Absolutely horrible experience. We ordered a cake for my moms bday 2-3 days in advance. We noticed the hand writing was very messy, ok whatever. Then we took it out of the box and it was completely lop sided. We sent wheat fields a private message as we didn’t want to leave a review if they’d just make it right. They asked us for more details then never responded. So my mom went there in person. They had no management and my mom had to wait for the manager to drive there. They accused my mom of dropping the cake because of the finger print. The finger print was clearly an accident (not even done by my mom) and NOBODY dropped the cake. Let me make this clear: my mom didn’t pick up the cake from wheatfields NOR did she take the cake out of the box. Shame on you for accusing and treating my mom like this. She only showed them 1 photo so I’ll attach photos of the other sides so you can CLEARLY see nobody dropped it the cake it was just sloppily and carelessly made. On the shorter side there was a ton of frosting in the middle so they clearly knew and tried to even it out. Never got an apology, refund, nothing. Instead they dragged it out way more than it needs to be. It says A LOT about an owner by how they treat their customers. Seriously, how hard is it to just apologize?? I think the loser manager must have a huge ego, you know take this a lesson people will respect you more if you admit when you’re wrong. After looking up the company more they had a class action law suit involving 40 ex employees not being paid by the scum owner, and had 10 citations for violating mask mandates. Had I known this I wouldn’t waste my time here because now we clearly see how this trash 🗑 does business.
First time there after hearing rave reviews from our massage therapist about their bag lunches. Stopped in late afternoon Friday & the kitchen was closed but plenty of tasty options in the cooler & shelves. Purchased a piece of coconut pie & raspberry bread. THE BEST COCONUT PIE Ive EVER HAD!! OMG cant wait to go back to try something else. Havent tried the bread yet but looks yummy. Price for the pie was a bit more than I normally pay BUT the quality & taste far surpassed anything Ive had before so the price is well worth it. I told my sister from Alabama that this is THE place for pie when she visits. The raspberry bread was reasonably priced. Too many yummy items to choose from so Ill be back again soon!
Bummer. Went for a late lunch at 2:00 and the only place to sit was at a dirty table outside. The table was dirty from last nights rain. A sign says the dining room closes at 1:30 - I wish I had known. While I was waiting to order, I saw other would-be customers figure out the situation and leave. The chicken salad was okay, kind of bland. My son said his grilled cheese was good.Im 0 for 2 on highly-rated Omaha restaurants. Upstream Brewing was a disappointment, too. But Perkins by the airport was good! Go figure.
I loved the Christmas spirit and different dessert decorations!! So cute and festive!!I’m only giving a 4 because I was expecting the cookies to be soft and chewy as the staff told me but they were a little dry and crunchy. ): still good but just not as expected. I am more of a soft cookie fan and not so much with crunchy cookies. The rolls were good!! Not dry and tasty! Good the syrup is the best part for the rolls.
Heard great things about the strawberry wedding cake. 4 stars for me. It was very good. The interior is beautiful with a great looking assortment of baked goods.I really need to try more items from this bakery.Service was friendly and polite. Its conveniently located near the trader Joes.Parking is available in a large lot shared with others. This restaurant is a little off to the side. We had a little difficulty finding it, but Google maps helped direct us further into the corner.
Menu is a little passive aggressive and poor in service, it states no alterations may be made… that’s fine I guess. This was the start of my bad experience. Then I got my Belgium waffle that’s 14$ which I was expecting a phenomenal warm but soft waffle! Nope it was cold and my butter didn’t even melt. I turned that away and couldn’t enjoy a meal with my friend. This used to be my favorite place to eat. What in the world happened? Then on my way out a lady blames me and says well your the only complaint we had today!!! Wow
Ordered the hot turkey sandwich and it did not disappoint. Iced tea tasted weird - like it almost had a peachy taste. It wasnt bad but not for me. Waiter was attentive.
Great location for breakfast! However.... 1. Service is lacking. Staff was not friendly or accommodating. No safety protocols other than masks (no gloves). Food selection was good but rather pricey. We had Ron’s AM Wrap, Biscuits & Gravy and a Latte. The hotel recommended us to go here but we felt the restaurant looked tired, not well kept and the food was rather tasteless. Clean up and freshen up restaurant, get a better menu and more upbeat staff and this place will be popular or sure!
