I have a Sams and Costco membership, I shop at both places frequently and spend a lot of money at both. Ive more and more started going to Sams due to the overall experience. I can check out through my mobile app, I dont have to dig for my card to show it to a person archaically at the door before I enter the store, and the people are more friendly. I prefer self checkout, and the people at this Costcos self checkout are awful. Yelling at you if they perceive you to have more than 15 items, even if you dont. Then theres no access to the scanner, a person has to come near you and scan larger items. When they do it theyre rude and condescending. Hire better people for a better experience. I give a higher rating than a 1 due to the niche items I prefer and can only find at Costco. Super disappointing store with archaic methods of doing business.

This was a nice Costco! While there is no specific truck or RV parking, we had plenty of space to park our RV in the back of the parking lot comfortably. It was our first time being in a Costco since April and was honestly a joyous experience. We found everything we came for and tried the chicken bake for the first time from the food court which was a delicious snack on our road trip!

I love Costco and have been going to the store for more than a decade unfortunately this one is closest to my home. So far I have found the service members to be rude which is weird for Costco so not sure what’s wrong. While checking out no one offers to put items in the boxes. When my husband tried to get some boxes I saw customer representatives hushing to themselves (not polite). Also one time during check out my husband got an item late and the checkout service member had a mini panic attack. Maybe they need more training or just people are having bad days every time we go there.

Glad to see expansion of fresh vegetables and fruits sold in the store: love crisp colored sweet mini-peppers, cut ready-to-use butternut squash, Flavor Bomb cherry tomatoes, blueberries (best when in-season), Power Greens, red papayas, persimmon (seasonal) and more. They have a great selection of organic items: Turkish apricots and figs (single ingredient, sun-dried) in great value bags for snacking, Kirkland brand virgin olive oil, Sunrise Energy Bars and more. Kirkland brand laundry detergent packs. Very professional staff. No hassle returns. Watch out for seasonal markdowns. Hard to resist temptation to buy more than you need or will be able to use!

Don’t waste your time at this store.Came to this location to buy a scooter for my 3 year-old nephew—after learning the Lenexa location was sold out of it—but because my sister is the official cardholder (who has the same last name as me & lives in the same house as me), I was denied and told I couldn’t shop here. Manager named Chris needs to be educated on customer service because he was very rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to come to a reasonable solution. There is a way to talk to a customer who is unhappy and there is a kind, polite way to tell people “no” .. but, obviously, Chris doesn’t have a clue when it comes to those things. Our (my sister’s) membership is due for renewal soon. I guess it’s time to give Sam’s club a try!

I walked in and the Gustappo lady up front delayed my entry with the, Sir, sir do you have a card? I could have pulled out dozens of cards, but not the membership card she so anxiously and generically alluded to. I replied, No. She said, Then you cant come in here. Ummm, yeah, I can. She said, Not without a card. (Yes, I know, we should have gone through 15 cards to find a shiny one to make her happy, but, alas...)So I asked her to have her manager go back and get my prescription. To which Sgt. Schultz (yes, this was getting comical) replied, Oh, i didnt know you had a prescription. To which I replied, No, because you didnt ask. My fault, I thought it was customer service, not Costcos very own guard tower. Oh how she would have made Colonel Hogan proud! Cheers all, make everything fun and the little things get littler.🙃

We took a break from Costco for a while but I have missed it. You really can save if you know what you are shopping for. The employees are great, the food is awesome and store is organized even with a million people in it.The food pick up at the front is less organized though. We ordered two pizzas. Twice the kitchen woman ga e our pizza to people who put in the order at the kiosks after us. They used our pizzas to get through the line of individual orders that were standing there causing us to wait for much longer than we should have. So order something crazy or not during high traffic times if you want your pizza in a decent amount of time.

As long as youre ok in spending more to purchase in bulk, having to go to a physical store and deal with crowds and still pay more than online competitors, this is the place for you. The only thing I actually find cheaper about Costco is their gas (assuming you use Premium). I personally found their memberships to not be worth it and am not a fan of their stores. Ordering online is basically useless from this retailer and they treat you like a criminal when you leave making you stand in another long line so they can look at your receipt but not actually check the items in a cart. No thanks, Ill take my business elsewhere.

