This is, without a doubt, a highlight of our visits to the Orland Park mall. I have been here several times with my children over the years, and Jay has given us outstanding service every time. She greets my kids at the door and ensures they have a wonderful visit. From the first step in the door to the happy dancing back out, each trip has been a memorable experience fueled by the outstanding and attentive staff and we look forward to coming back.PS: Thank you for making my little girls 3rd birthday even more wonderful!

I love this place! Where else could I create homunculus abominations as crude facsimiles of bears. Terrible affronts to the good works of God, truly repulsive night terrors given unholy flesh. Walking amalgamations of mans arrogance given form.

The old lady with medium length gray hair that she tried to dye black is always so rude, build a bear is supposed to be a happy place for kids but she can’t even be bothered to say hi back

Again, in there twice. Bought 2 animals. Service and safety was outstanding. Limited entry to insure social distancing.

Horrible service! Came here to celebrate my sons 3rd birthday. I’m so disappointed in the people I came in contact with today. You can tell when someone does not want to assist you! From the lady at the door all the way to the lady at check out, just very rude and stand off ish. We frequently visit the Oak Park location and they are friendly unlike these ladies. The lady at the register is what makes me right this review. She was so friendly and nice to the lady in front of me. I asked her a question and instantly got the cold shoulder. The only different was of course our skin color which is so sad. I’ll never visit this location again. I know it won’t hurt their pockets but I have to make the contiguous choice to not spend my money in a place that does not value me as a customer.

They are practicing social distancing in the store very well! Before you go in, you stand at the entrance and wait for an employee to let you in (may have to wait, may be let in right away, due to how many ppl are in there at the time). You still get the full build-a-bear experience when you get in. Its a bit pricey, but as a special experience on occasion, its worth it! Associates were very friendly! Just be aware that anything extra you add is an up charge. My daughter loves it there!!

I needed a few children’s Xmas gifts Saturday night and decided to visit the Build a Bear at Orland Square. It was near closing time and I was so impressed by the excellent time I had. It’s been a long time since I was in one of these stores and there was a great selection, they were incredibly thoughtful with the advice and solved two very complicated gift buying challenges. The manager on duty, Cheryl, could not have been better at the challenge of multiple shoppers, Covid and health constraints, and ensuring we all had the typical fun time making our gifts. I’ve been underwhelmed by the service levels at most mall stores this holiday so it was refreshing to see one doing all the right things. I went way over budget because it was so much fun!

What a great experience. Both of the staff members we dealt with were excited and enthusiastic with the kids. Daughter really enjoyed creating and adding special trinkets to her animal. The whole experience was enjoyable glad we got a gift card create an animal. Excellent gift idea for future parties.

Thay have a lot of different things and good deals

I took my daughter to this build a bear location on 9/11/2020 we live an hour and 45 min away. I can’t say I was completely unsatisfied by the visit but I wasn’t exactly thrilled of it either. We went as a special treat for her 4th Birthday, given the circumstances of today’s world I knew the visit wouldn’t be what we’ve experienced in the past that being said.. we went there for the Count your Candles Bear, so the staff was well aware this was for her Birthday. Being at a store where they advertise hype about celebrating birthdays even half birthdays and given that we were the ONLY ONES in the store there was definitely no hype for her what so ever. The staff was just trying to get us done and out and sell as much as they could to us. Neither of the two staff members bothered to even tell her happy birthday. She was not offered a Birthday hat she or even offered a Birthday sticker so finally I requested these for her. I am not happy about this at all. Your company advertises so much hype about Birthdays and making children feel special this location DID NOT succeed in making this little girl feel special and I’m not so sure we will Ever celebrate another Birthday with your company for this reason.

The experience at this store was truly amazing. All of the employees were extremely happy, and really it made it special for our first time in. One employee did stand out from the rest (Pictured). She brought so much joy to building my sons bear. You could tell she genuinely loved what she does. I’m not sure whom she is, but she really made an HUGE impact on us driving 2 hrs to come back to that store. Happy holidays!

Very awesome store. It was my second time coming. I went once when I was about 8yrs old, for my own bear. This time I took my two year old daughter for her first!!! The store was clean, and organized! They were so so so many options and things to do! My babygirl picked a stuffed Cat (of course. Why get a bear at build-a-bear?)😂 She had the most glorious time picking out the animal, stuffing it, putting sounds and a heart inside... and or course PICKING THE CLOTHES💕💕 The gentleman who was working and assisting us during our visit was fantastic! Very nice and outgoing. He really added to the magic for my daughter!

The service was excellent. I dont remember the womans name but she did a great job. She expressed my 4 year old grand daughter so much that after leaving she asked if she could go back and give the woman a hug. She has never done that before. So if the woman who was working made that much of an impression then its got to be good!

My boyfriend and I went there to make a bear and the employee was so nice to us! I always get so worried I am going to be judged for being an adult going into a childrens place (This place is fun and I love going in there), but the employee was delightful. She showed my bf how to record his own personal message to put into the bear and she even let us put two hearts into the bear and laughed with us as we did the little dance thing with it. It was a lovely clean place, I highly recommend going here!