Great food, as always. Our waiter was wonderful and had been there awhile. Very nice man.
Mondays in the bakery = deals galore!!Always had great food and wonderful service in the restaurant. Get a side of the creme brulee potatoes. Wish kids menu was more reasonably priced.
Food was awesome. Mombasa was what I really came for but as soon as I entered the bakery sent my taest buds in a frenzy. I wanted to try everything.
You cant find a better place to go to get great food, and service. They close the restaurant at 1:30 on the weekend, so you need to get there by noon to get a table. The bakery is open later, and the variety of goodies are so many its hard to decide what to get. Highly recommended!!
Awesome food. Desserts are awesome.
One of the top 3 places I like to visit and dine at when Im in Omaha. Breakfast/brunch is my favorite time to be there.
Service can differ depending on person and day, but I have had outstanding service here! Only tricky thing may be figuring out what the prices are of some items (theyre not always written.) All the stuff Ive eaten here has tasted amazing though!! I definitely recommend any cheesecake (I have tried them all), and their cinnamon rolls. Theyre currently having a deal, $3 a slice on Monday, so if youre thinking about trying it ...try it now!
Ok folks, came here as the kids basketball tournament was going on. Heard about their cinnamon buns and went looking for that. Their cakes especially strawberry wedding cake bowled us over. So much so that we are planning to take a slice back for the gang to Houston. Even the German chocolate cake was top notch. Croissants looked quite good and rich bit we did not have space to try them. The manager was so kind she gave us a whole lot of extra cake and rolls but Im telling you every single thing we got was outta this world. We got a few rolls for the team, am sure it will go down very well with them. If in Omaha, this is a must visit place.
Delicious, but a bit pricey, especially if you order coffee. A regular bottomless cup is $3.29 vs. a specialty coffee is $4.29. Kinda overpriced if you ask me. My specialty latte wasnt great. I had a cherry strudel which was amazing (came with my meal), omelet and fresh fruit were delicious! Whole meal plus tip was almost $28. For 1 person, thats a bit much. I took half the omelet and fruit home, so two meals for $14 not too shabby. Ill be back, but probably not regularly.
Lots of gluten free options. Their cinnamon rolls are amazing.
Great food great serviceAWESOME GLUTEN FREE selection ask for the GF menue
I placed a to go order 40 minutes prior to arriving at the restaurant. When I got there I was told ten more minutes. This was absolutely no big deal, but the girl working was extremely rude. When I went back in to check, which at this point i had been waiting there for half an hour, she rolled her eyes at me. After waiting over an hour for food I never received I asked her to refund me, which she again rolled her eyes at me for. I’ve been in this industry for five years now, and if I had one recommendation it would be to fire the woman behind the counter that is a young brunette with glasses. It’s obvious why she is behind the counter and not a server, but I think she’d be better off somewhere that she isn’t speaking to customers at all.
Such a great resturant. Everything taste wonderful. Its a sweet tooth paradise!
Strawberry Wedding Cake!! I ordered a half sheet size for my moms birthday and it was a hit! Very reasonably priced. Really impressed! ❤️
I only went to the bakery. Everything was delicious (too delicious) and although I could tell my pie was previously frozen, it was amazing. Literally the only complaint from my guests was that the desserts were TOO decadent and they couldnt stop eating them!
Had a breakfast casserole that came with fresh fruit and a muffin. It was good. The place was very busy and still has somewhat limited menu due to covid staffing shortages. Id go back.
Bakery is DELISH!Restaurant: Loud! Extremely loud, packed and little room to move around in both the restaurant and waiting in the bakery.Chose to go for lunch the day before Mother’s Day, expecting to find their full menu and instead received a holiday version. Apparently after Easter they will always have the holiday menu which does not all for any substitutions or changes. The food choices were okay, but don’t bring kids as they may not enjoy the selection. The server was nice but frazzled. Took a while to get anything asked for, including the check.Food is good. A bit overpriced on many of the selections. The chicken selection and mashed potatoes was piping hot, a sweet flavor—GOOD! Coleslaw not so...had a horrible after taste. My partners plate looked unappealing, but he said was really good.Overall a good experience, will return on a non-holiday weekend and will continue ordering from the bakery for sweet treats.
