Excellent service. We got everything for 150 people at a wedding. Very nice job to all involved. They were extremely helpful from day one. Highly recommend.
Good food and Mexican bread. Ran out of tamales by 5 but understandable. Sevice could be a little friendlier though.
Best tacos in town morning, day, and night. I stop here for breakfast and dinner sometimes and the staff and food are always amazing.
The servers here are really rude. Would rather go to the location on 18th street, The service is much better and the servers are much more welcoming
Ive been coming here for years and have NEVER had a bad experience. The tacos are always hot and delicious, the employees are always friendly, and the prices are affordable! If I could give them 10 stars, I would!
Great food, cute little market. The tacos are incredible
The best Mexican Market around. Every cut of meat is amazingly marinated and delicious. They also have the best handmade tortillas ive ever eaten. And the best place to get avocados.
Tasty and authentic specialty food. The tacos are wonderful and the prices are great. Definitely stop by for groceries and to sample the desserts. Fresh tortillas and mexican bread for the kids.
Good prices on produces and the food... it’s a HIT. The Barbacoa tacos were quite tasty. The meat was cooked, shall I say to perfection! Will be back 💯
I did enjoy my lunch with co-workers who encouraged me to try Mexican food.
Ok, its really more like 4.5 stars, but the food was so good I gave it the nod.Pros: The food at the cantina is excellent and fresh. They have a full service Mexican style butcher, and fresh baked goods and tortillas. I havent been around enough to really know, but the whole place is like an authentic Mexican market. Fresh Tripe and Menudo (sp?) and asada tortas on fresh baked buns. Dont anticipate it being intimidating; if you dont then it wont be. Most employees speak Spanish and English but are friendly and helpful. Its really more of a Mexican grocery store that also serves fresh food.Cons: The dining area isnt sparkling clean. Thats probably the biggest drawback. They also arent very Covid-conscious. Those two things in tandem arent very reassuring. Despite that though, give this place a try if youre on the fence. If you arent sure what to order, try the asada quesadilla or the pork tamale platter. Youll be glad you did.
Very nice place good Mexican food and gorgeous girls
The food is 5 star however. I had difficulty communicating today as very little English was understood if at all. They wont let you dress your to-go tacos with sauce or toppings. And you want to go. The girl preparing tacos neednt bother wearing a mask as was worn ineffectively. And not quite clean dinning area. That said I will go back.
Good Mexican food. Plenty of variety within dishes. Service is good.
An amazing store. They have every Mexican specialty you could want. An unparalleled meat market with everything you need to make bomb fajitas/tacos etc. And GIANT pork rinds! They have an amazing in store restaurant as well. Its worth a visit just to be immersed in a little culture different than the usual.
One of the best authentic Mexican food/taco spots. Must try!!!
Good tacos, you find Mexican products of all kinds
Love this place for taco Tuesday.
Great food at a fair price.
Fair prices on Goya and LaPreferida products. Plantains - green and yellow ripened!!
If youre looking for some true authentic Tacos you have to go by here. Always so fresh and some of the best homemade salsa to. I wish I knew there recipe. Not to mention the corn tortillas are great. Did I mention its cheap too. If youre out and about you have to try this place. Not to mention the restaurant next door has great fajitas. I like the no nonsense feel of this place.
Only place to get your tacos! They also sell a bomb array of other items. The meat dept is also great. Keep up the awesome service amd great food.
This is bussin bussin the mexican food was amazing
Quality use to be great. Over time the food and service went downhill. I got a piece of 3 leches cake and the milk tasted spoiled. My sister got flan and it didn’t have a flavor... just tasted like egg. Point is. Bonito use to be the spot here in Olathe, not anymore. 👎
Best tacos in town, no doubt. Love the carne asada. Service is efficient and quick. Love this place.
Good delicious Menudo ! ! !
Thee BEST tacos for a quick bite at a very reasonable price!
This is the best Mexican food in KC hands down!
Great little grocery store. Found the cooker I wanted for camping or just outdoor cooking. Tasty, tasty food!
Use Google translate to know what you are buying. Decent Hispanic food options found here! Clean store, helpful staff, organized.
This place is always good. Best tacos in olathe for sure.
Get your wallet ready for this place is very expensive..costumer service is ok
My favorite tacos in Kansas City!
This place is great! Amazing food and employees 😊
Dont go on taco Tuesday its more like taco rip off day and be careful when they ring you up because they try to over charge you especially when your buying mexican bread .
Always a fun and lively place to get spanish groceries
Came here and got some amazing tacos! Everything is authentic and their homemade salsa is the best! Paired it with a bottle of coke and it made the whole meal so delicious. THEN went to the other side where the sweets and pastries were. Collected a tray, yes a tray, full of delicious goodies and paid so little for them. Its an awesome place to get real Mexican food and bring joy to those who havent been yet. You should try it!!
If you need it, they have it...
