Ive purchased many items from this place and Ive never been disappointed!

Great deals here. People need to know about their discounts -- they have some signs up, but like hundreds of items are 25% or 50% off. They have dates on the price tags, I think its that if something is there 2 months, it goes half off -- even the antique furniture. But you can go through the toy room and theres a book room, lots of high-end, like-new linens (most half off), a huge tool section, kitchen section, great lamps/lighting, etc. It seems like every few weeks the place is completely filled with new items. Lots of vintage and antiques, but also lots of high-end, new stuff too.

I loved this place the first time I went. They had a great selection of tools. Now they seemed more focused on furniture and decor. The selection changes semi regularly. So you never know what your going to find.

So many great pieces. The service was great and the prices are wonderful as well. Ive scored fabulous pieces here.

A place to find hidden treasures. Mostly home furnishings, there is a nice selection of good vintage pieces. I found a nice pair of vintage earrings.

This place sure isnt what it used to be Very overpriced

She used to be a nice place to shop but everything has gotten expensive and there’s no inventory. Everything is roped off, not for sale or so expensive that it becomes on affordable and you might as well go buy new. And recently it seems like they can’t keep staff. Very expensive and not worth the drive out here anymore. Sad, they used to have a good thing going.

Found Xmas bows and kitchen hand towel. Just what I needed.

Lots of nice vintage furniture. Good place for auctions also. Well run without the circus atmosphere.

Do not take items here to sell them. they will claim they are going to buy items and then back out at the last minute with little to no explanation. Workers are snobby and brash. very unpleasant to speak to.

Good place to go to, if youre looking for something . They have all kinds of different things.

Dont bother to consign anything here. The owner will rip you off..taking a larger percentage then agreed upon. Good chance Your items will not be placed in the system correctly, paying the house not you. She also claims some item are donated over time, when they are not..but sold at her gain. Think you might like to work here? Constant staff roll over. If you like being mistreated by other staff,(and it being allowed) belittled and yelled at by the owner, paid less then your male coworkers doing the same job, then this job is for you!

While the people working there were super friendly, I had just the opposite experience with an owner -- Sue I assume. When a customer ASKED if she could purchase an item that was outside of the store, she was essentially accused of trying to steal it.I could not believe how rudely the customer was treated, all over a bunch of old 7 Up cans that were going to be recycled or disposed of in some other fashion. The customer had much more class than Sue, and didnt go to her level, but I wonder if she will be back. I doubt I will.

6-9-2013 RE: Main Street Estate Sales in Ottawa Il.If you are looking for an Estate Sale company to sell your quality Estate Items, then you have come to the wrong place.The way this outfit operates is that they will pick up all your estate sale items and transport them to their facility where they conveniently “lose” about 1/3 of your items. Then they will claim that despite you having supplied them with photographs and them coming out and actually seeing and picking and choosing the items they want, that the items were of poor condition and quality and would not sell for any real money. This is by no means an Estate Sale facility. It is instead a glorified garage sale operation. They charge 50 percent of what they admit to having sold and then claim that you do not know what you are talking about when you question what happened to the rest of your property and why the prices were so drastically low?? These people are thieves and liars who become extremely arrogant and obnoxious on the phone when you question anything Sue says. First she claimed she was never given any fur coats, then she claimed she found them, come pick them up, not sold. The one coat that was new and cost $600.00 faux fur, had a $40.00 price tag. The other coat was replaced with a Jaclyn Smith K mart coat with a Wisconsin Wal mart receipt in the pocket, it was not even our coat! And it too had a $40.00 price tag.This is just an over sized garage sale, with all the merchandise mixed in with other merchandise from other sellers and from items owned by the estate sale company, they claim that they keep track of the property by color coded dots. Then they conveniently lose the dots off you property, and claim it is not yours, don’t know where yours went, never got it! The receipts they give you for your property when they pick it up are illegible and they only list the large items not all the items. If you think that you will receive any real money for your estate items from this outfit think again. This is the biggest rip off outfit I have ever encountered in the last 50 years!If you plan to do business with Sue’s Main Street Estate Sales you will make more money and be far better off by having a garage sale or giving everything to the salvation army. At least you will not have to put up with the arrogant tone and obnoxious attitude you will get when you question Sue on anything. I actually thought it was my property being sold NOT Sues.Boy! Was I wrong!!
