Service is always phenomenal, theyll remember your name and always recommend a great drink. Great local spot!
Great coffee, cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely beats Starbucks!
They have two sizes for coffee 12oz and 16oz their lattes are great and they even have sugar free hazelnut flavor. Beer is also on the menu if you come later in the day. They have a tasty selection of lite bites. I tried the chocolate croissant which had an amazing consistency. They even have bagels, oatmeal, yogurt and breakfast wraps. Though the sitting is limited due to covid. Other wise nice spot, even some outdoor seating. Chill music also, nothing that would distract from conversation but great background choice.
Nice alternative to Starbucks, and this place is located on the main drag downtown near all the other shops and the small park area. They have sidewalk seating which is great on nice days. Prices are as expected, many flavors to choose from, and great tasting drinks. The staff is fast and helpful. Usually full of the local college kids, hanging out or studying. Nice place to go for a tasty drink and to relax for a bit.
Coffee was okay. Better than gas station Coffee. Just seemed a little watered down. I ordered black Coffee, no cream or sugar. It was supposed to be the more robust. Cost $2.50 plus tip. Not really worth it. My Coffee at home is much better. I have a regular coffee maker. No bells or whistles.
Absolutely the best coffee Ive had in Oxford! (I drink black, brewed coffee.) My daughter had the iced Chai tea, which was delicious. I ordered the Green breakfast open-face sandwich and added an egg. It was fantastic! The fact that they can cook a perfect soft-boiled egg is a testament to their dedication to happy customers. I liked the vibe of Kofenya and will definitely go back when Im in town.
Nice quiet placeIn a not so quiet college town
Great little coffee house in the heart of downtown Oxford. Quality has been consistently awesome since they opened in 2004. If you like chai lattes, and if you like apple cider, do yourself a favor and try a Chaider. You wont regret it!
Amazing coffee in a great study location!
I only order cappuccinos there and I like it very much. The missing star is for the place and the chairs, ... quality and arrangement. It could definitely be improved. Thanks for the cappuccino.____________From a recent visit, 10/23/19The Greek Goodness toast is an absolute must. It was very tasteful and well balanced. One thing to remember though is that its not enough on itself for a small lunch but might be good enough as breakfast. Final comment: it might be the season but I wouldve loved to experience more flavor from the micro greens. At any rate, the Greek Goddess is 💯 recommended.
Their house blend might be the best medium roast in the midwest, let alone little Oxford.
Nice place lol
A little tight and not extremely stroller friendly, but the food was good as well as our drinks.
Best (and kind of the only) coffee shop in town.
Great coffee, skinny mocha and tea
Super groovy coffeeshop (like a real, honest to god coffeeshop) that has great drinks and great food. You can really sit back and relax, enjoy your cuppa joe in this place. I used to come here to read and never had a problem concentrating. Now every time I pass through Oxford, I make it a point to stop. (Also, as someone who usually drinks a black coffee, I have to say their seasonal lattes are really quite good.)
Friendly. Great coffee. Adequate space to sit with social distance.
Great service. Cool vibe.
My go-to is a mocha latte and they did this perfectly. I believe that many places get this wrong when they add too much chocolate. It was strong enough to taste the espresso but not overpowering as they added the right amount of chocolate to edge it off and make it sweet. Id definitely get it here again!
Wonderful selection and quality. Great service.
Independent locally owned coffee shop.
What a lovely “low-key” coffee shop to hangout in. I felt so welcome and comfortable here! The service was wonderful, the coffee GREAT, and the atmosphere warm and friendly. I WILL return! 😊😊
A place to socialize and drink coffee.
My husband and I were meeting our son and fiancee (future merger)! The coffee was fresh, hot and delicious! The young lady that waited on us was cheery and upbeat. Great place to caffeinate and get the day going!
Probably one of my favorite spots in Oxford. The staff is always super friendly, the coffee is tasty, and the ambiance of the place is always great. One of my favorite spots to hang out, get some work done, or just read the news for a bit.
Nice seating area, but the ccoffe is overpriced and taste isnt the best of quality. Sometimes get very noisy as this place is mostly occupied by the students. Very close to miami university campus.
This place is so cool and has the BEST coffee!