They have great customer service and the food smells so good while I was waiting I seen this.😀
An interesting place to explore! I got there near closing so did not eat at the store, but got some pico to go & it was really good. My sister got fresh skirt steak from the meat department & ssid ssds he was very pleased with the quality. I look forward to taking my husband in to check it out!
Nice selection. organized.
Absolute best authentic tacos you can get. No doubt. The asada is amazing. Jose is super helpful and always has a smile.
Good flavor, fast service and good price. Nice ambiance and decor. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Then food all tastes really fresh and I saw them making their own tortillas in the back so it is really the food that earns this 5 star review. Free chips and salsa, plus a green salsa you can ask for. Overall I just had a great experience here and would recommend you try it out if you like fresh, flavorful Mexican food!
Good selections of food and meats. The hot food is great also, I enjoyed the pulled pork and beef cheek meat the best.
I get the plate meal for $11 carne asada they dont get skimpy its very good, comes rice and beans,
Great staff. Great food. Good selection of grocery items as well.
Great little store friendly people and found the marinade we couldnt find anywhere else!
Very clean and welcoming store specializing in Mexican items and food. I was very impressed by how clean and fresh the vegetables were. The store smelled wonderfully from the foods being cooked in the restaurant section of the store.I definitely be returning for the fresh tortillas!
Their tacos are DELICIOUS and ADDICTING. Staff is very kind and happy to help.. even if you dont speak a lick of Spanish. 😂 They have a little bit of everything there. This is my favorite when Im craving tacos! I would of posted a picture of the tacos but I ate them before I could pull my phone out. Also they give cut up limes, Verde sauce and a red sauce with their tacos. I love it!
This is by far the premier spot around KC to get authentic street tacos. To those of y’all complaining about poor customer service when y’all paying $1.79 a taco and $1 on Tuesday with the exception of specialty meats need to take your fancy a$$es back to paying $2.79 at the Taco Bell adjacent to the building 💯. Why with some of y’all does it have to be about color it’s 2020 🤦🏻♂️. Some people saying if you don’t speak Spanish and are white, and others saying they don’t like blacks. Y’all the problem 💯✌🏼
Great place to get the fixings for home cooked Mexican food. Super friendly people. Great spot for lunch at the cafe. Mexican baked good are delicious. Customers helped this Anglo get right stuff for home made tortillas.
Great tacos
Produce prices are good, hot food sold in there is going from bad to worse
I love Bonito for their street tacos and baked goods. The staff are always trying to get me to try something new. Call me tad shy on stepping out of the box on different types of tacos, but with a little push the staff are getting me out of the box. The baked goods it is look out, one of everything is my desire. Probably would have given place a five if they had an English translation of meats for the tacos; not a big deal. I keep coming back 🌶️ Update, my Spanish is not any better, but in mispronounced words, I got a hot dog street taco.🌭🌶️ Pretty good👍👍
We eat here pretty much every weekend because we love the food, but after today, we will be finding another Mexican store to go eat at. The customer service today was terrible. My boyfriend asked for house salsa to go, and the person behind the counter said check isle 1 and then next, pointing at the person behind him in line. You dont treat any customers like that, and if you are having a bad day, dont take it out on other people.
Great tacos
Good variety and great food, the employees speak English and helped well.
Pretty good store. Lots of spiced meats, ready for cooking. Good spices and canned staples. Pretty good stash of vegetables for Mexican dishes. And they sell Topo-Chico. Great taco bar, too.
The cashier at the grocery store was so nice even changing to English since my Spanish is awful. Ordered 13 tacos to go and two to dine in. The dine in ones were prepared much better with more meat. Bones in the carnitas so beware. Cookies from the bakery are huge and taste great. Love this place
Hot food is very expensive and they give you a very little amount of food for the price they changed.
Found metal particles in my asada tacos. Called and told them and they said i could come up and show them the pieces and they would replace the tacos aka WITH the same meet used before. Love this place but after that I’m never eating there again. EVER
I love Bonito! The taqueria is just the best! You know its good when you can find such a long line! I think it delicious and it is a great value! I almost always get the tacos and I love going on Tuesday and Friday for the reduced prices on the tacos! There is a great selection of food and the sauces are really tasty and fiery!
Didn’t honor their Taco Tuesday deal. Food was great but very pricey, when all over their website and store it promotes this special of 1$ tacos.
Some of the food is good, but watch out for the carnitas. We had them on taco Tuesday and it was mainly fat and gristle with little meat. Some of the worst tacos Ive had in awhile. Next time Ill have to try something different.
A great place. The staff was very welcoming & nice. If you dont speak Spanish fluently, thats okay. There is a mix of Spanish and English.
They sell their masks for a dollarThe meats are excellent but the prices are not welcoming at all
Good food at this place
The location on 18th Street is better, better prices better service. The girls that serve up the tacos here are rude as can be. Not to mention if you want pico you have to eat in. Ridiculous.
Hands down the best taco place in Johnson County. If you go for lunch on Taco Tuesdays, be prepared to stand in line. Happily, the line moves pretty quickly. Definitely a must try!