I went to pick up a couple of prescriptions for my husband today at the pharmacy. He gets all his prescriptions filled there on a regular basis. Today, one of those two prescriptions was pain medicine. I provided them all the required information as well as my Drivers License, which I completely understand because it is a controlled medication. What I don’t understand is why they asked me what the pain medication was prescribed for. It’s none of their business. You have a prescription, sent to you from a doctor, if you don’t want to fill it, just say so, we will take all our pharmacy business elsewhere. But you have no right to question me. I have lived in several states and have never once been asked why a doctor has prescribed pain medication. The poor gentleman standing next to me was picking up pain meds for his wife and was asked the same question. Broke my heart when he said, in a shaky voice, “cancer.” Shame on you Costco!

Today 2/6/2020, Tuesday around 0800 I used self checkout at Costco for the first time. The female and Male employee both could’ve been a lot more sensitive in the issue of explaining to me what card services Costco except. I had a very bad experience here and felt disrespected, especially by the employee’s tone towards me. I felt belittled and am tempted to return my Adidas merchandise that I bought from there. I am not impressed with this Costco unfortunately. The past trips I have made to Costco with my boyfriend I had good experiences, so I am very disappointed in Overland Park’s. I still don’t know if I will return my purchase in the morning. It would be the only reason I return to this location again...

Best part about Costco is the parking, they really knew what they were doing when they made these parking spots so large. This place is so busy and hectic, if parking were a problem we wouldn’t go. I know it sounds weird, but it was a very clever thing they did. Also the new hands free Kiosk at the concession stand is a no brained, and definitely here to stay post Covid.I think Costco could invest a little more in air movement in facilities like theirs they have now, it looks like especially in employee occupied areas like the Bakery for example.

The store is always well organized and the products are great quality for the price you pay. This includes food, drinks, gas, tires, and even over the counter medications. Additionally, the food court has a limited selection but it is very affordable and great taste. Although we had to choose at least 1 star in order to post a review, we would have rated our experience a -5 if we could. We have never had a more frustrating and disappointing experience with a handyman service. What makes the overall experience even worse is that we contracted for service as part of a purchase made at Costco. While we enjoy shopping at Costco, their recommended service leaves much to be desired and frankly, damages their brand. If they cant coordinate with competent professionals, why should we trust anything else they recommend to me?We purchased two large TVs, a 75” and an 82”, at the Overland Park, KS, Costco location. Because the TVs were extremely heavy, and we are getting older, we added Costcos recommended handyman service to install the TVs at the time of purchase. We knew the TVs were larger than standard, so we paid for 2 people to do the installation - extra cost, but necessary to do the job right.Heres where everything went wrong. We NEVER had 2 people from Costcos contracted service, Handy Premier, come to install the TVs. You would think after the first mistake and our call to find out what went wrong when only one person arrived, Handy Premier would send out two staff to do the job, as paid for.You would be wrong. Handy Premier sent 1 staff member to do a paid-for 2 person job a total of FOUR times. Every time we called, we were assured our booking was for 2 staff. However, it appeared to be a surprise each time to the person arriving at our house that there were, in fact, supposed to be two people. And, as you can guess, a single person could not hang the TVs because they were too heavy. No matter how many times a single person came out, a single person could not hang the heavy TVs. (This is why we paid for 2 people.)The second time we called, a service person who had arrived by himself told us he could come back in two days with another person. We assumed this meant another Handy Premier person, but no. He came with - not a second employee - but a helper who did not work for Handy Premier. (Was this helper background checked? Certified? Bonded? We have no idea.) While the helper assisted with holding the TVs, the Handy Premier staffer hung the larger TV at the wrong height which had to be corrected - drilling multiple holes into our new wall. The two then asked me (a 70-year-old woman, who had paid for 2 recommended service contractors) to help hold the TV (which I did, but should I have since I am restricted by my doctor from lifting weight over 30 lbs?) and then hung it crooked. When that was pointed out, we were told “the TV was level when I measured it and it is heavy” and left. That obviously had to be fixed, by another contractor from the recommended service in a separate visit. We called for another 2-person crew, and once again, only 1 person showed up. After calling Handy Premier while he was there and learning we would have to book once again, he told us that if we couldnt get 2 people from Handy Premier, he would bring someone with him on a different day! We booked two staff members yet again, and once again, only 1 person showed up and had no idea that there was supposed to be a second person. Fortunately, he was able to level the TV from the wall mount without having to reinstall and drill more holes in our wall.Adding insult to injury, after numerous calls, numerous visits, incorrect and incomplete service, when we called Handy Premier to seek reimbursement for service that was not provided as paid for, we were told, were unable to process a refund since your appointment is already completed.Appalling service by a terrible recommendation from Costco. We do not recommend hiring Handy Premier for any service. Furthermore, we do not recommend trusting Costcos recommendations of service providers.
