their part. I live pretty close to the shop and I was a potential lifelong customer and instead Ill never go back over $160
A while back I had a minor windshield wiper issue and came here to have it fixed. They replaced the necessary part. Shortly thereafter that part broke down. Despite being a new part installed by them just recently, they made me pay for the replacement. Ive sinced moved away and had the same issue again. A competent repair shop just showed me the damage done by incompetent, rushed installation on both occasions. Not only were their repairs more harmful to my vehicle then helpful, their service was abrasive and rude. I had posted a negative review when their first repair job proved to be carelessly performed. When I tried to have the part replaced they accosted me in their main lobby with rude, offensive remarks and demanded I remove the review before they fixed it. I did, and was still charged exorbitantly for the repair that was only necessary due to their incompetence.I am reinstating my bad review with more certainty than ever. NEVER give your business to this shady, underhanded organization.
A year ago I moved to East Lansing without having a solid mechanic to go to in the area. Over the winter, my 2000 Lincoln LS started overheating like crazy, so I took it to a couple of mechanics that are very close to this place. Both places told me I needed things done (including a water pump and a radiator flush), but neither fixed the problem. Eventually they told me that it was a blown head gasket (aka the car is glorified scrap). So a few months later I got a Volvo, but kept the Lincoln to see what I could get for it. When I took my Volvo in for an oil change at Auto Tech, I had a discussion with one of the guys there about the Lincoln situation, and he asked me to bring it in. Turns out, all the problem was was the car being bled correctly. These guys took care of it for me in a half hour at NO CHARGE. Its amazing how two other mechanics couldnt figure out how to bleed a coolant system correctly, could have saved me a lot of my money and time buying a second car. It just goes to show how hard it can be to find a trusty mechanic, thankfully I found these guys!
They failed to install locking washer on my u joint on driveshaft. Traveling on highway when it let go 4 days later. Aside from sheer terror of that, owner Jeff made me sue him to get it fixed. I won in court a year later. So unless you have a couple grand to waste, Do NOT use them. They do not accept responsibility for their work and Customer service is a lost concept here.
This shop is dirty and reminds me of someones back yard. The people did not seem to know what they were talking about and they failed to point out what the shop next door did.... that one of my tierods was on its last limb. Witch is a serious issue that can lead to my wheel falling sideways. I do not recommend this shop.
Very nice and helpful staff!! They went above and beyond for me. Thanks so much :))
Quoted me a repair for a condenser repair that was $300 less then everyone else. Decided to get the repair done, next day after the repair, found out that the A/C stopped working. Quoted the repair for the A/C to be $300 for the sensor to be replaced. A couple days later, A/C wasnt working again. I checked freeon levels and radiator fluid levels. No freeon which meant substantially large leak, which any reputable mechanic would find instantly the first time, and radiator fluid which I paid $20 for through the mechanic was almost empty, but no leaks. I brought this to Ryans attention and he said he would add more fluid and figure out why A/C once again wasnt working. 30mins later I got the car back, when I looked in the garage while it was being diagnosed no one was looking at it and it was just sitting there. No fluid was added. I was told the high pressure line had a leak that needed to be replaced and there was something blocking the vents preventing cold air to come out. That was a complete lie. Ryan said he would give me a call about parts and pricing, and I never received any more communication from him. The high pressure line was diagnosed else were, and was said to be the problem, nothing blocking vents. The $300 sensor that was replaced was most likely not damaged enough to needed to be replaced. The high pressure line is connected to the condenser that was originally replaced, and should have been said to be replaced the first time I came in. This place is a rip-off and will try to make you comeback to keep spending money on labor costs and unnecessary parts instead of fixing it correctly the first time. They have been reported.
My car, a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, has the stupidest, most ridiculous problems with it. One time, it wouldnt start because the wiring made it not recognize my key and it thought I was trying to steal it. Really?I called around East Lansing and these were the only guys who could figure out what was wrong. Recently, my fuel pump died while I was driving. I didnt even consider taking it somewhere else. They are professional, patient, understanding, and fast. I am very thankful for everything theyve done to ensure my horrible car remains alive and gets me from A to B.
Great service and great prices from super friendly, professional folks. When I need their services, they have always jumped through hoops for me to deliver top-rated, dependable work.
