Shipping is absolutely worthless. They only use their carrier, R&L carriers. These guys have jacked me around for a week on the delivery. Im way past my deadline. I simply wont buy from them again because they use a worthless carrier for freight.

Purchased a vq35de for my 03 350z, no issues runs strong!

These are basically Japanese salvage engines. Like any salvage engine, you are rolling the dice. I wasnt so lucky. Plugs looked good and it cranked smooth, but I was suspicious because the engine had obviously been exposed to the elements for a considerable period of time, judging by all the corrosion and oxidation, but the the guy said it was the best one he had. Went over it a bit more thoroughly when I got it on the stand. Cylinder 1 had 20% leakage at 50 psi. the rest had between 80% and 100% leakage. Metal shavings in the pan, too. Suffice to say, this engine did not get installed. The engine that actually went in came from H-Motors in Burbank. I would start there if you are looking for an engine.

I do not know about everyone else but i think that the customer service here is really POOR, they took in my order and now they do not answer the phones. When they do answer the phones they just put me on hold and then hang up, please get better people to answer the phone. Now after 4 days one of them tells me that they do not have the part. WASTE OF TIME!

I recently bought a 2AZ motor for my sons Scion TC from JDM of California. Its been in his car for 3 weeks now, and I couldnt be happier. Great customer service, and communication. Motor looks like it was brand new, and runs great! The fact that its a complete motor, and for the price is unbeatable. Since all I own are Toyotas, if I need another motor or transmission, this will be where I buy it from. Lifetime customer now! Many thanks guys!!!! Just ordered a f23a engine from David and spoke with him on the phone. Great and straight to the point and answered all my questions. Their engines are compression tested and from what he tells me they have a great line up of engines and well taken care of at that. I will be buying multiple engines once this first one gets to me I will more than likely turbo and blow it up at my error of course lol but knowing I have a place where I can buy my engines is great and a great ease to the mind since Ive seen so many bad reviews on jdm engine depot and jdm of new York... I plan to build break and repeat with this company. You and who ever should to. Seems like this place has great service for their customers. And send out great product. I cant wait for my engine to get here. Lol.

Bought a transmission for a Nissan 300zx. It wouldnt switch out of second gear, but jdm California said they would send me another trans for no cost. In my eyes, theyve already done more then enough to keep me happy. Highly recommend since they want to keep customers happy.

Blew a 2005 Honda Civic engine and started to search on Google for places to buy used engines and came across JDM of California. They had a great price tag that couldnt be beat by anyone else along with such raving reviews online, I took my chance and wasnt disappointed. JDM engine is already in my car and running great so far! I didnt have a chance to meet David since he was away but I dealt with his uncle and he was very helpful with what needed to be done when my uncle inquired about what we needed to do when dropping it in. Blew up an old engine. Repairs were going to cost $7,000. Called these guys, they do compression test and took the heads off to see how clean the internals are. He said, “we have an engine, but I wouldn’t put it into your vehicle. (Due to signs of the previous owner not changing the oil) Call us back in a week when our new shipment comes in.” When I did eventually make it into the stop to look at engines, they had already determined which one was the best of their new shipment. They were also very knowledgeable about the mileage of the engine and how to determine that. It was a very comfortable and good experience overall, especially considering the circumstances. The total cost of the project only costed $2,000 dollars. I saved $5,000 dollars and my 2001 4Runner runs like new. Non of the other shops in Southern California would do a compression test or open the top up. Need an engine, but from these guys.

Ended up purchasing a whole Subaru Version 7 drivetrain package from David. Very awesome fellow and the workers that are here are great people as well. They are all very friendly. I have been given the run around from the very beginning. I had to beg 4 times for an invoice after purchasing a transmission and engine from JDM. I finally received it after a month by email. Immediately after installing both pieces, there was white and blue smoke. Of course they say it was damage caused by improper installment. I love my car and wouldnt let anyone touch that I didnt trust. The engine has an internal issue that couldnt have been caused by install. I have been called a liar and blamed for the damage. Once I demand to speak to the boss I am told he is in Japan and am told Im out the $1700 I spent with them. I would NEVER recommend JDM to anyone!

Has good service well taken care of and all but I bought a vg30de engine from them I barely got it installed. Supposedly the engine has anywhere from 64,xxxmi or lower. I barely got it installed on Wednesday. All the parts on the engine that I changed look like they where over 150,xxx. I barely started driving it for 3 days and I have piston rods breaking already I can guarantee the engine was not in good condition like they said. Idk if anyone else had the same problem with there engines but this one was not in good condition like they said.

Picked up a B20 motor for 400 flat and the Transmission for 200 flat, fantastic prices, everything is right around 50K miles (practically new in the Honda world) and everything comes with the warranty.This place is a life saver, other places wanted 800 dollars for the engine and 700 for the transmission.
