My family always has the greatest experience dealing with Alissa and Ben. Great customer service and reasonable prices from docking to servicing my boat. My kids always enjoy stopping by at their store as well getting apparel and free stickersπ.We are always greeted with smile and all of our questions are answered.Cord, their mechanic is very knowledgeable and always explains concerns and all the work performed on my boat. Ken, their Sales Manager can always help you with answering question especially if you are new boat owner. Ken, knows pretty much everything about Illinois river.
Stopped for gas. Fair priced. Was trying to trouble shoot issue. Tony was an absolute gem in helping me out. He had previously serviced my boat (previous owner) and even was willing to help over the phone with vacuflush issue.Veteran-ran service dept helped me get back on the river in no time! New marina ownership, owner came out to personally assist with fuel/etc. Highly recommend this marina!
Love this place. Tony is a boat engine genius and the service is great. The bar and restaurant has great food as well to be enjoyed on the sunporch as long as the restaurant itself overlooking the river. Reasonable prices on storage for my boat as well!
Great service all around. Tony is a genius and will keep u boating all day. Great people that work there and Great members that you will meet!
Iβm sure Starved Rock is a decent marina, but it was the off-season when some of their old boats caught my eye. On their back lot, out by 34, are a couple dozen dilapidated abandoned boats and watercraft in various stages of decay. I like to photograph a bunch of abandoned places and thought these old hulls could make for some cool photos. I looked for someone to ask permission from but struck out. The marina appeared closed but the gates were wide open. I walked around the interesting boat boneyard for a few minutes, took some pics then got on my way.
Great place to tie up your boat
Awesome marina and resturant
Thank God...new restaurant owners!!! Marina service center is top notch! In addition new owner operators of Starved Rock Adventurers. Tony does his best to assure a safe and enjoyable time when renting a pontoon. He is also running the marine repair shop and does excellent work at a fair price. Ignore the 3 and 4 year old negative reviews!
Ive heard great things about the service and sales department and to get a slip.
A Big Fat ZERO. We had a horrible experience. We wanted to do something new for the kids ranging from 11-18. We rented the boat for the day. We were told there was a grill and that we could BBQ on the boat. They mentioned that we may want to go to their private island to spend some time and grill there. While we were out we wanted to water tube with our own tubes. It was at this time that we realized we had no ladder. It was very difficult to get on and off the boat.We tried to turn on the radio, but the cover fell right off of it and then there was just static. When we got to the island we went to use the grill. It was very dirty and it would not start. Luckily there were other people there and we were able to get matches to light the grill. We ended coming back early because everyone was having such a horrible time.We went to tell Bob about our experience. He did not seem concerned nor did he apologize. He was more worried that he has to buy a new ladder that costs $200. He told us that there were matches on the boat, we explained to him that there were no matches. He also said that the radio should have worked. Some tips if you still decide to rent from them1. Go to the bathroom before you leave.2. Make sure there is a ladder3. Make sure the radio works4. Bring a bag for garbage5. Make sure you bring grill accessories6. Make sure there are matches on board or that you bring some with you.7. Make sure the grill is clean.I feel that $490 was a lot of money to spend on this. Bob should have offered us something, very bad customer service!
After you read this review and you still rent this Houseboat you deserve everything that comes your way. To begin with Erin that works the desk is a real piece of Work!! Rude is an understatement. So let me give you some important advice. Go and physically inspect the inside and out side of boat, this will be a real Eye opener. Filthy on the outside is an understatement. Top deck stairwell had so many spiders you didnt even want to go up to deck for fear you would get trapped in their webs. Once you cleaned the stairwell with a cloth ( no broom supplied) you finally got to the epitome of dirt. There is no excusefor this. The windows I had to clean the bugs off myself. Cob webs all over! Now lets move onto the interior. I had to twist back and forth the fluorescent mood lights to get them to work. On the lower berth there is some type of electrical device hanging on the wall. Illinois River was dirty and greasy with barges continuously going up and down the river 24/7. Beware of additional charges such ad prop blades. Also the Generator failed three times and we had to have technician come out and fix it. Two nights with no AC is a bear. Need I go on. Do yourself a favor and inspect.
Great place
Lovely day on a lovely boat. Everyone was very helpful and really worked with us to make our event nice. They answered all my questions and spelled all the prices and options out very well beforehand. Beautiful scenery.
The negative reviews on the boat rentals are not for Starved Rock Marina they are for Starved Rock Adventure which is a totally different business that happens to be on the same property. The owners and staff at Starved Rock Marina are great people to due business with. The office help and owners Ron and Tom are professionals who are very accommodating and ready to help. The maintenance dept. is first class and very thorough on any type of repair. I have been boating there since 1979 and wouldnt think of moving my boat anywhere else.
I would like people reading these reviews to know the posters are putting the reviews in/on the wrong place. For 20 plus years I have either docked here, kept my boat here, or had them work on my boat. They have always taken good care of my boat and worked with me to my satisfaction. The bad reviews are for Starved Rock Adventures which operated out of a different building and not Starved Rock Marina.
People there are outstanding even had some work done there would recommend
Great place full of great people, we love being here.
All of the negative reviews are for Starved Rock Adventures, which is a completely different business from Starved Rock Marina. Please revise or make sure that the reviews that youre leaving are correct! Starved Rock Marina is fantastic and their long-standing, positive reputation should not be damaged by a totally separate business! Thank you!!
Dont waste your money! Terrible boats and terrible customer service! Our boat broke down and they got us stuck even more while trying to rescue us. Youd think after such a bad experience a business would offer you something, nope not this TERRIBLE place!
Great place to dock your boat.
I love this place. I think everyone should go there
CAUTION! CAUTION! Customer Service is Terrible ! We rented a pontoon Boat For our Family The Boat was FILTHY Mold on Drivers Seat Mold on carpet were it meets the passenger seats. You could smell the mold. The Radio did not work .They do not maintain there Boats Just in it for the Money I called and They did not offer to compassionate me in any way .They DO NOT CARE . Waste of my money $590
Horrible communication! called ahead of time before me and the family arrived, explained my son would be a passenger on my jet ski and hes 6, drove over an hour to get there and they tell me he has to be 9. Needless to say our day was shot, and we spent money at captains cove to eat as a waste. If you go, talk to several people first, you never know who is just answering phones for them.
Rented a pontoon for the day and it was great. nice, helpful staff
Workers were super friendly and accommodating. They had everything we wanted
If i could give a 0 i would. Boat broke down had to get towed back in. Kids scared and hungry, owner offers no consideration and super rude about it. If you have a choice... go horseback riding or canoeing save your money on this one.
WORST ESTABLISHMENT. WE RENTED THE BOAT FROM AND IT WAS WORST EXPERIENCE. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CHARGED EXTRA AMOUNT TO MY CARD. RUIN MY DAY.JUST ADVICING PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY. WARNING !!!!!!
This is our favorite place to drop our boat in the water!!! We drive an hour just to use this marina!
Worst marina we have ever been too. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Seems that if you are a houseboat owner you can do what ever you wish here. We will never return. NO THANKS....
Whoever manages this place and offers the service can please come and take a look at it from time to time, no?! Very poor service.
Nice place to store your boats
Great, helpful people, ALL the time!!
Easy to use boat launch
Great food.
This is a worst business to deal with. They are scams, unprofessional, unethical business practice. Please beware.
Great place to boat
Perfect place for fuel and a beer
The negative reviews are for starved rock adventures which is on starved rock marina property.......
