Stewart was very responsive in setting up a private shopping session for a Saturday afternoon. Before arriving he called me as there was a wreck and wanted to make sure I knew about alternate routes if needed. Stewart took the time to walk me through his wide selection and his buying process so I knew where the wood came from. He sat back and let me pick out the exact boards I wanted allowing as much time as I needed to get just what I wanted.His pricing and personal attention made it easy for me to want to drive over an hour and I am happy to say that I will be back.

This place has a fine selection of Cherry, Maple, Black Walnut, Purpleheart, Red Oak and White Oak. The prices are amazing (especially compared to the box stores). The owner is very responsive via text message (on his business card). Took less than 2 days for him to joint and plane over 70 board feet to S3S! Very pleased with his products, which allows my friends and customers to be pleased with mine. Prices are inexpensive enough that I dont cry when cutting the hardwood if I make a mistake.

This place hands down is the best lumber I have ever gotten. The quality is way above the small chain stores. The prices are amazing with great customer service. He is very knowledgeable of his lumber and expertise in the field of carpentry.

The best lumber dealer in Central Florida for wood workers and furniture builders. I have purchased wood from Stewart several times and each experience has been positive. Imagine walking into a welcoming wood shop in an industrial park and being able to hand pick every board you want. without feeling rushed. You hand pick and stack whatever wood you want onto saw horses then when you are ready Stewart calculates what you hand selected, you pay your bill and away you go with your beautiful wood. I also want to note that if you want exotic woods that Stewart will order whatever wood you want even in small quantities. This guy gets an A+ for being awesome.

Stewart has an excellent selection of lumber, and plenty of experience working with it that translates into a very pleasant buying experience. Browsing the available pieces of woods, you will not feel rushed at all, and Stewart will not pressure you to buy something you dont want or need to buy. Hell answer all your questions, measure and price out pieces for you, etc. Hes also very responsive to texts (which is how you can set up time on the weekend to come to the shop) and will answer your questions (and give you very generous kudos when you send him pictures of what you made from the lumber you bought from him!). Definitely recommend paying Mainstream Hardwoods a visit if you are looking for wood for your next project!

Only Hardwood dealer I could find in the Central Florida area. Owner is quick to respond via text about any questions. Supply is adequate and had wood types that larger lumber supply places didn’t have nor could get. I’ll be back for more hardwood in the future.

Great shop. I purchased cherry from stewart two weeks ago, paid in full to have it milled to my specs. He milled it, and i picked it up a couple days later. Beautiful wood. By the way, his workshop is immaculate.

Updated: PLEASE READ. The Owner changed his review response from he issued a full refund to hes waiting on a return can you really trust a company like that? We are still eagerly awaiting for the owner to schedule a pickup but he does not respond to us. We purchased 300 bf of Black Walnut among other wood for a 500 bf total and he literally sold us sapwood, Some boards are literally 100 percent sapwood. The rest were 60 to 70 percent sapwood. There lumber is poor quality and the owner does not care, His website is a lie. The owner believes if one side is all sapwood and the other is no more than 60 percent sapwood that it is acceptable. But when we showed him that he sent some boards all sapwood he said thats a little more sapwood then we like to see and thats it.. Maybe in his line of work that is acceptable. When you receive something with 40 percent heartwood and the rest sapwood if youre lucky its hard to actually use it without losing your customers. We make quality furniture not sapwood furniture. There walnut is also steamed.I attempted to return the lumber but it feel on deef ears. WE RECEIVED NO REFUND AS OF DECEMBER 21 2020. If we did we would not be leaving this review. Ive posted pictures of his walnut next to my usual suppliers walnut you can see the difference in color and the large amount of sapwood. Ask yourself would you sell this to your customers? Ive also posted a picture of the charge back showing we paid and did not receive anything back, Hes a liar. Bought a wide variety of boards, very good selection, even had some discounted walnut! Off cuts available too- Very pleased and will be back!Good prices too! buying online, shipping is way too much, and Home Depot charges 12/bdft for friggin oak...

I live in SWFL but connected with Mainstream Hardwoods to purchase 2 boards 9 in by 7 ft purple heart and 1 board of black walnut to make some Christmas gifts. Stewart was very kind to my MIL who went to pick up the wood for me. The boards were great.
