One stop shop helpful employees great selection

We purchased new replacement windows from the Oklahoma City location in late April/early May of 2020. Here we are, March 3, 2021...still missing two screens and waiting on return calls for bad seals on brand new windows. I have left multiple messages, emails, requests and barely get any acknowledgment. Once I get a hold of somebody, they act like they want to help and say their “sorry’s” and claim they will check into the matter BUT I GET ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW UPS. I call and leave messages for confirmations on day/time that someone will be out to inspect faulty seals and do not receive a single confirmation call. I leave messages for someone to call me back from dispatch to reschedule since we ended up missing our unconfirmed appointment time and have yet to receive a call. HOW ARE YOU STILL IN BUSINESS IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS IN EVERY DEPARTMENT?!

Picked up 11 fence panels Saturday & the accessories. Inside guys helped and are very knowledgeable. Went to the yard to load and it was a breeze. Young guy on fork lift took care of us & basically did all.

Lots of selection. Market average pricing. Friendly people.

I ordered doors and windows from the okc location. They were nice when I made my order, but were rude and unhelpful when picking it up. They got my order wrong and acted like they were doing me a favor when the fixed it. I called ahead and still had to wait because they they were completely unprepared when I got there. They had HOURS to prepare. I will never shop here again.

Friendly, helpful, will definitely go again. Better pricing and more lumber choices than big name hardware stores.

Another great purchase and interaction with Forest. Ive ordered doors (about 20 now) with them and am pleased with how professional and efficient they are. I do not have enough good things to say about them and recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality products and service.

Very BAD experience there, I was directed away from front counter to a counter no one was at. Several employees walked by mewithout acknowledging me. And when one finally did, he was rude and hateful and didnt want to help me, tried to send me back to the front counter who sent me away to begin with. I almost felt like i was being discriminated against. After the rude and HATEFUL employee, i just walked out. Had PLENTY of $$ to spend but i guess they do enough business EVERYBODY doesnt matter to them and they dont care if some customers take their business else where. So thats exactly what I did and spent A LOT of $$ on materials for a big project. THE PLACE I TOOK MY BUSINESS TO was kind, courteous and very helpful, What a business should be. I wont/wouldnt recommend Forest to ANYONE.

Materials were good shape and strait lumber, yard hands were a little slow to know and took an hour and a half to load up but overall not bad. Normans location is a little faster on locating mats.

I did a walk through just to see what they had and was impressed. They carry a lot of things that Lowes and Home Depot doesnt carry. The only issue I came across was I never saw a price list for lumber. The little guy can budget his project off Lowes/Home Depot website but not Forest or at the store or in their yard for that matter. The selection for lumber was well over double what the others had to offer and quality of what I looked at wasnt even close. You go to those others and 1/2 the selection its warped beyond use! Not at Forest. I didnt see a single warped piece!Update the website with pictures and prices or atleast a downloadable PDF of prices.

Easy to deal with they have everything I need in the staffs pretty knowledgeable.

This is Jack Curran, owner and operator of PergolaJack. I have been dealing with Forrest building materials for the past 20 years exclusively. Their front counter staff Brian, Jose, and Armando have always provided exceptional service to the point where if I have a unique item request, they do everything in their power to source it for me. Teddy in the trim shop is excellent with unique trim request and custom corbels. Forrest has always gone above and beyond with their professionalism and consistently providing outstanding service.

We ordered a door for our back patio from Forest and were told that we would have the door in two weeks. Its now been more than 6 weeks and we still dont have what we paid to have received a month ago now. Not a special, custom door. Just a door that we selected from their display showroom, for a regular sized door, that we sat at the desk with them and ordered. And we were flatly lied to. Do not trust this company to deliver what you order, anywhere within the timeframe you are told. It has now been 3Xs as long as they assured us it would be. Buyer beware, this store has done absolutely zero to remedy their complete failure of customer service. They have taken our money and not delivered what we have paid for, while providing us with no assistance, apology or remedy whatsoever. It would be advisable to go ANYWHERE else for your construction needs....and to address Daniel Orona, below...NO, the customer experience is NOT very important to you as that (your complete lack of service) is the entire reasoning behind my post. I have called your phone and emailed your company on multiple occasions in regard to your companys lack of integrity and have received no help whatsoever, so simply posting a cut and paste response on here with a phone number to call isnt a remedy, it just further underscores the lack of and laziness toward customer service that your company perpetuates.