Disappointing. This place used to be good, but theyve cut two thirds of their menu. Frustrating since they still have most of the same ingredients available & could provide more options. I used to look forward to coming here for brunch anytime I was visiting Omaha.
This place is so amazing i could there for all meals of the day
Excellent EVERYTHING. But maybe could run some better specials.
I love their Terramesu, Strawberry Cake and some of their cheesecakes!
Always a great experience at Wheatfields. The last time there I enjoyed quiche for breakfast. It was phenomenal! If youre lucky enough to sit at one of Anns tables, expect to be treated like family!
GREAT PLACE BUT NO MORE CORNED BEEF HASH, THE CANED KIND THE BEST BETTER THAN HOME MADE, FOR THE AVERAGE EATER.
I used to love the strawberry cake but today i bought couple slices (grab and go one) and they were awful :( very very dry inside, dead slices (tasted like they were too old) Please maintain the quality as this is my one of the favorite dessert place to look forward to all the time I get sugar cravings!
This place is the most amazing! It has the best breakfast that you can die for. If you ever visit Omaha you absolutely MUST eat here for breakfast.
Breakfast to go. The Rons wrap way too many potatoes and a bit greasy. The potato strata dish was tasty. 3 big sausages. The bakery items looked amazing. Gluten free cookies 😋
The food was good, and the waitress was fantastic. We thought the hostess was VERY attitudinal. I understand being short staffed, and while we are being understanding, we thought the hostess was less than understanding
I googled wheat fields and saw what I thought was a $10.99 salad. I was charged $13.99. When I asked about it Andrew came out and said “that’s not our website”.so these people charged me $8 more than I had expected and refused to do anything to make it right… the Ron threaten to call the police. . I will NEVER go to this restaurant again snd will make sure all y friends know of this experience.
We usually love Wheatfields and hate to leave this review, but just had the rudest experience. We entered the building and got in line at 128p. The hostess came up and placed the closed sign right in front of us, looked me in the face, and said “we’re closed”. There was no one behind us. It wouldn’t have been hard to seat us and put the sign up behind us. Now you’ve lost a loyal customer. I won’t come back. Sorry!
Food is always insanely delicious, but despite the menus mentioning maple syrup multiple times, they dont carry any maple syrup at all. They have the typical flavored sugar syrup most places have. Its really not cool to call that maple syrup, because that is NOT EVEN CLOSE.
This place is great! First time, I was put off by the taste of salmon on my eggs but hubbs loved his food so we went again and I got something different and was happy. We have been now several times and its been great. The dads biscuits plate is amazing. Ive had a few sweet treats also from the store and hope to try more stuff.
Shouldnt walk away hungry.
Excellent bakery, decent coffee, check out their strawberry wedding cake for a whipped cream frosted treat.
AMAZING! 1st time there. Will definitely be back! :)
Wonderful food, good service and AMAZING baked goods.
I liked it. Croque madame was tasty and sizable. Fruit cup was probably the best Ive had thus far (it had raspberries!). Espresso was good too. Ill echo other reviews stating that quality of the food isnt inline with the prices levied, but our waiter was fast and efficient, and service was quick. We wont be back on a frequent basis, but will include it on an occasional basis for our weekend breakfast outings.
Loved the German-inspired paintings on the walls and German music. Very cute. The chicken salad sandwich I had was yummy and the baked goods I took home with me were fantastic. I highly recommend the Gluten-free cinnamon rolls and apple bread.
Incredible, thats all Ive got to say.
If you are looking for the definition of a brunch and bakery, this is the place. The ultimate experience, the Mini Sugar rolls sampler, Orange Blossom Mimosas, and the Crab and Loberstercake Eggs Benedict. Dont forget to grab some pastries to go in your way out the door! We love this place!
The bakery is 5 star, restaurant 4 for its kind of menu. Bakery has all kinds of items all great. Restaurant has an extensive menu with a country nature. Some unusual items all very good. Service is sometimes slow in the restaurant but ok and always friendly.
