Nice place to stop in for a coffee and a pastry. Cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff, I could spend hours in here hanging out, sipping coffee and reading a good book

I have been here a couple times now. The place has a great staff & wide selection of coffees & snacks. The shop itself is quite large and has ample seating. Lots of board games, tables & space for books, laptops etc. On any trip in you can observe numerous college kids sipping coffee & doing homework etc. I personally enjoyed the view out front and the people watching from it. Downtown Omaha has no shortage of interesting personalities on display. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop if youre in the area. My only complaint would be the back in, parking out front. Its caused me to skip this place and go to another nearby coffee shop on more then one occasion.

Come for the momos (Tibetan dumplings) on Wednesdays and Saturdays (11:30-1:30)! They’re delicious! The spices are perfect and getting the blend of the spicy sauces gives you a kick but doesn’t leave you sweating. I also recommend the Himalayan chai. The coffee is also quite strong and delicious.

This place was the best part of my Omaha trip. The vibe is super chill and cozy. The staff were super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. I happened to be in town on a Wednesday so, of course, I had to try the momos for the first time. They were absolutely delicious. The filling was very well seasoned and the size were huge so I was stuffed after 8 of them. The best part though was the spicy sauce. I would have been glad to just buy the sauce in a bottle to put on everything. I also had a smoothie and some Himalayan soup. All good, all worth the treck in the snow. Wish we had one in Atlanta.

A little gem in downtown Omaha. Order the Momos, a Himalayan dumpling, you will NOT be disappointed. Iced Americano was excellent also. Good service + nice atmosphere.

Even if you dont drink coffee you should go and try their chai latte. So tasty! And all staff there are really nice and friendly!

One darn sexy cup of café. Friendly does not begin to describe the people who work here. They go above and beyond to learn your name and remember it along with your favorite drink order.it is definitely a coffee shop you can effectively work from if you still use paper and need to have something printed.There is space to sit outside and enjoy the weather and plenty of sitting inside as well.Take a minute or two to look over the menu. Their food offerings are definitely ethnic and definitely worth trying.

Cinnamon pound cake... nom nom nom. I would COME BACK to Omaha for this! I would have this shipped to me before I ordered Omaha Steaks online! Perfect fusion of sugar, almond, cinnamon and vanilla— it’s PERFECT. GREAT with coffee or solo!!

Good people, good food and atmosphere. My wife and I come often for the momos. She is from Kathmandu, and these are the best authentic Nepali momos weve found in the States. Very happy to have a place like this in town.

Love this fantastic little cafe in downtown Omaha!We were in town for a wedding, staying right around the corner at the Residence Inn, when I found this little gem. I dont mind walking a couple blocks through blustering cold winds for a good cup off coffee and a quaint place to hang out for a bit—Himalayan Java is the perfect spot. The building is very unassuming but the interior transports you out of Nebraska with its huge Everest poster, welcoming couches, and colorful flags swooping from the ceiling. The coffee is delicious, I stuck with my usual latte while my MIL quite enjoyed an Americana. We were very temped by the large assortment of lovely pastries, trying a raspberry scone—it was really good—and had plans to go back for lunch to try the momos, which another customer raved about, but alas were caught up in wedding festivities. Next time!I highly recommend taking a break for coffee and treats in this inviting cafe.

Amazing coffee, the most authentic momo’s I’ve had since Butwal, Nepal. The owner Sloger is super friendly and helpful. I had the privilege to show him my pictures from the original Himalayan java in Kathmandu. I can’t wait to come back to Omaha to visit.

Good coffee, both Expresso and brew, pretty good food, nice service from nice people.

We had the egg sandwich, vegan donuts, peach summer tea, and iced coffee and they were all excellent. Atmosphere is quaint and inviting with cozy chairs and work space. The egg sandwich was as excellent value, but not too notch. Still well worth it. Service was good and fast. This was a Saturday around noon.

So good! Everything I have ordered so far has been so delicious and the staff is great! They always help me find a drink that I would like because I am not a huge coffee drinker and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. Top recommendations are honey latte and the honey hot lemon tea.

Since I had the day off, we decided to stop down to Himalayan Java for a lunchtime snack. Sag, the owner, is the man and I really liked the place. The spot had a neighborhood feel and that shined through as Sag greeted so many of the customers with handshakes and/or hugs.The hot chocolate and coffees were all good as well as the cinnamon coffee cake that we ordered. We even got to try some Mo Mo which was pretty excellent. The sauce used has a very unique flavor that tastes like ginger and some kind of curry. There is probably more to it than that Im sure.The service was wonderful and the cashier even remembered my name. That coupled with the way the owner interacts with the customers would bring me back. Im a huge fan establishments effete the owner mashes a point to be out on the floor.