DO NOT BUY the Tres Leches cake. We bought a big sized almost $30 cake and then several days later found that the strawberries on it were rotting. I called and spoke with ‘Laura’ and she told me that if the strawberries where rotten the day I purchased the cake they would have refunded me. So sadly she could not refund me although only 6 days had passed since buying the cake. Very unfortunate.
We love getting pastries and tacos or tortas. The food is usually amazing. However anytime we ask for a torta the women get mad and dont make them very good, they literally throw everything in the middle and put 1 piece of tomato or 1 slice of avocado with barely any beans or cheese. They definitely make things better if you are Mexican and we have witnessed that Everytime we go in there, and unfortunately that is going to scare off a lot of people, I have heard this from multiple people!
This is the real deal. Bonito is not only a Mexican market/grocery it is an authentic Mexican restaurant. This is where I go to get away from the abundant tex-mex and American Mexican restaurants in KC. When I want street tacos like Ive had in Mexico this is my #1 choice. They serve at least 8-10 types of meats for their tacos and have plenty of toppings including cilantro, onion, fresh lime wedges, multiple fresh sauces etc. They do have traditional soups, tamales, rice and beans as well as other traditional Mexican food. Its important to reiterate that this is a totally authentic experience and this is why I frequently eat here. Its my number one taco jam in KC.
Street tacos are amazing and good value. Broad selection of meats. Helpful, but not required, if you can speak Spanish.
Great place for authentic Mexican. Wide variety of hot meals, groceries and meat counter. Must try. Outstanding!
I love street tacos! These are the best by far! I recommend the pastor (pork and pineapple) or discada (mixed meats). I love them with cilantro, onion and lime juice! Tuesdays and Fridays, they are only $1. Get them to go, as the seating isnt very comfortable.
Kmacho review- not best service but good was good. When sign indicated hiring servers as I entered, should have paid attention. Barkeeps were working their rears off
Taco salad was ok. Generally, prices were higher than other restaurants in the area which serve better food. Goes for margarita, too. Dining area is spacious, bright and clean.
Food was delicious and services great
Great food and a good place to pick up a specialty item or two as well. Employees treat Spanish speakers and English speakers respectfully. Service is generally prompt and cheerful although sometimes they run out of things.
Grocery store was good. Like their meat and bakery. Bakery is great. The food in the restaurant portion was really good.
Has just about every Hispanic culinary supply you could want. There is also a fast-food looking Mexican restaurant inside. Never ate there, looks fine though. Reminds me of Costco, only Mexican. Also, be sure to check out their fresh tortillas up front in the coolers (dont worry theyre HOT and supple.) Great bargain, cheap, fresh, delicious. Rare to find nowadays. Almost always busy too.
The food taste horrible the meat is over and undercooked and the tortillas arent even heated up and the service was dreadful the guy serving my tacos was getting mad because he had to make my tacos on top of that wiped his mouth with his hands. Never eating there again!
This place (the restaurant side) is so bad. How can you call this authentic Mexican food!! Im Mexican and just had a bite of my burrito and spit it out it was so gross. The salsa was bland, the rice was hard, the beans.... Yea super gross with no taste, the tortillas were OK. I told my husband as we walked to our car in the parking lot it tasted like the cheaply made this food with no flavor. Awful and not a real representation of true authentic Mexican food. More like slop. How miss leading.
This place is a hidden gem! It is an unassuming Mexican grocery store, but once you walk in you are greeted with the smell from the kitchen area. They serve excellent street tacos and their salsa bar is stocked with homemade salsas! If you order rice and beans with your meal, be prepared for some leftovers as they fill a plate full of both! I also believe the make their own tortillas (well, from the KCK location and shipped out to Olathe). Highly suggest swinging in for a bite to eat!
Came in for dollar tacos and was first told it was Asada only, then that it was 5 different meats that the lady pointed at, but didnt identify any of. Attempted to order 12 Asada tacos and was told it was going to be $1.79 each, was then told at the register they were $2.29 each which is what I ended up being charged. The older woman making tortillas was terribly rude from the start. There were two other women working as well but when asked anything would just reply I dont know and the one actually walked off multiple times while I was trying to speak to her. Our 12 Asada tacos ended up being 5 tacos of 3 meats, (we didnt make this call the lady did) the woman making them didnt seem to care about anything other than throwing them together and moving on to the next person. Upon opening the bag we found loose limes bouncing around the bag and a sauce container that was split open. Extremely poor customer service and the simple fact the price changed three times for the same thing from order to paying is a joke. Finding great tacos is something we enjoy, but this place isnt worth it.
This will become a regular Olathe stop. Authentic Mexican. The tomales are incredible!
The food is good, but the workers can be extremely rude! They dont give you enough time to tell them what you want. I dont speak Spanish so I am a little slow, but they dont care sometimes. $1 tacos on Tuesday, and they are good!!!!
Hands down best street tacos ever. If you want some real mexican food this is the place to go. Dont be turned away by the cafeteria setup, thats part of the experience.
Great food served here