It took a while to get unloaded. I brought in hard wood lumber so thats why. Seemed really busy.Update:So apparently the above review was not worded correctly and a Mr Daniel Orona wasnt happy about it. Says that hes the owner and he took time out of his busy day to respond to this very simple review. I should clarify that I am a professional driver and any reviews authored by me are from that viewpoint. If I say a place is awful or awesome, its because Im actually honest about what I see and experience. This is a very successful business. They have a lot of customers Im sure. Im thankful for that. Im a fan of capitalism. Nevertheless, for a man of that caliber to defame a honest review simply proves my point that MOST places that receive goods could care less about what it takes to get it there. It was an absolute waste of my morning trying to get unloaded. Period. Does that mean that the average consumer shouldnt buy anything here? The consumer is the only one that can answer that question. Ill do my very best to not deliver here again. Not because of the waiting. But because this successful business man sitting at a desk decided to defame my ability to be honest and freely type a review to let other truck drivers know what they are probably in for when they grace the gate of this popular building material store. Now, on to the next one, maybe they will pay detention...

Bought fiberon decking from here 4K worth of materials, was not notified that they discontinued this color prior to purchase. Now im stuck from receiving a 15K check because I can no longer get this decking and we are a few boards short. Not happy about there service. All they said was sorry well look for some. Have reached out two more times and no responce.

Great employees especially the lumber dept. Jose, was extremely helpful along with Armando, when I needed help picking out the materials etc. for the fence being installed at my first home. As a first time homeowner and a female, going into a hardware/lumber business can be intimidating but they were VERY patient with me and happy to answer the numerous questions, concerns, etc. I had for them. Another AMAZING aspect was that they delivered the lumber materials I purchased ON TIME and unloaded the materials neatly. I didnt even realize it had been delivered until I received a phone call asking about my experience etc. GREAT JOB. Thanks again Jose and Armando for being so patient and friendly to me.

I work regularly with their pro-desk and they are always very helpful. Their pricing is better than most places in the area and they can get anything you need. Theyre great if you need help putting together a material list, just give them the scope of your project and theyll figure it out and bid it.

Horrible customer service. Our remodeling company recently used their service for a building project. Sorting through their smooth 2 x 4 x 14 we only found awful quality pieces of wood. Couldnt make our full purchase out of 20+ boards because they were all in bad condition (crooked, rough, etc.). We make a phone call to their competitor and they suggest using cedar creek which is under the same outfit as Forest. Upon arriving at cedar creek they tell us we have to have a ticket from Forest in order to pick up any wood. Now why in the hell didnt forest suggest this to us? We call forest and the guy tells us hes not a mind reader. I literally laughed and said when I just came in to purchase an order and it couldnt be completed why didnt you offer a suggestion oh say as in, we should be able to complete your order at our other location or we can put in a order for your request. Obviously if Im looking for the material and you guys couldnt complete it, why not make a suggestion as in how to. Thats what separates companies from good and awful customer service. Time is money and this was a waste. This is not our first go around with this company and we will definitely start looking to use a competitor for lumber supplies.

Do not do business with this company. I purchased a front door on our new home from Forrest. It was an upgrade door and we paid extra. After only 1 1/2 years, the door started to split at the bottom in two places. Forrest sent a rep by to look at it and they said the door was only guaranteed for 1 yr. The front door on our other home was over 15 years old and in good shape when we sold the house. I would think a door would last at least 5 to 10 years before it started showing wear. They offered no solution or help.

I called up there six times and was hung up on 5/6 of them. When I finally got ahold of someone I brought it to his attention that this had occurred and he informed me that they were very busy in the store today. I asked if customers normally were hung up on when they were busy and he changed the subject by asking me what I was calling for. Im disappointed and will perhaps reconsider calling so many times and instead call a different lumber yard.

Criminally withholding repayment of money that was used for materials that were never picked up or delivered from their yard. They will rob you if they can!

This use to be a nice and clean place to buy lumber now is no word to describe this

For deliveries they get you in and out. Forklift guy is a little ruff with the side of your trailer but otherwise good place

Extremely rude employees. Dont like what you Do? Move on. Customer service is critical to business making money. I left and went elsewhere. Bearded guy at the counter acted like I was interrupting his private time. Rude.

Customer service doesnt exist. They are busy and hate having to stop what they are doing to talk to a customer. Might make good on their delivery schedule or not but dont expect much.

Best place in okc for lumber, you will get your bang for your buck here and quality wood for the most part.

