Excellent service! Was told repairs wouldn’t begin tilJune 1. Repairs began long before that and I had my vehicle back quite quickly. Upon return of vehicle, noticed door panel shook and door was not aligned. I spoke with the manager who said drop it off and we will get you a loaner. Adjustments were made and had vehicle back in a day.Very happy with the expediency of repairs and customer service received .

I called to have my vehicle damage assessed and they got me right in the very same day, My vehicle ended up needing a complete paint job, When I asked when they could get it in to start repairs I was told August 23rd, I really hope that they can get me in much sooner, I also asked how long the repairs would take and was told at least 20 days which surprised me, I know that they may be busy and have limited staff but I was referred to them by my insurance company which is Liberty Mutual and was told that not only would I be given priority service but that my insurance company would guarantee and warranty repairs that were done as long as I owned the vehicle, Only downfall is that I didnt have rental car coverage at the time of loss which means rental car costs are out of pocket and not having my vehicle for three weeks that can be a bit pricey but my insurance company was nice enough to get me a rental car at their discounted price which saves me some money which is definitely a good thing, I just really hope that Ill be able to get my vehicle in sooner and the repairs wont take as long as they said, This is the initial step so I guess well see, Ill update this review with photos after the repairs are completed, Wish me luck! Thanks, Ok update I received a call today from the body shop and they were able to get me into another body shop on August 2nd located in Ballston Lake, NY which is excellent news! Ill also have a rental car reserved and waiting for me to drive off the lot that very same day! Thanks alot Gerber Collision & Glass! I am editing this review for the third time as of 9/26/2020.As I have reached the character limit that google allows, I have edited most of it for length.Despite a VERY poor experience when it comes to customer service and communication, this review has been set to what will likely be its final standing with 3 stars. In short, I was provided with ZERO communication about my vehicle during the entire 16 day period that Gerber had my vehicle, and due to an internal communication error, they responded to this review before the actions they commented on had come to pass. Since then, I have been contacted by one of their managers who provided a sincere apology, and made a meaningful attempt to make up for the complete communication and customer service negligence I experienced. I was assured that my case was an outlier, but as my business with Gerber has concluded, I have no means to verify this.Truncated original review text to follow:Original 2 star Review, as of 9/18/2020The Good:The work performed appears to be solid. Repair quality looks only slightly worse than if the vehicle was fresh from the factory. Quality of work is the one area that (originally) prevented this review from being a one star review, as quality of work is the -most- important thing from a repair shop. Gerber succeeded in this regard, though I will update my review if time proves the work to be of subpar quality.Now for the bad:Gerber Collision provided me with one of the poorest examples of professionalism and customer service Ive encountered in quite some time, and the failure stems from neglect/negligence in communication and customer care.I dropped off my vehicle to Gerber on September 2. My repair was completed as of September 18. this is a 16-day repair window. My experience follows:Aug 31, Insurance recommended Gerber Collision. Though Travelers allows me to choose my repair shop, I accepted their recommendation and hired Gerber to perform the repairs.Sept 2, I dropped off my vehicle. The receptionist called a tech out to walk with me to, and discuss the needs of my vehicle, I was told that as soon as the tech could get my car onto a lift, Id be contacted with information on what to expect.. I headed back in to the receptionist where I hit my first red flags. the paperwork I was given to sign was a set of blank form documents. Nothing was filled in to differentiate my Subaru from any other customers vehicle. I filled in the necessary description fields myself, and went next door to pick up a rental car from enterprise, then headed home and waited for the promised phone call.September 10, 8 days later. I get my only call from Gerber. The receptionist informed me that My KIA was just about ready for pickup, and they were just washing it now. Strange, since I own a Subaru. I told her that I dont own a Kia, and she quickly dismissed herself, apologizing for getting the names mixed up on the paperwork.September 17, My -insurance company- called to tell me that the work was completed and I should arrange to pick it up tomorrow.September 18, I called Gerber on my way to work to verify that the work was completed, and to schedule pickup. At pickup, I was handed my keys and left to find my own vehicle and inspect it with no information of what work had been completed except what was listed on the bill.Review:+ Repair work looks good- Did not prepare papers before requesting signature- Did not follow through on promises to communicate- Shifted burden to communicate with customer to an insurance company- ZERO contact about Customers vehicle for ENTIRE repair duration- Called incorrect customer about vehicle.- no review of work completed at pickup.- When keys were returned, vehicle was not brought to customer, and no location or direction was provided as to where to find said vehicle.- One customer Lost.- One negative review left.First edit, (one star review) as of 9/23- Response from owner cites a contact from Christopher U which also never happened.- 1 star lost for lying about this.
Recently I had my first experience with Gerber Collision and I can say it was outstanding in every way. Not only did they get my vehicle in sooner than expected, it was finished sooner than expected as well. Not only did the outside look brand new, they had cleaned in the interior as well - which totally shocked me! So awesome! Everyone was very nice and helpful as well.
The people here are so kind and generous! They not only were able to fix my car quickly but were super considerate in giving me a discount when they could! If you need to fix your car this is by far the best place to go!!!
Very nice people to speak with. Hit a deer. Gave a nice detailed estimate on my car. Was very reasonable compared to other shops.
If you want to get your car fix do not bring it to this place. They lack in professionalism and customer service. I just do not understand how a business can take someone’s car and not provide any updates on the progression of the repair or the service. I have to pick up my phone everyday and ask about my car which is not okay. There’s always an excuse as to why something was not done on time. My car has been sitting in this facility for approximately a a month and two weeks. The damage that was done to the car did not add up with the time that the car has spent in their care. They told me multiple times that they would contact me when something is done or follow up and they lack in keeping their word. I have yet to ever receive a phone call from this facility in forming me about my car unless I show up unannounced. When you run a business you want people to trust you and come back again. I would never recommend this place to a friend or family member.
My wife went to this business on 1/6/20 for an estimate set up by our insurance company, upon entering the door, she was greeted with nothing but hostility and anger from the owner. His was not only unprofessional he was very disrespectful to my wife!! He started his interaction with my wife with, “ It’s Monday Lady, I am busy, what do you want”? From there he yelled and continued to disrespect my wife and yanked the keys from her hands. My wife was more than pleasant with this man but did not return the same. He did eventually do the estimate but refused to give my wife a copy for our records. After repeated attempts to get a copy to no avail, she got her keys back and left and went to another business to get an estimate. This other business was more than pleasant with her and complete the estimate and supplied her with a copy. Gerber Collision in Oneonta will never get my or any business from any of my family or friends and I really l recommend that NO ONE ever patronize this business EVER!!!! If I could give zero stars or lower, I would rate this business a —100!!!
Had our car fixed here after we hit a deer but had many things go wrong! They didn’t seal the windshield or install the panels correctly and they used cheap headlight replacements. There was a clear sticky coat left in our windows that we had to scrap off. Also car was very dirty when we picked it up. We had a tropical storm in our area (really just heavy rain) and the driver seat was SOAKED as well as there being a puddle of water on the passenger seat floor because of the poor service after the repairs. Do not recommend getting your car serviced here! We have scheduled to bring our car to another shop to fix their mistakes.
It went so much smoother then I figured it would. So very happy and Miranda made things happen so I wouldnt be left scrambling this time of year. Thank you Carubba!!