Was in Omaha to visit my niece and we tried this coffee shop. The coffee was excellent and the cinnamon bread was delicious. The two young ladies were so friendly and welcoming. We were able to bring the dog inside also. A great place to have a coffee and visit with family and friends. Very comfortable.

First time trying. Came in for an iced coffee, ended up getting a whole spread. Had the chicken masala sandwich and the pork momos (dumplings) for lunch on 07/16/20. So much deliciousness!! 100 percent coming back.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the old market area. The outdoor seating is nice and the indoor is comfortable as well. They seem to allow dogs in which is cool.Coffee selection is massive. Coffee strength and flavor is amazing! The eats they have are good.Prices are well.Id come here over Starbucks any day of the week!The Browniecinno is amazing! Or just straight iced coffee is good too.

Downtown Omaha is strange. It’s a ghost town. One of the only cities I’ve been to that doesn’t really have a shopping district, the streets are barren of traffic and cars, there’s hardly even any foot traffic... So, I was surprised to find good coffee since I started thinking no one even lives or works down here. This hot cup of yummy latte is exactly what I needed in this frigid day.... Thanks Himalayan!

Went for my first time a few days ago, oh lord.. I love this place. The customer service was amazing! They explained to me the drinks answered all my questions with a friendly attitude. I went and worked on my journal and it was a cute cafe to get inspired and to work. I will definitely be going back!!

The momo was absolutely delicious! The chicken was nicely season and the hot sauce was the perfect compliment to it. They also had mild sauce. I would definitely Gabe them again. I also liked the comfy atmosphere and excellent service.

Interesting coffee and family friendly. They have books, board games, and even let dogs in. Service was friendly and atmosphere wasnt overwhelming. Menu is limited to sandwich and bakery snacks. The coffee is definitely different than standard places, maybe an acquired taste. Its strong but not overly bitter, kind of a dirty/minty flavor to me. A sippy $2 coffee.

This place is so cool! They have a LOT of options on their menu, including both drinks and food, so everyone should be able to find something here. The decor is really cool with accents from adventures to the Himalayas.

Great experience! Carmel latte was delicious. The staff were super friendly. I also had a delicious sandwich. The atmosphere is out of the usual, in a good way. Their menu is creative and inventive. I can see this being a new regular stop for me!

I’m from out of town and was looking for a cozy, down home feel. After trying one other in town that seemed more for the millennial crowd I found myself at Himalayan Java. HJ checked off all my boxes. I enjoyed a Carmel marshmallow steamer and a Carmel bread pudding muffin. I was treated VERY well and looking to go again tomorrow before leaving Omaha.

A really cute coffeeshop with the same homey feel as Caffeine Dreams or Aromas. The coffee really is superb and the service was fast and friendly. Havent tried the pastries but they look delicious. They hire a diverse staff and serve just as diverse a community. My only gripe is that the chairs are pretty uncomfortable, so Id probably grab this to go. I cant wait to see where this business goes!

Yum Himalayan chai, quite similar to an Indian chai. Kids loved their hot chocolate. Staff were really helpful and nice.

Their iced coffee is awesome. It is a darker roast, but if youre into that - its perfect.

Cranberry Turkey Sandwich is the best!

My husband and I both got iced coffees here. They were way too sweet, watery and the coffee did not taste good. Both of us took one sip and we both couldnt finish them. We would not recommend this place.

Im not a coffee drinker and Im gluten intolerant so the best option for me here was a bottle of water. I went there at night and the only hot tea options they had were two teas with caffeine. I hope they start doing better. The environment felt a little cluttered. It wasnt my favorite and I will probably never go back.

We were looking for a place open before seven in the morning and were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendliness at Himalayan Coffee. Well made brews for sure.

Himalayan javas coffee is really good and I like their ambiance. But they really need to figure out a better system for communicating orders among the staff. 2 of the 3 times Ive gone, theyve gotten something wrong with my order (not leaving room for milk, not adding the right syrup, etc.) It makes me a little hesitant to go back because its not fun to get back to work and realized your coffee isnt right!

This is where I sit with my laptop when I stay at the Deco Hotel in Omaha. The coffee is great as well as the service. The food isnt bad. The atmosphere is also excellent.

I absolutely adore Himalayan Java! Their honey lattes are smooth, flavorful, and not too sweet - highly recommend. Also the space is much cozier than expected with pleasant kitschy decor and warm woods.

Ran in to get two sandwiches to take to the CWS game. Employees were pleasant. Unfortunately, when I got to the ball park I looked inside and found two egg and sausage sandwiches instead of two turkey. Called and left a message no return call. Not only did they give me the wrong sandwiches and ones we could not eat the difference was $5. Will not be returning and will check sandwiches before I go.