Hi, I hope someone who works at this location sees this so I can give the employees there some exceptional reviews! I brought my nieces to this location and everyone there had an awesome attitude and was full of energy! the man working at the stuffing station just really put a personal touch on everything and connected with the kids there and I could see smiles come across everyones faces! He was tall, glasses, and had dark hair. If I ever go back I will have to find his name and tell him thank you! Ive been here twice now. Theyre friendly and are very helpful. The lady that did the stuffing knew exactly how much to put in for the results I wanted. I bought an eevee, its able to stand, but is still super soft on top. The quality of the stuffed animals are amazing. I havent bought any of the outfits, but theres a lot of options. They host birthday parties and they have a birthday bear special, check it out!

Ive never seen anyone love their job more than Pierre. We recently moved to the Orland area and have been to other stores but this guy is the best by far. He will turn a visit into an experience and as a parent you feel like you got so much more than an expensive stuffed animal. We only go to the Orland store now and request him every time. Pierre, we love how special you make each child feel!

I came in to celebrate my child’s birthday and the way Pierre celebrated my daughter was amazing! We had so much fun she forgot about her actual birthday party! Its a great place for kids. If youve sign up for the bonus program, you can get your little ones a birthday bear for the cost of whatever the age of the child. Yes, if they are 1, you actually only pay $1, but only in their birth month.

Just wanted to send a huge compliment to Pierre at the Orland Park, IL store! We came in with 7 girls aged 5-9 and he was wonderful! Patient, happy, so energetic, remembered the girls names even. We came in expecting to just build an animal then move on and he made it an EXPERIENCE! Couldnt have asked for better!

Its one of the last stores that have a wash station. One of my daughters favorites. Workers are helpful. They are located on the lower level near the food court. Bears/plushes are priced $14 to $36. Then there is a lot of add on. I wish the workers didnt encourage the kids to buy other things after you told the worker no add ons, its their job though. Public restrooms are near by. Great for the little ones. I love the older set up. It feels more warm and loving.

Way way way too pricey for some stuffed animals! For two girls I spent almost $200.00 on two bears, a few accessories, and two outfits...I wont be returning. BUT I will say the woman who stuffed their bears was absolutely amazing!

Today I took my daughter to build a bear and we were greeted by Pierre, he provided us with a awesome customer service experience from beginning to end. I took a Snapchat video of the experience and I received so much feedback on him. Keep up the great work Pierre!

I would have never thought you could have a birthday party program here it was really cool not to expensive and every kid gets to build their own bear thats awesome.

Love it for the memories. The voice station is nver very clear imo especially If you have a voice recording you would like to put in a bear as a keepsake. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It can get crowded of course but they do well to keep the lines moving.

Got a birthday bear here and boy was the staff nice. My daughter was so happy to get a bear here. They walked her through each spot from filling up the bear to washung and the to give her a name. All for a 2 dollar bear.Most build-a-bears Ive been to dont have a caring, child orientated staff ( especially the one on oak brook). They just fill the bear up and push you aside. Picking a bwar and filling it up should be something nagical for a kid. They do a great job in keeping that magic alive.

I visited this store on friday .The lady that works there was extremly blase as well as pushy with her products I simply wanted the bear stuffed and nothing more. After every product she recommended I simply stated no thank you, Id just like it stuffed. Yet she went on the make several more recommendations. She was very annoying, as well as a wet blanket personality . The only thing that made the trip worthwhile was the man who stuffed the bear for my 4 yr old son. He was so enthusiastic and genuine . My sometimes stubborn son was super responsive towards him. So kudos to that guy! In the end my boys are happy with their bears .

I buy bears very constantly from here and I was shocked with the attitude of an employee when I came and finalized my purchase. I was asked if I had a rewards account with them and I said no, but I then immediately remembered I did so I told the cashier and she responded with a oh, now you remember? And laughed it off. I didnt say anything but even my husband was in shock of what had happened. She made other remarks but I cant remember exactly her words. I dont know if she thought that because she was old she could get away with it but Im pissed that she thought it was okay and was very casual with her sarcastic remarks

I was disappointed that i didnt get to pump the stuffing in the cat and bear. Afterall its build a bear.so i actually just pick what i want. But i did like being able to add my own music to the paw.

This is the cutest place to have a speciality bear made for a loved one !!! You stuff the bear, then pick out your choice of clothes for it !!! Its alittle over priced, but consider that you are getting a keep sake speciality item !! I love this store, it makes kids smile to go home with that Princess bear... They watched get made, brought to life with stuffing and dressed up in clothes they chose... Thats special !!!

They had 2 lines tha were both busy. I had 2 wait on sum dumb ppl 2 get their animals stuffed so i went 2 the other line. Poor customer service skills and i should of complained 2 the manager but my kids were gettin irrated. Nxt time i go in i will complain.
