Chris Crowley, Store Manager, spend several hours answering our many questions, explaining the differences in the various brands and the qualities of each. We truly appreciate her patience with us as we both have medical issues that require the correct mattress to ensure a good nights sleep for us both. We are very pleased with our new mattress and have already noticed a remarkable improvement in the quality of our sleep. Chris Crowley gave us amazing and great service. What a nice lady, informative but not pushy, knows her stuff when it comes to mattresses and what she could suggest based on our needs. Their financing department was less than adequate, however. I wanted to take advantage of the current interest free promotion and because I was a co-signer on a separate account that was paid in full, I could not do so unless that separate account (in my daughters name) was closed. I ended up putting our purchase on my personal credit card instead and am very happy with my purchase, but still dont understand that policy.

Chris was so helpful and patient with us while we tried to figure out just what type of mattress we were looking for. She was incredibly informative and made sure we understood the difference between the different types of mattresses and the stores policies. The manager Chris was great. Even when i messed up what size mattress we needed i called her the next day which just happen to be Christmas eve, we got the right size ordered in time. Terrible experience. Bought a memory foam bed for our elderly mother. Told in store that she would have 120 days to try it out, free return, no questions asked. It arrived in a box folded in quarters. Were assured it would expand to full 10. It never did. It remained lumpy and uneven, measured about 7 by the head, 11 in center and 6 by the feet. After several days we took our mother back to the store to discuss the situation, she cannot walk so the clerk came outside to the car, and our mother told her it was ok for now. She suffers dementia and did not remember where she was or what she said afterwards. We explained that to the clerk when we went in for the third time, and she suggested we take pictures. We did, and back we went for a fourth time to show the pictures of the wavy mattress. Which is now causing my mother pain. Clerk made me do the uploading of the pics to her manager, then were told to wait while he decided what to do. Meantime we select a replacement mattress only to be told its not in stock. Manager says theyll do an exchange and waive the $125 return fee. Wait, what about the 120 day tryout period? Then they tell us they cant get another mattress to us for 2 more weeks! And our elderly mother is in a nursing home and suffering on this defective mattress! Had no choice but to go to another store, buy her another one and try and get our money back. I called again and said look, I just want to bring this back and get a refund. Well, you cant just bring it back, I have nowhete to put it, thats a lot of paperwork and I cant risk my job by just approving a refund, blah blah blah. Oh my God, just forget it!! So now the defective mattress is out in my shed and were out $500.

We will never shop at mattress one again. Bad customer service. We bought a mattress and box spring. We were led to believe we would most probably need a high profile box spring. When it was delivered we realized it was too high. Went back to the shop right away to tell them we needed to exchange for a low profile one. They would not do anything about it. Was just told it could not be done. That we should have refused delivery. For one thing the delivery men were in and out so fast we didn’t even have time to realize it wasn’t going to work. If doing an exchange is so impossible, the manager Chris (at the Ormond Beach store) should have advised us to measure the bed before we ordered to make sure. All she told us was that most beds need a high profile box spring. Well, she was wrong and now we are stuck with something that doesn’t work for the bed. We will Never shop Mattress One again.

UPDATE: After 6 months or less the Stearns & Foster mattress has a mountain ridge running lengthwise with visible sagging on either side. The manager below has retired and new personnel simply referred us to a website to file a claim online. That webpage didnt accept the photos we were instructed to take and new manager was argumentative/defensive about crashed website, so weve contacted S&F and Mattress One regional, where the latter hasnt responded to our emailed photos so far. S&F mattress less than 1 year old !! Bad mattress (they sold the boxframe as well) and no help from M-1 so far. You could buy from online and get better customer service so far!PRIOR REVIEW: Store Mgr Chris was a no-pressure sales person who presented the pros and cons of the various mattress models and brands with patience and good humor. The set was delivered on the day scheduled; it would be helpful for the delivery folks to at least narrow delivery times down to a half day, however.