If youre looking for a place to study or you just want to get some coffee (or tea) with friends, then Kofenya is the place for you. They have a diverse menu that changes periodically and their hot and cold bottomless items are great if youre going to be there for a while. They also have great seating, you can choose from booths, regular tables, counter seats, or even the couch or love seats. Just be aware that not every place to sit has an outlet and it can get pretty packed around exam time so plan accordingly.
Wonderful coffee. Loved my caramel latte and I was so excited to see that they used beans from my hometown! Very cute downtown area. Near the campus. If I am back in the area I will return for an other latte.
Great vibe
The regular coffee is very good.
The food is absolutely amazing. In Oxford the only two coffee places that are always packed is this place and Starbucks. Youd think that Starbucks would quickly be the winning coffee house, but Kofenya gives it a run for its money. I absolutely love this place and its wide menu. It has an amazing vibe and it feels like home. The staff is always so sweet and they have patience when someone is indecisive. The drinks are very good but I wish they still had the lavender flavor for the coffee.
During my time at Miami, I frequented Kofenya because they have good coffee (and usually a couple good brews on hand), nice staff, and theoretically space to study/do work. And I try to support local coffee when I can instead of Starbucks (plus the Starbucks in town is super tiny + always packed). To be honest, though, the place is getting a little shabby. Lots of the furniture has seen its glory days and some of the chairs are duct-taped where there are holes in the upholstery. Im all about the shabby/casual cafe atmosphere, but I think its time the owners invest a little back into the place. Its past its prime. Also: the internet SUCKS. Especially if its busy. If you have a lot of stuff to do online or need semi-fast browsing speeds, prepare to be massively disappointed. And if youre trying to download/upload anything at all, forget it. This is such a bummer too! Because I really like this place...AND during finals week theyre open 24 hrs which is amazing.
Love this place. I am traveling from Houston. This place could be Awesome, anywhere. Great WORK Team Awesome. Boom
Great coffee and chai. Very friendly small business with a cool bohemian atmosphere, tasty drinks, and room to settle down to study or talk with a friend. I meet old friends who come into town here routinely. Not just a grab and go place like Starbucks- a nice place to spend some time. Interesting art, good drinks, good food. Whats not to love? Im old enough to remember the many businesses that have been in this space, and I enjoy Kofenya. Just make sure you choose a seat that doesnt sag dramatically- one booth in particular requires a bit of caution. But thats part of the charm.
This was a gem of a find on my trip back for Alumni Weekend. Rustic kitsch decor mix-matched to a perfect vibe--immediately welcoming and interesting. Very friendly and helpful staff. And probably the best cup of coffee that Ive ever had. Thanks!
Really friendly place. Food is always great, and the service is really nice. If you asked me the definition of good coffee house was, I would say, Kofenya. 😄😘😜👌
Coffee and alcohol with a cozy atmosphere. Great coffee and tea with friendly staff. Highly recommend to stop by if your in town.
The college experience encapsulated in a coffee shop. I lived here while in Oxford. They offer amazing drinks and food both. Cozy place and atmosphere, and the staff knows what theyre doing. Great people and place all around. I mean... You get 3 shots instead of two like everywhere else. What more could you want? Gets crowded though!
Cute ambience, chalk writing walls in the bathroom, adorable seating, and fantastic coffee. 10/10 would recommend
Nice local coffee spot in Oxford. Great tasting coffee drinks. Nice, laid back atmosphere. Can get a little crowded during finals.
Great coffee and the cinnamon pastry we had was fantastic. Nice vibe, relaxing environment.
Great coffee and atmosphere! Love that they offer craft beer and other alcohol, as well. Their hot coffee is the best drink to get.
This is a great place to meet friends or study. Friendly and quick service!
Kofenya has a chill ambiance that serves as one of my favorite places to study or meet up with a friend. They have a good selection of beverages and snacks, both of which accommodate vegan needs, and their prices are definitely reasonable!
Perfect for a backwoods coffee shop that caters to an exclusive type of audience. If youre white and from here, youre alright!!
A little cramped, but thats only because we brought a stroller to a busy college campus. Totally worth it though cause the coffee was perfect! Smooth, strong and tasty.
The drinks and food here are extremely well priced. Dont expect the biggest variety of food, as the main attraction here is the beverage variety and the atmosphere. If youre looking for a quiet place to work or a fun place to chill with your friends, the comfortable aesthetic and appropriate music selections are perfect for the businessman and the bohemian alike. I would definitely recommend this venue over Starbucks every single time.