I had a very unfortunate experience with Forest Lumber in Norman.I ordered a very large Glulam beam that they in turn special ordered from someone else (completely fine). I ordered it such that it would arrive a week earlier than I really needed it (2 weeks before the date the contractors were scheduled to use the beam). The beam arrived after a week, but alas, I was told it was broken and cracked in shipping, and that they would have to order another.The second beam was to arrive a week later (on a Wednesday). Fortunately, I already got my contractor to agree to move the work date back one day (to Thursday). The beam didnt arrive on that Wednesday at Forest. I got a call saying it would be in some time Thursday, and they would get it shipped out as soon as they got it.So I have my guys start prepping Thursday morning. Talk to Forest Lumber at 9:30ish. They say that it should be in their warehouse around noon, and to expect the beam around 12:30. Then, I get a call at 11:30 saying that its not going to arrive until around 2-2:30. Finally, at 4:30pm, the beam arrives. I had guys sitting on their hands all day waiting for this thing. They were pissed too. They were all strung along by this company. They lost a lot of money due to the delays of Forest Lumber.Despite repeated assurances that the beam would arrive earlier in the day, and my best efforts to even have it delivered a week early, Forest was still behind. Why was it not delivered at noon when they got it? Because I was last on the list. Im not a big name contractor; Im just an individual homeowner. So I got bumped, even though they were already a week-and-a-day behind on my delivery.When asked how they could make it right with me, I was offered a discount on future purchases. No refund on my delivery charge. No nothing. I was told [sic] it is what it is, and that there is nothing that they could do.The kid at the front desk was very helpful. It wasnt his fault that the management and schedulers blatantly have no respect for the individual homeowner. The beam is actually in great shape. But I couldve ordered through another company, who wouldve gotten the beam from the same builder in the first place, and probably gotten it on (or ahead of) time. My home is 2 miles away from Forest Lumber. They couldve delivered my lumber in 15 minutes, or on the way to another site. Instead, I had to wait all day.Theres no owners name listed on the website. Theres no way to let them know how badly they represented themselves as a business. I wouldve preferred to go that route. But since they dont provide any way for me to express to them the catastrophe that was the delivery, this is the next best method.I will avoid Forest as much as possible.

Customer service was lacking. Bought a piece of black walnut that was clearly 5 in wide on average. The last few inches flared out to six inches. I asked them to take that into account when pricing out the board foot and they refused. I thought my ask was fair.

HORRIBLE PLACE!!I regret going to Forest Lumber.We are contractors that install fences. My client wanted an 8ft height fence installed. I needed 16 panels, I had called everywhere to get a fence this high and the only people that carried it in stock was forest lumber. When we get panels a lot of them had holes in the pickets, I was trying to sort them out however every panel had a least 3-4 holes in them. Our client after installation wanted the fence painted black and of course after doing so the holes came to life. After client called forest lumber they said, that we should not have installed the panels with holes.Its interesting to see that because of their faulty products they blame the little guy. And want to discredit out business name. After speaking with the Art (the manager) he said the only favor he could do was to send 25 pickets out because he went out to look at the fence himself.Hello Art, the job was already done! therefore it would have been in your best interest to uninstall the damaged pickets and reinstall them. Since after all Forest Lumber is the one that makes the panels there themselves and could have done at least that for our client to make it right. But yet again you show how unreliable you are to those of us that are homeowners and business owners.Those panels were $102/per panel-privacy fence, the least you could do is when making panels make sure they dont have holes in them, since you do oversee the work??? UNRELIABLE as well as UNPROFESSIONAL.For future readers, go elsewhere!!!! Use your money wisely, with better product than what Forest Lumber can provide. You might have to wait and pre order but you know that other companies will stand behind their product.cant rate with NO stars, so you only get the 1.

For years they have treated my right. Always helpful finding odd ball items and ordering them if they dont carry them in stock.

Best hardware store in OKC! Employees actually know what theyre talking about. They are very helpful whether you are looking for a particular item or need advice on the best tool, hardware, paint or solution for the job. You wont find yourself taking several trips while working on a project because they make sure you have everything you need the first time; the right size and the right amount of materials. Cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot with a better selection and higher quality merchandise and easy returns proces. As a small business owner, their prices allow me the best possible profit margins without passing the cost onto my clients. Quit the big box store nightmare and keep your money local!

Stopped by to shop for windows and flooring, rudest snobbiest people I have ever encountered. Forrest lumber will not get my money.

They have all the material your project needs at good prices. The New guys dont really know where much is Ive been using them for 5 yrs now.

I had a very good experience with these folks siding almost impossible to find they had it for me. I will use this company in the future for my masonry repairs Steven Byrd masonry repairs.

Horrible place with horrible customer service. They also have several complaints and lawsuits filed by previous employees in regards to unethical hiring practices, harboring illegal citizens, and workplace discrimination. Do not patronize this business! Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!