I taken my car to auto tech in east Lansing I had the best service. My car was repaired they did a great job and fix my car I recommend everyone to go there will be pay less than everyone else
My experience as a first time user of AutoTech Complete Auto Repair of E. Lansing was unusually impressive, when compared to most of my experience with auto repair shops. I had requested an estimate to eventually send to my auto insurance company related to a rear end collision I thought may have affected the stereo equipment. After an informal failed appointment, I returned two days after and talked to Jeff who without any protocol took my 2006 Audi A6 Quattro Avant to check the Bose Stereo system which, among other ECM (electronic control module) alarm nightmare, was not showing in the Multi Media Interface on the dash. After nearly 40 minutes of detailed code scanning and other checks, Jeff came back with a list of code problems and, instead of trying to fudge a repair schedule which would have run a lot of money plus some embedded Audi expensive fees associated with VIN programming on the new part/software, he honestly recommended me to go to an Audi dealer to deal directly with them. According to an extensive Google research I did, they are those who detain tight control of a very shady scheme of software version upgrades and expiration, in addition to seemingly generated alarms that dont correspond to problems found during your experience. The stereo and radio stopped running at random, as reported by users all over the Internet, who say it goes away when the MMI software is upgradedAnd you know what? Jeff gave me a copy of that report free of charge. No dollar figures were presented, since he assumed I was not going to do the repair there.Besides, Jeff demonstrated a lot of passion to deal with imports and about his own imported vehicle.
I was visiting Lansing from Grand Rapids and went to Meijer to pick up a few things when the latch on my drivers door decided not to work. I bought some WD-40 and a screwdriver and monkeyed with the latch for a good half hour before realizing there was nothing I was going to be able to do to get the door to latch on my own. I succumbed and googled nearby car repair locations and drove down Grand River Ave with a death grip on my door. I left my car with the guys at Auto Tech and they called me within an hour to let me know that they had gotten the door to close and that it would be free of charge. I truly expected to be at least $50 poorer from the whole ordeal and it floored me that they took the time to help me out when I was in such a pinch. I would highly recommend Auto Tech to anyone looking for good, honest car repairmen.
These guys did an excellent job fixing the problem with my right tire rod. I will go back to these guys for future issues with my car. I frequently recommend them to my friends and family.
BEWARE....place ripped me off and charged me 350$ for diagnosis after I caught them lieing about parts ordered and repairs my car needed. owner knows the manager robbed me and refuses to do anything and hangs phone up on me. they said they ordered a new head for my motor from mercedes of bloomfiekd hills. I called and verified they never ordered anything. it was a elabprate $1500 scam saying my head was warped on my engine. mercedes advised me to get my car back. that when they extorted us out of $350. every peron here is dishonest from the owner down beware. filed with attorney general and b.b.b. and owener does not care...filed ripp off report online also.
I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated with this place. I needed the heat fixed in my car and this place had pretty good reviews on google and the owner said hed look at it for free and was nice so I had it fixed here. As it turns out, he may not have fixed it and he may have damaged some other parts in my car. He had horrible customer service; he was nice, but he did not call me about how my car was doing (as he said he would), and he took a ridiculously long time and did not seem to act like my time was a priority at all. When I first had him look at it he said it would take him one afternoon to fix it and I could pick it up the same day, but apparently he didnt have the right parts and it ended up taking longer (which is fine, I understand that sometimes things come up) but he never called me to tell me that. I ended up calling at the end of the business day on a Friday to ask if it was ready and he told me what happened and said I could pick it up on Monday. On Monday I didnt hear from him and called him Tuesday afternoon to see if it was ready and he said it was so I stopped by to pick it up. When I got there I tried the heat but it was blowing out freezing air and it worked better when it was broken. I went in and talked to him and was told that maybe there was an air bubble in the line and that’s why it wasn’t working but he could fix that and it would take no more than a half hour. I had to leave but came back to pick it up 2 hours later and it still wasnt done. I had to sit there for another 45 mins after closing time before it was done; he claimed that it was a really big air bubble. He also told me that if my heat wasn’t working later that there still might be air bubbles and that I could bring it back and he’d fix it. Supposedly he fixed the heat and coolant problem I had by replacing my thermostat, the tubing to the thermostat and added $20 of coolant (if you’ve ever bought coolant it’s about 3 bucks at Meijer for a gallon or two, I’ve bought a lot and 20 is ridiculous), and finally the coolant and check-engine lights turned off. Now less than two weeks later, my heat isn’t working so well, both lights are back on, and I’m out $340. $200 of which was labor.I personally don’t know much about cars but I was talking to a mechanic that I trust and they said a lot of what he told me wasn’t even true and that he could have/may have damaged my car. Despite how much I paid I decided it wasn’t worth it to take it back to him and get him to fix it with the money I paid him already, and instead decided to take it someplace else. My advice: save yourself the trouble and the money, just take it somewhere else.
Best service Ive experienced anywhere. They are wonderful.
Our 2004 3.5L Concorde with just over 100k miles blew a head gasket and needed to be replaced. We got the car repaired here. That was that a mistake. Before the head gasket issue, there were no other issues with the vehicle. After $2000, we got the car back fixed, it had many issues. Check engine light always on, the AC did not work, and the car over heated easily. We took the car back about the AC and check engine light. They checked the error code and its an issue with the thermostat. We had them replace the thermostat for free, but it did not fix the check engine light. We were told this is now normal to have the light always on, and wanted to charge us to fix the AC. We declined the AC repair since we were fed up with their sub-par service. We then drove back to our hometown in Traverse City and had the AC fixed for WAY less than they wanted to charge. This was in the summer of 2012. Now in 2014, our car would no longer run correctly, it would stall out and run very rough. We since moved back to Traverse City where I know great mechanics. Turns out that AutoTech put in the thermostat backwards! Guess what AutoTech, when the check engine light is on, its not normal. Because the thermostat was in backwards for almost two years, it basically ruined the engine, and was told it could be a bad head gasket! WTF! We traded in the car for a new one from a dealer. AutoTech basically ruined our car and took thousands of dollars from us. I would not trust these guys with anything more than basic maintenance for your car.