Very nice coffee shop. Always enjoy going there when visiting Oxford 😁
Love this place. Such an authentic, cozy atmosphere. Employees are very helpful and friendly. Great menu!
I like coffee a lot
Cheap compared to other coffee shops, and tasty!
The prices are decent, the food is good, the atmosphere is generally nice, but sometimes the employees are snooty and reignite you. I stood at the counter for about five minutes unacknowledged on my most recent visit. The coffee was kind of old too. Highlander Grogg is my favorite there and I was disappointed. It is usually good though.
Nice place to gather and chat with a friend or two. Good coffee, free WiFi. Quiet. Youll see lots of students on their computers.
Cant go wrong with a bottomless beverage, hot or hot and cold when you have a full day of reading and paper writing. Friendly service too!
When its not crowded, its great place to hang out with some good coffee/drink selections.
Baristas change often, but always have a friendly attitude and good skills.
Cool coffee shop with breakfast food running the gamut of healthiness. Great place to people watch, meet a study group, spot a professor.
The cashier if thats what you would call her was really polite and the coffee I had was amazing.
This place is fantastic and 5 rimes more space than Starbucks that you wait in a 20 min line....The staff is awesome and very helpful....will always be here when we play hockey....All Hockey families need to look this place up....great stop!
Nice place for meetings and studying.
Great coffee. Great toast!
Koffenya is always busy, but its a nice place to conduct meetings, much bigger than the Starbucks. The coffee is also excellent!
Great coffee. Great service. Great scene!!!
Great atmosphere. Great coffee.
Excellent coffee and baked goods. Its very popular so sometimes its hard to find a seat.
My favorite coffee shop, hands down. I wish I still worked at Chase Bank down the street so I could get my daily chai.
Good beans, something of a West coast coffee culture, though with a clear local approach.
As always good service and a quality product.
Small town coffee shop. Offers all the normal things you would expect. Imagine you furnished your home by visiting 10 garage sales and you have the right idea of what to expect: Furniture is old, wobbly, broken, or uncomfortable. More times than not, it just seems dirty/sticky. Limited options in the area though.
Their Pumpkin Spice is truly better than Stubs! Thanks for letting us hang out there!
The coolest Crowd the best tell WiFi love the artwork the art deco I knew you were going to college town and you definitely felt like you were amongst the more educated crowd
Great place for a cup of coffee, meeting, study break, date
Coffee was very goo and atmosphere was as well. Would be a good spot to work on homework as a college student
Loved the coffee; great place to study and socialize; hip artwork on the walls
This is a great place for a rendezvous. Good coffee, quiet atmosphere, charming customer service.
Its good, the sign on the door is off putting. More seating than Starbucks, though it feels a bit dirty. I worry about how often the place is cleaned.
Too much coffee
Probably the most relaxing spot to hang out and do work in Oxford.
A nice and relaxing spot during the summer and winter times. Unfortunately once the students are in town it becomes a bit too crowded for my preferences so Ill take my coffee to go.
Good coffee, and great staff. Can be a bit crowded during the school year, but its still worth stopping in for a coffee.
Got two drinks, both bad. One was a chai, which tasted like hot milk (they called chai when they passed it out, def the right drink). I tried asking them to make it extra strong when ordered, but they argued with me, saying it was already a strong tasting drink. Couldnt even finish it, and it was too busy to ask anyone Second had to be repeated 3 times to three different baristas. Still came out wrong. All we asked for was two shots and 3 ounces of steamed half n half. Only giving two stars because they didnt kill the shots or scorch the milk. Probably deserves one star.
Great little place to spend time
A nice coffee shop. Much better than throwing money at Starbucks.
Really great local alternative to the Buc. Tastes better and generally cheaper than.
Coffee here is really good :)
Amazing atmosphere, delicious drinks, wonderful staff, so comfy & hip!
Comfy place to grab a coffee and study, or meet a friend.
Clean, cheerful meeting place
Better prices than Starbucks and you get more espresso in your drinks!
Nice play, good coffee....love local!
Best coffee in Oxford, locally owned, and a great place to study or be with friends.
Way over priced... Places like this is why they Dunkin Donuts.
Even if you dont get coffee its still amazing. If suggest the Carmel Apple cider.
Good coffee, nice atmosphere, average prices. Best coffee shop in Oxfords uptown.
