I don’t make it to Omaha very often. I live two hours away. When I have the time, my husband and I visit friends in Omaha, and always drive through the old market. I love it when we do this! I talked our friends into stopping at the candy shop recently. It had been a couple of years since I’ve been there, but I loved my experience, and wanted some of your fabulous fudge! When I got to the door, there were customers walking out of the store. As I reached to open the door, the employee locked it and turned the closed sign around, right in my face!? I told her it would only take two minutes, and that I was from out of town. She said no, the registers were already counted down!? Now, I work in retail management! And you just had customers leaving your store. You must have employees with fantastic register counting abilities!? I don’t mean to be sarcastic, I really don’t! But I was quite upset at the blatant lie thrown in my face! I do realize it was five minutes after closing. Five minutes!? If my employees refused a customer, they know, they would be in trouble with me! I am so upset, that I don’t know if I would ever come back to this store, I’m sorry!?

Classic old time Candy Shoppe experience. Not a large location but has a great variety. My daughter loved it.

Visiting from Dallas and stopped by this gem! Chocolate was incredible….specifically the best seller mud pies. The young lady that helped us was knowledgeable as well.

An excellent example of a small home town candy shop. There is a limited stock of old fashioned style packaged candies, but the main event is the glass cases filled with chocolate treats made on site.They have a modern point-of-sale system that makes purchases easy and the staff are exceedingly friendly.

When you walk in you feel like you jumped back in time. The staff is so kind. When my two small children and I walked in we were greated with Why hello there! I have something here for you! And he so kindly walked my children over to a wall of candy with a smile. They have so much candy and homemade fudge and taffy and so on so forth! This is the best chocolate in Omaha, for sure. They have a great selection, and every piece is delicious. Also, delicious is an understatement. The fudge is amazing too. It is also very reasonably priced for how high quality the chocolate is. The staff is always friendly and it’s a nice place to stop in for dessert. I’d recommend to anyone who likes chocolate (and who doesn’t?) to stop in and try OMCS.

Each time were in the area, we make it a point to stop in. Seriously, the best popcorn! Super friendly, helpful staff. Id like to see more focus on house made items...like peanut brittle, candied apples, popcorn balls, maybe candied bacon and less novelity items but its still a great shop.

Love this place. Half the store is a mix of classic and modern packaged candy, but everything inside the display case (fudge, truffles, chocolate candies) is hand made in the shop. You can tell this pretty quickly because you can usually see one of the confectioners at work.Theres a markup on the branded candy, but the chocolates are very reasonably priced and you can buy them individually.Our faves are: the peanut butter fluff cups, the pecan or and almond turtles, the chocolate covered caramels and the truffles.

Old Market Candy Shop! My favorite part of Omaha! I was in town for a family wedding and Google, in its infinite wisdom, led me to The Old Market. First stop was the Candy Shop.The most warming, honest, greeting Ive ever received upon walking into a business. They truly put the customer first and there care is immediately apparent. Your first step in feels like childhood, and youre holding a golden ticket.Beautiful storefront inside and out. The selection is vast and the taste is purely unmatched in the chocolate/fudge business.The owner, Mike, was happy to share his story and give us background on the history of the establishment. Mike spoke with pride in his business, and rightfully so, as each item we purchased we savored, immensely.If you only have time for one stop at The Old Market, make it this place!

Neat little candy shop located in the heart of the The Old Market. If you are into candy and or have small children, this is a place you might want to visit. Nostalgic candy as well.Very small shop so hopefully it wont be crowded if you stop in... Just be patient and wait your turn!

Always a wonderful experience we try and visit the store every time we are in Omaha. Everyone should take their kids to the Candy Shop its a magical experience for them and a little nostalgic for moms and dads!I have used them for company gifts too - They mailed a huge box of fudge gift packages across the state for me at Christmas. The gifts were a huge hit and something unique that no one else was doing.

This is an update to a previous bad customer service experience by Robert Harris. I thought it only fair to commend the owner(s)/management for correcting the problem and redeeming themselves the next day and give a 5-star rating. At least it will average out the 1-star. We were promptly greeted when we walked in the door and offered free candy when we identified ourselves. One girl that was there the night before turned beat red LOL. Thank you, you have a nice shop and a great product. We shall return. :-)