Lots of good food here. Gotta keep my distance, cuz I get to sweet after eating here.
Killer bakery. Longtime, consistent quality lunches and breakfasts. Nice to be in a restaurant that is full again. Gotta keep supporting these places or they will be going under.
When in Omaha.....awesome place for breakfast, creme Brule waffles BOOM!
We were really looking forward to a great Wheatfields breakfast. Unfortunately our server wasn’t masked. When we asked her about it she said it was personal preference. We left money on the table for the coffee and went somewhere else.
Great food!! Got my order wrong twice.
They threw everything at the Dads biscuits and a gravy. Egg was a little more over easy than I generally prefer but everything else was excellent. Server was a little off, and at one point walked away from us during ordering, without a word. When she returned she informed us she thought they were out of wheat bread. Then continued taking our order. Amazing bakery.
Nothing like a bowl of chili and a cinnamon roll on a cold Nebraska day! And this cinnamon roll is top of the line. Chili was excellent as well. Just writing this review is forcing my hand and yup Im heading to Wheatfields!
Homemade marmalade is wonderful! Lots of drink and food choices.
The retail bakery is just plain old baked goods.everything we purchased, cookie, cake, muffin, all old and dry. Shame on you Ron Popp.
Good food. Place looks a bit run down.
Nice place, good people, fresh food, great taste
Best quiche Lorraine Ive ever had. Great bakery.
Well never come here for breakfast again, EVER. We were seated on the south patio next to the closed windows. With no air conditioning or ability to open the windows, I sat with the sun beating on me for over 20 minutes until a server acknowledged our presence. Over 20 minutes! Took another 30 minutes to receive our order which was wrong, the server knew it but brought it anyway. The server blamed a new cook for the error. Seriously, if you know its wrong, make them fix it rather than serve it.
They went above and beyond to make my best friens her favorite menu item that wasnt even on the menu anymore. She didnt know it had been taken off. When the cook said they could make the buffalo chicken recipe for her she was so happy!
Young man with the bull nose ring is extremely rude. Will have to put this on the will never go back list.
Oh my gosh awsome. Everything about this place is 5 star
Omaha can be proud of what Ron Popp created with his Wheatfield’s concept. Massive menu which include meal options for just about everyone. Their unique flair makes them a fun place to eat by yourself, go on a date or gather with family. Indoor and outdoor seems available when weather permits. Outstanding desserts, breads and treats.
I loved it. Take the family you wont regret it. So many choices and the the food is very good.
Always awesome food. Best cinnamon roll i have ever had
Friendly service. Good food:)
So unbelievably slow it’s crazy seems like you wait forever to be waited on. Also the icing on the cake for me was they require masks but almost all of their employees are either not wearing them correctly or no wearing them at all. The old man who seems to be there all the time leaning all over the food with no mask was really great as well. Would love to see what else they aren’t following as a food establishment.
Meh. Food was ok. Comfort food. Large portions. Friendly wait staff.
Miss the extensive menu but the food was very good.
Quick, and great quality. Worth the price.
I have order cakes from here most of the the time and it is always an amazing experience ordering through them
The staff were very friendly, and the food was incredibly well priced for how big the portions were. Everyone was also very good at making sure that it was safe and healthy
Awesome cakes, bakery goods, & customer service!!! Love the look and feel and how helpful they were guiding us in selecting the perfect cake!!! Will definitely be back & highly recommend!!!
It was rather busy today but my server Ann was phenomenal and the food was delicious.
Always my go-to place! The bakery is outstanding and the food is to die for. Has tons of food options to choose from
I love coming to this place for breakfast but I had a bad experience with one if the waitresses about two weeks ago. I think her name is Indy. She was a short girl with purple hair. When she brought our mimosas, she accidentally poured the orange juice and the water in my lap. She apologized, but then moved us to a dirty table. I had to tell her to clean the table. I expected her to tell the manager, but I dont think she did as the manager never came to see if everything was ok. The food took forever to arrive, too. It was the first time I took friends there, but the experience that day left kind of a bad impression.
This place truly is the best thing since sliced bread& they actually have that too!!! The chef is a true artist everything I have ever eaten in this place is absolutely delicious!