Corey brought a vehicle in for an alignment, left it for 5 days ignored multiple calls to pick their customers car up. After he was told that the frame was bent beyond specifications, he complained and threatened to write bad reviews on google if we charged for our work authorized. Our tech worked on this vehicle for almost an hour. It is not our fault that they cannot give us a alignable car. Then he got 5 friends to write lies about us in the form of google reivews. I ask you, does this sound like someone that you want to do business with. What if there is a warranty issue or even a problem. This business has shown that they are not to be trusted.
I had a great experience at Auto Tech. The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. I definitely recommend Auto Tech!
Unprofessional to say the least. I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I took my car in to have some body work done. I also needed my drl light fixed. I told them this three times ( when I called to make the appt, when I dropped the car off, and when they called with the price). The light was not fixed. I called back to set another appt., it was never mentioned to me that it would be a several hour job til I arrived ( I live in downtown Lansing, so this is not a short commute). I made a new appt. it was also never mentioned that this would be a part they had to order. So again I drove out there, dropped the car off just to get a call saying they would have to order the part and they would call me Monday ( this day was Saturday). It is now a week after they said they would call. I never received a call, and I will be going somewhere else to pay for the same work again!!!!😡😡😡😐😐😐😡😡😡😡
This is were Ive gotten my oil changed, since coming up to school in East Lansing, and they also helped when my alternator went out as well. Extremely helpful guys out here, would definitely recommend it to friends
Auto Tech saved me more than $300 on a brake job compared to two other quotes that I received from competitors in the area! Being I was from out of town and desperate for repair, it was great to find a place that was honest and had people that went beyond the normal call of duty to get me rolling again!
Great service, honest work for best price in town. Im bummed Im moving away, its hard to find reliable shops like this!
These guys know what theyre doing, great service every time I have car issues, and best prices in town!
This place just ripped my senior mother off on a break job. The car needed pads, The asshat insisted the car needed calipers and pads. The car didnt need calipers. That was a straight up lie, and replacing parts that were still good. I havent had a chance to pull the wheels and see if in fact there are even new calipers on the car. This is the kind of garbage that should make business men Leary about even showing up at their own shop tomorrow.
There was a scheduling error, but I called and spoke with Jeff who was very helpful and professional.
On September 2nd at about 10:00am, I took my car in to have a medium sized dent taken out of my front left fender. They told me the cost was going to be around $300. Other places I took my car to were estimating the cost would be around $600 to $700. I thought I found a great deal on getting my dent removed. However, I was sadly mistaken. They initially told me my car would be fixed within three to five business days. So on September 6th, I called Auto Tech inquiring about the status of my car. They told me it would be done in a few more days. I called again on September 9th and was put on hold. Then I was told that I would be called back in 15 minutes. I was never given a call back. Two hours later I called back and asked about the status of my car. They told me they would need to call their guy and let me know later. I called again three hours later and was told that my car would be done by the end of the day. The following day, September 10th, I called again and was told my car was not yet done. I was told my car would be done in one or two days. It was at this point I went to see a lawyer to check out my options and my rights. She recommended that I simply just go there and take my car back. Thus, on September 11th, I went to Auto Tech to pick up my car. I went in and asked for my car back. It was not there. I asked where my car was, and the self-proclaimed manager told me he didnt know. They did not know where my car was! They had no name or address of the business that they took my car to!! I asked if they could show me on a map how to get to my car. They pointed to an intersection of Mt. Hope and Pennsylvania and said it was around there. My friend took me to the intersection where we looked for the body shop. To no avail were we able to find the body shop. We went back to Auto Tech and called the police. The officer went in and asked the whereabouts of my car. The, self proclaimed manager, stated to the officer no work had been done to my car and that they could lead me to my car if I followed them. So my friend and I followed this guy from Auto Tech out to Jolly and Pennsylvania. My car was safely returned to me, and I was left with a horrible experience from Auto Tech. Please do not take your car to Auto Tech. They consistently lied to me every time I wanted a status update on my car. They lied straight to my face when I asked for my car back. The only time they told the truth was when I called in a police officer. They were extremely disorganized and irresponsible in every step of our interaction. This is the epitome of shady business. Please be advised to never take your car to Auto Tech.
The worst shop I have ever visited. I had a switch problem, one mechanic took half an hour to fix it without any parts changed. The manager Ryan asked for $200. I was shocked, he THREATENED me to returned everything back if I was not willing to pay so much. I was able to pay 130 after hassling.
